An absolutely fantastic restaurant! Everything at Foodlogie is just right: the food is fresh, creative, and incredibly delicious. I was particularly impressed by the loving presentation of the dishes and the perfectly balanced flavors. The service was also excellent – ​​attentive, friendly, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. You immediately feel welcome and well looked after. I will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend Foodlogie – a true highlight in the culinary world!

I had already seen the restaurant – still under the name Alissar – on my last visit to Essen and luckily remembered it yesterday. The restaurant is lovingly decorated in beautiful, warm colors. The service is very friendly and attentive. And the food – in my case, baba ganoush and mgabara – is so good that I really regret my stomach doesn't have more capacity. I would have loved to try more. The visual aspect is definitely important, as everything is presented so beautifully. The restaurant is at the top of my list for my next visit home. Highly recommended!!!

Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot recommend it! Even while eating, I had the impression that the lamb wasn't fresh. My glass wasn't properly rinsed either. Less than 24 hours later, two people in our group had severe diarrhea. We also had to wait a very long time—both to order and for the food itself. We definitely won't be going back.

I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, the atmosphere was calm, cozy, and beautifully designed, it really made the whole experience special. The dishes were not only delicious but also looked amazing. You can really feel the attention to detail in both the taste and the presentation. A cozy restaurant serving Syrian cuisine. Tapas-style starters and a variety of delicious main courses, including vegan options, all at a fair price. Delicious and well worth the visit.

The well-thought-out concept, the diverse selection of dishes, the attractively designed menu, the stylish interior, the harmonious music, and the friendly staff deserve high praise. Unfortunately, my overall impression was marred by the slightly sour note present in almost all dishes.

Unfortunately, the quality deteriorated dramatically. We waited 90 minutes for the food, the portions were tiny, the waiters were unfriendly, and the restaurant was very hot without any ventilation or air conditioning. The kids were really hungry and very restless. The evening was completely ruined, and on top of that, it was very expensive. One star is a lot for this restaurant.

Excellent food. Ideal for larger groups. Order plenty of food for everyone to share. Friendly, prompt service. It's best to make a reservation in the evening, especially if you're planning a group dinner.

Very cozy oriental atmosphere, friendly staff with super delicious food.

Food was ordered. General: It's nice that it's relatively inexpensive and that there are many vegetarian or even vegan options. Delivery: It arrived much later than stated, and a dish we paid for was missing. Food: The falafel wrap with black cumin sauce was very tasty, as was the bean and coriander appetizer (fasoulia) (despite the high raw garlic content). However, the tahini sauce wasn't particularly tasty (luckily, there was very little on one wrap), the makali wrap was very bland and undersalted, and the vegetables were too soft. The mutabal dip was unfortunately inedible because it tasted far too smoky. :( The muhammara was okay, but nothing special; it tasted more like a ready-made dip. The bread was free with the dips, but it was pre-packaged ready-made bread and tasted accordingly. Overall, a poor delivery (late & incomplete) and mediocre to bad food, at least on that day. A shame! Edit: The price of the forgotten dish was refunded the next day, very good!

We were already familiar with Foodlogie from our previous location and have now rediscovered the delivery service. The food continues to impress with its unique flavor and stands out clearly from comparable offerings – sophisticatedly prepared and tastefully on a completely different level.

We had a fantastic experience at Foodlogie in Essen-Rüttenscheid! The food was absolutely delicious - super light, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. We ate here today and you can only rate it as perfect! If you really want to eat authentic Syrian food and not the run-of-the-mill German shawarma/falafel fast food, you should come eat here. It starts with the location, so lovingly furnished, the service is courteous and very friendly - the food is a dream! Like my grandmother's, and that's saying something! We will go there until we have completely tried the menu... and then it will be repeated again 🤭 simply perfect!!!!

We went there in the early evening without making a reservation and overall we were thrilled. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was great! We shared the appetizer platter and got lots of small bowls of hummus, beans, baba ghanoush, etc. Our main courses were also super tasty! Highly recommended! Also for vegetarians!

Super tasty and cozy shop can only recommend

I've been to this restaurant a lot of times now. The service is very good and very friendly. The food is always fantastic, totally delicious and fresh, all homemade and very authentic. I have recommended it many times and have always visited it with other friends/family, who were all enthusiastic too :) Has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. It's always full, but it never feels crowded or crowded because the tables are spaced apart. If you have something to complain about, the people are super friendly and solution-oriented.

Delicious food and quick service. We were there at 6 p.m. - it only got busier around 7 p.m. The ambience seems even cozier in the dark in the evening. We had shared various starters - which I would always recommend to try your way through the different flavours. The main courses were a bit larger than I remembered, so be sure to come hungry.

