Gasthaus Glaswerk in Bad Schwalbach

I can highly recommend the date burger, it was absolutely delicious. Friendly staff. One small drawback: it was too cold for us on the first floor, but it was also below freezing outside.

A lovely restaurant to linger in, with good food and very friendly staff.

This was our first time at Glaswerk, and we especially loved the ambiance – everything was made of wood and very cozy. The food was delicious, especially the seasonal pumpkin salad. However, the staff seemed a bit flustered and stressed at times. We were told to come downstairs to pay, and they didn't check on us at all. But overall, we can definitely recommend it, at least as far as the food is concerned. The prices are also reasonable, but you should have a bit more money in your wallet. The three of us paid just under €50.

Unfortunately, disappointing under the new owner. We used to be regulars at the Glaswerk and spent many enjoyable hours there. We also regularly used the upper floor with our club group and always felt at home. Unfortunately, a lot has changed under the new owner – both the food and the way we treat guests have deteriorated significantly. Because some members of our group only ordered drinks, we have now been informed that we are no longer allowed to reserve the table upstairs. This is a real shame, especially since we have been loyal guests for many years and our local group in Bad Schwalbach certainly has a certain reach. The ambiance remains pleasant and cozy – that's worth the second star. Otherwise, we can unfortunately no longer recommend the Glaswerk as we once did.

All the side salads were very poorly washed: every bite was sandy. We and another table complained, but no one in the service team cared. The rest of the food was mediocre: the burgers and the rump steak had good meat, but were barely seasoned. The schnitzel was tough and bland. Soft drinks tasted stale and watered down, and the homemade orange soda was just sparkling water with a dash of orange juice. The main courses for six people arrived at long intervals, so some of us were almost finished before the rest of us got their food. Overall, the service was inattentive and very slow. An ordered salad and a side dish didn't arrive (but that didn't bother us because of the quality). Payment was complicated: The waitress said we couldn't pay at the table; we'd have to go down to the counter to see the manager. Then he wonders why we come here and don't pay at the table, and it takes forever to create the bill or remove the missing side dishes.

Today I tried breakfast again, unfortunately I was very disappointed again, I had to wait 40 minutes for a relatively unimaginative breakfast for 2 people, sausage and cheese, nothing fresh, 1 slice of salmon, sweets, quark, lettuce leaves, egg, bread roll, fruit salad if you want to call it that, orange juice, sorry, for 29.80 € I would expect more

I had the salad with the crispy Hänschen and the mango chutney. Sooooo delicious. And the sweet potato fries 🤤 Unfortunately, the prices have gone up a lot. €7 for a small amount of sweet potato fries isn't worth it. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back because of that 😭

I haven't been so surprised in a long time. The service was super friendly; I can't think of anything negative to say about it. The atmosphere was super chilled and atmospheric. The food was actually ready together, and the portions were generous. A big plus: even dogs were allowed. The restrooms were clean. Overall, I recommend the restaurant.

We were treated very nicely, the food was delicious, and the portions were more than ample. The ambiance (we sat outside) is wonderful. The ancient gate that borders the courtyard is particularly striking.

The food was OK. The ambience is unusual and nice. The organization is poor. The way the boss treated the really young employees is completely unacceptable. One of them was told off at the table because he didn't know the name of the dish. I think it's great when 16-year-olds earn a little extra money. Everyone can forget something. There were no more drinks after the meal. The owner only cleared half the table, and despite asking us to order more drinks, he didn't come back. Paying at the table doesn't work. We waited a good half hour to pay. The tone and organization need to be improved. And importantly - it wasn't full.

The food was very tasty and reasonably priced, although the side dish (fries) could have been a bit larger. It might be a bit tight for someone with a very large appetite. The price, however, was reasonable, given the quality.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and were very happy about it. We had excellent food, great value for money, very friendly service, and a wonderful atmosphere in a 400-year-old half-timbered house. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by again.

A beautiful, welcoming restaurant with beautiful wooden beams, pretty table decorations, soft jazz music playing and a great tea selection. We just stopped for a drink of tea and latte as we had already eaten, but we will be back.

During my orthopedic rehabilitation in April, the Glaswerk was our first stop. The ambiance alone is worth a visit. Whether it was just a coffee for two or an Easter dinner with 12 family members, it was always perfect. The food was delicious and the service excellent! The breaded feta cheese was especially huge, and the rösti with Gorgonzola was delicious. The burgers are also a highlight. We felt very welcome. Thank you for that. We'd love to come back again, despite the distance. Highly recommended.

Everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and flavorful. I also think the selection is great. However, the service was rather mediocre both times. We waited a long time to place our orders, drinks or food were forgotten, and we also had to wait a long time, especially for drinks. I have to say that both times it wasn't particularly busy, which is why it took longer; the service staff were simply rather slow. I come from the restaurant industry myself, so I know how things work and what you have to do. Otherwise, everything was really delicious, and we had a great time both times. Overall, the food and atmosphere were really top-notch.

The Glaswerk is a beautifully renovated half-timbered building with a charm all its own. The service is attentive and prompt. They offer both vegetarian and vegan dishes – the taste is truly outstanding. It's definitely worth a visit!

I've been there very often.....very good food!!! But the Gasthaus Glaswerk is by far the best in terms of the quality of the food!!!! The salad... like fresh from the field... The different dishes are harmonious and beautifully decorated.... Yeast beer and pilsner on tap.... The interior is rustic, harmonious, comfortable and authentic... And the operator is always courteous with a constant eye on his guests. Finally an innkeeper who lives his profession from the heart!!! Absolutely recommended!!!!

