Nice breakfast buffet for a fair price. €16.90 for food, juices and filter coffee as a flat rate in the buffet. It is advisable to reserve. Good selection - I personally would have liked more sauces as well as Nutella or some kind of nut nougat cream. But everything is fine. Service was friendly and nice. However, a little slower when it comes to clearing the tables. But with only one service person absolutely understandable.

Very bad. We stood at the entrance where we were asked to wait for a while without anyone in sight. After we sat down in a rather empty restaurant we were told in a rather unfriendly manner that there was no room, never again! Now sitting with the neighbors, we have been warmly welcomed

There was nothing going on upstairs yet, but we still waited a long time for drinks. The food even came before the drinks. The side salads were forgotten. The portion of Bavarian onion roast was very poor for €28 and it wasn't traditionally prepared in Bavaria either. Our criticism was answered with a “Yeah” by the young lady who served us. According to the motto "I'm not interested". We haven't experienced that yet... We wouldn't come here to eat again.

For the money, I actually expected more. Baked rolls...and nothing else special. But the restaurant is very cozy.

We were there for brunch today. Conclusion: very disappointing. Hot water for tea only came when we asked and we were initially told that it was there (which wasn't the case). From a tea drinker's point of view, it was the worst, although there are now also very good ones in bags. Scrambled egg was cold. White sausages too. Very poor selection of sausages. Buns very dry. Kaiserschmarrn was supposed to be available from 11 - but it wasn't until later. Unfortunately, this was not recommended either. Dry, not fluffy. We expect something different from the prices that are quoted. Very unfortunate. Friendliness of the staff: When you were looking for a container for the table rubbish, you were shat on when you tried to take a cup. Can you actually communicate differently? Guest King? Unfortunately not.

Extremely rude staff, told us to get out of their restaurant since we were just wanted drinks and some fries. There’s plenty other restaurants in the area with nicer service and food.

Simply outrageous. We were told by the waitress we could choose a table from the free ones. We took the bigger one. A waiter then came and said in a rude tone that our table was reserved and he didn't believe the waitress meant our table. We then left. This is how you scare away guests.

We're going to the Christmas market on a Thursday evening. Of course it was very full and we were lucky to get a table at the entrance. Afterwards we also knew why... Despite the double doors, these two were always open and or when you pushed them out, they stayed open and there was a draft like pike soup. We closed the second door what felt like 20 times. Tip to everyone only sit at the front in summer otherwise go further into the restaurant if there is space.

We wanted to celebrate our Christmas party comfortably with around 30 people. That wasn't possible! We were immediately greeted with the words: “If you want something to drink, you don’t have long!” After a good 2.5 hours the bill was suddenly charged and the waiter said: “Nice evening” and the evening ended early. The small portions of cheese spaetzle that were brought were drowned in cream and didn't taste good at all. It was also uncomfortable because we were asked to condense the seating options. Colleagues who didn't want to eat much or, unfortunately, nothing at all were treated more than unkindly. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the store.

Food was very tasty and everything was well organized. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy and you think you are in Bavaria or Austria.

Ambience is really nice. We were there as a group of >20 people. Food was average in terms of quality and portion size, but in a significantly higher price segment. The drinks were also rather expensive. We felt like we were being handled rather than being served in a friendly manner. A well-organized shop that is visibly geared towards profit according to the American model (eat quickly, refill the table quickly). Not the right place for a cozy evening for us.

There were 4 people for the breakfast buffet. The restaurant was very well attended. Buffet everything you need for breakfast. It was immediately refilled when something ran out. What wasn't so good for us was the coffee from the large container. At the beginning the temperature was just ok. Then it just got warm very quickly. Most guests don't like drinking lukewarm coffee. The problem would have to be fixed very quickly. €16.90 not a bargain but again today. All 4 were otherwise satisfied except for the lukewarm coffee.

I had Käsespötzle for €15 without herbs or anything like that, it was more of a cheese porridge than spaetzle. When I asked, it was explained to me that they had been like this for years and everyone was happy. In my opinion, far too expensive

Drinks are completely overpriced. The staff must earn extremely well, but still expect tips. Brazen!

You sit well. But all three (different) meals for us weren't really warm. The service could have been more attentive (also otherwise). The toilets are sometimes narrow or obstructed. We don't plan on coming back.

