In my opinion the best restaurant in Hanover. Great, not over-the-top service, extremely creative, delicious food.

It's been a long time since I've eaten so well and experienced great service

The ambience was great, the food was very tasty. Something different that you don't do every day. Drinks disappointing. Water is way too overpriced. Red wine only two types open to choose from. And too expensive for these varieties. Maybe a suggestion to have something to drink with the dishes. A Dornfelder on the map wouldn't be bad. It's a shame that something was only explained for the large ten-course menu, and there was no explanation for only three courses. Very unfortunate. Maybe explain it to the guest as a tip and ask if they would like the larger menu so that they can go on a culinary journey.

We were in the restaurant for the first time and chose the 10 course menu. We are excited. The gears are perfectly coordinated. The ingredients are high quality and processed with a lot of love. The service is attentive and extremely friendly. Our dog was also treated like a guest. We'll definitely be back. 5 stars are still not enough for what is conjured up there!!!!!!

Gourmet class of a special kind and the star of Hanover. Because of the contribution from Kabel Eins, where Esskultur was the best restaurant, we went to the restaurant. The well-thought-out dishes that melt in your mouth are our highlight. If we eat out, it's here. The staff is super friendly and takes time for every single guest. They take requests and try to make the visit more enjoyable. The eye clearly eats here. We particularly liked that the owner fused some of the dishes. A feast for the palate and eyes for anyone who wants to deviate from the 0815 and be carried away into a world of taste that they are not yet familiar with. Super nice atmosphere, great music.. Simply great

One of those restaurants that you shouldn't go into hungry. That would be ok if the dishes were exciting and varied. In my case they weren't. The chewy starter roll with something-or-other foam, the crumbly amuse gueule, the beef in dashi stock, the chicken. Everything had the same, penetrating, far too dominant note, which one might politely describe as umami. To be on the safe side, I skipped dessert. The staff was extremely inattentive. I had a single table and chose the other, uncovered side of the table so that I could see out the window. I was then allowed to arrange the plentiful cutlery on my seat myself. Orders for drinks were only taken upon request. The employees mostly stayed in side rooms anyway. So short and sweet, unfortunately not a recommendation

We booked the 10 course menu on the occasion of my husband's birthday. It was our first time there and definitely not the last time. The quantity was simply mega. Everything was very well coordinated and everything was very nicely presented. The explanations from Sascha and his colleague were very exciting and we were immediately looking forward to the next course. Service was also very accommodating and really nice. Keep it up. Big compliment for the chocolates. Thanks to you for the great evening.

First of all, many thanks to the team for our culinary experience in this service-oriented restaurant. We had fun! Our courses were good to very good, as were our drinks. Personally, I found the Einrichtubg to be so tasteful that I would have liked to change something ;-) But yes, it's a matter of taste, so of course no points are deducted for it. I was a bit annoyed by the water on offer. The menu read Viva from Agua loudly. We got the seltzer medium for more money, as if it were some super water. But it doesn't taste good and it's nothing special. Doesn't fit in with the rest at all. Especially not the price. It's rather silly. We were very happy with everything else - everything was understandable. Another point of criticism that is incomprehensible to me: The table lamps were all very dusty. Very strange. But the food was very good and everything overall was nice for us despite the criticisms! So thank you very much for the wonderful evening and especially the special meal that we came for. Happy to see you next time! For vegetarians we would like to point out that the corresponding dishes are very good and special!

We liked the restaurant, we felt comfortable, the atmosphere was appealing, but unfortunately the service was sometimes forgetful - as already mentioned in other reviews - especially towards the end of the evening. There was no wine service, we poured and refilled the wine ourselves. The main courses were small and none of us were really full despite the starter. The food was good, very nicely presented but not delicious. The food products are certainly high quality. Maybe our expectations were too high. It's certainly a matter of taste, but there were several of us and we all felt that way. Nevertheless, we'll come back, try the 10-course menu that's been so praised and report back.

The food is a dream, value for money is right. The quality of the goods and the preparation are top notch. Very delicately seasoned and well presented. The portions could be a little larger. The service is friendly and attentive, but it is part of the hotel and sometimes seems to be still in training. Not very well organized yet and becomes a bit inattentive as the evening progresses. That doesn't ruin the visit, but it does prevent the “perfect” evening, which is a shame. The ambience is simply tasteful and makes you feel comfortable. If the likeable boss (Sascha Werhahn) has time, he is happy to chat. We can fully recommend a visit and will definitely come back again.

