It was incredibly delicious, and the staff was very friendly. It's just a bit hard to find, unfortunately. Still, it was definitely worth it. We'll definitely be back!

We were there in October, off-season, and were more than pleasantly surprised. A real insider tip! It's impossible to miss on foot as a hiker, but a bit hidden by car. But the search was worth it. The food is all homemade and prepared by the owner. The host is absolutely fantastic. We had a wonderful conversation and a lot of laughs. We even brought two dogs with us, which was absolutely no problem. Both were very welcome. And because we enjoyed it so much, we even made the most of the opening hours. At no point did anyone make us feel like we should leave... We will definitely be back next time we're in the area! Thanks for the lovely evening! 🤗

It's a bit hard to find, but it's worth the effort. The food is very good and plentiful, the owner is super friendly and personable, and it's not modern or overly elegant, but rather cozy and timeless. Great food. As you can see in several pictures. We even heard the schnitzel being pounded. So it was clear the meal would be great. If we ever make it back to Arendsee, we'd be happy to come back.

Here, the chef still makes the meat himself. The schnitzel and knuckle of pork were excellent. The hosts are very friendly.

Went here today for the first time with our granddaughter (5). The owners gave us a very warm welcome. Lunch was delicious. My wife and I each had a burger (delicious 👍👍👍👍). The person who sold us our ice cream was very impatient. Our children couldn't choose their ice cream in peace. Overall, the location is very nice. I don't think it's appropriate that you can't pay by card.

We went there for dinner, a little early, as they closed at 5:00 p.m. It was delicious. There were four of us and we had three different schnitzels, all of them delicious.

You absolutely have to eat here when you're at the lake. It's simply amazing. And you're sitting right by the lake. We just docked our stand-up paddleboard right here and... OH MY GOD, THE WILD CURRY SAUSAGE! Homemade and simply perfect. And your kids can also enjoy a delicious meal and play right here at the picnic area. We were absolutely thrilled. ❤️

Frank's Hiking Rest Stop, with its unobstructed view of Lake Arendsee, is highly recommended. The food is delicious.

The food is highly recommended. Unfortunately, you can't try all the dishes, but the sauerfleisch (pork meat) with the delicious fried potatoes is absolutely fantastic! The only thing I was missing was a local draft beer. 🍺 The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We definitely recommend it. 👍

Lots of empty seats inside, and as a customer, you're sent away and thrown out, told you won't be served at the best time of day, lunchtime. Allegedly, there's a lack of staff. Quote from the waitress: "We don't want to wear ourselves out, and that with a mere four small tables." First learn how to treat customers. I've never encountered such audacity. Not recommended; don't go there. My wife witnessed what they said that the woman allegedly didn't say. And with the stroller, there was no room at the table with a baby, while half their restaurant was empty. We're now happy to spread their behavior and words throughout Ahrendsee because my wife and I don't want to let ourselves be slandered. They're lying.

A beautiful location directly on the lake, a cozy atmosphere, and exceptionally friendly service. The dishes are freshly prepared, individually composed, and tastefully coordinated. Only the pricing seems a bit inconsistent in places: Some dishes are very reasonably priced, while others seem a bit overpriced. Overall, however, it's definitely worth a visit—especially after a stroll around Lake Arendsee.

A lovely little stop in a quiet location surrounded by trees and with a great view of Lake Arend. The owners do their best to accommodate the rush (the only place for miles around). On nice summer days, expect to wait a bit. We opted for Frank's Currywurst and were not disappointed. The finest, everyone was fed. 👍🏼 We were allowed to bring our dog into the restaurant despite the heat; the owners were generally very animal-friendly. From ice cream to currywurst, vegetarian alternatives, or simply a delicious Aperol, there was a truly wide selection, something we never would have expected. There really should be something for everyone there. We highly recommend this restaurant and wish the owners all the best and many more stress-free vacationers and customers. 🤗

Great food with a view of the lake. Two super nice waitresses with jokes on their faces. You can hear the schnitzels being made in the kitchen, we'll be back. There was a glass of champagne for Mother's Day.

