Our absolute favorite restaurant! We got married here and come back regularly. Every dish tastes good here. The drink selection is mega. The service is uncomplicated and takes care of every concern. The hotel is clean and attentive. The banquet coordinator tries to make everything possible and is available at any time. We are more than satisfied. A heartfelt recommendation for everyone, regardless of whether it is a location, restaurant or overnight stay.

We were guests here last night and what can we say... Mega nice restaurant, stylish, modern and cozy... The pandemic requirements were implemented perfectly... the staff was super polite... especially the young lady (the who served us) very courteous, extremely charming, always a 🙂 in the eyes (easy to see despite the mask 😷) and a quick saying on his lips. Our dish, the Big Kahuna Burger 🍔, was the best burger 🏆👌 that we have eaten in Germany. Respect to the young team😉and keep it up. Even though we live over 200 km away, we will definitely come back. The icing on the cake, since we were there with the motorhome (to make an appointment today for the solar installation) we were allowed to spend the night directly in the parking lot, as this is not a given.....again a big THANK YOU...to the team. And a special thank you to WoMo B1 (Mr. S.) who recommended this location to us and clarified the overnight stay in advance by phone. We celebrated our wedding at Frankys a few weeks ago and we couldn't be happier with our choice! From the very beginning we felt we were in good hands - a huge thank you goes especially to Ms. Schettler, our banquet coordinator. She was simply great, organized everything so smoothly and implemented our wishes perfectly. From the wedding ceremony to the celebration, everything was perfect! The food was really a highlight – our guests were just as excited as we were. Everything was perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. The service was also great, always friendly and attentive. Also a big thank you to the whole team! We were very, very satisfied all around and can only warmly recommend Franky's to everyone! Thank you again for this unforgettable day!

Franky's water station in the Mintard district, in the middle of the beautiful Ruhr Valley. The reviews only refer to the food, not the hotel operation! Finally a location where it's worth returning to. The map is laid out in a variety of ways. Whether regional dishes, spare ribs, burgers or just fries and a cold drink on the bike tour. Lots of space outside and an appealing ambience inside. You should make a reservation on the weekend. If you take a seat in the operating area, the service still has room for improvement. Still highly recommended. My tip: stop off on the bike tour or hike through the Ruhr Valley.

What a great location. We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary and birthday there. Top organization! Everything went perfectly, preparation, decoration, hotel and service were super professional and friendly, the food was very tasty and high quality. We celebrated until 4 a.m., the service staff was super friendly the whole time and by 9 a.m. the first people were already back at breakfast. Really great and also very good in terms of price-performance ratio. We have also received very good feedback from our guests and can recommend Franky’s at any time without hesitation!

Great location, top professional management and service team. We had booked a restaurant and hotel room for our silver wedding anniversary in Franky’s Wasserbahnhof Mintard in Mülheim an der Ruhr. All age groups from 2 to 80 were represented and the team mastered our celebration, the menu and the organization perfectly from the first conversation. The feeling of the right party at the right time. On top of that, simply friendly service staff, clean hotel rooms, a very tasty breakfast and a great garden with a playground for the little ones. Thanks again to the whole team and would be happy to come back. Absolutely recommended!