The “EssKultur” restaurant is located in the “me and all hotel” hotel, centrally located on Aegidientorplatz, which belongs to the “jdV by Hyatt” hotel chain brand and is aimed at a “young at heart” audience. From the outside there is nothing to indicate a restaurant, which introduces itself on its official website as a fine dining restaurant with individual and high-quality cuisine that combines influences from different cultures. The menu should probably change monthly. The menu in March did not surprise with unusual flavor variations. The familiar flavors were particularly convincing due to the aesthetic and artistic presentation of the dishes. Everything was perfect in terms of craftsmanship and taste, but unfortunately the portions turned out to be very small, which spoiled the overall impression a little. In addition, the menu, which was deliberately kept simple, only offered very limited options for vegetarians and vegans. Dishes are not marked as such. A spontaneous dinner is therefore rather unsuitable for this target group. The prices for food seem very cheap at first, but the portions are really very small. I could actually have eaten three times as much of each course, which would end up being €30 plus per course. In addition to the standard soft drinks, the drinks menu from the hotel bar offers a small, nice selection of non-alcoholic alternatives such as mocktails, 3 long drinks, 2 non-alcoholic wines (white and rosé) and non-alcoholic beer. However, the prices for drinks are in the (very) high segment and seem slightly exaggerated. The service was unobtrusive but always present and responded friendly to questions about vegetarian and vegan options. The ambience in an urban industrial style with brick walls, lots of leather, wood and iron is modern and clean, although the tables seem a bit small. The chairs and benches are very comfortable and invite you to linger. All in all, EssKultur offers a positive gastronomic experience with well-crafted and aesthetically presented food. However, vegetarians and vegans should plan their visit in advance.

Rarely have I seen so much joy at work. Top service, Sascha mega chef, it was a great evening. Dishes were well conceived and with a lot of preparatory work planned and prepared great ingredients. It was a culinary delight in a very pleasant atmosphere. The service staff and the chef were very polite and pleasant and always cared about the well-being of their guests. I would eat there again at any time and, above all, enjoy the great food and the atmosphere. We recommend.

Title: An ambivalent experience in an exciting location The location was undoubtedly impressive and the food was a real treat, with flavor explosions that made every visit worth it. However, unfortunately the service wasn't quite at the same level. This may be because there is only one person managing the store. The atmosphere of the location was impressive and invited you to linger. The variety of dishes offered a wide selection for every taste and left nothing to be desired. From hearty dishes to delicate desserts – culinary diversity is very important here. However, the service clouded the overall picture. Although friendly, the staff seemed overwhelmed due to the understaffing. Unfortunately, long waiting times and occasionally forgotten orders were not uncommon. It was obvious that one person alone was not enough to run the operation smoothly. Overall, the location is definitely recommended due to its ambience and the quality of the food. However, it would be appreciated if management would review staff resources and ensure service meets the high standard of the rest of the experience.

We spent a very pleasant evening there. The food was super tasty and interesting, the service was super friendly and completely uncomplicated, the ambience is simply beautiful. There are sufficient parking spaces available at the garden church (they are not part of the hotel). After three courses (starter, main course, dessert) we felt full, but not pasta-filled. As a delicacy there was a sourdough roll and a greeting from the kitchen. You will also be asked about allergies when making your reservation. The only point: the menu is written in so small that I could hardly decipher it even with glasses. Luckily you can also look online.

We had the 10 course menu, with various greetings from the kitchen. I am absolutely convinced by the food! All courses were very tasteful and well prepared. For each course there was an entertaining and competent explanation from the chef about the ingredients and preparation. The food definitely deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The only disappointment 😩 was the service. Given the great food, I would have liked more attentive service here. Drinks sometimes had to be ordered twice because they were simply forgotten. Cutlery wasn't given (we then had to help ourselves at the neighboring table)...dear team..you can certainly do better. But what counts is the food, and it was great! The ambience is at least as strong!

Das 10-Gänge-Menü ist zweifellos das Highlight dieses kulinarischen Juwels. Die Preisleistung ist mehr als gerechtfertigt – man erhält hier alles, was das Herz begehrt und noch mehr. Die Erfahrung ist durchaus vergleichbar mit einem Sternerestaurant. Von faszinierendem Storytelling bis hin zu kunstvoll gestalteten Tellern – jedes Detail trägt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis bei. Der Service ist makellos, und der Ablauf des Abends ist bis ins kleinste Detail durchdacht. Wir sind begeistert von der herausragenden Qualität der Speisen, der charmanten Atmosphäre und dem herzlichen Personal. Dieses Restaurant ist für uns eine feste Adresse für besondere Anlässe geworden. Absolut empfehlenswert!

