Immer wieder sehr gut! Das beste indische Restaurant in der Umgebung. Das Personal ist sehr nett und das essen ist fantastisch!🤩 So weit ich es beurteilen kann, ist es auch authentisch - es gibt viele Menschen mit indischen Wurzeln, die hierher kommen. Vielen Dank für die gute Gastfreundschaft!

Sehr gutes Essen, nette Bedinung.

Ich kenne dieses Restaurant seit über 30 Jahren (Stand 2026). Immer und stets war ich mit dem Essen, dem Service, dem Ambiente und v. a. den Preise sehr, sehr zufrieden. Ich habe es unter der Woche zur Mittagszeit meist als ruhiger und beschaulicher erlebt. Abends lebhafter und interessanter. Das Personal sowie die Betreiber scheinen in den Jahren immer mal wieder gewechselt zu haben, was aber in keiner Weise zu Qualitätseinbussen führte. Ich freue mich auf den nächsten Besuche, auch wenn diese wohl erst in einiger Zeit wieder möglich sein wird.

Sehr toller Service, da ich vegetarisch bin gibt es viele Gerichte. Mein Favorit ist reiss mit cocos curry sauce was wirklich mega ist. Es gibt auch Gerichte mit Huhn, Rind, Lamm und vieles mehr

Ausgezeichnetes Indisches Essen. Die Royal Plate Vorspeisenplatte ist ausgezeichnet und bei den Hauptgerichten ist eigentlich alles empfehlenswert!

Ich bin Stammgast und das aus gutem Grund. Das Essen ist einfach fantastisch! Ich kann Kadai Paneer wärmstens empfehlen, mein absolutes Lieblings-Vegetariergericht. Es ist unglaublich aromatisch und hat eine sämige Soße. Meine Freundin liebt das Gemüse-Kofta-Curry. Es ist cremig, würzig und enthält köstliche, frittierte Teigtaschen mit Paneerfüllung. Der Paneer ist hausgemacht, und das macht den entscheidenden Unterschied. Achten Sie darauf, den richtigen Schärfegrad zu wählen. Es gibt eine Skala von 0 bis 5: 5 und 4 sind fast allen zu scharf (niemand bestellt 5, das ist fast schon gesundheitsschädlich ;) 3 ist ziemlich scharf, aber die beste Wahl für alle, die es gerne richtig scharf mögen. Ich esse sehr gerne scharf und war von 3 total überrascht, also Vorsicht! 2 ist „europäisch scharf“. 1 ist für alle, denen Pfeffer schon scharf ist. 0 ist komplett mild (die Wahl meiner Mutter).

Einfach nur WOW! Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf alle zukünftigen Abendessen, die ich in diesem Restaurant verbringen werde. Das Essen ist super lecker. Ich habe jetzt schon 3 mal das Vegetarische Kofta Curry bestellt und es war jedes mal unglaublich lecker. Der Spice, die Creamyness und die Kartoffel-Paneer Dumplings sind einfach himmlisch. Mein Freund schwärmt jedes mal von ihrem Kadai Paneer. Vielleicht werde ich das auch irgendwann mal probieren, falls ich jemals keine Lust mehr auf mein Lieblingsgericht haben sollte. Das Restaurant bietet alles bis hin zu veganen und vegetarischen Alternativen. Neben dem Essen gibt es auch erfrischende Limonaden. Ein perfekter Ausgleich zu der Schärfe! Die Bedienung ist auch sehr hilfreich und nett gewesen und hat uns Empfehlungen basierend auf dem heutigen Wetter und unserer Vorlieben gegeben. Ein absolutes MUSS, wenn man in Lörrach ist und gerade Lust auf indisches Essen hat.

Wir essen regelmässig dort und es ist eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants. Der Service ist top, alle sind sehr freundlich. Das Essen schmeckt jedes Mal aufs Neue. Danke an das ganze Team!

Superfreundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Leckere authentische indische Küche. Ayurvedische Ansatz ebenfalls möglich. Final Cocktails. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt absolut Lösung orientiertes Team das auch Reservation Pannen sofort zu beheben weiss. Freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch.

Super gutes Essen und super nettes, vielseitiges Personal…!

Solides Indisches Restaurant im 1.Stock am Bahnhofsplatz Lörrach. Parken ist dort direkt nicht möglich, man kann z.B. auf der anderen Seite der Gleise an der Straße parken und durch die Unterführungm gehen. Der Service ist nett, die Preise für die heutige Zeit noch moderat. Das Essen war nett dekoriert und hat gut geschmeckt (wir hatten Curry). Das Ambiente ist OK.

We visited Ganges Restaurant for the second time today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. On our first visit, we found the portions a bit small, so this time we politely asked for larger portions – naturally, we were willing to pay extra. The previously friendly owner then suddenly became extremely rude and dismissive, as if we had asked for something unreasonable. Furthermore, the dishes were subsequently served incorrectly: My husband received Chicken Tikka Masala, even though that's what I had ordered, and I received the smaller portion that came with his dish. Our feedback was also met with an unprofessional response, leaving us feeling completely disrespected. I have rarely felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant, even though we remained polite and respectful throughout. We will therefore not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. We also didn't leave feeling satisfied, as we didn't dare order additional rice after the previous reaction.

There were four of us there and we were rather disappointed. The atmosphere seemed cold, and when we arrived at our table, we smelled a strong odor of cannabis, which presumably came through the open windows. As for the food: the prices are very high, and in contrast, the portions are very small. A single thin loaf of bread costs just under €6. We're used to fluffy naan, but it was a single thin slice. The rice dishes were tasty but unfortunately not filling. The presentation was unfortunately not appealing.

A very good Indian restaurant with authentic dishes and fine spices. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit.

The food is always delicious, and there's something for every taste. There's a real variety, especially when it comes to spice levels. Only the exterior is starting to deteriorate over time. Perhaps they'll renovate it sometime soon. The interior has a nice ambiance. Depending on where you sit, it can get a bit noisy at times.

Heavenly, the Veggie Kofta Curry (No. 15) is a dream! So sophisticated, the texture is like a dumpling but with more flavor and interest. We don't even need to talk about the sauce; it's a dream. The Masala Butter Paneer is also extremely delicious. ADDICTIVE :)

Great Indian. I can only recommend it.

Four of us were there for dinner in February. Everyone had a different dish and at the end we had two desserts. All in all it was very good. The Indian spices led to a real taste experience. All dishes were an absolute delight. The curry dishes are served in small, deep pans on warmers. At first glance it seems to be very little. But that's definitely not the case, as there were enough pieces of meat in it. The rice is brought to the table separately. Overall, we had a wonderful evening there with very good service and a brilliant meal. We'll definitely come back. Highly recommended! Of all the Indian restaurants I have tried so far in Germany, I ate here the best.

Direkt beim Hauptbahnhof in Lörrach. Super herzliche Gastgeberin. Zuerst gibt es leckere Papadams. Das Essen ist immer sehr gut und mit getrockneten Essblüten garantiert.

We always enjoy coming to the Ganges Restaurant. All of the service team members are very friendly and accommodating. We always feel welcome and seen as guests. The food is always fresh, tasty, healthy and prepared with love. An all-round great recommendation, both at lunchtime and in the evening.

An Indian restaurant that I recommend to anyone who arrives in Lorrach and wants to eat. The menu does not have many dishes, but the ones that are there cover a fairly wide range of requirements and above all they are very tasty and balanced (within the limits of preferences for spicy dishes). The atmosphere is dreamlike, as soon as you enter you already feel in India. The staff is very polite and efficient. And last but not least, one of the best quality/price ratios I've come across!

