Fujikaiten in München

We actually love going there. But it can't be that you have to wait forever even with a reservation.

Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 25 minutes for a table. The waiters practically shove you around the room, ignoring you completely. You feel like you're being ignored. As if we weren't going to be spending at least €30 per person!

We went there for lunch because we were in the area and fancied sushi. We read a few reviews beforehand and wanted to see for ourselves. Our drink orders were taken quickly, and our plates were cleared regularly. In our opinion, the sushi was much too large, barely fitting in our mouths. The taste was okay. Most of the hot dishes were deep-fried, and the first spring rolls arrived after about 30 minutes. The small spoons contained rice with sauce. The total cost was €50 for two lunches, a drink each, and a small tip. We wouldn't recommend it, even though it was quite busy.

The conveyor belt was the only thing that was,cool here. I only saw 4 different types of sushi. No tuna, the majority of the rolls were cucumber or avocado & cream cheese. I came for actual sushi rolls, not cream cheese. The miso soup was decent. I sat there for 15 minutes and decided to leave because it wasnt satisfying and ended up paying $72.80 since it was technically the 90 minute all-you-can eat. Im only in Munich for a week so to have a bad dinner is incredibly disappointing.

Unfortunately, all the hot dishes were cold. Desserts were soggy, and then there was the price of €32 per person. We've been there twice now, and this will be our first and last time. A real shame.

Very tasty, but sometimes there's a lack of variety in the food, and I personally find the chairs very uncomfortable as a relatively tall person, but otherwise very tasty and the staff are nice too.

The sushi here is unfortunately not fresh. You can notice it from the moment you enter there’s an unpleasant fishy odor which already sets the tone. Once seated, it became clear why: the sushi plates rotate on the belt for hours without being replaced and the variety was extremely limited. I actually ended up eating far less than I normally would at any sushi place. The service didn’t help either. The waiters were not friendly. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are definitely much better sushi options elsewhere.

We had been wanting to come here for a long time and were really looking forward to our visit – which made the disappointment all the greater. The conveyor belt sushi was truly awful: hardly any selection, some of the items didn't look particularly appetizing, and what we did try was unfortunately very dry. On the positive side, I'd like to highlight the friendly service, the lovely ambiance, and the truly fantastic location – no complaints there. Nevertheless, we left the restaurant after only about 15 minutes. It may be that it's busier in the evening and the selection is better then – which makes it all the more important, in our opinion, to communicate clearly in the afternoon if the conveyor belt sushi is only available to a limited extent. For us, the visit was a definite disappointment, and we won't be coming back.

I've been sitting here for an hour, still haven't gotten my banana balls. Otherwise the place was good, but because of the banana balls, only 1/5 stars. Otherwise, I don't know, it'll probably be fine.

Unfortunately, the sushi didn't taste good; the kimchi was tasteless. The other dishes at Running Sushi were also below average.

As soon as you enter Fujukaiten – not far from Munich's city center – you're enveloped by that typical aroma of warm rice, soy sauce, and something that smells of the sea, but not of the beach. Plates clatter on the conveyor belt, a quiet hum, voices chattering over each other. The lighting is friendly, slightly dim; everything seems clean, organized, and routine. The reception: warm. The staff greets you with a genuine smile, attentive without being intrusive. You feel in good hands – even though the business is obviously running like an assembly line. A word, a nod, a tablet in hand – and the first sushi rolls out. The sushi quality: solid. Not a culinary firework, but decent. The rice is at the right temperature, the nori sheets aren't soggy, and the fish tastes fresh – not spectacular, but trustworthy. A particularly positive aspect: The selection is broad enough to avoid becoming boring – from classic nigiri to more creative inside-out versions with avocado or tempura shrimp. You can tell that someone here values ​​consistency, not gimmicks. The hot dishes, however, are less convincing. The soups, for example, are too thin, lacking in character, lacking in "umami." They seem as if they come from a different world than the sushi – casual, almost like a chore. When it comes to pricing, Fujukaiten once again shows its modern Munich side: While the all-you-can-eat concept is technically sophisticated and works quickly, at around 30 euros per person, it's in the upper mid-range – not excessive, but no insider tip either. The final impression is of a restaurant that does what it promises – and nothing more. Friendly service, reliable sushi, a coherent concept. Anyone looking for a straightforward evening with solid Japanese food will be satisfied here. Anyone looking for a culinary aha moment will move on. Good, but not great. Stable, not magical.

I've been loyal to "RunningSuhsi" for years. The price-performance ratio and selection are unbeatable.

Some days the food is fresh, some other days is less fresh. If you pay 18 € for all you can eat, don't expect quality for a 3-star Michelin.

