Bad experience with the inn: We booked and paid for a room through a booking platform four weeks before our planned arrival. Upon check-in, we were told that everything was fully booked. So, after a four-hour drive, we had to find an alternative ourselves. No advance notice was given, even though all contact details were available. This is unacceptable behavior. We've never experienced anything like this before when booking a hotel. Therefore, we don't recommend this inn.

The food was incredibly good, but quite expensive. The service was overwhelmed, unprofessional, and bossed around. I waited over an hour for a simple water, which I ordered several times. The service was absolutely terrible. The burger and fries, however, deserve 5 stars!

After reading so many good reviews, I thought I could look forward to a pleasant evening. However, the waitress was completely overwhelmed by our group and hadn't managed to bring everyone their drinks even an hour after ordering. Even after being asked three or four times. The food arrived after about two hours and definitely didn't blow me away. A bland, no-frills burger at a high price. And what I found worst was the way the waitresses treated us, as guests. In a marching tone, without any please, thank you, or apologies for taking so long, we were bossed around and told to put our plates and glasses in their place. I'm happy to give instructions to make things easier for the staff, but I find this kind of attitude, demanding this, unacceptable. Maybe the manager should teach his staff how to do real service! Not like this, anyway.

Great food, friendly staff, a cool guy at the Frittenschmiede. We were there in May by bike and stayed overnight. Prices were reasonable and the location was great. BVB fans welcome. We'll definitely be back next year. The rooms were simple but super clean and spacious.

You should definitely go there. Plenty of space for bikes and riders, everything neat and clean, friendly and relaxed staff. The food is also great and prices are fair. That's how it should be.

We had dinner at Friedchen with our group. A very cozy atmosphere, very friendly service, and a very diverse menu. The food was prepared in a reasonable time. Everything was absolutely delicious and we were completely satisfied. We would gladly go back anytime. The price/performance ratio was absolutely reasonable.

Extremely good meat, fries cooked to perfection, and a not-too-sweet Coke. I'm speechless and feel like I'm on vacation in Spain. If you're in the area and hungry, you should definitely eat here. I'll definitely check out the menu. 😁😏

What a delicious meal 🤤 Highly recommend the shashlik (the meat is so tender it falls apart when you pierce it with a fork), the mushroom schnitzel with a great sauce and top-notch fries, and the ultra-delicious Cheese Buster Burger—you can't get more cheese than this 😀 On top of that, great and friendly service. Thank you. We'll be happy to come back.

Hello, unfortunately, there were four different dishes, all of which could have been improved. Two dishes were too salty, two were tasteless, the sauces were watery, and the fries were sold out. The service was smoking, and the smell of cannabis wafted past every now and then, but the view outside was good. The prices were obviously too high for the service. Once, never again.

Unfortunately, a bitter disappointment – we won't be back. Since the change of ownership, this restaurant has declined significantly in every respect. The quality of the food has deteriorated significantly – the burger was poorly prepared, and the portion of fries was an absolute disgrace: tiny and not even remotely satisfying. But even more serious is the behavior of the new management. There seems to be no genuine interest in running the business successfully and with respect for the guests. Instead: derogatory comments about the villagers, disparaging remarks about the previous owner, and a self-promotion as if they were the pinnacle of gastronomy. As long-time regular customers, we are not only disappointed – we are shocked by this attitude. This change of ownership has made the restaurant completely intolerable for us. This was our last visit. A frank word to everyone in the surrounding villages: Think carefully about whether you want to leave your money with someone who openly belittles you and shows no appreciation whatsoever.

Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed today. It was my very first time there and I had the pulled pork burger. Everything was excellent, except for the pulled pork, which tasted spicy with the tuna sauce. I asked others to try it, and they all agreed. The other burger was very good, though. As I said, everything was excellent!! THAT'S WHY I gave it 3 stars. I'd happily go back to try another burger.

Hello, we went to dinner at Friedchen after our wedding. It was lovely there, although the weather was mixed. The staff was fantastic. The food was fantastic. We were all completely satisfied. The prices are great and not too expensive; we'd love to come back.