Unfortunately the food is very bland. It's a shame, because oriental cuisine promises something different...really unusual & disappointing. Everything was seasoned half-heartedly. Nicely prepared but unfortunately that's about it in my opinion. Service seems clumsy & if you come with a baby or toddler, be prepared to carry the child on your lap while eating, the high chairs were all dangerously unusable. My child slipped and almost landed on the ground because the middle bar had broken away. I asked for another chair and the backrest was broken. The next chair had a broken seat...Unbelievable, these chairs belong in the trash.

We are visiting our daughter in Essen. We ate here at this restaurant on the recommendation of one of my daughter's friends. I can only recommend it to everyone, everything deserves five stars!! …… too large portions 😀 everyone here gets full!

Another plus is that you can pack leftover food and take it home with you - a great, sustainable option that I really appreciate. I always enjoy coming here because you feel well looked after and never feel overpriced. So if you are looking for good food, fair prices and great service, you should definitely plan a visit to Foodlogie!

Yesterday we had a spontaneous meal for the two of us. About 30% of the tables were occupied. We got a table at the exit. When we asked to change tables we were refused. Only later were we offered another table. The service was unfriendly even though it wasn't busy. The meal for 13 euros was not enough. In Hamburg I can get a very good falafel plate with lots of trimmings for around 9 euros, in the city center! The falafel was too dry and the sauces were rather tasteless. I'm never coming back!

I usually order here more often and have eaten there several times and have mostly been satisfied, and if not it was more the fault of the supplier than the restaurant itself. What I can't understand, however, is when on a Saturday around 5:30 p.m. the restaurant is virtually empty, but without further explanation you are rejected by 3 people because there is no reservation. It was actually almost completely empty and we even mentioned not wanting to sit for long. The waitress had no interest or the necessary linguistic knowledge to give us a detailed explanation. It's a shame that's how you lose customers.

The interior exudes an oriental charm that takes you on a short journey to the Middle East for a few hours. The service was also excellent - the team was attentive, friendly and listened to our every need. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back. If you love Syrian cuisine or want to rediscover it, you shouldn't miss this restaurant!

The food is not the best, but it is very acceptable and worth the price I find the prices to be normal and reasonable I ordered Delivery and the delivery guy from the restaurant. He was very respectable and great, but the packaging and presentation were not the nicest. You could have used Delivery plates that were tidier than that.

Great selection of vegan dishes. Very nice atmosphere. It's just a shame that there is no home-baked bread (pita, focaccia) to go with hummus, baba ganoush, muhammara etc. Instead, unfortunately only the very thin one from the package.

I had to wait 1 hour to order, the food was normal and the portion was too small, for the first time I've seen something like that in Arabic cuisine, about 50 grams of rice in a dish for 18 euros is really stupid.

We ate there yesterday with 3 people. The food is delicious, but unfortunately the portions are far too small for the price. Unfortunately the service is not attentive. Every time you have to call the waiters. We also ordered the Mezza mix plate. It tastes good, but the portions are far too small and there is far too little Arabic bread. We also had to ask for it. Mix grill plate was also tasty, but unfortunately a little too little. Unfortunately there was no coffee available because the machine was broken. The dessert was very tasty. The table was also wobbly and sticky. You have to clean and adjust it properly. Conclusion: portions too small for the price and service needs improvement, ambience is very nice. Food tastes good, table cleanliness not so good. I probably wouldn't come again.

Today I was in Essen and everything has to do with food again. This time to a wonderful Syrian restaurant. I now know Syrians to be a very hospitable people, and I witnessed this again here, at Foodlogie. Arranging the plates is always a joy for my eyes. It reflects the passion for cooking, and you can feel that with the first bite. Very tasty food. Nicely seasoned, beautifully presented, cozy atmosphere and very friendly service, a very clear recommendation 👌👍

The evening started well yesterday. We were there with a group of girls to celebrate a birthday. The waitress took some time to accept our order. Well, it's not that bad.😉 The starters were quite ok and well portioned. We were also looking forward to the main course, it looked very good and was also delicious. Until I found a screw in my rice while eating...😣Everyone at our table was flabbergasted and checked their food to be on the safe side. Luckily I saw it and didn't already have it on my fork or in my mouth...Which would certainly have been fatal. I then went to the waiter, I think it was also the owner. Asked him to come to the table and see for himself. He came along and his reaction was very sobering... a short, dry, ummm, sorry and that my meal was on the house was nothing else to expect. Some empathy and forbearance could have been shown for this mishap in the kitchen. Me and my friends have lost our appetite for it. Makes me wonder how they work in the kitchen! There was no choice for dessert either… they only had one dessert available. You couldn't order coffee/cappuccino either because their milk container apparently didn't work. The service is desirable, there is definitely still room for improvement. Especially after such a mishap in the kitchen with the screw in the food!!!!

Falafel platter ordered for pickup. The falafel was honestly perfect. Normally I don't like falafel that much but these were juicy and with the tahini sauce an absolute highlight. The rest of the plate (hummus salad and Muhammara) was more than solid. I can absolutely recommend it.

He even followed us outside and even when I stopped him he wouldn't stop talking! Does your faith allow you to tolerate such behavior？