War schon zweimal hier essen. Gestern das zweite Mal. Wieder das 1-Gänge-Menü. Die Hollondaise war einfach göttlich! Die Karte war wanders, neue Gerichte - das hat mich erfreut. Habe Sscha kennengelernt. War etwas verwundert, dass es so ein junger Koch ist. Sehr talentiert, wie auch seine Crew. Die Musik war auch sehr angenehm. Komme gerne wieder um neue Geschmackserlebnisse einzusammeln :) weiter so!

Auch wenn wir unser 10 Gänge Menü vorzeitig beenden müssten, war das Essen sehr lecker und das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Seit langem haben wir solch ein nettes Personalservice nicht erlebt. Wir kommen liebend gerne wieder!

Herausragend! Das beschreibt dieses Restaurant wohl trefflich. Hier findet man in einem wirklich lockeren, zwanglosen Rahmen eine ganz hervorragende Küche. Wir empfehlen unbedingt das 10-Gang-Menü. So kann man in kleinen Portionen die ganze Karte kennenlernen. Und ihr werdet satt! Das Team ist sehr freundlich, jeder machbare Wunsch wird erfüllt. Auf Allergien und Unverträglichkeiten wird bereits im Rahmen der Reservierung eingegangen. Eine Reservierungsanfrage am Vortag um 22:30 per Email wurde keine zehn Minuten später beantwortet. Das Essen schmeckt super und jeder Gang ist ein eigenes Kunstwerk! Die Cocktails sind ebenso gut. Unbedingt ausprobieren! Da die Karte monatlich wechselt werden wir hier jetzt wohl öfters sein :)

Wir haben gestern einen ganz wunderbaren Abend in der "EssKultur" verbracht, bei dem einfach alles stimmte: Das Ambiente, der Service und natürlich das herausragende Essen! Nicht nur, dass die Speisen fantastisch geschmeckt haben, jeder einzelne Gang wurde so wunderschön und liebevoll angerichtet, dass man ihn kaum essen wollte. Der Chef hat uns dabei immer erklärt, um was für Nahrungsmittel es sich handelt (für Laien nicht immer sofort erkennbar ;-) und wie es zubereitet wurde: sehr interessant. Unser Fazit: 10 von 10 Sternchen und: Wir kommen wieder :-) Danke ans ganze Team für den netten Abend bei Euch.

Naja was kann man da mehr sagen als: Bitte mindestens einmal hinfahren und erleben. Wir hatten das 10 Gang Menü (79 EUR/p.P. was wirklich Fair ist), es sind eigentlich alle 10 auf der Speisekarte vorhandenen Gerichte, nur in kleiner Version. Und ja man wird natürlich satt und das auch noch mit wirklich leckersten Speisen. Der Service war Top und äusserst zuvorkommend. Man merkt ein junges und ambitioniertes Team, die Freude an. Preis Leistung sicherlich eines der besten Restaurants in der Region Hannover. Sterne Niveau ohne Zwang. Gerne weiterso, wir sind bald wieder da. P.S. Wir hatten das 10 Gänge Menü und waren restlos begeistert. Das Team war super nett, aufmerksam und frisch unterwegs und die Preise, was Getränke und das Essen angeht, sind mehr als fair, für die gebotene Qualität. Wir hatten im Anschluss noch ein paar Runden Cocktails. Diese waren auch lecker, aber ich fand den Barkeeper etwas arrogant. Hat so gar nicht zum tollen Team aus der Küche gepasst.

Ein wirklich schöner Abend. Das Essen war perfekt abgestimmt, 10 Gänge mit sehr leckeren Gerichten. Man wurde auf jeden Fall satt. Der Service was prima, mit Beschreibung der jeweiligen Gänge, konnte man sich alles perfekt vorstellen. Es hat spaß gemacht. Und wir werden in jedem Fall nochmal kommen.

