Fürstenhof in Erfurt

We were at the Fürstenhof again today, November 15th, 2025. And as usual, everything was great: friendly service and delicious food. We'll be back again.

Excellent roast goose dinner! Very friendly service. We'll definitely come back! There were seven of us, and everyone was absolutely delighted and satisfied!

The Fürstenhof country inn is located on the outskirts of Erfurt and offers solid accommodation with down-to-earth charm and regional cuisine. The rooms are very clean and functionally furnished, although somewhat dated. It's perfectly adequate for a short overnight stay or a weekend getaway. Breakfast is simple but fresh and sufficient. The service is friendly, and the traditional approach is immediately apparent. The convenient location with easy access to the motorway is a plus – ideal for travelers passing through. Overall, the Fürstenhof offers decent value for money, though without any particular highlights. Those who don't have high expectations and value peace and quiet will find it a good choice.

I came here as a bus driver and the world is still in order here. Honest German cuisine.... This is the real Germany, as I knew it. Honest and kind people. Thank you for a great experience.

We were there for a funeral service. The Fürstenhof is a perfect venue, located just a 10-minute drive from the main cemetery. We received a warm welcome and were served with a friendly and humorous attitude throughout the afternoon. Replenishment was always ensured, and we were satisfied. The cake was completely homemade and tasted truly delicious. The table itself was spacious and attractively set. We felt very well looked after and cared for!

Our room was clean, but unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Next time, we'll call ahead to clarify.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner on a Sunday. The menu was delightfully diverse, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, all clearly marked. The Ukrainian solyanka was wonderful, the smash burger was delicious, and the apricot dumplings were just as impressive as the dumpling fries. Next time, we'll try the venison burger and the Uzbek lamb plov, and we might also opt for the Steak Au Four, that all-time classic. The extensive drinks menu also caught our attention; it certainly seems like a whiskey lover made the selection. The place is definitely worth a trip; the professionals are at work here. Whether you're by car or bike, you'll get your money's worth. There's even a dedicated SWE e-charging station in front of the building.

We only stopped here for dinner because the hotel was fully booked. The food was excellent. The service was also very friendly. And the manager reserved a room for us at a guesthouse in Schmira.

We were visiting Erfurt and drove the few meters out and were absolutely thrilled. The outdoor area is lovingly arranged. The food was incredibly delicious, and you could feel the love for food. There's also a wide selection of delicious options for vegetarians. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!

My daughter had a perfect wedding celebration at the Fürstenhof. The Thraen family and their team provided us with a highly professional setting for a wonderful evening. Highly flexible and always friendly, we enjoyed our time with them in a family atmosphere. We would love to come back!

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner with our two children yesterday and were more than satisfied! Great service, delicious food (on Thursdays they serve schnitzel—highly recommended), relaxed atmosphere, and a playground for the kids. The chef came out and greeted us. The landlady was very attentive, hardworking, and friendly. We felt very comfortable. Thank you for everything! We will definitely be back.

We spontaneously stopped by FH for dinner today. We received a friendly welcome, and even without a reservation, there were no problems getting a table. Despite the rather large number of guests, the service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. In short, a clear 5-star rating with a recommendation!

We used the Fürstenhof for a memorial and funeral service – and I can only say: Everything was perfect. Even the consultation during the preparation of the event was excellent. The organization was reliable and flexible, and communication was friendly and professional. Both halls were tastefully decorated, and the atmosphere was pleasant and dignified. I would particularly like to emphasize the quality and presentation of the food – it was consistently fresh, lovingly prepared, and very well received by all guests. The team was attentive yet unobtrusive, allowing us to gather together in peace and share memories. A big thank you to Mr. Thraen and the entire team for this thoroughly successful setting on an emotionally significant day. We would definitely be happy to return for another occasion. The Fürstenhof Erfurt is a definite five-star recommendation! We went there for dinner for my father-in-law's birthday and were absolutely thrilled. The food was outstanding, with very good and delicious Thuringian cuisine. What impressed us most, however, was the impeccable service. Our waitress not only repeated all the ordered dishes just in case, something you rarely see these days, but also proactively asked if the children should have their food before us. That was incredibly thoughtful, as it allowed us parents to eat in complete relaxation after the little ones had been taken care of. The atmosphere at the Fürstenhof was also very pleasant. We felt very comfortable from the very beginning. This hotel truly deserves its excellent rating. We highly recommend dining there and assume that an overnight stay would be just as perfect an experience. We would be happy to come back anytime! Thank you again!

