Florian's Stuben in Schiffweiler

Owners always friendly, but opening hours are spontaneous and of unpredictable length. #floriansstubenopenend

Florian's Stuben Museum, an experience for all ages. Now that summer vacation has begun, I spent the weekend with my family in the adventure community of Schiffweiler. In addition to the well-known sights, such as the Water Gardens, the Itzenplitzer Weiher Pond, and the Prehistoric Gondwana, we stumbled upon the Florian's Stuben Adventure Museum by chance via Google Maps. Since we decided to visit the museum somewhat spontaneously, we unfortunately couldn't register in advance. However, that's not a problem at all here. The extremely hospitable owners (a sweet, elderly couple) are equally happy to welcome every guest. Even short visits late in the evening are quite possible. Just try your luck and stop by. It's definitely worth a visit. At the entrance, we were promptly greeted with a latte macchiato, which was actually "on the house." And I have to say, I've rarely had one as good! To our surprise, we were given a free guided tour by the museum director himself, who led us through the highly eventful 125 years of the Heiligenwald Fire Department. Time flew by, as the children enjoyed themselves in a well-equipped "fire department outdoor playground," and we immersed ourselves in the museum director's endless conversations and fire department anecdotes. Before we knew it, it was almost 11:30, and we said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel. I found it astonishing that even at this hour, new guests were still visiting the museum. If I could give it ten stars, I would. We will definitely visit the "Florian's Stuben" adventure museum again next year.
