The vegetarian burger was okay, the fries were a bit small and not very seasoned (the price of the burger doesn't include fries). But it's definitely worth stopping by for a small snack or a drink. There are plenty of bike racks (even good ones), and there are also e-bike charging stations next door.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The burger was very, very tasty, and the salad was also really good! We were particularly pleased with the freshly tapped Peter's Kölsch beer – a real highlight. The location, right next to the open-cast mine viewpoint, is truly beautiful and invites you to linger. The restaurant itself is cozy and well-kept. The service was super friendly and quick; we hardly had to wait. All in all, a successful visit – we'd love to come back!

The Forum is an ideal stopover in the Rhenish lignite mining area. The external facilities could be designed even better. Food selection manageable. I personally expect more from event catering.

If you are a fan of tarte flambée, burgers, schnitzel plus the daily specials, this is the place for you. The food is highly recommended. Very friendly staff. Now that the beautiful season is beginning, you can also sit outside. Parking spaces in front of the door. Entrance accessible for disabled people.

Nice view, good food – but a waitress ruined the day The Terra Nova viewpoint is absolutely worth a visit - the view is breathtaking and the restaurant impresses with delicious food and a pleasant ambience. Unfortunately, my lovely day was overshadowed by a very unpleasant experience: one of the older waitresses exhibited completely unprofessional behavior, shouting angrily at guests and insulting them in a way that was completely inappropriate. I was also insulted in front of other guests, which completely ruined the mood. After this incident, I left the restaurant immediately. It's a real shame because everything was perfect up until then. The other waiters were friendly and attentive - this behavior was even more negative. My tip: Terra Nova is definitely worth it – both because of the view and the restaurant. But be careful: If you eat there, try to avoid this one particular waitress. --- Would you like a specific tone of voice (e.g. more factual, funny, emotional) or platform (Google, Tripadvisor, etc.)?

Staff overwhelmed. Waited at the table for 45 minutes without getting the card. The staff doesn't know whether you want to order food or pay. I wouldn't come here again for the restaurant.

Well, here you are not welcome as a customer if you sit on a comfortable bench at a table for 6 people. You'll be immediately driven away by the unfriendly staff. You notice the shop was empty except for one table inside. Otherwise I would have understood it. Then we just spend our money somewhere else. That was really a bad joke. The nice young lady kindly brings us the cards and then a red-haired woman comes and chases us away. I would say sales prevention order.

We were there on Saturday afternoon and wanted to eat there, but after the service walked past us three times without even asking what drink we wanted, we got up again after more than 15 minutes and left. I spend my money where I feel welcome. So not there.

A truly unique experience with a great view of the open-pit mine! I especially liked that the windows can be opened, creating a pleasant “outdoor” feeling. My Pulled-Coal Burger and mint lemonade were both excellent – great taste and nicely presented. The staff was very attentive and friendly, which made the overall experience even better. The ambiance is also very well done, with just one small but noticeable detail: On the handwritten menu board, there is a colored shadow on every word on the left side—except for a single word on the right. It was a little irritating, but didn’t affect the overall experience. In summary, a great place with delicious food, friendly service, and a special atmosphere. I will definitely come back! 10/10

When the weather is good, the service can quickly become overwhelmed. Food and drinks are good. Playground not well maintained and large parts of it have been closed off for over a year because equipment is broken. Very unfortunate.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. We specifically chose this restaurant because it is said to be child-friendly - but the playground was closed, with no alternative for the little ones. Very disappointing! The service was also poor. We had to wait forever, while guests who arrived long after us were given priority and served faster. Our drinks only came after we asked several times. The staff was unfriendly and didn't seem interested in our complaints. Overall a frustrating experience. - we definitely won't be coming back!

As a local resident, I always enjoy being a guest at Terra Nova. Be it just a coffee in good weather or a delicious waffle in winter! I often haven't studied the menu there, but I ate there today and just have to write a review! The service staff are always very nice, but today's employee was extremely friendly, without feigning fake friendliness. He was very attentive and it was a very nice stay! Thanks for that! The schnitzel with Puztka sauce was very, very tasty. The fries tasted really, really good too! French fries seasoning instead of normal salt *yammy* The perfect thing for my cheat day 😂 thank you very much and keep it up!

We can only recommend this place. We were invited to the civil wedding. About 30 people. The only complaint was the weather but who can influence that.

Delicious food and very friendly staff

Die Speisen sind qualitativ gut - gute Auswahl und auch der Preis passt. Was allerdings eine absolute Katastrophe ist, ist der Service. Als wir vor Ort waren, war es absolut nicht voll. Wir haben dennoch eine halbe Stunde gewartet, um Getränke aufgeben zu können. Das zog sich leider wie ein roter Faden durch unseren Aufenthalt.

