Very cozy location, the service was attentive and friendly and there is a very large selection of beers. We didn't eat anything, so I can't comment on that.

Even at a late hour it is still hot and incredibly tasty, with great seasoning and tender pieces of meat. The perfect meal after a long day or for a cozy get-together with friends. Another highlight are the liqueurs that are served in the Finkenkrug. Very good quality, fruity and intense in taste. You can tell that people work here with heart and passion. The atmosphere in the Finkenkrug is also great – rustic and inviting, ideal for a relaxed evening. The service was friendly and attentive, so we felt completely at home. I can only recommend Finkenkrug – a great address for everyone who appreciates good food and good drinks!

Hidden gem in Duisburg. If you stay in Duisburg, do not miss it! Usually crowdy at ~6pm.

I used to be a really enthusiastic Finkenkrug visitor. But whatever happened, the finch hasn't changed for the better. You're used to long waiting times when it comes to food. But what happened recently to me (or rather to us) is the last straw. We were there with 5 people. The service was bottom drawer. Some of the waiters didn't even speak German? Then wrong food was delivered. Cold and just lukewarm food was delivered. This was then discussed instead of taking the food back or reheating it. My food was showered with curry and after 30 minutes I had a stomach bug of death. According to the doctor, it was a real curry overdose (turmeric). I had 5 days of sick leave! I then turned to Finke. There was an apology and an offer of a voucher as compensation. I still thought, oh, very nice. 3 weeks later? Still no voucher. Everything is just blah. So you as customers have lost something to us.

Lovely bustling pub on a Saturday evening with 300 different beers to choose from. The prices range from €3-6 a beer and there is a range from Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Belgium and more countries. The service is fast and they are very attentive.

Top Laden insbesondere wegen der Bierauswahl (ca. 200 Biere permanent auf Lager). Hin und wieder muss man damit rechnen, dass das ein oder andere Bier nicht verfügbar ist aber die Auswahl ist noch immer mehr als genug. Die Portionen sind beim Essen für die Preise nicht die größten, aber alles ist selbstgemacht und relativ frisch von daher verkraftbar, zudem gibt es für Fleischliebhaber wie auch Veganer und Vegetarier eine gute Auswahl. Vegetarische Biere werden als solche ausgewiesen und auf Wunsch kann man sich auch beraten lassen welche Speisen und Biere man als Vegetarier oder Veganer problemlos essen kann, das gleiche gilt für Gluten oder Laktose wer drunter leidet. Am Ende ist es aber kein Restaurant sondern eine Kneipe und genau davon lebt der Laden auch, es ist eine angenehme Kneipenatmosphäre und im Grunde ist dort immer was los. Alle 2 Wochen gibt es Montags ein Quiz und spezielle Events zum Tatort, ESC usw. einziges Manko Sport wird so gut wie nie übertragen. Auch wenn der Laden sehr groß ist und über 4 Räume plus Biergarten verfügt, kann es am Freitag oder Samstag mal vorkommen, das man ohne Reservierung mal keinen Platz mehr bekommt.

Super cool student bar. Waiters are very nice. Food is very tasty. The selection of beer and sodas is huge. The only thing that's a bit annoying is that certain sodas or food are often not available or are permanently "sold out" or there are delivery problems.

The choice of food is very large. There are even vegetarian and vegan food options and a variety of beers. The staff is very friendly and on the ball. We would love to come back when we are in Duisburg again.

Old student bar that has existed since I can remember. Known for overwhelming number of beers. Unfortunately, more and more often lately, many of the beers on the menu are not available and Altbier is no longer available on tap, which I personally find very sad 😢. Times are changing.

Yesterday the four of us spontaneously visited. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back again. Great selection of beers, drinks and food. Staff was great. The atmosphere was great. There's enough to discover!

The first and last time after 5 years! Unfortunately, the orders were lost several times or the wrong drinks were brought. Fresh draft beers, non-carbonated and slightly stale. Unfortunately the invoice was also incorrect. In summary, it's simply much worse and more expensive than before!!!

After years of not being able to make it, I was finally able to be a guest at the Finkenkrug. There are lots of beers on tap and a hearty and homely menu. I had a Belgian goulash with a matching Belgian beer, both of which tasted really excellent. The service was very friendly and so forthcoming, I would be happy to come back.

The food and beer were very good, the atmosphere is appropriate for a student bar and we really enjoyed sitting outside. Only the replenishment of beer could have worked better; When I asked to order another beer, I was greeted several times by the waiter with "I'll be right back" without him coming again. For example, a beer that was ordered wasn't brought at all and had to be ordered again after 20 minutes. Nevertheless, overall a good experience, I would happily go back and can recommend the Finkenkrug

A really nice restaurant, with friendly, courteous service, very tasty food and a large selection of drinks - favorite: coconut beer.

This is where the beer lover's heart goes out, even if some specialties have often been sold out recently. The numerous draft beers are all recommended without exception. Effort is made with the food, but you shouldn't expect a "revelation". Still tastes good 😉. Staff is friendly and serves promptly. The only eternal drawback: Why will I still not be able to pay with common cards and services (EC, VISA, Master, GPay and Apple) in 2024? During the pandemic you could also use PayPal?