This Biriyani was ok I also ate 5-8 forks my friend wanted to eat too then it smelled like alcohol I also ate it and slowly I got really dizzy so you have to be careful

My favorite Indian restaurant. Always fantastic and delicious, no matter what you eat. You can taste that it's not an ambitious hobby chef, but an Indian chef who knows his local craft at the stove and conjures up the right preparation on the plate using high-quality food and original spices. The size of the bowl with the food is visually underestimated because the rice side dish is served separately. If you then add the delicious naan, whether with or without garlic, your stomach will feel quite tight. The whole thing ends with the sweet “must” of the mango lassi and life is perfect. I feel very comfortable in the Indian atmosphere; above all, everything is very clean there and the staff is friendly and attentive. 👍👍👍

We always enjoy going to Ganges. The food, especially the Ayurvedic dishes, are extremely good. The service is courteous and offers advice on choosing the level of spiciness. We also like to drink the homemade lemonade. A small oasis in the middle of Lörrach.

Thanks Ganges Team for a wonderful evening. I have been here this saturday with group of my colleague and we all found an authentic Taste in every meal. Malabar Chicken Stew, Butter Chicken, Lamm Travencore are fantastic. Normally they have very selected Variety. Portion are good price is reasonable. Attractive ambience. Whereas there are many homeless people around Main entrance, as this is on Main railway Station, but I must say the Team is quite caring to keep the premises neat and clean. Very helpful and joyfull staff. We highly recommend this place.

We have been regular guests in Ganges for 20 years. A culinary and authentic cuisine. Here the food is lovingly cooked and beautifully presented. There is something for everyone, whether children or older people are guests. Very child-friendly and helpful team. By the way, it smells very pleasant from the entrance to the restaurant. They have to fight to keep the place clean before the audience stands in front of the place. I thank Gange's team for their efforts. We'll see again

Super delicious food. A bit expensive, probably because of the proximity to the border. The stairwell smells terrible, you really have to do something about it. Even in the restaurant, the smell is almost impossible to get rid of. Very friendly but slightly overwhelmed service.

The food was very good. You have to make a reservation on a Saturday! We ate an appetizer platter. Then lamb curry and chicken with rice 🍚. The portion of the main course was just enough, so we had a large starter... otherwise it would have been too little.

Delicious food but not for people who don't like spicy!

I have eaten in many Indian restaurants during my travels around the world. The Ganges in Lörach makes it onto the podium of the best 3 Indian restaurants I have visited in recent years thanks to its authentic dishes (along with a restaurant each in Bangkok and Phnom Penh)

We sat outside and the weather was fine. Service very attentive and friendly. The food was great, good selection, but quite spicy, although I chose 1 for the spiciness, the waiter had asked specifically - 1 = only a little spicy, 5 = very, very spicy. You can definitely go there. The sharpness issue is of course a very individual assessment.

The food was super delicious!!! Highly recommended!!! The restaurant is located on the station forecourt. But that doesn't affect the ambience much.

An absolute gem in the city! The Indian restaurant Ganges completely impressed me with its authentic cuisine and warm atmosphere. Good restaurant if you want to eat Indian food

Very nice, attentive service and super tasty, very well seasoned Indian food. The only thing that was a bit stingy was the amount of rice (everything is served on one plate at lunch, but the prices are a little lower). However, I was still full thanks to the naan bread I ordered, which was also very good. Price/performance is great at lunchtime!

I always enjoy going to the Ganges Restaurant to enjoy authentic, delicious Indian food! Since I have been to India several times myself, I am very happy to be able to find original Indian food again in this lovingly furnished restaurant, whether South Indian like Masala Dosa or North Indian food. The service is always very nice and accommodating! I can fully recommend this restaurant, whether at lunchtime with the varied, inexpensive and extensive lunch menu or in the evening a la carte!

