Review of a Culinary Misunderstanding in Offenbach Spurred by surprisingly positive Google reviews – presumably written under the influence of sentimental feelings of home or a severe loss of taste – I ventured into an establishment nestled somewhere between snack-bar romance and urban decay. Offenbach, in all its charmingly neglected splendor, provided the perfect backdrop: filthy streets, kiosks with more halal advertising than customers, and a vibe that oscillates between a construction site and a bazaar. The restaurant's outdoor area, which appears to be subtly warding off customers, impressively demonstrates how to create maximum desolation with a minimum of effort. A bit of greenery? None. Inviting decor? Only if you count worn wooden chairs and stained seat cushions as "aesthetic understatement." The Garden of Eden looks different – ​​the atmosphere here is more like a cemetery. The service? Well, okay. Our waiter, a cross between a resigned community service worker and avid chain smoker, radiated the motivation of a Monday morning in November. Between his well-timed nicotine sessions – customer service seems secondary here – he at least managed to take my order. His appearance seemed like an homage to the golden age of the T-shirt and sweatpants – comfort over class, seems to be the motto. As for the drink: The Äppler – color-wise somewhere between a urine sample and used oil – tasted like a relic from the previous year. Fermented, but not in the charming sense. Surprisingly, the main course, a schnitzel the size of a growing pigeon's egg and two rather sad potato halves, was the green sauce that triumphed. Not because it was good – but because the rest simply posed no competition. 80% of the plate was covered in it, perhaps out of pity. The background music came from a neighboring family, whose children were busy building stone castles. On the ground. In the aforementioned "Garden of Eden." A scene that was halfway between a playground and noise terror – but maybe I'm just too sensitive for the authentic Offenbach atmosphere. Before escaping, I wanted to use the restroom – a mistake. The interior has the charm of an aging alpine hut after a threat of demolition. And the toilet? An apocalyptic vision of a forgotten train station toilet – only without staff. Here, not only the tiles were crying out for cleaning, but my inner sense of hygiene was also crying out for an exorcism. Conclusion: Anyone who rates this place positively either has the sense of humor of a Dadaist or has suffered a massive erosion of taste. I, for one, leave this establishment with the firm intention of never setting foot there again – and with the urgent desire to disinfect my hands at home. And my soul.

Visited yesterday The waitress stopped four times in the hour we were there to smoke at the next table. You don't do that, and it doesn't leave a good impression. I had a schnitzel, emphasis added, a schnitzel for €18.80 with a potato and green sauce. It wouldn't even qualify as a child's portion elsewhere. I drank an Äppler (apple) that tasted stale. All in all, a loser, never again.

We were here spontaneously today. It's been a long time since I've visited this place again and I'm absolutely thrilled! The food is very good, the service is attentive and friendly. Everything was just right. The toilets are clean and tidy. In general the restaurant is okay. No dirt, no dirty tables. I will come here more often. And a quick huge thank you to the kitchen! My space schnitzel was fantastic!!! But I would still have liked a salad. But 5.20 euros is too much for me. Sorry. But today is not every day! I'll be back, no question!

The waitress' behavior was simply unacceptable. Although there were numerous tables available (the store was half empty during our two-hour stay), we were seated at a table right in front of the toilet door. An absolute no-go!

I ordered two schnitzels and a burrito for pickup at a drive-through in Offenbach. The cream sauce was inedible, the onions and potatoes tasted very bland, and the burrito, along with the completely burnt base, was absolutely inedible. For the price and the poor taste, I absolutely do not recommend it! Never again from this restaurant.

The place is very comfortable and the food is delicious. A quiet place to come to dinner with your partner and friends and have a good time with a delicious draft beer. As for the price, it seemed cheap for two people, it was $30 euros for food and drinks. Totally recommended.

The food was very good, the waiting time was reasonable. Our waitress tried hard to understand my basic English and not understanding the beer menu. He helped me and recommended a good option to accompany my meal. They accept payments with credit cards except American Express.