Snack plate for 2 people was very tasty. Service was very friendly.

Man wußte nicht welche Bedienung jetzt für einen zuständig ist... Ein Mädchen war sehr Unfreundlich und hatte nicht wirklich Lust zu arbeiten. Das andere hingegen war sehr bemüht. Waren dann schon selber an der Bar und haben unsere Getränke selber dort bestellt und geholt weil niemand kam und fragte ob wir noch was wollen. Und sooo voll waren es nicht kenne ich besser bei wesentlich mehr Betrieb. Das Essen war nur lauwarm. Geschmacklich gut aber das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis steht in keiner Relation. Für dieses Gericht habe ich in Bayern nur die Hälfte bezahlt absolut überteuert (Franziskaner Pfanne). Nachtisch Waren lecker aber auch ziemlich teuer !! War das erste und letzte Mal das wir dort waren.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. Even the delicious bread was replaced with plain white bread.

Food was top. Monk plate!!! Rarely get such a good knuckle. Kaiserschmarrn, great!! Prices, you have to be able and willing to afford them. Monk platter for 2 people, €25 each Kaiserschmarrn €12.50 The knuckle fries also looked very tasty. Better reserve a table!

Good food in a nice brewery atmosphere

The food from the breakfast break was very tasty. If something was no longer there, it was replenished very quickly.

We had to send the food back, it was so bad. Everything from the fryer that had clearly not been cleaned properly. Staff was also very disinterested, just a shame.

Es gab alles was das Herz begehrt , süß oder salzig, Obst aber auch Gemüse , Brötchen , Brot oder Croissant . Wer da nicht satt wird ist selber schuld. Gut finde ich das auch Getränke dabei inkludiert sind , es gibt Kaffe Tee , Säfte verschiedenste Sorten und das beste , auch Sekt gehört dazu :)) wer dann noch nicht genug hat , kann noch über die Nachspeisen herfallen :) also alles in allem super.

For years when we shop in Centro we often eat at the Franziskaner. The food remains good and the atmosphere is always pleasant.

Just had a delicious meal, extensive menu, cozy atmosphere 👍 and very friendly and helpful staff! We will definitely come back here!

The food had nothing to do with Bavarian cuisine. Tastes like a retirement home, hardly any taste. The chef should do an internship in Bavaria.

We ate very well. The service was very attentive and friendly.

So the food here doesn't taste good at all, that's a big insult to Bavarian cuisine and you should be ashamed of it

Leider wird die 2.Etage zu wenig eingesetzt. Damit könnte man das Lebhafte etwas entzerren . Das Personal gibt sich sehr Mühe.

Coffee luke warm, prices way too high

Very delicious food ( and a lot), service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere is so beautifully German. Great price aswel. Eventhough it's in a touristic area, It didn't feel like that. Highly recomended. We will return if we are ever in oberhausen again.

Unfortunately there was neither Nuremberg nor roast pork. The starter was delivered together with the main course. Otherwise it's really delicious. ♥️

Since the renovation, prices have doubled and quality has decreased. The schnitzel was fried to death and the mushroom cream sauce was a greasy soup with 3 small mushrooms and the whole thing for just under €30, absolutely not justified. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it. The prices for the breakfast buffet were also unjustifiably increased. There is nothing different on Saturdays than on Sundays, the menu just reads differently and costs €5 more. Service just like that. At the breakfast buffet a waitress ate her bread in front of all the guests behind the counter instead of serving, at dinner the service was okay.

Four of us were there for breakfast/brunch. The buffet is hearty and sufficient in terms of selection. Juices, coffee and Secco were included and available in sufficient quantities. There was sometimes a traffic jam at the buffet. The tables are close to each other which also led to satu. The waitresses were friendly and always tried to refill everything at the buffet. There was a delay in clearing the plates (but understandable given a full shop) we'll be happy to come back 😊

Nice shop in the front row. Of course the prices here are accordingly. Drinks perhaps a little excessively high. Ambiance is good and service was friendly. Toilet also clean.

The food is incredibly good. Good middle class, more Bavarian/Swabian but always with a little twist. The employees are very attentive and friendly. The ambience is also great! Everything is very rustically clad in wood, but in no way looks old-fashioned. However, prices have fallen. You pay almost €20 for a burger. House lemonade for €6.90. It's nice and tidy and you have to want to afford it.