Yesterday I was at the Ganges restaurant in Lörrach with two colleagues and had the dubious pleasure of experiencing the worst service of my life. The waitress, a young woman with a slightly firmer build, ruined our entire visit with her unbelievable arrogance and unfriendliness. And now she's claiming that we're lying after we've given the review and you can just see what kind of people there are who can't even stand the truth. I made a harmless, joking comment that she resembled someone I knew. Instead of responding professionally, she immediately became aggressive and confrontational, as if we had insulted her personally. (I would have liked to have done so, but I thought the smarter one would give in). Her sharp looks and condescending tone were simply unbearable. But the worst was yet to come. She later claimed, completely baselessly, that we had taken a photo of her and posted it online - an absurd and false accusation. (I keep thinking to myself what a photo must be that someone should post online, but if you haven't got the boys yet, I do can or would help you find them 😂) Even though I made it clear that this was our first time here, she stubbornly stuck to her lie. To this incompetent waitress: Who do you think you are with your arrogant and arrogant manner? Do you seriously think anyone would want to take a photo of you? If you dare to accuse me without reason again, I will report you for slander. Make me feel cool here, all 1 star reviews here are just for the poor service. But I know she's definitely in the family, she's been working there for a long time and they can't throw her out because she's part of the family You should urgently rethink your arrogant attitude and stay grounded. It is absolutely unacceptable to accuse strangers without any evidence or reason. Your arrogance and complacency are simply disgusting. Have you ever thought that you might be wrong? Obviously not. Find a psychologist and get help. Because I actually wanted to throw the rice at you, but I didn't. If not here, I will make myself available and briefly coach her so that she knows the conditions and what means customer is king!

I ate in this restaurant for the first time today with 2 colleagues. Then the waitress comes, a young woman with a slightly firmer build and wants to take the order. Then my colleague remarks with a grin that she resembles someone I know, whereupon I agree with him. Since my colleague giggled because he thought it was a funny coincidence, she felt noticeably attacked and reacted very harshly, confrontational and rude with her facial expressions, look and tone of voice, creating a very unpleasant situation. I wanted to lighten the situation a little and replied that it was a compliment because the woman I knew was pretty. She then gave me a piercing look as if I had insulted her. She took the order and angrily walked towards the counter. My 2 colleagues went down for a smoke when she came to our table again and claimed she knew us. I replied that that couldn't be the case as it was my first time eating here today. She then said we were the 3 boys who took a photo of her and uploaded it online, which her boss then took legal action against. I said to her that can't be the case, I don't know you and I'm seeing her for the first time today, you're confusing us. She said no, I know exactly, it was you. This suspicion out of nowhere created such an unpleasant atmosphere that I lost my appetite. I felt very uncomfortable and wanted to get out of the restaurant. My 2 colleagues then came back and I described this scenario to them. They looked at me in surprise, not sure if I was joking or not, but I confirmed that that really just happened. When the waitress came back, my colleague told her that his sister worked here and that he even worked for a while in the restaurant in Basel for the boss who also owns this restaurant and she confused us. Then, it seemed to me, after the owner's wife talked to her and explained to her that she knew his sister and that he even worked for her husband in the other restaurant, he couldn't be that. Like me, the suspicion seemed to disappear from him, but my suspicion still remained and stared at us strangely from the counter. I really disliked sitting in this restaurant and eating the food I ordered that was already served without any appetite. However, what upset me most about this false accusation was that she was "certain" and portrayed it with an arrogance that made me so angry that I have to take the time to write this review. What In hindsight it turned out that my mother even helped out there for a while about 10 years ago. The owner was very polite and accommodating, the food was okay, but the service, I've never experienced anything like it and it left a lasting impression leave behind. About the conditions, who do you think you are with your arrogant manner, who wants to take a photo of you? Have you ever looked in the mirror??? If such suspicion comes my way again I will report you for defamation and when the police compare the names of the "perpetrators" with mine then you will see whether it was me or not. Don't put your nose up so high and stay on the carpet, you're accusing a total stranger without any evidence or evidence, arrogant and smug and the worst thing is with a conviction as if she were claiming 2+2=4, ever considered that you're wrong could lie?? Not according to the way you say it, but that's the case here, that's the reality. Find a psychologist and get rid of this arrogance. When my colleague gave the boss a tip, he said the tip was only for her (the boss) and not for our service. I hope that the restaurant will soon find a competent and polite service.