Overnight stay and to our great delight it was "Schnitzel Donnerstag", i.e. special price for dinner and free dessert. Nice and service-oriented staff. Super nice! Comfortable beds and good rooms. Proximity to the Autobahn is both an advantage and a disadvantage, since there is a lot of traffic on the street outside. For us, there were no worries.

This was our second visit and the food was super delicious, freshly prepared, and the service was friendly. We'll definitely be back again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Fürstenhof. The rooms were very clean, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was also very good. We even got dinner on the day of our arrival, even though the restaurant was closed. The staff was always friendly. We were there for the funeral of our father and father-in-law and were able to enjoy a lovely lunch with the whole family after the service. Everything was lovingly prepared, and the tables were beautifully decorated. We felt very comfortable there. Thank you again for everything, and keep up the good work.

We stayed here for a short trip. The location is great, not far from the motorway, right on a country road, but still quiet. Unfortunately, the grounds outside give a rather unkempt impression. The rooms are simple and functional. For breakfast, at the agreed-upon time, there were no plates or rolls, and the buffet was empty. Only after asking did they get restocked. For dinner, we waited a full 1.5 hours for our food, which consisted of tough meat and a dry burger patty. All in all, I can't recommend this inn. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio isn't right, and even the helpful hosts can't make up for that.

We're glad there are still restaurateurs like you. They put in a lot of hard work, dedication, and a concept that's right for the region. There aren't many restaurateurs left who do everything they can to make their guests happy. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer German operators. Unfortunately!!! Thank you for your commitment, thank you for being there. Please keep up the good work, don't let it get you down. We thought the food and drinks were great. The ambience suits the area. It's important to us to eat and drink well. We can't comment on your rooms because we don't know them. Perhaps you should hire additional staff during peak season; when we were there, the "boss" had her hands full. We look forward to our next visit.

The hotel is lovingly furnished, with a lovely beer garden. The rooms are simple but have everything you need. Unfortunately, it's a bit noisy due to the street. The service is friendly, and there are no complaints about breakfast; everything was great.

Our wedding celebration on June 14, 2025, at the Fürstenhof was simply unforgettable. From the very first conversation, we sensed the passion and love the hosts put into their work. They not only fulfilled all our wishes, but implemented them with such warmth and care that we felt completely at home. The food was dreamy, the service warm and attentive – and we were able to enjoy the day to the fullest without having to worry about anything. We came here for dinner. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and our requests were accommodated without any problems.

We were only there for lunch, so we can't comment on the rooms or breakfast. There's a lot to say about the food, though. It was extremely tasty and of very good quality. We had the Smashburger with dumpling fries and the asparagus with salmon and potatoes. Both dishes tasted excellent and were prepared without long waits, despite the busy schedule. The service was also very polite, and we felt well looked after. We will definitely return to enjoy more dishes.

A very good restaurant. The menu is a successful mix of Thuringian cuisine and a few foreign dishes. Solid selection of drinks, friendly waitresses and the head of the house does the cooking himself, absolutely great. My entrecote was absolutely perfect. Behind the house there is a beer garden with a small playground, free parking spaces, now also with a charging station. I can't judge the rooms, so far I've always come home 😉 The restaurant is highly recommended and we'd love to come back.

We had a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The food, beef roulade with Thuringian dumplings, was finely prepared and impressed with its good quality. The price level corresponds to today's times and is reasonable for this good cuisine. We'll be back 😁

We were on a flying visit to Erfurt and felt like having ice cream at home. Spontaneously called here to see if there was ice cream to take away. The ice cream sundaes were prepared in a real bowl and we were allowed to take them home. The cups were incredibly tasty and prepared with love. Of course, dishes were returned ☺️ Here you can tell that the innkeepers live for their restaurant.