We visited Friedchen's Gasthof for the first time today. Like all of you, I read the reviews here beforehand and I must honestly say I had mixed feelings about going there. However, I must also honestly say that I don't understand some people's ratings. We were completely satisfied with everything!!! More than satisfied, in fact. The service was incredibly attentive, the food was absolutely amazing. I definitely couldn't open it, even though I "only" had a burger without a side dish. The ambiance has a wonderful flair, and I highly recommend everyone try it for themselves!!! A little tip for anyone who might have had a "bad" experience with Friedchen's: Give it a second chance. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, which shouldn't really happen in service, but the staff is only human, after all!!!! I will definitely visit this inn again.

The table outside was dirty, and the waiters were insulting each other behind the counter. Unfortunately, after more than an hour, we still hadn't received any food. Very disappointing.

We returned for the first time since the change. The service was mediocre. The food was cold and inedible. Unfortunately, I no longer recommend it.

We went there this weekend with a few girls and two dogs. My dog isn't very restaurant-experienced yet, and unfortunately, she barked a lot and often – but the way the staff treated her was incredible. They showed respect, tolerance, and total understanding. I was truly grateful for that. We had a great time, the service was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. A very nice restaurant. The food was delicious (the schnitzel was very good, the burger was huge). The service was polite and prompt. From the upper terrace, you can see and be seen. The lower terrace is beautifully secluded by the river. We'll be happy to come back.

We've been there twice and would eat there again anytime. The terrace overlooking the Möhne River is very nice. The street-side terrace is more for bikers who want to "watch." Very tasty food. The service is friendly, but unfortunately a bit unprofessional. Especially on Thursday (Corpus Christi), we almost died of thirst and had to wait a long time for an order to even be taken.

We've eaten here at the biker meeting place twice now... simply delicious. The shashlik was a dream. Buttery soft and perfectly seasoned. The service was super friendly, and our little Goofy (a toy poodle) was warmly welcomed. It definitely won't be the last time we're there.

After the change, we wanted to give it another chance. The service outside was positive; everyone was friendly and on the ball. But the food, unfortunately, wasn't that great value for money. I ordered a portion of fries with mayo for an adult, and at €5.00, it actually covered a breakfast plate (maximum one child's portion). A crust with asparagus, mushroom sauce, and two fried eggs with fries for €19.90 – plus €1.50 for mayo. I should add that the portion was good, but it was drowning in coarse pepper, and the sauce contained lots of hot, albeit small, chili pieces, which, by the way, I can't tolerate at all. When I pointed this out, I was met with an "oh, oh, and the plates were cleared away..." It's a shame, if something like that happens, it should be listed on the menu; it can backfire on people with allergies. Apart from that, it simply doesn't belong in a mushroom sauce. The best burger shop on Lake Möhne. I love the burgers and the schnitzel. I used to visit the shop in Dortmund, and now I visit it on Lake Möhne. The quality is always top-notch, and the price-performance ratio goes without saying; it's just true. A lot of love goes to the attentive team, as always. They brought a high chair for the child straight away, and the dogs were no problem either.

The location is super friendly, the staff is very friendly, and the food is excellent. A great day trip destination away from the Möhne River.

We stayed at Friedchen's for one night. A great location for cycling around Lake Möhne. The accommodation is highly recommended. Good value for money. Nice owner and friendly staff. The burger was very good. Breakfast was also good. Everything was very relaxed and the atmosphere was pleasant.