Always great Indian food! Everything tastes like in India, great cook, lovable boss and friendly waitresses. Cheap lunch always with soup or salad. Vegetarian, vegan and for carnivores. Ajar and chutney are available free of charge upon request. The level of spiciness can be selected between 1 and 5 when ordering. Namaste

The food was very good😋. The waitress also remembered who (there were six of us) ordered which main course. I was happy about that because I was unsure which number I had ordered and I also didn't remember the name of the dish 🤭😊

Yesterday we spontaneously went to the Indian restaurant Ganges (on a Saturday). All tables were reserved, but the staff tried to free us a table and we were able to enjoy a nice dinner for two. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. The spice and spiciness were perfectly balanced - in combination with the mild rice, delicious! The garlic naan bread was also very good, especially with the sauce. The price is also completely ok and appropriate. Thank you at this point for the good hospitality. :)

Am Mittag gibt es eine eigene Speisekarte. Preiswerte Mittags-Menüs mit Suppe oder Salat als Vorspeise. Das Chicken und das Lamm waren beide super lecker und rassig gewürzt. Zur Suppe gab es noch Naan. Immer wieder gerne!

Very good food, always happy to go there.

I've been here many times. Today I ate as a starter a nice plate with different Indian snacks and a delicious spicy fish. The service is always friendly and aware. I tried a Indian red wine. Even though it wasn't an outstanding wine it tasted great with this meal. The prices are quite fair.

Gut das wir reserviert hatten, das Restaurant war ausgebucht. Viele schweizer Gaeste. Rogan Josh war etwas scharf gewuerzt aber lecker. Tandoori Mixed Grillplatte sehr gut und reichlich. Raita ausgezeichnet. Gemueseplatte wuerde auch gelobt. Lassi gut. Zum wiederkommen

Das Essen wie immer bestens. Das Mittagsmenue-Angebot unschlagbar vielfältig und sehr günstig. Jederzeit wieder!

Das Mittagessen war toll. Man kann auch die Schärfe auf einer Skala von 1-8 wählen. Die Kellner waren super freundlich und die Dekoration ist auch total schön!

Pour commencer, l'ambiance est vraiment indienne, c'est très propre et les prix sont raisonnables. Le service est rapide, et la nourriture est délicieuse. Attention aux personnes qui sont sensibles à la nourriture épicée! Il y a aussi des plats végétariens pour ceux qui préfèrent les légumes à la viande. Je le recommande fortement!

Lust auf indisches Essen verspürend, sind meine Frau und ich mal ins "Ganges" gegangen. Wir waren noch nie dort und wollten es mal ausprobieren. Die Speisen waren authentisch und auch das Personal aufmerksam und nett.

Ich gehöre zur Gruppe mit den 30 Personen, welche letzten Samstagabend einen schönen Aufenthalt hatte. Ich komme hier seit 8 Jahren regelmässig hin um zu essen und eine gute Zeit zu verbringen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und ich hatte hier noch nie eine schlechte Erfahrung. Das Essen schmeckt super, ich wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Das man an einem Samstagabend mit einem Platzmangel rechnen muss, solange man nicht reserviert hat, sollte eigentlich klar sein. Ebenso sind auch Kinder, welche zuteils laut sein könnten, in einem Restaurant durchaus üblich. Der angeblich schiefe Tisch wurde uns anschliessend zur Verfügung gestellt und damit hatten wir auch absolut kein Problem. Ich kann jedem dieses Restaurant nur weitermpfehlen und bedanke mich beim Personal nochmals für den guten Service.

Ich war hier das erste mal essen und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Es hat sich wirklich authentisch indisch angefühlt hier zu essen und geschmacklich hat es genauso überzeugt. Wenn ich nochmal Lust auf indische Küche habe, werde ich hier essen gehen!