I went to the water station twice with my wife as part of our wedding planning. Ambiance, service and food were good. I would also like to talk about our wedding in the Knights' Hall at Broich Castle on September 13th. Frankys supported us in the area of ​​catering. Doreen and her team supported us a lot on the day, the food was delicious and they took our concept into account in terms of design. However, we found the 9-month planning to be chaotic. Points of criticism can be assigned to the areas of communication, organization and transparency. I would like to point out that I can prove all points since over 20 emails were exchanged. No matter what concern was raised, we often received an answer after about 2 weeks. The contract was only drawn up after more than half a year. It took several months to clarify which drinks could be offered. Frankys pointed out that we were contractually obliged to purchase draft beer from Broich Castle, at just over €100 per barrel. We refuted this and referred to our contract with the castle. After wine was removed from the drinks menu, we were offered various types of beer. If 1 problem was solved, 2 new problems appeared. Now beer glasses were missing. Then, after six months, it was discovered that the drinks in the premises could not be sufficiently cooled and this led to over €200 in additional costs. Our inquiry about the lock resulted in a solution that cost just over €100. The picture and dimensions of the additional cooling from the castle were passed on to Frankys and no complaints were made. When we asked, the answer was that the problem was fixed from the start. One cocktail per guest should be served as part of the event package and for the sake of simplicity, we adopted the suggestion from the in-house wedding folder. Then we are told that the material costs are too high. We were also not always able to understand individual adjustments to the draft contracts. Prices for crumb money, tea lights and tablecloths increased without notice. Was it a deliberate price increase or a mistake? During the wedding week I brought decorations and 3 cases of honey beer, which we bought at Franky's suggestion at our own expense, to the water station. The day before I spontaneously went to Broich Castle to set up. Suddenly the catering tells me that the tables for the buffet are being set up in the anteroom at the beginning and that there is no space for enough bar tables for the reception. The previously communicated 4 flower vases per table became 3. In addition, it has now been discovered that the beverage cooling is not sufficient. A solution was found, but with a degree of disability of 30% and current treatment for a torn tendon and bursitis in my shoulder, I had to carry 6 boxes one floor down by myself. One type of beer was missing on the wedding day and a different type was used without notice. This led to unnecessary discomfort on the day before and the wedding day itself. The bill of over €8,000 (excluding location) for 45 guests came a few days later. €850 was overcharged. We paid a three-digit sum per guest, 7 guests were charged too much. The special price for children is not charged. They wanted to incorrectly charge us for our own honey beer. However, when we pointed this out, this fact was corrected...

Food and ambience top! Service staff have always been attentive and friendly, but on the last visit they were moderately attentive and moderately helpful.

Sensational location, beautiful location, a huge outdoor area, meadow on the Ruhr with plenty of space for children, lots of deck chairs and just to feel good. The beer garden is beautifully decorated, very varied and the interior, restaurant area and terrace with winter garden are really appealing. You probably don't find something like this very often in such a location on the water. Very family friendly and casual. We also stayed overnight and had a nice modern room under the attic with everything you need. Always a very friendly and dedicated staff and a great meal to celebrate. Great for parties, the DJ played everything until 3:00 a.m. and no one was bothered. We would love to come back here.

-Not a good price/performance ratio and the meat didn't come medium rare as ordered but rather through. -Friendly service -Unfortunately it was too loud due to a social party, which meant that a relaxed meal in the restaurant was only possible to a limited extent.

We celebrated our wedding at Frankys on September 14, 2024. Our wedding was previously planned together with dear Maggie & Katharina. The two were always there to help and advise. - Thank you. The location is an absolute dream, the food is incredibly delicious and the service is great. Many of our guests were impressed by the location, the delicious grill buffet at our wedding and the service. The boys and girls were super attentive, understanding & more than friendly. Very nicely located restaurant with a large terrace and outdoor area. The price is a little higher, but the dishes are freshly prepared (not frozen goods). The mashed potatoes were freshly made. The portions were absolutely sufficient. The ambience was absolutely top. The toilets were clean and modern equipped. We would love to come back

Very nice excursion spot for families and couples offers a little bit of everything and the children can let off steam when their parents can enjoy the view. Friendly staff always with a smile on their faces, and delicious food for every taste. It also offers many opportunities for nature lovers and adventure explorers.

A nice company summer party was spent there. It's really up to the world 🫣, but you'll be compensated with a great location. I can't say anything about the rooms. The service was really great. The boys and girls put in a lot of effort 👍.

Great location that is particularly suitable for families with children. There is a playground with a pirate ship, slide and swings. A huge meadow right on the Ruhr where the kids can let off steam. There is also a separate changing room and a small indoor play area. Really great. We sat down in the self-service area. The food from the stylish overseas containers is good. Neither more nor less. The drink selection is great. Unfortunately you cannot order food a la carte in the self-service area. Suggestion for improvement: Offer a la carte food at a pick & order corner.

