Die Gans war einzigartig gut . 3 Wochen später waren wir mit der Familie zu Gast. Alle Vorspeisen und unterschiedliche Hauptgerichte waren sehr gut bis perfekt. Das gesamte Personal war zuvorkommend und professionell. 👍👍👍👍

All in all average: + Food is delicious and well prepared + Location in the winter garden looks high quality + Price/performance is good on promotional days - Service is not really trying, inattentive and unfortunately unfriendly at times - Appropriate criticism is not dealt with or handled improperly by the staff - Order was sometimes recorded incorrectly (possible with 4 people) Overall, rather average, location promises more than what is actually there. Unfortunately, for the reasons mentioned above, you only feel comfortable partially, and not completely. The way the owner reacts to isolated reviews here on Google seems unprofessional and unconfident. Anyone who doesn't fight for every guest who deserves it will eventually fall by the wayside. The location itself is a delight!

Just the right place for a family celebration. Cozy atmosphere by the fireplace, very nice staff and delicious food. We felt very comfortable.

On October 24th We celebrated our wedding here in a small setting. The winter garden was made available to us for this purpose. We are completely satisfied with the evening. The service was very friendly and accommodating and the food (buffet of our choice) was excellent! The owner is also very friendly, uncomplicated and easy to reach. We would celebrate here again at any time and would also love to come here for dinner!

Quietly located in the forest in Hõchen (Nordfeld). Versatile event location. Guest room, winter garden, barn, party tent, beer garden in summer, children's playground, sufficient parking spaces, overnight accommodation, barrier-free access. The food is consistently very good and the service, we like to go there.

We celebrated our wedding in the Alm am Höcherberg about a week ago. What can I say it was perfect all around, the service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very plentiful from starter to dessert and was enjoyed by all guests, only the bread dumplings were a bit too salty, so the chef was probably in love ;-) We will continue to visit the Gasthaus Höcherberg in the future.

The ambience itself is okay, but it doesn't save the fact that 0.2 drinks cost almost €3 or the food that tastes below average. The portions are so small that you can't even get enough of a schnitzel with fries as a main course and when you first see the prices and then have to swallow, then the food is brought, you see the portion, remember the price and then you feel how you get chills at the congruence of price and quantity then you know that was the first and last visit to this establishment!! Answer: You don't even know who I am, so how do you conclude that my plate wasn't eaten empty? By the way, a very interesting way of dealing with criticism is to be directly abusive. Looks good here in the recessions section😉 Your drinks are more expensive than at a gas station Instead of insulting “customers” here, you could simply make the drinks 30-40 cents cheaper and put 4-5 more fries on your plate….

Nice spot for hikers and hungry guests. Here at the highest point in the Bexbach district you will find a beautifully landscaped and cozy restaurant in the middle of trees and forests. In addition to the beer garden and the separate outdoor area, there is a spacious playground within sight of the seating. The interior has a parlor charm, but is still modern thanks to the extension that was recently added. Next to the restaurant stands the Höcher Tower in all its splendor, which you can climb free of charge via an internal staircase. Once at the top you have a beautiful view over the forests. Right next to the old building, a beautiful, spacious log cabin was built that can be rented for festivities. However, the prices are high! The food has always been good, there are no complaints about the quality. However, much more could be achieved from the location! The service leaves a lot to be desired over long stretches. Due to the chronic shortage of staff everywhere, the friendly staff is often overwhelmed. For this reason, there are sometimes longer waiting times. To counteract this, decisions are made that are rather counterproductive. For example, for a while no conditions were possible in the beer garden, even though the first table in the restaurant and the first in the beer garden are only 2 meters apart. The argument is that the beer garden has a self-service area. Unfortunately there are only pretzels, ready-made tarte flambée and cakes. Ordering inside and taking the food with you is also not possible because there are no staff. Statement from the restaurant management. This gentleman has made a bad impression several times. We weren't allowed to take our dog in, even though there was already a dog in there. The statement was “they are always there” Another time it was too cold for him, so we weren't allowed to sit out in the sun. After all, he doesn't want to get sick. You can only take food away if you feel like it, and you can't pay for an espresso with a card while you're in transit. And so it's been dragging on for some time. Many people no longer go there for such reasons. If you celebrate a birthday in the restaurant and sit in the annex (the annex was full of birthday guests) you pay €300 rent! The reason was not clear to me. It's a shame, because we like to walk by there and stop in, if the way of thinking doesn't change, we'll just walk by.