Ich war dort gestern essen. Ich habe noch nie ein so aufmerksames Personal erlebt, man wurde regelmäßig gefragt ob man noch etwas brauche. Auch Wasser wurde dem Tisch zwischendurch gereicht, was sehr aufmerksam war. Das Essen war wirklich oberste Klasse und hat geschmacklich 100% überzeugt. Gereicht wurde es in einem Kleinen Topf, in dem es angenehm warm gehalten wurde. Wir hatten sehr variable Gerichte und es war für jeden etwas dabei (vegan, vegetarisch, mit Fleisch, scharf, mild usw.) Ich würde das Restaurant weiterempfehlen an jeden, der ein sehr gutes Restaurant in der Umgebung sucht.

Schönes Ambiente, sehr liebes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und schön zubereitet. Für jeden was dabei, es gibt sogar einen veganen Teil in der Karte. Klare Empfehlung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nach dem Umbau sind wir nun wieder einmal im Ganges essen gegangen. Das Essen war so gut wie vorher und auch das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Unsere Resten konnten wir praktisch verpackt mitnehmen.

Roti / Nan were not even closer to Indian food as they tasted like tortillas. Curry was decent but for the price they charge its 50 % of quantity in comparison to other Indian restaurants in Germany. Atmosphere & services are good but food is. Not great if you want to taste real Indian food

Das Lokal besuchen wir immer wieder gerne. Nach der langen Schließung haben wir uns gefreut das wieder geöffnet ist.Leider wurden wir enttäuscht. Die Serviceangestellten waren sehr mit sich selbst beschäftigt. Obwohl nicht viel Betrieb war war die Wartezeit sehr lang.Als das Essen kam war der Reis kalt.Leider muss ich sagen das in nächster Zeit nicht mehr hier essen gehen.

Ich war bereits in vielen indischen Restaurants und in diesem sind viele Gerichte wirklich fein. Gehen gern hierher. Reichlich gewürzt, nicht einfach nur scharf. Scharf heißt hier übrigens „indisch scharf“ und nicht „deutsch scharf“ :) Die Lammgerichte finde ich sehr gut, das Lamm ist zart. Butter Chicken ist ebenso sehr schmackhaft. Garnelen sind ebenso zart. Tandoori Hühnchenschlegel allerdings fand ich zäh. Ich persönlich meide zudem die Gerichte mit Fisch, fand den Zander nicht sonderlich fein. Empfehlenswert.

As loyal regular clients we headed back to the restaurant after some weeks of being closed for a refurb. We couldn’t see a lot of difference other than the price increase. The food was very good but the staff seemed very unhappy which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable for us. I left half of my curry as I always do and asked to take it home with the extra curry I ordered and paid for. To my surprise my own curry, rice and naan bread wasn’t in the bag and when I kindly asked about it the owner grunted and asked me to wait while she went to look for it🤔. What’s strange is the same thing happened in the Indian in Basel only a few weeks ago, the same family if I am correct. A bit of a coincidence for me..

Leider steht auf der Homepage nicht, dass man mittags nicht von der ganzen Speisenliste bestellen kann. Naan wurden trotz Bestellung vergessen und erst nach Nachfragen hergestellt, leider waren wir schon fast zu Ende mit dem Essen. Salat war nichts. Lieber keinen als so etwas. Bedienung sehr unaufmerksam.

Sehr leckeres Indisches Essen. Sowohl die vegetarischen als auch die Gerichte mit Fleisch sind zu empfehlen. Auch die Limonaden (auch wenn die Kombinationen ungewöhnlich klingen) sind alle sehr lecker. Das personal ist ebenfalls sehr freundlich. Es ist jedoch wichtig einen Tisch (Abends) zu reservieren.

Excellent food. Good vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian Food options. Starters and Desserts are awesome. Much recommended. Central Location..!! Easily accessible by car as well as public transport..!!

Trotz viel Betrieb ist das Personal sehr freundlich und das Essen ist richtig gut! Beruflich bin ich viel unterwegs und probiere so oft es geht indische Lokale. So gut wie hier habe ich es selten gegessen. Auch die ayurvedischen Gerichte sind klasse!