We arrived here at 3:40 p.m. and were informed that the lunch menu only runs until 4:30 p.m. Totally fine. But they don't bring out any new food after 4:00 p.m.! The conveyor belt is completely empty. Nobody told us that. It felt like nothing new had been served before, apart from bananas and chocolate pudding. Just the stuff no one wanted to eat before. It's a real rip-off. I'll never order anything from Fujikaiten again. You can lose customers that way.

Delicious, varied, no unpleasant smells or emotions, polite service. It was worth leaving a tip. This is now our favorite fast-food sushi place in Munich.

Shockingly bad food… we came here with my husband for a special occasion and got completely shocked of how bad the food was.. as soon as you enter, filthy smell welcomes you. Nonetheless, the sushi looks all fallen apart, with super poor ingredients and selections, barely any salmon, tuna, full of cucumbers and other cheap ingredients. The top shelve - no comments… extremely dry, over cooked, yellow, greasy peaces of whatever that was - chicken? Banana? Bread? Usually I am not a fussy eater but this place yucked me so much that I could not eat anything after trying 1-2 pieces… And having in mind the price for all of this… such a shame really. Also extremely impolite and rushing personell. I dont even know how this place is still open. Never ever again.

The smell in the restaurant was anything but fresh. The selection left a lot to be desired, even after 30 minutes there. After we asked, my daughter received some fruit. My son didn't get anything. We then left and had to pay full price even though we had barely eaten anything. They were also unfriendly, even though we had paid the full price of €121. I can't understand why a 6-year-old should have to pay the price of a grown-up. We will certainly never be back. There were no paper towels in the restrooms either.

We paid a total of over 70 euros for two children, and the food was a bit disappointing for the high price. Not recommended in the evenings.

The first time I ate at Fujikaiten, the restaurant was a truly delightful experience: beautiful, tranquil music, pre-plated dishes, delicious, exciting food, and friendly servers. Today, however, an unpleasant fishy smell hits your nose, you're barely noticed, and the menu is slapped down on your table. The food is a 2 out of 10. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant.

DO NOT EAT HERE. Placed an order for pick up because it was first result when I searched for sushi in the area and as soon as I walked into the restaurant the place smelt like rotten fish. Seriously like the worst and oldest fishing boat to ever exist. I was 10 minutes early before the time to pick up and asked if it was okay and the front desk lady was so rude and said to leave now and come back when it’s time or to not pick up the order at all?? Did not even offer a place to wait she was just instantly rude. Could have said politely to wait outside but was just so rude. Anyways when we got the food it was a sushi platter which was disgusting the fish was no joke BROWN and even though me and my friends are regular sushi eaters and lovers after 2 bites my friends barfed and we could not even eat the food. —100/10 food and service experience so disgusting I can not in good will even recommend this even to my worst enemies please stay away.

Unfortunately, I wasn't thrilled with my visit. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, and we were given two menus, but we weren't allowed to order from one because the kitchen was supposedly already closed, even though the schedule was supposed to be open for another 15 minutes. The cleanliness also left a lot to be desired: There were several flies in the light strip, the ceiling in the restroom was open, revealing cables and pipes, and a tissue was left on the floor right next to our table the entire time we were there, and no one bothered to remove it. I definitely would have preferred more friendliness, cleanliness, and organization for a restaurant.

My girlfriend and I went out for sushi. It cost €17.90, which is totally fine. The food is great, nothing to complain about, but the staff could be a bit friendlier. I also find it a bit annoying that you have to pay extra for the restroom (€1). Otherwise, everything was fine.

I've been going there since around 2004 and have never been disappointed. The food is always great, whether it's lunch or dinner, with plenty of choice. I'll continue to be a regular customer with my son.

Running sushi is good but the ramen dish was absolutely inedible.

Fun experience, but unfortunately I found it quite overpriced for what you get. Salmon is ok. 🍣 Rice is too vinegary. 🍙 It was also incredibly hot inside which made the whole experience not so pleasant.

I called specifically to reserve a table. The lady on the phone simply said, "Just show up, it's not busy." We arrived within half an hour and couldn't get a seat. Even when we waited and seats became available, others who came in after us were moved to their seats. There's another running sushi place just down the street, so we went there. I'd rather go there 100 times than to Fujikaiten. Absolutely disappointing restaurant.