We celebrated our wedding reception at Franky's on August 17th, 2024. What can I say??? We couldn't have imagined it being more beautiful. It was just great. The staff, the food, the decoration, everything worked smoothly. You can just tell they know what they're doing. I would do it that way again and again. Kudos also to Ms. Stinshoff. She looked after us very well during the preparations and we were allowed to come over at any time. All in all 5 stars +

Had dinner there today with 8 people. We had to wait a whole hour for the food, we're talking burgers and salad. I got a burger that I didn't order and it was still well done even though I ordered medium. After I had eaten about half of it, I noticed the mix-up. The waitress blamed it on the Indonesian service staff, although a blonde German waitress brought me the burger. Very bad service and not even a credible apology. I will no longer visit the store, let alone recommend it.

It was my first time there and I was pleasantly surprised. All in one a beautiful location in the countryside. The food was good and the service (young man) was very friendly and attentive, even though we were a group of 11 people. Would go there again at any time.

Great burgers and very nice staff

We were there today with two families. My children are not allowed to eat everything due to illness. We have rarely experienced so much understanding and commitment in the restaurant. After we ordered our food, the boss (I assume) came to the table personally to discuss everything with us, he even had a surprise in store. Really great, my boys were really happy.

Very nice location by the water and ideal for a break on a bike or bike tour. Gastronomically it's not that great with a carelessly prepared, muddy and tasteless burger. The schnitzel was sometimes only lukewarm and the taste was also not convincing and that at a price of over 20 euros per dish. To be fair, we were not charged for a schnitzel after the complaint. In the future we will stop for a currywurst in the self-service area but no longer in the restaurant.

TOP location We spent a wonderful weekend here, great location with lawn and beer garden, right on the Ruhr Valley cycle path. Marcel at the reception as well as Merle and Yannick know what the guests want (even when it's busy), also a big compliment to the kitchen, very good food, all at a good price-performance ratio.

The price/performance ratio for the food doesn't fit. The spaghetti carbonara was completely drowned. The service was great and attentive.

We stayed there for 1 night on our bike tour. The rooms were a bit "carelessly" furnished. The bed was too short because the footboard wasn't open. The shower entrance was very narrow, even for me; people with a slightly larger waist circumference would never have been able to get through the sliding doors. NO glass in the bathroom or room for brushing your teeth, everything was very noisy due to the wooden floor, you could hear every guest in the hallway. Everything was a bit old. Positive: The room was at least clean for the price, the garden area was very nice.

This restaurant is beautifully located directly on the Ruhr with the pier of the white fleet in Mülheim and is also very easy to reach by bus. The terrace has a beautiful view of the Ruhr and in front of it there is a meadow with deckchairs that invites you to linger. Part of the terrace is like a winter garden. There is a very attractive ambience inside. There were 6 of us when we came here and everyone was very happy with the food. In terms of taste and value for money, we were served very attentively by the staff. All in all, a great day at Franky's. We will certainly come back. Recommended.

Had a drink outside. Very beautiful and large meadow down to the Ruhr with lots of deck chairs. Good selection of drinks with draft beer. Swivel grill for self-collection. Spacious grounds, so that even a company event at the same time didn't bother us. Jetty for White Fleet currently out of service.

We knew that you were the best and that we could rely on you. But what you performed was absolute madness!!! The food, drinks, service and ambience were unique and every guest felt extremely comfortable and well looked after. You were very attentive and not too intrusive. A special thank you to Yannick and Maggie - you rocked and planned and implemented the celebration better than we could have imagined in advance. Took a break there yesterday, beautifully located on the Ruhr. Large area with loungers, restaurant, with or without service depending on the situation, dogs allowed.

Were here for a wedding reception

I was invited to a wedding that was celebrated there (closed society). The food, drinks and service were really good. There were enough staff who were always friendly and helpful. The design of the room, the decoration and the winter garden were also great. Finally, the advice in advance was also great, other service providers were referred and special requests were addressed. I would always recommend the location for large, special celebrations.