A classic in Offenbach. Formerly the lucky bag and today the forester's. Just outside the Offenbach hype with a great atmosphere and consistently delicious food. The tandoori salad is particularly recommended.

A very great restaurant with cheap prices but very large portions. And it tastes really good too. That was a successful evening. The service was ok, the food came relatively quickly. Although there was a lot going on. We'll be back, thank you very much.

You can also get a table there spontaneously, the schnitzels with green sauce were very good. Unfortunately the homemade meatloaf with pepper sauce was far too salty (the chef may have fallen in love), otherwise it tasted good. Very nice service.

Had a steak with herb butter fries and salad. Steak didn't blow me away, it was ok with fries too dry for me. Ketchup and mayo at the table would be great. Side salad was very tasty with homemade dressing. The mojito was extremely sour. Wouldn't order it again, just like the non-alcoholic cocktail, very sour. The cellars were very nice, quick and warm. What struck me negatively was all the cobwebs, they have to go!

I was there today comfortably in the beer garden. I drank a delicious Würzburger Hofbräu and ate a great dish from the daily menu. The fried vegetable dumplings on salad and dressing were very good. We were pleasantly surprised by the good food, as the place has more of a bar feel. The prices for the food were sometimes very expensive (gyros with fries €17.50). During the course of the evening there were no more ice cubes... this can be improved. Nevertheless, it was a good evening with delicious food

We arrived Tuesday evening... it was pretty empty, good for us! Drinks came promptly... food was great! The only annoying thing was that some guests couldn't close the toilet door! You went in and didn't close it, went out and left it open! But the restaurant can't do anything about it. As we were told... what are you staying in Offenbach for the night... oh dear! Well, now we know why... 🤪... one of the two ServiceMAs also noticed this and then closed the door! Thought it was a bit expensive... at 2.58 euros but we were full!

Visited again for many years. Everything continues to be great. You just feel right at home. The only drawback: you really lovely attentive girls (perfect service) really have to work on making cocktails. A short course would be appropriate ;-)

Location and ambience is fine. Viennese veal schnitzel and vegetable curry were delicious. The cream schnitzels were also delicious, but both had a certain spiciness in the sauce with the champions. Maybe add a little less spice because some people can't tolerate spiciness. Value for money is great. Large portions that fill you up.

Gerade an einem ungemütlichen Herbst- oder Winterabend ist es sehr gemütlich beim Förster. Von den Gerichten - Burrito und Schnitzel Wiener Art mit Pilzrahmsoße - waren wir sehr angetan. Für Veganende - Gender-Gaga muss ja heute sein - gibt es auch Angebote. Hier gibt es übrigens nicht nur gutes Weizenbier vom Faß, sondern auch Bananenweizen und Kirschweizen - mir schmeckten alle drei.

Cenamos una noche de este verano en su agradable terraza. Restaurante alemán con platos variados y buenos. No en zona turística, tranquilo y bonito.

Zeer fijne informele sfeer. Je kunt hier binnen en buiten eten. Terras zag er gezellig uit. Binnen een gezellige bar en tafels. Wij hebben met onze kinderen hier een heerlijke schnitzel gegeten. Bediening vriendelijk, kortom een echte aanrader.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe da und es war OK.... Der Größte Teil hatte Steak und war zufrieden vom Geschmack und auch der Größe der Portionen... Die Grüne Soße war vom Geschmack absolut Ok nur leider war das Verhältnis Grüne Soße zu Kartoffeln soo schlecht das es am ende gefühlt eher ne kalte dicke Suppe war .... Sobald etwas mehr los ist kommt der Service doch arg ins strudeln und für eine einfache Cola wartet man über 30 min ... Nichts besonderes aber auch kein reinfall