We had our class reunion this year at the Gasthaus Höcherberg. The parking spaces were a bit tight that evening because there was a wedding party celebrating next door. The inn itself is extremely cozy, the chairs are super comfortable, and at the beginning the fire in the fireplace was on (it was switched off when it got too warm). The service was attentive and hard-working, no one had to endure long waiting times, which was very pleasant. The food was good, steaks were exactly as requested, unfortunately one meal was delivered with tomatoes despite an explicit note, which the allergic person immediately complained about and 3 minutes later received what was supposed to be the same plate without tomatoes. That didn't go well and it wasn't easy for the person concerned to enjoy their food. The evening was okay in terms of price. I will definitely come back again and can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Now let me judge the service staff, I really enjoy going to this restaurant again since some of the staff were replaced. It's been nice to visit this location again for a long time - the new service management is always friendly, courteous and absolutely warm. The young lady who also worked in service yesterday is also passionate about the matter, friendly and absolutely accommodating. Unfortunately, this is rarely found anymore. We were in the beer garden with a large group. Price/performance doesn't fit at all. A salad that was relatively small and dry/hard bread for I think €15.50. My salad came last by far. The service was not friendly nor attentive. Definitely not worth another visit for us.

Personal nett und freundlich und Essen war absolut ok allerdings auch nicht über dem Durchschnitt. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen. Gasthaus befindet sich in einer schönen Lage in einem Waldgebiet.

We were there with 20 adults, and almost as many children. The staff had absolutely no problem serving our food in a timely manner. The food was very good. The staff was friendly, and the outdoor area was great to keep the kids from getting bored. Thank you very much.

Passed it while hiking. Since we didn't have that much time and our water was empty, we bought 1 water bottle there for 0.75 to take with us - But €6.50 for this is outrageous and really unbelievable We'll never go there again.

It was about time something changed. Food was good and the interior is nice. A place for young and old. The children can enjoy it. Many possibilities.

What can I say except that the visit was overall not worth the money. We visited with 6 adults and 2 children. Reservations were made well in advance and at the end you sit outside right next to the tower, which was nice at the beginning but after about 30 minutes it started to get dark due to the time. The problem was that the existing lighting was barely enough to provide even a hint of light, so you sat in the dark in front of your food. Two candles were brought over, but they didn't make things any better. In the end, we helped ourselves with our cell phone flashlights and two glass water bottles to increase the light. When we ate, the misery continued. There was around 45 minutes between the side salad and the main course, and let's not even get started on the waiting time until we received the starter. Despite the long waiting time, some of the supplements were mixed up or incorrect. The taste of the schnitzel and the cordon bleu didn't blow us away either; for the price and knowing that there was a butcher shop behind the whole thing, we were really disappointed. The cream sauce was also 0815 and hardly better than a packet of sauce from Maggi Fix. In general, the food was absolutely carelessly prepared. At least the starter (the sheep's cheese in tomato sauce) was tasty and can be recommended without hesitation. Definitely suitable for a stopover on a hiking tour in summer, but not if you want to have a good dinner. The visit was in late summer 2023

Sometimes it's quite good here, last time I was served a Hefeweizen even though I wanted non-alcoholic and the schnitzels were warmed up rather than freshly prepared.

Today we went to the Gasthaus Höcherberg for the first time based on a recommendation. The recommendation was worth it. Everything was great. Individually tailored to the children's wishes. Food for 13 people ready almost at the same time. There was a slight delay but that should be ignored. After eating we went to the Höcherberg tower and enjoyed the view. You can climb the tower without waiting for a small donation at the entrance. The hiking tours in the area also invite you to go hiking before or after stopping off... All in all a successful visit. We'd love to come back.

Celebrated a birthday there. Food was very fine. The service was very attentive and friendly. Will always come back there. We recommend.