Unfortunately, the food was cold, the service hardly spoke any German and didn't know the menu. We also didn't ask if we wanted anything else to drink. As mentioned, the food wasn't hot when you cleared it away, but you ate almost everything The bottom line is that the food and unfortunately the service did not do justice to the ambience

We come here for the food and the great service. Everything we have tried has been excellent, and the portions are generous. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

When we arrived we waited for 20 minutes and in the end had to go in ourselves and had to ask if they could serve us. We were then told that they hadn't seen us and then came out. When we had a question about the food about rice we were told in a cheeky tone that he had no idea what rice it was. We waited an hour for a wrap and 3 curry sausages with fries and in the end we didn't like it either

The restaurant is super cozy, and when the sun is shining you can also sit outside to eat. There is a large selection of delicious dishes (recommendation: Wiener Schnitzel with fried onions!) and the staff is very friendly. I can only recommend it.

We really enjoy eating there. It doesn't matter whether you come for lunch or with guests in the evening. The boss is exceptionally friendly and that is transferred to the staff. The food is very good, plentiful and you can choose from a variety of options. So always a good choice. And the glass house with its historic core is worth seeing.

Me and my wife's food tasted very good, but the Glaswerk Farmer Burger tasted very good, but then the menu has to say what's in it, there were tomatoes and lettuce on it, even though that's not on the menu, that's not possible, but we still like to come by again and again because it tastes very good there and drinking there also tastes very good

First things first: the cheese burger was delicious! The service was friendly and the location was very attractive. Everything was really good in terms of price. One point was deducted because an appetizer was forgotten and it was extremely warm upstairs, so we wanted to get some fresh air again quickly.

The interior is very cozy, I really liked the open half-timbering and the glass fronts. A few details that could perhaps be looked at more, like replacing wilted flowers, fixing the menu a bit or cleaning it up a bit here and there, but everything is fine, nothing critical from my point of view. The service was consistently great, very friendly. Always asked if we needed anything or if everything was ok, drinks and food were brought quickly. The food was good. The bruschetta was very tasty. Price performance is right for me. We felt comfortable here, were able to have a good time and eat at the same time, what more could you want.

The glassworks impress with its interesting architecture. Half-timbering and glass. The food is excellent. I've always had a very good meal here and no matter what I ordered, I really enjoyed it. The meat dishes are particularly good (hamburgers!). The owner is very friendly and the waitresses are also very attentive and friendly. You can stop here all day long. There is also a daily lunch menu, which I highly recommend. There is then a starter (usually soup), a main course and a dessert. You can choose between three different dishes for the starter and main course (usually meat, vegetarian or fish for the main course). I always enjoy coming here and feel very comfortable. It's nice that there is such a good restaurant in Bad Schwalbach. This is no longer a given.

We have been here a few times now and have always been very satisfied. The service was very friendly, the atmosphere was super cozy and the food was great. As a vegetarian, I am particularly pleased with the selection of meat-free dishes.

We had to wait almost an hour for our breakfast. My scrambled eggs were unrecognizable as such and also not edible (brown, dry, cold crusts like scraps scraped off the edge of the pan). There was a packaged strawberry jam that tasted very chemical. The rest was very average. The only tasty thing was the coffee and the fruit salad was homemade. There was enough staff, but the service was very poorly organized. Very disappointing

Hey Guys This is a Great Place to Share awesome And Healthy meals in a gorgeous location ( tipicall old Building from Germany “FachwerkHaus”. All The Salats Are Great, perfectly Cooked home made Rösti, yummi Burgers, Sandwiches Wraps And Pizzas. Delicius Soups, Schnitzels, vegetarían Disches. There is something to pick for everyone. 100% recommend this lovely Location. Friendly staff and owner on site at all times. I will recommended Gasthaus GLASWERK over and over again. Were there two days ago and had to wait a long time for the food. When the waitress brought the food, she didn't say a word, we had to see for ourselves who got which side dish and dish. I had a veal schnitzel that had been fried to death. When I cut the veal schnitzel about 3cm, I only had breading on my fork. When I opened the veal schnitzel I saw an approx. 1 mm thin slice. If you want to eat expensive breading, this is the place for you. Salad dressing, I'm not going to talk about that now. We were there for the first and last time. What I have to say is that our clothes smelled like we had been to a chip shop.

Had dinner with 12 people today. The food was delicious, the portion size was good and the service was super nice. The atmosphere is rustic and beautiful. The points are deducted because the menu on the website is outdated and the table decorations are really weak for a Christmas holiday (cutlery rolled in cheap napkins and tea lights in drinking glasses).

5 stars in all! First time I've experienced something like this. The beautiful old half-timbered house is beautiful and very cozy inside. The beautiful rustic yet modern atmosphere is very cozy and you don't want to leave. The food is of a high quality that is second to none. Please keep it up. The service is great and very friendly. The atmosphere is really nice. But right from the start, when you entered the restaurant, there wasn't even a hello or good evening. Seat right at the entrance. It took forever until the condition for drinks came, it took forever until the drinks came. Then wait again until she came to eat. That came too fast!!!! Three rum steaks were different (all should be medium, and not 220gr) fries instead of fried potatoes. After a short while we asked if everything was ok, after complaining that it was very salty, there was no response. It was all very very salty. As soon as we ate we immediately said plate please. 😧As soon as I drank the glass empty, the condition came: glasses please!!! Not even asked if you wanted something to drink. That was the first and last time we were there. Not recommended!!!

A pleasant end to the day with solid food. We ordered two of the same burgers, but they tasted significantly different, which isn't a bad thing and speaks for the individuality. The schnitzel was okay - nothing special. The ambience was great and the service was also friendly. It seemed as if the team was a bit overwhelmed, but still always friendly. The beer can be much colder, it was at room temperature. Thanks anyway for the spontaneous visit :)