I'm someone who is very frugal, but if the waiters start insulting each other in front of guests, well. The food is too expensive for the course. Dinner plate €17.90. There were supposed to be roast slices on it but there were 2 old edges from the pork neck. The sausage salad without taste, simply sausage strips with cucumber cubes. There was no response at all to the complaint other than “I’ll fix it.” My wife had the vegetable casserole. A little cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes and two slices of carrots. Lukull hollandaise over it and smothered with cheese. There was also something good, a delicious Franciscan and a really nice atmosphere. In the corner where we were sitting there were two families who felt the same way. Unfortunately. So there is room for improvement.

The salt was WAY TOO SMALL! Charging almost €20 for this is really not fair.

Only drank one beer. Very nice here. Very neat and clean. However, also very slow service. Staff very nice.

Brunch in a bit of Boar style. On Sundays, the Franziskaner also offers Prosecco, delicious Kaiserschmarren and Jell-O pudding in addition to the “normal amount”. The white sausage, the Nuremberger, the bacon and the meatballs are really great. Overall, the offering is rich and good (bread, rolls, pretzel sticks, sausage, cheese, eggs, scrambled eggs, peppers, Obazda...). Drinks such as water, juices and coffee are also all inclusive. Recommended location!

Went there as a large group for the breakfast buffet as part of our company outing. Pre-booked table(s) and other groups apparently came up with the same idea on the same day. 😃 It all happened on the ground floor. The toilets are upstairs and were very tidy. The staff was quick and very friendly; kept clearing away used dishes and refilling the buffet. There was plenty of food/drink to suit many different tastes. The meandering to and around the buffet was a bit narrow, but okay. Almost as cozy as the big Irish pub "An' Crannog" used to be...😥 We were satisfied and would come back.

I had roast pork, which was unfortunately very hard and dry. The service was okay. Edit to yours: "...you're welcome to contact customer service..." --> I did, but there was no further response other than a shrug of the shoulders.

Unfortunately, we discovered real "fraud" in the invoice of more than 100 euros.... Apologies came afterwards. The unpleasant experience remains firmly in place. We recommend checking the number of dishes and drinks on the bill. Food tastes ok, portion is small for normal adults. ...... Addendum in response to owner reaction. I will probably visit you again despite the incident. But it still tingles after every memory that a 20 euro tip was left behind and wasn't immediately returned 😱 My review is the truth and should only lead to caution and reflection.

Was there for breakfast with my best friend. It was actually my first time there. What can I say?? It was great... it was miles better than, for example, in Café Extrablatt 😉 The selection alone... I will come back. 4 🌟 in the ambience because it was very loud that morning because there was probably a large company there. But it probably won't be like this every day. That would be more like complaining at a high level 🤭

Delicious, fresh and, above all, rich breakfast buffet. My personal highlight are the included hot and cold drinks, which you usually have to pay extra for everywhere else. The restaurant is clean and comfortably furnished, the staff is friendly and helpful. The normal toilets are on the first floor and can only be reached via stairs, but there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Had a great evening. The side dish was a bit small for us for the price. All very tasty. Inside you definitely have the “Franciscan” atmosphere.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Sporty prices but not good quality. Schnitzel was dripping with fat, the malt beer sauce was indefinable and the napkin dumplings were very dry.

Frühstücks Buffet war sehr gut. Alles frisch und in ausreichender Menge vorhanden. Immer wieder wurde das Buffet erneuert. Zu erwähnen ist das sehr freundliche Auftreten der Mitarbeiterin. Freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

No matter whether for the breakfast buffet (like today) or dinner, we always enjoy coming to the Franziskaner! No matter how full the restaurant is, the service team is always friendly, courteous and professional in the most positive sense!

Breakfast is always a highlight here. Small selection but still something for everyone. Coffee and tea included in the price. The waitresses are always very nice!

Was there on August 31st with 3 friends. No more draft beer in the brewery. Waited 45 minutes for the first drink. Food absolutely average and waited over 90 minutes.

The professional staff is totally warm and accommodating. There's absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of quality and value for money. (Bread with 3 dips/cheese pasta/onion roast) and it's really tasty too. Absolutely recommended!!