We recently had dinner at the Fürstenhof again and ordered a brand new burger (we were probably the first ones out of the kitchen). The food in general and last time the burgers are awesome. The burgers were not served with ketchup or mustard or similar but with a homemade jus. That was exactly what was special! We were really excited. As Frienstedters, we are happy to have such a great restaurant right on our doorstep. Not only is the food great and high quality, but the hospitality of the Thraen family and the entire team is also great. They have high standards for themselves - which they definitely live up to! We always enjoy coming to the Fürstenhof 🤩😍

Were there for Schnitzel Thursday. It was just fantastic. Fresh and high quality food. The taste is really fantastic. Plus a free choice of three desserts, all homemade (cake, cream and mousse). We'll definitely be back! The staff is also super nice!

I have been a guest at the Fürstenhof many times and am always completely satisfied and thrilled - as was the case again on my previous visit at the end of March. The hotel is run by the Thraen family in an absolutely professional manner, which I can see again and again from check-in throughout my entire stay to check-out... and despite these high demands on themselves, which are implemented with great enthusiasm and perfection down to the last detail, the Thraens - and also the other employees - never lack inner peace and friendliness, which the family certainly draws from their love for their life's work and their strong professional understanding. The room service is also second to none - the rooms are freshly prepared every day. The restaurant in the house is also fantastic, and is run by Thraens just as carefully, attentively and with love. Fantastically prepared and garnished dishes await the guests, in particular traditional dishes from Thuringian cuisine are offered, which I favor and are real delicacies. I was once again completely thrilled and am already looking forward to my next visit to the Fürstenhof, dear Thraen family!

Good hotel with very friendly staff and free parking.. I went to the Christmas market in Erfurt for the first weekend in Advent and was happy to get out of the city and relax here in the evening. Very good transport connections, my forgotten mobile phone charging cable could easily be borrowed from the hotel team for a few hours, comfortable beds and breakfast on Sunday morning with everything I was looking for and need.

We had a really good time at brunch on Boxing Day. The food was excellent, rich and varied. In addition to various meat dishes, homemade spreads, various vegetables and a large selection of desserts, the service girls were very friendly and busy. I would particularly like to emphasize the extraordinary friendliness and the great effort of the entire staff to give us an unforgettable celebration. I was particularly impressed by the entrecôte - it was perfectly prepared, incredibly tender and an absolute highlight in terms of taste! A buffet was organized for around 50 people. The waitresses were friendly and quick and the quality of the food was very good. Definitely a recommendation and I won't be there the last time!

Simply inviting, cozy and wonderfully located on the outskirts of town. The waitress is super polite and competent. Reads (almost) every wish from your eyes and your smile. The dishes are a homemade, extremely freshly prepared dream Prepared. Means waiting time. But it's worth it and the very cozy dining room is really a place where you can see the attention to detail. The food, as a reminder, is the flagship of every gastronomic establishment. You can tell with every bite that the chef is an absolute professional who leaves nothing to chance. So definitely visit and enjoy as my wife and I did. Recommendation from me 100%

We stayed at the Fürstenhof as a family for 2 nights. The rooms are very, very simple, but clean. The breakfast was completely sufficient for our needs. The running family is very nice and the food in the restaurant is really delicious and recommended.

We ate there and you can't rate it... it was very nice, with friendly staff. There were around 30-40 people and we made reservations in advance and the evening went very well at the restaurant! Would recommend and eat there again

For us as a family with 4 children, a very suitable, convenient location (of course louder due to the connecting street). Rooms were all very tidy and clean. Service good. Very friendly, courteous and thoughtful owners and service staff. Breakfast buffet with eggs, muesli and juice. Menu diverse. Nice, adequate children's playground with a sandpit. Plenty of parking spaces, even an electric car charging station!! Very nice and cozy garden to sit in.

Delicious food and a good selection. It is cozy and nicely decorated. The toilets are super clean and smell floral. Free parking spaces are available.

