Nice place to eat after shopping on the Rü or a busy evening!

Actually good! The food was actually delicious. I ordered fish 'n chips and was totally happy with it. The staff was very nice and quick. The beer was poured nicely.

We sat outside for a beer and dinner for two. We felt very comfortable. There is a lot of staff who are also extremely friendly. The service stands out very positively from what you get today.

As always, beer tastes good in an Irish pub, but the prices don't taste good...

Great pub. Very attentive staff, super fast service and damn tasty food. And all of this in a very rustic, very comfortably furnished place. We really enjoyed it here. Karaoke also takes place on Fridays from 10 p.m. However, that was the point at which we left, because here the mood changed because the music felt louder than in any disco and the speakers were audibly suffering from overload. We would have been happy to avoid this unpleasant experience. Highly recommended apart from karaoke, but unfortunately I can't recommend karaoke because the volume is way too loud.

Awesome. Pure Irish feeling. Very good selection of food that still tastes good and of course Guinness on tap. Just the thing after a visit to the Gruga.

It was lovely to pop in here, grab a currywurst and an unfiltered beer. It was my second time here actually, and I would definitely come back again!

The fries are so great, it's rare to get such great fries. The salad with the chicken tandoori was super tasty. I'll happily go there again.

My favorite pub in Essen! Great Irish-style atmosphere and friendly service. The drinks, Guinness beer and wine are very tasty. The fan zone was great and the music events were also of a high standard. The only comment concerns the level of doneness of the meat (burgers and wings too dry), but otherwise great. We didn't eat anything. We found drinks overpriced. 7.50 euros for a mini Aperol, or a little Lillet in a large glass. Staff super friendly. The shop is actually very nice, you just stick everywhere, especially at the back in the karaoke area. Toilets clean and modern, there is also a cleaner there.

Food is okay, but the menu is rather limited. So if you eat there regularly, you'll get through it quickly. Service is very nice. Unfortunately, it's annoying that you're stuck to the floor as soon as you open it... There are enough toilets, but they're not handicapped accessible and they're extremely low.

I was there last Sunday for the first time in about 10 years. Back then, I worked there every day for two months and renovated the restaurant premises. (We had redesigned the bathroom walls and ceiling structure throughout the restaurant.) I was able to get to know the boss, who gave us workers a hearty employee discount on our daily meals. Back then I often ate the Tuscan Burger, which was very tasty. When I visited with a friend on Sunday, I happily told the bartender this as we went in. They didn't seem to be particularly interested, or rather dismissed it as a joke. He definitely didn't take us seriously. He also only spoke broken German and was dismissive and unfriendly. After we sat down in front of the counter inside and after 10 minutes (!) we still didn't get a menu card, we drew attention to ourselves. A burly, bald-headed waiter then came up to us and said he had to reprimand me with an energetic “relax man!” He seemed to feel like he was being bossed around by us because we wanted to order something. We were then allowed to order our food but had to pay immediately (!) in advance, even though we were sitting in the visible area of ​​the counter. Unfortunately, the former Tuscan Burger no longer exists. Unfortunately the boss wasn't in the house either. The food with the cheeseburger and cowboy burger was below average and far too overpriced for the poor quality. Probably due to the prime location in the hyped Rü district. Unfortunately a bad experience.

Prices, for example for a below-average burger, are far too high. The cheeseburger for almost 14 euros and 2! Piece of Garlic Bread on a plate for over 6 euros. That's 12 DM for 2 pieces of bread. Hello?

Nice pub, delicious food and good drinks BUT Saturday evening after a public viewing of the European Championships... completely overcrowded, more and more people came in, no stopping. A huge pub but only 4 women's toilets and 6 men's toilets? The result? Unacceptable conditions in the toilets. The women stood in two rows because they used the two men's cubicles. The three snakes (2 women and one gentleman) had stood all the way up the stairs... The madness. It's no fun to go out for a drink when things are like this... Given the size of the pub, it clearly needs at least twice as many toilets, which is really unreasonable...

I enjoyed watching some Euro matches on their amazing terrace! I enjoyed the Irish stew (not so much the fish and chips). And although there's not much choice in terms of beers, the basics are covered. Loads of staff!

I have known about this house for almost two decades. I love the atmosphere there. The nice staff, but especially the karaoke evenings there and then also the live music. The audience there is also consistently ok. So if you're in the mood for a nice Guinness and want to get your fingers greasy in the finger food basket, you can't avoid the pub. Don't forget to leave a proper tip. Because the service there really deserves it!!! Hopefully I can go there again soon ☺️

imagine wanting to see the Euros in an irish pub and they‘re streaming the Germany game and even wana charge you a fiver enttance fee even though you wouldn’t wana stay for the game (we got here at about 6:30pm just wanted to have a drink now but oh well) They didn’t demand a fee for the other games throughout the week so it’s just money making once again. We have been to that pub several times, the food‘s always been ok. Nothing special. Cologne pubs are cheaper and qualitatively better too. Today was kinda the point where we decided to not pay this location any attention anymore. Sad.

First of all: I'm pissed!!!! It was never advertised that the pub charged admission today. Not on the website, not on Facebook and not when we were there yesterday. There was nothing on the tables. We didn't want to see PotatoCountry today, we wanted to see Scotland. Instead we get there, everything is cordoned off and there is a 5 euro entrance fee. This is an outrage. Even if you didn't want to watch the games, you couldn't go into the pub to eat. Thank you for the past time, but you have now lost me and my friends, as well as colleagues. We can be kidding ourselves!