The food was quite good, nothing special. The waitress arrived very quickly, but she seemed a bit stressed at lunchtime. The restaurant is very tightly packed, and the chairs are unfortunately very uncomfortable and designed for shorter people. Be prepared for back pain, but the all-you-can-eat menu is delicious :)

A very pleasant and delicious restaurant. The all-you-can-eat menu offers a wide selection of Asian specialties. There's not much to complain about the service. They came to take our orders and then regularly to take the dishes. I'd happily come back. I personally recommend the lunch buffet over the dinner buffet, as it saves you quite a bit of money. Overall, I can recommend it to everyone.

A classic, centrally located, running sushi restaurant right next to the Freiheit subway station—priced higher. Fresh, varied dishes (plenty of sushi, salmon, vegetables, savory/sweet fried foods, desserts, etc.). Service is friendly and accommodating to special requests. Sitting on bar stools/chairs isn't very comfortable for two people, but it's right in front of the conveyor belt. It's best to make a reservation in advance. I'll definitely be back!

We had an all-you-can-eat meal and thought it would cost €17, just like usual for lunch. But apparently, the dinner costs €33 per person for the same meal as for lunch. A still water, by the way, cost €7.

Too expensive for the quality of the food, even by Munich standards – €33 per person. Theoretically, you can eat a lot for that, but the selection was so unappealing to us that we won't be coming back. But the staff was very friendly!

My girlfriend and I come here regularly – this time we came with the whole family. Everyone was very satisfied, and the food was, as always, absolutely delicious. To finish off our meal, we were craving something sweet and asked for dessert. The waitress was very friendly and even arranged dessert for us. All in all, a successful visit – we'd love to come back!

How is it possible that in Munich, in 2025, you can’t eat in a restaurant because of the unbearable heat? If restaurants, with 30 degrees outside and even more inside, are not equipped with air conditioning (only a single, miserable fan was turned on—for all the guests!), it’s a clear sign of disrespect toward paying customers who end up being treated in a highly undignified manner. As often happens, customer service—even in Munich—leaves much to be desired. A customer asking for the most basic treatment isn’t even acknowledged.

Unfortunately, we did not like the sushis here. The ingredients were not that fresh, and also the taste of the rice was below average. The food from the second floor (hot dishes) in the conveyor belt was ok. However, we were expecting more quality from the sushi, as they were looking good in the pictures. I ordered a mixed sushi box (uramaki and nigiri): very little fish and too much rice, for me the taste was not good. The waitress while bringing the dishes accidentally bumped into me. The place had a strange smell.

We were there today, and we had a really good Asian experience. However, my daughter is exactly 2 years old, and the lady wanted to take money for her as well. She ate maybe a small piece of fish. In the end, we paid for her, too. So if you want to visit this restaurant, definitely not with a baby.

We actually wanted to go to another sushi restaurant, but as tourists we couldn't find a parking space after visiting a museum. We then had the navigation system guide us there. It was about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot (it was free for a while), the sushi restaurant is located right at the bus station next to the bakery and restaurant. At lunchtime there was a lot going on in the sushi restaurant, especially at the sushi conveyor belt. We chose our food from the menu and you could see straight away how the sushi was freshly prepared. The waitresses were very friendly and you could easily pay with your card. The sushi was very tasty.

1 star – Never again! I was eating at the sushi restaurant with my partner and shortly afterwards I felt extremely bad: severe nausea, foul belching, severe flatulence, massive stomach pain. I couldn't go to the toilet properly or vomit, everything points to food poisoning. We also paid over €80 for two people with a very limited selection and mediocre quality. Are there often. The food is always good. The sashimi in the evening even lures us there from the Allgäu. (1 hour drive) Just a small note. The waitress shouldn't pull the soy sauce bottle away at the table towards the end when people are still eating. That's pretty rude. (The buffet was still open for 15 minutes).

lässt schelchte google bewertungen löschen, um sich besser darzustellen als es ist. habe hier eine takeaway lachs box gekauft. die inside out alaska rolls hatten Avocado, die schon halb braun war, der Reis was sehr matschig, alles war total warm (obwohl ich es bei 3° Außentemperatur nach hause getragen hab). Der Fisch hat seltsam geschmeckt, hab nach 3 Stücken den Rest weggeschmissen. Es gab keine Soja soße dazu und die Box war viel zu klein, was zur Folge hatte, dass das Wasabi auf dem Großteil des sushis vermatscht war. Nie wieder.

All you can eat was supper. All is fresh and tasty. A lot of different smacks. Reserve in advance they are full.

The food is ok, but the treatment as a paying customer is unfortunately subpar. If you pay via Too good to go, you have to wait outside the door and are treated extremely unfriendly and like a supplicant or worse than at the table. I have my doubts that it is legally acceptable to discriminate against a group of customers like this. I'm pretty sure that's illegal as long as to-go is not consumed in the store.