On August 23, 2024, a barbecue evening with music took place in the Fürstenhof. It was a really successful evening for me and my family. We were there as a young family (2 adults + 1 child) The room was well maintained and clean. Furnishings are very simple but make you feel comfortable (very pleasant, especially with children) Plus points for the extra cuddly soft towels. Above all, the inn is very large and the beer garden is a really nice place to relax. There are even rabbits and chickens to look at. You can't avoid the vesps in the summer, but it's bearable. Food and drinks are good. Above all, the cuisine is quick (without lacking in quality) Above all, it is simply a perfect place to switch off. We immediately felt comfortable. At first I was skeptical about the distance to the city center, but the train and bus connections are very good. It was less than 7 minutes away by car. Perfect for recovering from everyday life in the evening.

The Fürstenhof is one of the few inns in the area. You can get to Erfurt quickly. Parking space free of charge. After two nights, I have to say that it is not a 3 star hotel. It's super loud at night because it's right on a busy street. Be sure to leave windows (you can still hear it). The owner was very nice, but rooms were swapped (first night) which resulted in a sleepless night as we were given a sofa bed instead of a bed. Absolutely not suitable for adults and very uncomfortable. The second night we stayed in the triple room, which we paid for. Towels, soap and a small hairdryer are available in the bathroom. Guest room was on the second floor. Breakfast is available on the first floor. It is very minimal, rolls are baked, salads are not fresh. Sausage smelled and was not edible. Coffee, tea and scrambled or fried eggs are freshly prepared. Coffee is a dark roast and not to everyone's taste. You can take your own juices. Breakfast was not satisfactory for me. Cleanliness 3/5. You can use the restaurant, but the prices are higher than in Erfurt. When checking out asked for a discount, which was given, but with "stupid" comments. Would not use the Fürstenhof service again.

We celebrated our family celebration in the Fürstenhof. The food was very tasty and well priced so that there weren't tons left over. The cake (all homemade) was also very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. The drinks we ordered came quickly. The rooms are cozy and lovingly furnished. The location of the Fürstenhof is very good, as it is easy to reach due to its proximity to the motorway. There are sufficient parking spaces available. A beautiful beer garden invites you to linger. Absolutely recommended!

We had lunch here and it was pretty much the best restaurant visit I've ever enjoyed. The service was warm, caring, courteous and attentive. We were asked about raising seat cushions, special requests and intolerances were fully accommodated - with reassurance from the kitchen - and the food was great: no flavor enhancers, no additives - honest, sophisticated cuisine. Of course the preparation takes time. It was definitely not the last time I was there. Thanks for the great stay!

Lunch at the Fürstenhof in Frienstedt b. Erfurt was good again. We made a good choice with the “Hirsch”. The service was really attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, we had the impression that she was a bit overwhelmed and slightly uncoordinated. We really enjoyed the additional, large pot of gravy. This is not a given. The food is considered stomach-friendly. The tables with the beautiful roses were extremely attractive and very inviting. I would have liked to give a top rating, but the waiting time for the food has to be deducted.

We were guests here often before Corona and were always very satisfied. That has changed today. We got seats relatively quickly even though many of them had already been reserved. We also received the menu promptly but then we had to wait a long time to order. Finally our drinks arrived and my husband's glass was missing. Then I saw a waitress take some food outside, bring it back in, and walk aimlessly through the restaurant several times until it landed ice cold in front of me. We were still waiting for the missing glass, which was finally brought as requested. By the way, we ordered the same food, the only difference was the portion size. After a few bites I had enough and let the food go back. My husband waited another 30 minutes for his food, which was very hot and delicious. A nice waitress was very sorry that I was so dissatisfied and offered me a small discount. We had the feeling that both waitresses were overwhelmed with the number of guests and had little structure. I was actually really looking forward to a delicious lunch and left disappointed and hungry.

It is a lovingly run country inn in a beautifully quiet location in the west of Erfurt, which can be easily reached by tram and then after a few bus stops.

Very tasty and highly recommended. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. There is also a small playground for children, bunnies, chickens and a playhouse.