Three weeks ago I celebrated my wedding at Broich Castle, which Franky's Restaurant recommended to me. I have no words to describe how perfect everything was, I wouldn't change a single detail. Without a doubt the best investment. Since our first experience with Katharina (who was a great professional) she offered us very flexible, interesting and comfortable options for our wedding. With a little information we gave her, she took care of even the smallest detail of the decoration. Since it was a bilingual wedding (Spanish - German), she had the detail to create the menu in two languages. The food at the buffet was spectacular: Points of 5 = Taste: 5, Presentation: 5, Service: 5. Here are some pictures. Finally, I would like to congratulate Tatjana (management coordinator at the wedding) and her team... I can't remember all the names, but Doreen and Leon were there until the end. Have already been a guest at two weddings here. Both times it was great! The LOCATION is great with a location by the water - especially in summer. There is the option to rent the entire area or just parts of the restaurant. Free weddings on the terrace are possible. The FOOD was without exception very good. The very important midnight snack was of course included. The drinks were good. Sometimes we had to wait a bit at the bar late at night. But it wasn't a problem, because the SERVICE overall was super nice and attentive. Overall, two great weddings where I had the feeling that the operators took good care of their guests and had everything under control. I would love to come back to normal restaurant operations :)

Nice staff, good food, nice location on the Ruhr with a large meadow. Dog friendly. There is a snack distribution (self-service) for hikers/cyclists. There is a large play ship and swings for children.

Franky's water station has been the destination of a bike tour several times and it is a great location in the summer with lots of options and great areas for children, but unfortunately the food in the restaurant was not good and therefore too expensive. We were 4 adults and 2 children and there was actually something wrong with every dish. Fries and schnitzel were too salty, mashed potatoes tasted sour and the steaks were well done and not medium as ordered. The bill was €249 and it really wasn't worth it. I can recommend the outdoor area with the sales containers, where you can pick up cakes, drinks, ice cream, currywurst, etc., but unfortunately not the restaurant.

We stopped in for food and drinks after a hike. It was very busy on May 1st and we had to wait a long time. Food was good, unfortunately a little expensive.

A week ago we celebrated a wonderful wedding there with over 80 other guests. Everything was really right. The food was excellent, the layout of the buffet was very good. The entire service staff should also be highlighted. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. It's a shame that we live a little further away, otherwise this would definitely be our favorite restaurant.

The place is great. Great if there are children. Nice playground right next to the beautiful beer garden. Comfortably furnished inside. Barrier-free. Unfortunately we didn't have the right waiter that day. A pity!!!:(

We celebrated our wedding here on April 20th and where should I start: -Mrs. Schettler, our banquet coordinator, was always there to help us with advice and assistance and put together a fantastic decoration at the end -The food was a 10/10 and was praised by our guests throughout the evening -We always knew in the evening who the waiter in charge was and with whom we were making arrangements when the cake should arrive, etc. The times were also spontaneously flexible, all the waiters were so friendly and had fabulous drinks for a total of 83 guests until late into the night conjured - the hotel and the staff there were wonderful, the room was well suited for a getting ready shoot. Overall, many of our guests stayed there and Mr. Sonnen & Mr. Makonese always looked after us well, flexible check in & check out and the breakfast was very good Overall, it was a wonderful day that was only possible thanks to the wonderful Franky's team! We thank you very much!

Small hotel with a very good restaurant. The location on the Ruhr makes it perfect for walks or hikes. Hotel approved for dogs and: you also look after your four-legged friend. The windows are very well insulated, you can't hear the Ruhrtalbrücke/A52 at all.

The restaurant is rated, not the hotel! Great location directly on the Ruhr with large outdoor areas and plenty of free parking spaces. In summer there is outdoor dining in snack or food truck style as well as the restaurant's outdoor seating. I come here several times a year, sometimes with family, sometimes with friends. Today we tried the venison bratwurst and the venison burger. Absolutely amazing and super tasty! As always, the service was quick and friendly and the prices are appropriate for the service. A great restaurant, a great place! Top rating!!
