The place could be a bit more comfortable. Otherwise everything was good.

I wasn't expecting such a viewpoint. A good, delicious restaurant with friendly staff. A great atmosphere and a wonderful view. We'd love to come back.

The atmosphere was great, the food was a bit mediocre and overpriced. However, it was a Sunday with an event going on next door, and the place was very busy.

Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I wanted to eat here with our children. Instead of being greeted warmly, we were treated condescendingly – both by the waitress and through derogatory comments towards colleagues. It was very disrespectful and hurtful. We wanted to order something for the children and take it with us. At first, we were told it was possible, even on paper plates – but later, a member of staff suddenly refused. We found the way we were spoken to discriminatory and racist. I travel a lot and have been to restaurants in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Thailand, and Morocco – everywhere the service was warm and respectful. In comparison, the treatment here was simply unprofessional and off-putting. We didn't order anything and left. This isn't how restaurants should be.

We are absolutely delighted by this ambiance. The staff, especially the mother and son, are a fantastic team. The food is excellent, the music is fantastic, and the drinks are cold. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to feel at home. Even special requests are fulfilled as far as possible without complaint. Whether inside or outside, it's the perfect place to unwind. We enjoy every moment we spend there.

A real insider tip! I visited this little café for the first time today – and I'm absolutely thrilled. The atmosphere is super cozy, and you can immediately tell that great attention to detail goes into the work here. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. I tried the nachos – crispy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The other snacks on the menu also looked very inviting. The drinks menu is small but fine – there's something for every taste. I particularly liked the relaxed atmosphere of the café, where you just want to sit and relax. Ideal for a short break, meeting up with friends, or just relaxing on your own. Conclusion: Delicious food, great service, and a really pleasant atmosphere – I'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Truly delicious food! The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy, the nachos were perfectly seasoned, and the Kaiserschmarrn was fluffy and warm – absolutely fantastic. A cold Spezi with it was just right. The service was friendly and quick, and you immediately felt at home. Everything was clean and relaxed, no rush. In summary: Good food, good drinks, good people – I'll definitely be back!

Good location with friendly staff

The Terra Nova in Elsdorf is truly a special place. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, ideal for families. The food is delicious and prepared with love. The friendly staff deserves special mention, offering a warm welcome and is always attentive and welcoming. It's a little paradise for families with children – the little ones have plenty of opportunities to play and feel completely at home. Five stars are absolutely deserved!

I simply can't recommend it anymore. We were there yesterday at 12:00 p.m., 30 degrees, and they told us the umbrellas wouldn't be opened because of the strong wind. What nonsense! There was hardly any wind. After the first 50 people had taken their seats inside because it was too hot outside, and all the tables inside were occupied, the umbrellas were opened anyway. That way, the tables inside get full, too. It's just not that exciting. The four of us definitely won't be coming back, and neither will anyone else.

Wir haben zu fünft einen wunderbaren Abend vor einer spektakulären Kulisse verbracht. Wir wurden außergewöhnlich aufmerksam, freundlich und herzlich bedient. ( Besonderen Dank an Bianca und Dominik!) Das Essen war sehr gut und die Preise angemessen. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen, das war sicher nicht der letzte Besuch .

Original! It's great that there's such a nice restaurant in such a place and not just a chip shop. The Coal Burger is a funny, self-deprecating detail.

An older woman served me. She was completely overwhelmed and unfriendly. I ordered a cappuccino that tasted like hot milk. Her demeanor in front of other guests was no better.

The vegetarian burger was okay, the fries were a bit small and not very seasoned (the price of the burger doesn't include fries). But it's definitely worth stopping by for a small snack or a drink. There are plenty of bike racks (even good ones), and there are also e-bike charging stations next door.

The Forum is an ideal stopover in the Rhenish lignite mining area. The external facilities could be designed even better. Food selection manageable. I personally expect more from event catering.

Nice view, good food – but a waitress ruined the day The Terra Nova viewpoint is absolutely worth a visit - the view is breathtaking and the restaurant impresses with delicious food and a pleasant ambience. Unfortunately, my lovely day was overshadowed by a very unpleasant experience: one of the older waitresses exhibited completely unprofessional behavior, shouting angrily at guests and insulting them in a way that was completely inappropriate. I was also insulted in front of other guests, which completely ruined the mood. After this incident, I left the restaurant immediately. It's a real shame because everything was perfect up until then. The other waiters were friendly and attentive - this behavior was even more negative. My tip: Terra Nova is definitely worth it – both because of the view and the restaurant. But be careful: If you eat there, try to avoid this one particular waitress. --- Would you like a specific tone of voice (e.g. more factual, funny, emotional) or platform (Google, Tripadvisor, etc.)?

Well, here you are not welcome as a customer if you sit on a comfortable bench at a table for 6 people. You'll be immediately driven away by the unfriendly staff. You notice the shop was empty except for one table inside. Otherwise I would have understood it. Then we just spend our money somewhere else. That was really a bad joke. The nice young lady kindly brings us the cards and then a red-haired woman comes and chases us away. I would say sales prevention order.

My Pulled-Coal Burger and mint lemonade were both excellent – great taste and nicely presented. The staff was very attentive and friendly, which made the overall experience even better. The ambiance is also very well done, with just one small but noticeable detail: On the handwritten menu board, there is a colored shadow on every word on the left side—except for a single word on the right. It was a little irritating, but didn’t affect the overall experience. In summary, a great place with delicious food, friendly service, and a special atmosphere. I will definitely come back! 10/10

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. We specifically chose this restaurant because it is said to be child-friendly - but the playground was closed, with no alternative for the little ones. Very disappointing! The service was also poor. We had to wait forever, while guests who arrived long after us were given priority and served faster. Our drinks only came after we asked several times. The staff was unfriendly and didn't seem interested in our complaints. Overall a frustrating experience. - we definitely won't be coming back!

When the weather is good, the service can quickly become overwhelmed. Food and drinks are good. Playground not well maintained and large parts of it have been closed off for over a year because equipment is broken. Very unfortunate.

The schnitzel with Puztka sauce was very, very tasty. The fries tasted really, really good too! French fries seasoning instead of normal salt *yammy* The perfect thing for my cheat day 😂 thank you very much and keep it up!

We can only recommend this place. We were invited to the civil wedding. About 30 people. The only complaint was the weather but who can influence that.

Die Speisen sind qualitativ gut - gute Auswahl und auch der Preis passt. Was allerdings eine absolute Katastrophe ist, ist der Service. Als wir vor Ort waren, war es absolut nicht voll. Wir haben dennoch eine halbe Stunde gewartet, um Getränke aufgeben zu können. Das zog sich leider wie ein roter Faden durch unseren Aufenthalt.

It's cozy inside, the food is delicious, the prices are average, Outside, near the observation deck on the sand pit, there are metal deckchairs to sit and enjoy the scenery. There is a children's playground, but it is a little neglected and under repair, but there is a lot of open space to run around.

We celebrated there with a brunch and 40 guests and it was great satisfied. The location and surroundings are very impressive. The brunch itself was great: the cold/warm buffet was beautifully presented, the food was very tasty and varied and the "in-house" baker is also highly recommended. The staff was super friendly and attentive. All guests felt very comfortable. The planning in advance with the friendly manager was competent and uncomplicated. The implementation of all wishes worked great. And the price/performance ratio is unbeatable. We can also fully recommend the restaurant for celebrations.