I had registered a motorcycle group for May 11th, at around 1 p.m. The day before, the number of people and the time were confirmed again; a very pleasant contact on the phone. I'm writing a week later; that's how long it took to look back with less emotion. One of our three tables waited over two hours for their food. We're sociable people and know how to chat, but being forced to take a longer break than this, given the length of the return journey, wasn't planned. At my table, the food order was requested listlessly, with a stubborn stare at the electronic assistant. Due to a lack of eye contact with the table, the order was sent, despite repeated "nos" to the server's question as to whether that was all. The information that two more guests wanted to order was apparently lost in the typing on the screen. We were obviously such a nuisance that she didn't even want to see us. Her response to my "I'd like to order something too" was: "I've already sent it out!" Excuse me? A few minutes later, a burger without fries landed on the table. It was obvious that something was wrong. All the surrounding tables received their food at the same time. When I asked about this oddity with my meal, the answer was that the kitchen was busy and the burger was just ready. Excuse me? My burger arrived for the first time without fries, much too early, without the rest of the table's dishes, and the patty was cold. That's what I call a classic kitchen stall, something they tried to sell me. Two bites, immediately complained, and I was asked if I wanted the burger reheated. Excuse me again? So that was the highly-awarded Classic Burger 🤮 That was enough! My appetite was gone. I declined politely and asked for a message from the kitchen. This didn't happen, and as the organizer of this stop, I left your restaurant at a screeching halt without eating, on a day with a total of 400 kilometers. I've never experienced that before – unbelievable but true. I myself have been in the hospitality industry for more than 10 years, starting at a very young age of 14, and I know how to treat guests and handle complaints: "I'm sorry, I'll fix it right away!" You should discuss the (non-)reaction of the wait staff and the kitchen to my justified rejection of unacceptable, cold food that had been forced upon me to eat alone with your team, as well as mental arithmetic exercises for processing a payment transaction! You had a single, competent waitress downstairs at the Möhne terrace that day, who confidently, friendly, and competently resolved every problem at the neighboring table regarding waiting times or incorrect or missing parts of the order. Both this employee and the competent young woman at our table represent your establishment as the face of the establishment. And this poem presented itself as poorly trained in the use of technology, uninterested in communicating, unable to engage with guests, completely incompetent in its professional capacity, socially unsuitable for the job, and incredibly bad at adding up amounts. Service is more than slamming a plate of leftover food onto the table so that the guest – while the rest of the table watches – can shovel it in without complaint. Responding snappily or irritably to legitimate questions (are there no fries? Eating together with everyone? Burger cold!) and quickly disappearing back to the table with the crisply tattooed bikers who apparently promised to offer more fun. Friedchen's will remain in my memory as the establishment that wiped out the anticipation, appetite, and hunger of someone bringing 25 guests due to the incompetence of your staff. We ate at Friedchen's with the family today. Since the new owner has largely left the menu as it is, we ordered familiar dishes: schnitzel and burgers. The portions are significantly smaller and the quality is lower. The schnitzels are really small compared to the old owner, so you barely felt full. Both the schnitzel and the fries were very greasy, and the fries lacked seasoning. The waitresses tried hard but seemed very inept and simply unprofessional. We were very disappointed with our visit; for the high prices, you could go elsewhere. The focus here is clearly on profit, not quality and customer satisfaction. What a shame!

A very nice atmosphere. I sat right by the river and had a truly wonderful evening, one I haven't had in a long time. The schnitzel was delicious and the mushroom sauce was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it. What sets Friedchen's apart is that it's no problem to bring your four-legged friends, who even got water without asking.

Biker meet-up exploration tour – our plan to check out the biker meet-ups within a 100km radius of Bielefeld led us to Friedchen's Inn and Chip Shop. The route appears to be straight, but it does have some very nice curves. The team at Friedchen's Biker Meet impressed us. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and always ready for a chat. It was quite busy, with about 30 motorcycles parked outside, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We'll be back! Claudia and Thomas

We ate at the restaurant on Sunday and had just looked at the reviews out of boredom. 😳 Ohh ohh we thought... this could be a disaster. New owner??... people who were apparently unhappy with the food and staff? Well, we had a table reserved, so we went. We were proven wrong. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The food... burgers/schnitzel/fries were simply delicious. Everything that was on the menu was also charged accordingly. No extra fries and no other inconsistencies. If we hadn't looked it up beforehand, we probably wouldn't have noticed the change of ownership.

Yes, there was probably a change of ownership. What the hell. As a biker, I'm glad that meeting places like this still exist. The food, as usual, was rich and tasty. Price performance ok. The service was friendly and nice but not yet on the track of what was coming. Give the people a chance.... otherwise without our support the biker meetings will die out.....