The inn is ideally located on the Höcherberg. Easy to reach and there is free parking right there. The Höcherturm, a tourist attraction, is right next to it. There is also a playground. The sanitary facilities can be reached via stairs in the basement. They are modern and clean. There are several areas to sit inside. Also an area with a glass front and fireplace. There are also a few places outside in the beer garden and under tents. Events can also be celebrated there. There is plenty of space for this. A large wooden building was built in the style of an alpine pasture. Also offers space for weddings etc.

Unfortunately my visit was disappointing. The lack of vegetarian selection is no longer up to date, the staff seemed overwhelmed and chaotic. In addition, one of the promised desserts in the 3-course menu was no longer available, and some of the food was cold. Although the furniture and environment of the restaurant were pleasant, this did not compensate for the negative experiences.

Have been guests there for years. Service is very nice and clean. I ordered salmon with pasta in Riesling sauce. The taste was good as always. Unfortunately it was served again and you only get one piece of salmon instead of the usual two pieces. That's another increase. I won't be ordering that again

Really an extremely successful and delicious Christmas buffet. Today we enjoyed Boxing Day with our family in Höcherberg. The food was really varied and very tasty. I found it particularly brilliant that the goose and roast beef were cut open right in front of you.

We've eaten there many times and it's always been delicious. However, the quality of the dishes continues to decline. The highlight was today, when we unfortunately discovered that the schnitzels tasted like burnt fat (oil or butter) and the cordon bleu wasn't cooked through even after we gave the dish back!!! The staff was very friendly and apologized several times (we also ended up getting a 50% discount on the Cordon Bleu) - top service. The chef even came out to talk to us, but he was very arrogant and unfriendly!!! Thank you Mr Koch. People like you help us avoid such nice restaurants!

Very nice inn with a beer garden! Food and drink are well provided In addition, the Höcherberg tower, at 27 meters, offers a great view over the Saarland. There is also a nice playground at the inn for the little guests. All in all, a very nice place to stay.

Nice restaurant which we visited at the end of a hike. The cellars are all very friendly and the atmosphere is right. The food took a little longer, but that's more because everything was made fresh and not just warmed up! It's a pleasure to wait! A small disadvantage: no credit cards are accepted, only EC cards. Don't get it right to make a correct billing because individual payments are not noted "on a lid". In the end, the booker of a group is the stupid one who gets to take the bill for the total amount.

Toll was da drauß geworden ist es ist zu empfehlen ich habe es nicht wieder erkannt ich wohne nicht mehr in Höchen aber komme öfter ins Saarland Grüße aus Bad Württemberg

Das Ambiente ist wirklich toll, Wir waren das erste Mal auf dem Höcherberg, leider bei Regen, aber in dem Biergarten sitzt man bestimmt toll. Wir waren 4 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder, das Essen war OK, aber auch nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Die Beilagensalate waren alle mit viel zu viel Pfeffer gewürzt - wir hatten Schnitzel mit Champignon Rahmsoße, gute Portion, jedoch haben wir alle schon deutlich bessere Rahmsoßen gegessen.

Bei unserem zweiten Besuch immer noch derselbe unfreundliche Kellner. Die Wünsche der Kunden bezüglich Sitzplatz werden unwirsch abgewiesen. Das Essen ist teuer, aber nicht schlecht. Werde das Lokal allerdings nicht mehr besuchen und auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Total überfordertes Personal. Lange Wartezeiten. Essen fast nicht zu genießen. Steak zu lange gebraten, wie eine Schuhsohle. Schnitzel meiner Frau kam aus der Fritöse. Die Preise wurden auch angehoben und Essen mit schlechter Qualität totla überteuert. Absolut nicht nachvollziehbar ist die Tatsache, wenn man mit einer Gesellschaft in den Wintergarten geht, muss mann pro Person noch 17 Euro bezahlen.

Hier fühlt man sich wie im Urlaub. Sehr schöner Biergarten, Personal super freundlich. Wir genießen gerne nach dem Feierabend die gemütliche Atmosphäre. Ob sonntags Ausflüge mit dem Fahrrad, wandern oder abends einfach gemütlich Essen … für jeden Anlass geeignet .. natürlich auch für Familienfeiern .. schön sooo eine Lokalität in der Nähe zu haben

Das Essen ist großartig. Der Service nun.... ein Kellner ist toll, sehr freundlich und einer .. beherrscht sein Handwerk, aber ist meist sehr unfreundlich.

