Florian's Stuben Museum: An experience for young and old. Now that summer vacation has begun, I spent the weekend with my family in the adventure town of Schiffweiler. Besides the well-known attractions, such as the water gardens, the Itzenplitz Pond, and the Gondwana Prehistoric Park, we stumbled upon Florian's Stuben Museum quite by chance via Google Maps. Since we decided to visit the museum somewhat spontaneously, we unfortunately couldn't make a reservation in advance. However, this isn't a problem at all. The incredibly hospitable owners (a lovely, older couple) are equally happy to welcome every guest. Even short visits late in the evening are quite possible. Just try your luck and drop by. A visit is definitely worthwhile. At the entrance, we were promptly greeted with a complimentary latte macchiato. And I must say, I've rarely had such a good one! To our surprise, we received a free guided tour from the museum director himself, who led us through 125 fascinating years of the Heiligenwald Fire Department. Time flew by. While the children had fun in a well-equipped outdoor fire department playground, we were captivated by the museum director's seemingly endless conversations and fire department anecdotes. Before we knew it, it was almost 11:30, and we said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel. I found it amazing that even at that hour, new visitors were still coming to the museum. If I could give it ten stars, I would. We will definitely visit the "Florian's Stuben" adventure museum again next year.