Wer einen kleinen Biergarten im Sommer sucht und das mitten in Offenbach ist hier genau richtig. Sobald man das Gelände betritt, vergisst man die unsaubere Stadt drumherum. Der besitzer ist sehr nett und immer auf einen Plausch an der Bar zu haben. die wechselnden Gerichte sind super und passend zum ambiente. Ein kleines Stückchen deutsche Gemütlichkeit innerhlab von Offenbach ;)

Sehr nettes Lokal. Nette Lage. Das Essen war klasse. Die Preise sind angemessen. Der Service war abends dann gut beschäftigt. Aber es war auch dementsprechend viel los. Wir haben am Kino im Parkhaus geparkt. Geht man mach dem essen fix in den Lidl, bekommt man auch die parkkarte entwertet. Alles in allem ein schöner Abend.

Wir waren als Gruppe dort, es sollte unser Sommerfest mit der Firma sein. Für eine Gruppe von 30 Personen mussten wir nur eine Stunde auf das Essen warten. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und hat immer wieder nachgefragt, ob etwas benötigt wird. Alles in allem fand ich es sehr gelungen: guter Service, gutes Essen und angemessene Preise

Dieses Mal wieder den Klassiker von der Hauptkarte: Schnitzel mit Pilzrahm, kostet inzwischen €15,20. Portion wie früher: 2 Schnitzel, dazu Pommes. Und wie immer leckeres, einfaches Gericht. Relativ neue weibliche Bedienung, noch nicht ganz sattelfest, aber nett. Nach längerer Zeit wieder mal im Försters. Wenig hat sich geändert, außer den Preisen post-COVID (+30-40% über den Daumen) und der Tatsache, dass das Restaurant kaum noch neue Gerichte ausprobiert. Die Tageskarten lesen sich mehr und mehr wie "Deja Vus". Hackbraten mit Kartoffeln in Rotwein-Peffersauce gestern war aber wieder lecker! Und man sitzt bei der Wärme angenehm im Schatten! Ursprüngliche Rezension: Lange Jahre war ich dort Stammgast, 2-3 mal die Woche da. Nach langer Pause dann mal wieder vor Ort in Begleitung eines alten Freundes. Es hat sich nichts geändert: Netter kleiner "Biergarten" (Vorsicht vor Wespen im Sommer, die lieben das Efeu!), innen sitzt man volkstümlich... Bedienungen zumeist sehr freundlich, es sind aber auch immer mal ein paar ahnungslose Aushilfen dabei. Nur hier bekommt man das exzellente Würzburger Hofbräu Hefeweizen, ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal in der Binding/Schöfferhofer/Henninger-"Wüste" von Frankfurt und Offenbach. Auch in der Speisekarte hat sich wenig geändert, außer, das inzwischen auf vegane Optionen (Würg!) hingewiesen wird. Gerade für Schnitzelesser ist das Försters eine beliebte Adresse, die gibt es in verschiedenen Versionen. Dazu eine wechselnde Tageskarte, wobei sich viele Gerichte in unregelmäßigen Abständen wiederholen (z.B. Tandoori-Streifen auf Salat oder Hackbraten, kann man immer empfehlen). Preise sind auch "nach" Corona zivil wie immer. Gute, einfache Hausmannkost - in Offenbach dünn gesät! Sehr empfehlenswert.

A local Bräuhaus in the center of Offenbach that offers what you would expect from German Tavern: Bratwurst, Schnitzel, Bier, etc. at a very high quality. Friendly service and wonderful atmosphere also strengthen our experience here.

Bei schönem Wetter kann man prima draußen im „Biergarten“ sitzen. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Ein wirklich sehr guter Service. Das Essen war reichlich und geschmacklich sehr gut (Zwiebelschnitzel). Für Autofahrer gibt es Bitburger 0,0% und Bitburger Radler 0,0% vom Faß. Es gibt keinen barrierefreien Eingang. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich und das Ambiente ist drinnen nicht überragend. Eine Kneipe eben.