It's cozy inside, the food is delicious, the prices are average, Outside, near the observation deck on the sand pit, there are metal deckchairs to sit and enjoy the scenery. There is a children's playground, but it is a little neglected and under repair, but there is a lot of open space to run around.

We celebrated there with a brunch and 40 guests and it was great satisfied. The location and surroundings are very impressive. The brunch itself was great: the cold/warm buffet was beautifully presented, the food was very tasty and varied and the "in-house" baker is also highly recommended. The staff was super friendly and attentive. All guests felt very comfortable. The planning in advance with the friendly manager was competent and uncomplicated. The implementation of all wishes worked great. And the price/performance ratio is unbeatable. We can also fully recommend the restaurant for celebrations.

Very nice and attentive staff💯👍. I can only 💯% recommend everyone to experience brunch there. 😍💯. That was definitely not the last time we were there, as the dinner was also great.👍💯😍

!!!WE ARE SHOCKED!!! I don't know how to start, the shock is so deep. My son (9 years old) will have his first communion on April 30, 2022. We planned communion 6 weeks ago at Terra Nova and received confirmation. We consciously chose Terra Nova. There is a beautiful outdoor terrace on site, there is a lot to watch from the viewing point, there is also a playground for the little guests, guests with dogs have the opportunity to take a walk on the large area around Terra Nova. Everything would have been perfect. My wife's family lives in Italy and has flights booked and a hotel. My family comes from Lower Saxony and has already booked a hotel. Vacation was taken. My wife made the invitation cards for over 20 people herself. Everything was planned for this one day. My son was so happy. Yesterday on March 16th, 2022, six weeks later, Terra Nova allegedly noticed that an employee made a mistake when booking and there were already 2 bookings for communion and we were canceled. There was no offer of another solution, there was no apology, there was no type of compensation, NOTHING. This is a huge impudence. We think that the place was simply given to others who are closer to Terra Nova. The excuse is very unbelievable after 6 weeks. We can't find anything new now because after 2 years of Corona everyone is now celebrating communion. Everything is completely booked. We have now had to cancel everyone, everyone is extremely shocked and sad. We adults can put up with it, but I will never forgive you for the way my son feels now, that he is sad and cried because he has been looking forward to this appointment for two years. You died for me. No foot of mine will ever set foot on the soil of Terra Nova again. I'm so mad!!!

Were there on a Thursday. The food was very good and the price/performance ratio was right. Since we don't come from here, we had a few questions about coal mining. The staff was very friendly and of course answered these questions and stopped us for a quick chat. All in all you can say that a visit is worth it! The open pit mine is breathtaking, with a beauty that is barren and of impressive size. It's a windy day and we love the views. We slipped into the cafe and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. Very modern, and the fresh waffles with hot cherries and cream were a perfect match for the beautiful autumn evening. We had a wonderful time, sitting with our friends, chatting, drinking and eating in a relaxed, modern environment.

The service was friendly and quick. The coffee was a pleasure. The ambience was good, despite the crowd it wasn't loud. Only the Kaiserschmarrn was so-so (ready from the can).

Unfortunately very bad service! After 20 minutes in the store and apparently no one was able to book anything into the system. Were other customers preferred. There is a sign in the store that says you can get a soft drink with a good Google rating! I would be happy to give one to your staff and explain to you how to treat customers.

Waited forever for the drinks, 3 service staff and 4 occupied tables (almost empty). Food was terrible (tarte flambée Greco = touch of nothing and dusty dry, except for the measly topping. Unfortunately it was also cold.). The accompanying chicken dish was good.

Catastrophe! Were there for Oktoberfest. The live music filled the hall empty and the service was so good that we had to point out to serve the neighboring table... Food was okay, but it won't last long... we got the starter with the main course... The toilets didn't seem cleaned for days...

Very nice atmosphere, you can relax under the parasols even on a warm day. I've been there several times for coffee (stay away from iced coffee, it's no good). The food at the surrounding tables also looked good. The sign at the entrance telling you to wait there seems a bit unnecessary as you sometimes stand there for a long time waiting for the staff who are busy with other things. Overall, it seems as if the staffing is quite limited. The waitresses are really very friendly, but unfortunately the waiting times are rather underground. In my opinion, there is still clearly room for improvement here.

The takeaway cappuccino was a pleasure to drink

The staff is very nice, the restaurant is modern, unfortunately the immediate area is very dirty and the playground was almost completely cordoned off. Unfortunately, the food was a complete failure for me. The chicken strips were burnt black and could hardly be distinguished from brown coal. The whole stalk was in my salad and the grated cheese was folded in in thick clumps. The court should never have gone out like that. The dishes are all very simple and quick to make, and the dressing didn't seem handmade to me either, which is why these deficiencies are all the more serious.