Ein sehr schönes Ausflugsziel. Das Personal ist sehr nett und freundlich. Die Portionen sind sehr gross und das Essen ist gut bürgerlich. Preise sind da auch vollkommen okay. Das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr gelungen. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Ohne Reservierung heute trotz größerer Gesellschaft ein Plätzchen bekommen. Dankeschön Schönes gepflegtes Lokal. Äußerst freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Leckeres Essen, das ohne lange Wartezeit serviert wurde. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Preis/Leistung absolut angemessen

Diese Restaurant ist nicht zu empfehlen. Sehr unfreundliches Personal, Essen musste bei Bestellung im Voraus bezahlt werden und würde 35 Minuten später halb kalt gebracht. Schade, eine wunderschöne Location, die durch die Qualität von Service und Speisen absolut nicht zu empfehlen ist. Als Gast möchte man sich nicht vom Kellner beschimpfen lassen

Eigentlich haben wir uns gefreut wieder zum höcher Turm zu kommen. Der Ort ist wunderschön gelegen. Man kann wunderbar von hier aus wandern oder nach der Wanderung einkehren. Der geschichtsträchtige Turm hat eine wunderbare Aussicht auf das Gebiet. Es gibt einen großen Spielplatz mit Spielgerät bei dem sich die Kinder vergnügen können. Das Essen ist ganz gute Hausmannskost und die Preise der heutigen Zeit angepasst. Jedoch wird eine heitere Gesellschaft in diesem Restaurant durch die wirsche, extrem unfreundliche Art des Oberkellners nicht wieder hierher kommen. Schade dass die Stimmung an einem schönen Ort derart im Keim erstickt wird.

Gesellschaft mit über 30 Personen ! Das Essen in Buffetform war ok bis auf den Nachtisch, 2 Sorten Eis (nicht vom besten) , jeder konnte sich bedienen. Kaffee war auch dabei.....zu einem Preis von 40 € pro Person, was ich schon sehr happig fand. Der Gipfel war jedoch, dass jeder der anwesenden zusätzlich 17 € Raummiete zahlen musste....das macht pro Person 57 Euro, was eine absolute Frechheit ist.

Wir waren zu einem Geburtstag im Gasthaus eingeladen. Das Essen war sehr gut. Der Service war ok. Wir haben ein Zimmer zum Übernachten gebucht. Im Internet gab es nur ein Foto von einem relativ modernen Zimmer. Leider war das Zimmer, das wir dann angetroffen haben, alt und schäbig. Zusammengestellter Sperrmüll. Bei der Anreise hat der Geschäftsführer darauf bestanden erst zu Zahlen bevor wir das Zimmer überhaupt ansehen durften. Ein unmögliches Zimmer für 70 Euro ohne Frühstück mit Toilette und Dusche auf dem Gang. Solche Umstände müssten den Gästen offen und ehrlich angegeben werden 😟

Sind begeistert und haben gleich wieder einen Tisch reserviert um Verwandten einzuladen, wegen der Gemütlichen Ambiente .

Essen war gut, Service etwas durcheinander und verpeilt. Der knaller war dann, dass pünktlich um 21.50 Uhr kassiert wurde und wir ab 22 Uhr alle 2 Minuten durch die Blumen, zum gehn gebeten wurden. Wir waren eine Gesellschaft mit 15 Personen und es wurde reichlich gegessen und getrunken. kenn das so nicht und fand es sehr unhöflich.

In Anbetracht der großen Portionen muss man ein GUT geben. Der Service ist freundlich und flott. Die Preise stimmen. Werde aber dort nur noch hingehen, wenn unsere Clique es will. Ich finde Schnitzel und Steaks zu langweilig. Hätte doch lieber die Roulade probieren sollen. Fehlen diese imbissartigen Kleinigkeiten, auch Spaghetti. Fazit: Modernisierte Schnitzelgastro mit großen Portionen und flottem Service. Super Wintergarten. Gutes UrPils.