Wir waren jetzt schon häufiger dort und hatten am Donnerstag wieder einen wunderbaren Abend im und mit dem EssKultur. Zu empfehlen ist auf jeden Fall das 10 Gang Menü bei dem Sascha, oder einer seiner Köche, die einzelnen Speisen vorstellt. Es ist schon enorm viel Aufwand den die Küche für ihre Kreationen betreibt. Alle 10 Gänge waren super kreativ und sehr lecker. (Sorry Sascha, darf man "lecker" im Zusammenhang mit den Speisen und der Mühe die ihr Euch macht überhaupt so sagen?) Abgerundet wurde das Essen durch eine individuelle Getränkebegleitung. Auch hier sind wir hervorragend von Benne und Zoe durch den Abend begleitet worden. Zusammengefasst hat uns das EssKultur einen sehr schönen Abend in lockerer Atmosphäre, mit hervorragendem Essen und topp Service beschert. Vielen Dank dafür!!

Top Restaurant, super Küchenchef! Wir waren nun bereits zweimal bei Sascha Werhahn und seinem Team zu Gast und planen, mit dem monatlichen Wechsel der Karte, regelmäßig wieder zu kommen. Bei jedem Besuch waren wir stets ausnahmslos von der Küche und den Gerichten begeistert. Der sympathische Küchenchef nimmt sich auch selbst die Zeit, die Gerichte persönlich zu erläutern und die Zufriedenheit der Gäste rückzufragen. Da wir einen guten Vergleich mit der gehobenen Gastronomie in vielen anderen deutschen Großstädten (Nord- wie Süddeutschland) ziehen können, bestätigt sich unsere positive Meinung - gerade in Bezug auf das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Service kann, vermutlich aufgrund des Hotelhintergrunds, nicht gänzlich mit der Qualität der Küche mithalten - ist jedoch stets freundlich und kundenorientiert. Das Ambiente im Rahmen des Hotels ist ebenso nicht zu 100% adäquat, verspürt aber durchaus modernen Charme. Lange Rede kurzer Sinn, wir kommen stets gerne und wieder zu Sascha und seinem Team.

What a fun and tasty dinner here. Food was great and the staff were super friendly. I let the waiter choose my courses based on his thoughts. Pictures attached. A great find in the city for a traveller. Amazing value for money as well.

Das Restaurant ist nur zu empfehlen. Sehr guter Service und individuelle Gerichte. Jeden Monat gibt es eine neue Speisekarte. Auch das Ambiente ist sehr einladend.

Tolles Event mit tollen Gerichten, nettes Personal

Die Reise durch das Menü kann ich nur empfehlen. Es wird auf jeden Fall eine spannende Reise. Asian Fusion! Ich kann auf jeden Fall den Nudelgang und die Rouladen empfehlen. Ansonsten ist jeder Gang eine Überraschung und ich mag am meisten die Sachen von denen ich es vorher nicht erwartet hätte. Ich mag das Ambiente sehr. Es ist gemütlich und die Einrichtung sehr stimmig. Ich war jetzt drei Mal da und nur ein Mal hat es mit der Reservierung geklappt. Am besten reserviert man über die DMs bei Instagram. Das funktioniert super. Im übrigen, am besten einfach dem Instagram Konto folgen. Dann bekommt man tolle Bilder von den Sachen die man diesen Monat hätte essen können! Alle anderen angeboten Möglichkeiten haben bei mir nicht funktioniert. Der Service ist zwischen durch etwas schwierig. Wir wurden nicht zwischen durch gefragt ob wir noch was trinken möchten, oder unsere Bestellung wurde vergessen. Meiner Meinung hängt das wahrscheinlich mit der fehlenden Erfahrung vom Service zusammen. Das kann sich also nur positiv entwickeln.

Aus vegetarischer Sicht ist das Restaurant nur bedingt zu empfehlen. Die vegetarischen Optionen sind eher gewöhnlich und bei weitem nicht so kreativ wie die Gerichte mit Fleisch und/oder Fisch. Leider weist die Speisekarte kaum Allergene u.ä. aus, erst vor Ort habe ich erfahren, dass beide Desserts Gelatine enthalten. Das war sehr schade und ich finde das auch nicht zeitgemäß. Insgesamt war das Fazit unserer Gruppe, dass das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hier nicht ganz stimmt. Da der Laden relativ neu ist und ich hoffe, dass diese Rezension eine Anregung für die Küche sein kann, gebe ich vier statt gefühlter drei Sterne.

Schon mehrmals war ich privat in der EssKultur und bin sehr begeistert!! Die Speisen sind auf sehr hohem Niveau gekocht, unfassbar lecker, wunderschön angerichtet und dennoch absolut bezahlbar. Zuletzt waren wir mit 20 Personen zur Weihnachtsfeier in der EssKultur ♥️ auch hier war das 5-Gang Menü absolut grandios. Vielen Dank! Das Ambiente ist super gemütlich und der Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bis bald ☺️