The food was pretty good, but the salad didn't feel fresh, quite large portions and very good flavor are worth the price, the service was quite fast and they didn't make us wait long. Maybe the negative point would be that there were a lot of people smoking cigarettes, but I understand why we were eating outside.

THE student pub in Duisburg - for current, former, historical students and those who want to become one. Great beer selection, really great cuisine, friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. The beer garden in particular is really great. The promotional weeks are also always worth a visit. Or quite simply: a cross-generational place for encounters and exchanges.

We went there for breakfast and it was really tasty. What I found unfortunate was that the coffee was very thin and the service was very slow due to a lack of coordination. The food took a good three quarters of an hour to arrive. The cold drink order also took a good 15 minutes to arrive, even though the drinks were already ready to be picked up. But overall it was still quite pleasant, so we'll come back again

Employees completely overwhelmed. Despite repeated requests, I waited 40 minutes before I could place the first order. Reordering drinks was also a game of roulette. After I said I wanted to pay, it took another 30 minutes. The waitress's answer was always the same: "Sorry, I forgot it." Employing students as waiters is a good thing. However, training should also be provided.

Just genius. I don't want to describe it any further here in words. You have to experience it to be believed. The beer garden, which you wouldn't expect at this point, is very cozy and unique in its kind in Duisburg. On top of that, the price and performance of food and drinks are also right. If you're more interested in eating here than enjoying the huge, good beer selection, there's good news: Yes, the food is really good. The small downside is that for 3 euros you only get half a handful of fries and the good dipping sauces also cost extra. Yes, you get full, but then you're always over 20 euros just for food. A must in Duisburg. That's where I like KöPi the best in all of Duisburg. It's a shame they swapped the pita bread from the burgers for brioche. It used to be my favorite burger ever. But the food is still fantastic. Always a cool, nice atmosphere.

You get the feeling that the working atmosphere internally is really good. A true paradise for alcohol drinkers and also for non-alcohol drinkers you will always find what you are looking for. The waiters can usually recommend something or you can play roulette on the menu with thousands of types of beer. In the winter season, the pub quiz evening on Mondays is highly recommended. Mood is great. Food is top. When the weather is good in the summer season, the beer garden is open and there are occasional parties on certain occasions. For those who get hungry late in the evening when the kitchen is already closed, you will still find dishes on the menu that you can order in the evening - these are also highly recommended, even if the kitchen is still open 🤓 The weekly menu changes regularly and is usually adapted to a specific theme. Breakfast on the weekend is also highly recommended. We were there with a group. The selection of beers was more than plentiful and everything was delivered very quickly. The burgers were good and large, but the burger was only slightly spicy. Basically, but very tasty. You can say that the price performance is still right here. Unfortunately there is no parking space. Importantly, the place doesn't look like anything from the outside, but once you're inside, it's really great.

Really cool concept, everyone who likes to drink beer and wants to drink internationally without traveling abroad will be happy here. Prices are lower than at beer fairs/events, for example, and the wide catalog makes it possible to drink in a very diverse way. Had another lovely evening at the Finkenkrug! :) Special praise goes out to the cook! The vegetarian and vegan dishes are really creative! You also notice that when tofu is used in different dishes, it is also seasoned differently! The weekly menu used enoki mushrooms instead of normal mushrooms! As a vegetarian you can just tell that a lot of effort is being put into it and you can see and taste it too 💕🤤

With five people at the table, the orders were assigned correctly without asking, even though the restaurant was busy and the waitress had to look around at several tables. There are a full five stars for this. The cuisine is good, the dishes are deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. The ambience corresponds to that of a "student pub" - it is quite loud when it is full. In the front area it is significantly cooler than in the guest room, and the smoke comes in from the outside area. The Finkenkrug is a kind of student bar, with food on offer and many types of beer. For my part, I was overwhelmed by all the different types of beer. It was a lot of fun to test your way through some of these. I'll definitely stop by every now and then.

A relatively hidden, wonderful gastro pub with an incredibly wide range of beers and, above all, a unique breakfast menu from many different countries. We opted for the British breakfast, a first class choice! The breakfast was very tasty, rich and attractively prepared. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was appropriate, especially since we were able to sit in the beer garden when the weather was very good. We will definitely visit the gastro pub again.

I always enjoy going to the Finkenkrug! I was definitely here more often when I was still at the University of DUE, but even now it's always nice to study the beer menu! It's just a shame that this has now been reduced to a list view ;)

Rustic, original, huge selection of beer and drinks, very busy, therefore noisy.

We were thrilled! Food was super tasty, burgers, fries and the desserts were really good! The beers were all cold and fizzy, as were the bottled ciders! (Especially Brothers Toffe Apple Cider is a real highlight!) Prices are okay, if a bit high, the staff is friendly but really busy! Clean toilets, card payment possible. Only the volume in the front "glass room" is really extreme, which is much more pleasant in the rest of the finch pitcher. Games can be rented for a deposit. We'll definitely be back!!!