The food is delicious, everything is homemade and made with love. We were here with our large dog, which wasn't a problem. The chef is really nice and friendly and likes to take a moment if possible. Everyone else is really nice and friendly too. People like to come here. The view of the lake is beautiful. We'd love to come back

Is the freshly prepared food tasting too good, the location too idyllic and the service, as you put it, too nice??? It can only be like that!!! For this fantastic, freshly prepared food and the location and surroundings and the lovely people who make it all possible, any negative review is simply absolutely ridiculous. For me this is pure envy towards Frank and his crew. Shame on you!!! You know what = envy has to be earned BUT pity is free!!! Think about it!!! So we had dinner there today, it was super delicious and way too much. Everything is homemade and you can taste it too. and I don't really like eating salad myself, but this salad that was on the plate was pretty good (well, except for the corn 😅). And everything else was great too. and what you can't do gets packed up. So we are extremely satisfied

We've been there a few times, the food was never good and the service was never really friendly, you're just lucky to be one of the few restaurants on Arendsee, otherwise you could do without it! I wish you, the unfriendly gas provider, a nice day. Four of us plus our dog ate here last Monday. The service was very friendly. The food was really tasty and plentiful. There was a water bowl available for the dog. Anyone who complains here probably has themselves to blame.

The food is to die for. The chef makes everything fresh and himself. Portion is also very good. But the service doesn't work at all. Waiting 45 minutes to be served and asking for service three times isn't really good.

Four of us had dinner there a few days ago. Food is very delicious. We had schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes and wild currywurst with the best fries I've ever eaten. Dogs are allowed into the restaurant. We had a very nice conversation with the innkeepers.

You can't buy a takeaway portion of fries for the lake.

Super nice, nice people, the food was again excellent, what could be nicer than sitting outside and enjoying the food. I was asked several times if everything was good and you could tell that it was freshly cooked. I don't know what went wrong with the last guest - but hey, as it looks in the forest, it echoes back.

Came as “strangers” and left as friends. After we were warmly welcomed by Frank and his wife in front of the door on the beautiful terrace, there was a predator feeding in absolute perfection with a lot of passion 😍😍😍 We immediately felt at home and absolutely recommend this wonderful location 👍🏻✌🏻😎 We ate delicious jumbo asparagus with equally delicious pork schnitzel and boiled potatoes. It was a poem in terms of taste and the very large portion and also how it was prepared. We have never eaten such thick and long asparagus spears before. The hollondaise sauce that came with it was also fantastic. There was also brown butter with breadcrumbs to choose from for the asparagus. The schnitzel was just as tasty and big as the rest and we were finally able to eat a "homemade" schnitzel, which is usually not available anywhere else. The entire dish was all fresh and prepared in-house. Where else can you get that today and at an absolutely fair price? Other delicious dishes were served at the neighboring table, all of which we will definitely try on our next visit. Thank you very much again for the wonderful time with you.

Best strawberry punch in the world.

We were on a spa at the Arendsee. Franks Wanderrest is the place to go, food top, restaurateurs top, location top. Always well attended. Children are welcome and the owners always come to the table for a chat. The chef and owner himself asks the guests whether everything is OK with the meal. Here you could enjoy and listen to the lake, nature and people at the same time. A wonderful place. Tip: Sometimes it's better to reserve a table, as this restaurateur is always busy. Incredibly listless and unfriendly. They don't want to make money. Politely asked for a table for 8. Cute answer because we would have to split up because there was no space. When I asked if the dog was allowed in, they said no, not in this weather!! By the way, it's just drizzling a little. Too bad. One would expect "a warm welcome. Of course we will put together 2 tables for you and yes the dog is no problem at all"

We were there for a spa treatment and found this really great place. It was just our comfortable place. The food was delicious and fresh, so much so that my son even wanted the delicious sauce for his fries the next day. The Lillett and the strawberry punch are a hit. :D The owners are just great, available for a snack and super nice. We're even thinking about holding an annual meeting there, you can just switch off, have fun and enjoy the beautiful view without having to feel bad. Children are very welcome and even have their own space reserved in the beach chair. Always happy and a little sad that unfortunately we can't even get around spontaneously anymore.

Great recommendation! We would love to come back and stay for 2 hours. Take a trip for this delicious currywurst. The sauce is homemade and the sausage comes from the local butcher. The schnitzel and the potato salad (according to an old family recipe) were also a dream. Frank, Ute and their son are hosts with heart and soul. The food and service was top! Even the chef personally inquired about the well-being. The snack bar is busy, so booking in advance is recommended. Personally, I would have been happy about a larger selection of vegetarian dishes - maybe there will be those next time. We'll definitely be back!

Were on August 11th. In the hiking break and one thing in advance it was just great! When we arrived everything was occupied, but after a nice conversation with the waiter, we waited about 10 minutes until a table became available. The wait was 100 percent worth it. The service was very nice and the drinks came to the table quickly, even though it was completely full. We had the Currywurst 5* Wanderrast Burger 5* and the fries were simply damn delicious! Clear recommendation! Fresh food top service we will see again and again.