May 11, 2025 Under new management, the taste and portion sizes have decreased significantly. The first and last visit for us today. What a shame! I think you have to give the girls from the service a little more time. They seemed a bit overwhelmed with everything today and sometimes couldn't give any information about the food. *stars adjusted* Rating from 2024: As always when we are here it was just great. Great food, great service and no wish was left unfulfilled. A lot is made possible for the guests. Besides, it's always a "coming home". We look forward to seeing you again soon. Keep it up 😊

Provided with water bowl. I was pained to discover that the 2021 burger did not survive and was taken off the menu. Compensated with another delicious finger food platter. Plus variations of fries, bacon cheese and sweet potatoes. We have to discuss a double wings plate, they are divine. Thanks for the cappuccino recommendation, it rounded everything off perfectly. There is a new menu, which of course needs to be tested. We will report... Today there were finger food starter plates, sweet potato fries with chicken strips for my wife and the 2021 burger for me. Wow, extremely tasty and almost bursting. Very tasty, even the latte macchiato for a little initial faux pas... Unfortunately I have to change or rewrite my review from last year! We went there for dinner shortly after it reopened. We didn't know anything about the change of ownership. Many schnitzels, like my beloved chili cheese schnitzel, are no longer available. I then decided on a Champion schnitzel with fries. Absolutely no comparison to before: schnitzel small, little sauce, fries cold and sticky. We were disappointed. Really a shame! Must have been there for the last time.

There were six of us and despite asking, we still weren't served after 30 minutes. Service therefore poor. We then drove on to a restaurant and there were no problems there.

We were there on May 1st, 2025. I've known Friedchens since it opened there years ago. Now there has probably been a change of ownership!? The food was m.n. a little better than before but the service was a total disaster! The service delivered a lot of things incorrectly or not at all. It took forever for the service to come. The fries that were supposed to come with the burger according to the statement were charged extra in the end, what a disgrace! At the end, some of the calculations were incorrect when paying...sorry, but that shouldn't be the case! When you're new, mistakes can happen - we're all just human, but then you should practice a little more, especially before big rush days (holidays, etc.) so that everything works more smoothly! It was the last time I was there (for now), even though I actually always enjoyed being there! Too bad!

I would only give half a star. There is a new operator, the staff is unable to take an order correctly and calculating change doesn't work either, we had to calculate it in advance. When asked repeatedly whether the fries were included in the price, the answer was "yes", but in the end everything was charged individually.

Very bad service, incompetent staff and a chef who obviously doesn't know the menu. We waited over an hour for our food, one burger was missing the fried egg, which is included on the menu, and one burger was missing the second patty, which is also included on the menu. When we asked if the fries were included, we got the answer “yes, fries are included, unless you take croquettes or fried potatoes”, but when we paid, the fries were charged extra. On top of that, the waitress couldn't do the math in her head and gave almost €10 short of change. If I could I would give 0 stars!!!

I have a nice room and have just eaten an excellent schnitzel. I was even asked for feedback, I think it's great when someone who sells a product wants to know how others or guests like it. Unfortunately, I no longer find that so obvious today. Therefore thumbs up. I have to try one of the burgers tomorrow.

The rooms are very clean and well maintained. You can sleep very well there. The staff is friendly and nice. A nice atmosphere and really delicious food. Always my pleasure.

Guys, we can still recommend you to take a look. Despite the change of ownership, the cable is as cool as usual and what can I say, people have the best fries 🍟 that I have ever eaten since I was a child! The team is still getting used to it a bit, but that's how it is in many local places at the beginning of a season! I'm excited but confident about how a visit with bikerkids will be judged. Our second visit and again we were not disappointed. Nice staff, delicious food and absolutely reasonable prices. Clearly a reason for me to come back. Because the map has not yet been fully explored. ;)

We were here with 6 people. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The food tasted very good and the portions are generous. The prices are reasonable for that. However, the warm chocolate cake for dessert wasn't even lukewarm, so only 4 stars for the meal. But we had already noted this directly on site. It is an old building, nicely decorated and rustic in color well coordinated with very thick external walls. Personally, I found the rooms to be cool, hence a star deduction for the ambience.

9/7/24 - 12 p.m. Plus minus approx. drove past it by chance and thought oh, it looks nice. We were very hungry after being in the Bilstein Wildlife Park. When we arrived we were immediately greeted very nicely by the young man who was standing there in the snack bar. We - 2 people and 1 dog. Of course the dog was allowed in. So we were able to choose food together. Afterwards we went outside where it was very comfortable. Everything there is very clean! Ordered currywurst, fries, bratwurst, chess kebab. The food was ready super quickly. The entire meal tasted really good. However, the Schachlik was particularly tasty. Which is why we ordered more and ate two straight away *laughs*. By far the best chesslik I've eaten in years!!!!! The hammer! Food top, service top, price performance perfect. We would love to come back!