Haben gestern sehr gut gegessen, die Steaks waren spitze. Der einzige Wehrmutstropfen an dem Abend waren die Getränke. Da meine Frau und ich an solch einem Abend jeder 3 - 4 große Spezi trinken und es nur kleine Flaschen mit 0,2 l Inhalt gibt zu 2,60 € muß man überlegen ob es Sinn macht wenn die Getränke teurer werden als das Essen. Biergetränke wären bedeutend billiger aber als Antialkoholiker wirst du hier nur bestraft. Schade, denn das Essen ist super und das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Daß es alle alkoholfreien Getränke nur in kleinen Flaschen gibt verstehe ich zwar in Bezug auf die Sommersaison und den dann stattfindenden Kioskverkauf aber nicht in der Wintersaison im Restaurant, und als Wirt freiwillig einen Einkaufspreis von umgerechnet 4,50 € je Liter alkoholfreies Getränk bei der Brauerei zu zahlen kann man sich auch nur leisten solange der Gast diesen Preis bezahlt.

Eine sehr schöne Location mit sehr schlechtem Service. Ein wirklich unverschämter, überheblicher Kellner kann einer ganzen Gesellschaft einen Abend vermiesen. Wurden bei einem Klassenfest mehrfach unverschämt angepöbelt und nach 3 Stunden ins Freie gesetzt, da man für die nächste Gesellschaft eindecken musste. Nach Rücksprache mit dem Chef war das sogar so in Ordnung, da wir zu wenig Umsatz gemacht hätten, draußen durften wir ja noch bleiben, bei 13°C. An einem Abend 40 potenzielle Kunden verloren. Essen war ganz in Ordnung, Getränke ziemlich teuer, Bier vom Fass in der Alm war warm. Definitiv nicht empfehlenswert.

Am liebsten würde ich 0 Sterne geben jedoch, muss ich leider einen geben, da ich keine 0 auswählen kann. Der Service dort wahr sehr unverschämt, sie haben uns rausgeschmissen weil sie für andere Gäste die am nächsten tag kommen vorbereiten wollten. Dabei bekamen wir gesagt dass wir nicht genug Einamen wie er wartet generiert hätten, und sie jetzt deshalb die Gäste bevorzugen. Des Weiteren haben sie das Buffet einfach so abgebaut ohne uns bescheid zu geben, oder zumindest mal das übrige essen einzupacken.

Unser Ziel war der Turm, aber da gab es Probleme mit dem Schlüssel vom Tor. Aber wir blieben dann trotzdem hier wegen Abendessen. Meine Frau fragte ob es möglich wäre Glutenfrei Essen zu bekommen. Nach anfänglichem Zögern zählte der Koch dann doch einige Speisen auf die er machen könnte. Das die Schnitzel frisch geschnitten werden und nicht schon Vorpaniert sind, sah meine Frau und darum blieben wir hier. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichhaltig auch für den großen Hunger. Jedenfalls mein Turmschnitzel war super und meine Frau bekam ein Schnitzel mit Pfeffersauce das sie sagte sei sehr lecker und die Hauptsache, sie hat es sehr gut vertragen. Das Zögern am Anfang erkannte ich später, denn für einen Mittwoch war es rappelvoll, aber alles im allem Lecker und problemlos. Gerne wieder.

Habe diesem Lokal immer wieder eine Chance gegeben und wurde jedesmal enttäuscht. Salat mit Putenstreifen, Salat versoffen. Schnitzel lauwarm und verbraten. Bei den Steaks handelt es sich um Billigfleisch aus dem Aldi. Enttäuschend, der Pächter hat eine Landmetzgerei und bietet solches Fleisch an. Lange Wartezeiten auf Essen und Getränke. Personal unprofessionell und absolut überfordert. Hier wird an der falschen Stelle gespart.

Service lässt zu wünschen übrig. Getränke ständig falsch oder man wird vergessen und soll das Getränk am Schluss bezahlen. Essen war ok. Wirklich schade da die Lage wirklich gut ist für nach einem Spaziergang noch etwas zu trinken.

Von Dunzweiler aus wanderten wir über das Nordfeld zum Gasthaus Höcherberghaus am 518m hohen historischen Höcherbergturm gelegen. Für Wanderfreunde ist das Höcherberghaus ein sehr schönes Ausflugsziel und lädt nach einer Wandertour zur Einkehr um was zu trinken und zu essen ein. Sehr gerne empfehlen wir das Ausflugsziel deshalb weiter!