Great atmosphere. Different types of beer. Fast service. Unfortunately it is always very crowded late at night. When you go to the toilets you have to fight your way through.

I'm sorry...but if RWE hooligans simply grope women there without any consequences and then hit the respective partner, you can't leave a rating other than just one star. If the answer here is “if you had told us, we would have turned the people out of the store immediately”. That's what we have....Get well soon to those people. That was definitely my last visit there. I would rather pay 2-4 euros more and have a more pleasant clientele in return.

The public viewing was organized catastrophically today! Although people regularly left the area, no one was allowed in. The security was overwhelmed and rude but still felt like God...we left during the first half.

The public viewing was far too crowded today, no view of the monitors, lots of people who just came to watch and had their own drinks. No escape routes or clear paths for helpers; the “security” is a joke.

Cool place to watch the European Championship games. Despite the large number of guests, the food came very quickly and was very tasty. Unfortunately, some guests were unable to leave the toilet properly.

Come here often for chicken schnitzel and fish and chips. And of course Guinness. Tables could be a little cleaner, otherwise everything was great.

Such a great place , has alot of different cultures in such an amazing harmony. Karaoke was great .

Well, the first words of a waiter were "Don't let them in, they're drunk" (maybe he thought that because he's never seen people with leather pants in his life. Our waitress was also very unfriendly. The Irish Burger has Mc Donald's quality, not recommended. Will never visit this place again and would rather spend our money elsewhere.

Every Irish pub in Germany is somehow the same, none of them are good. The place has been around forever. It is huge, but there is still no guarantee of space (which is not to be understood as a negative thing). There is also an outdoor area as well as plenty of TVs. The prices have always been steep, but it exudes the individual charm of a McDonalds in the medieval style. The waitresses always seem stressed and mostly only speak a little German, which is okay in individual cases, but seems strange as a concept. Almost like a show. The big finale on my last visit was that I asked two waiters for the bill three times and still had to wait 20 minutes. The menu is even relatively unusual (food from the island, schnitzel, currywurst, but also something Indian or something like that), but it's just pub food (which is fine). Conclusion: The place you've been going for ages when there's nowhere else on the Rü.

Sometimes you have to stand at the bar downstairs for 10-15 minutes until you are served. Then people who have only been there for 1-2 minutes come in front of you. Last time I left because it was just too stupid for me. It's always overcrowded and you can hardly move around. Will avoid it in the future.

Great pub! Were in town for the course. Reserved a table for the Champions League via email. Everything worked out perfectly. The burgers 🍔 were world class! Light beer on tap 🍺 and last but not least, BVB 🖤💛 prevailed. Perfect evening in the perfect ambience! Should I be in Essen again, a visit is definitely planned ✌️

As far as Irish pubs go, this one is a classic. You instantly feel at home and welcome in the relaxed atmosphere and can speak English or German with the waitrons. The food is great value for money. Husband and I both had fish and chips and agreed that they were great - best tartar sauce ever!! We’ll definitely be back, thanks guys.

Very good selection of food, best beer, very friendly service

I really enjoy being in Irish. I've already spent numerous hours at Friday karaoke. Sung myself. More bad than good. But whatever. Most people there don't mind! And the cider tastes great too! The only downside is that it is so popular that it is often too crowded. The service also tries to accommodate the crowds of people! Which, for the most part, they manage to do! Always very happy again!

It was super fun and enjoyable. The food was delicious and very worthy of a pub. Good basis for the rest of the evening. We then attended the karaoke party on Friday. It was a great atmosphere and very entertaining. Almost too full. But just Friday evening. The staff and the associated service was very good. Thank you for that and we will definitely come back.

It was my first time in this Irish pub and I received a warm welcome. We were immediately shown to a free table where we tried a variety of beers from the specialty menu. The selection was impressive and we really liked the ability to order smaller beers to try different varieties. The atmosphere was typical of an Irish pub and we really enjoyed it. Even though we had already eaten, we were completely satisfied. It was a great experience and I would definitely come here again when in Essen. It was almost a stroke of luck that we came across this pub. And there was even the opportunity to watch football matches - at the time of my visit there was a third division game on.

We met for a nice evening with football and good drinks. Unfortunately no one ate anything but what I saw looked good and the plates were all empty. That's always a good sign. Despite the size, the atmosphere is very cozy and well-kept. The prices are acceptable and the service was quick, friendly and very attentive. All in all, I can only recommend the Fritzpatrick.

A rustic pub. The shepherd's pie is good, simple but delicious. The Guinness is good too. Unfortunately, the Pils is always a bit stale. The service is often mixed but rather lackluster and slow. Unfortunately, the tables inside and outside are always a bit sticky. In the evening you can drink a good Guinness here.

Good morning dear owner of Irish Pub Essen, I'm very happy with your pub and I'm a guest at your place from time to time. Unfortunately, I have to make a short report about yesterday. Unfortunately we couldn't celebrate with you yesterday after the Rose Monday procession. After we bought drinks from you yesterday before the move, my wife and daughter had to go to the toilet and were refused entry on the grounds that entry costs 5 euros per person. I think it's a real shame that you couldn't even go to the toilet briefly without having to pay an entrance fee. Even when my wife said she would pay 2 euros for it, she said no. In the end, of course, she had to pay the 5 euros, otherwise she would have peed her pants. I ask you to be a little more sensitive on such a topic. That's why I unfortunately only have to give you 3 stars for the service. We are still happy to come to you. Best regards Marco
