Ein wirklich schöner Abend … Tolles Essen mit interessanten Variationen und Kombinationen und einer recht gelungenen Weinbegleitung. Lediglich der Gang mit dem gerösteten Schwarzbrot war viel zu bitter und nicht gut. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Servicekräfte und damit ein gelungener Besuch ….

Wir waren heute im Restaurant EssKultur und sind einfach nur hin und weg! Schon beim Reinkommen fällt auf, wie viel Liebe hier im Detail steckt – das stilvolle Ambiente mit den edlen Holzelementen sorgt sofort für eine Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Wir hatten das aktuelle Menü und jeder einzelne Gang war ein absolutes Highlight – unfassbar kreativ kombiniert, handwerklich perfekt und wunderschön angerichtet. Man schmeckt und fühlt einfach in jedem Bissen, mit wie viel Leidenschaft und Herzblut hier in der Küche und im Service gearbeitet wird. Ein echtes kulinarisches Juwel in Hannover für alle, die gutes Essen und eine herzliche Gastfreundschaft schätzen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Für einen gelungenen Abend ist für uns der Service / das Ambiente essenziell, und das stimmt im Esskultur zu 100% - man fühlt sich wie unter Freunden. Das Essen war außerdem sehr besonders - insbesondere auch für Vegetarier, was in Hannover auf diesem Niveau nicht ganz einfach zu finden ist. Daher absolute Weiterempfehlung!

Waren zum 2 Mal dieses Jahr da wieder mal extra Klasse 👍 die Gerichte sind mega cool mit viel Aufwand und ein Aromen Spiel was seines gleichen sucht. Ich sage mal eines der besten Restaurants in Hannover. Vor zu heben ist auch das super nette Personal wo die Leidenschaft den Gast ein vergnüglichen Abend zu bescheren den Raum mit einer ungezwungenen Aura füllt. Es war uns ein Vergnügen 😎💯 eine Anmerkung sollte es doch noch geben die Weinkarte könnte schon etwas üppiger gestaltet sein. m.m

Mein Besuch bei Esskultur Hannover war wieder einmal ein echtes Highlight. Was Sascha Werhahn und sein Team hier auf die Teller bringen, hat absolut Fine-Dining-Niveau und gehört für mich ganz klar in die Kategorie „5-Sterne-Küche“. Besonders beeindruckend finde ich, wie stark sich die Menüauswahl an den Jahreszeiten orientiert. Bei unserem letzten Besuch hatte das gesamte Menü eine wunderbar leichte, frische Note – fast so, als würde man den Frühling schmecken. Sehr fein abgestimmt, kreativ und dabei nie überladen. Jeder Gang ist geschmacklich auf den Punkt, hochwertig angerichtet und zeigt echtes handwerkliches Können. Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit viel Liebe zum Detail gearbeitet wird. Auch der Service ist aufmerksam und stellt jeden Gang mit einer kurzen, anschaulichen Beschreibung vor, sodass man direkt weiß, welche Geschmackserlebnisse einen erwarten, was das Gesamterlebnis perfekt abrundet. Für alle, die wirklich gutes Essen zu schätzen wissen: Absolute Empfehlung!

Eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants. Das Essen ist jedes Mal richtig stark – kreativ, perfekt abgestimmt und einfach besonders. Was es für mich aber herausstechen lässt, ist der Service: aufmerksam, entspannt und dabei total herzlich. Man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Komme mit meinem Mann immer wieder gerne zurück.

Wer die perfekte Symbiose aus handwerklicher Präzision und herzlicher Nahbarkeit sucht, kommt an der Esskultur in Hannover nicht vorbei. Unser Besuch war weit mehr als nur ein Abendessen – es war ein Erlebnis, das nachklingt. Jeder Gang des Menus ist ein kleines Kunstwerk. Die Gerichte sind edel angerichtet und ein wahrer Genuss für das Auge. Doch der eigentliche Zauber passiert am Gaumen: Sascha Werhahn und sein Team schaffen es, feine Nuancen so abzustimmen, dass sie in echten Geschmacksexplosionen münden. Ein großes Lob an den Service! Die Weine waren perfekt auf die Menüabfolge abgestimmt und haben die Aromen der Speisen wunderbar gehoben und ergänzt. Das Ambiente ist,wie der Name schon verrät, Casual Fine Dining. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt. Sascha selbst ist unglaublich bodenständig und sympathisch. Man hat das Gefühl, bei Freunden zu Hause am Tisch zu sitzen – nur eben mit einer Küche auf Weltklasse-Niveau. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Gestern Abend konnte ich dieses herrliche 5 Gang Menu einschl. Weinbegleitung in vollen Zügen geniessen. Was für ein Erlebnis für Gaumen und Augen! Jeder Gang eine neue Überraschung, nicht gekocht, sondern choreografiert und inszeniert. Dabei gefertigt aus bodenständigen und natürlichen Zutaten der Region und der Jahreszeit. Nicht abgedreht, sondern einfach furios lecker.

Kleines aber feines Restaurant. Vielseitiges Menü mit umwerfenden Geschmackserlebnissen. Zusätzlich zu den offiziellen 4-5 Gängen gibt es noch viele kleine, sehr leckere Zwischengönge. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Küche kann sich geschmacklich mit Sterne-Restaurants in Hannover messen.

Ein Essen wie ich es noch nicht erlebt habe. Eine Geschmacksexplosion im Mund unvorstellbar. Ambiente ,Bedienung und das Herz (die Küche) die Köche ein Hammer. Würde jederzeit dort wieder hin gehen. Also kurz und knackig könnte man mehr Sterne geben volle Punktzahl hat das Team verdient . Danke für den Abend werde ich so schnell nicht vergessen .

Wir haben dieses Lokal im Rahmen einer Firmenfeier besucht und waren sehr begeistert. Besonders gefallen hat uns die ungewöhnliche Präsentation der Gerichte sowie das stilvolle und kreative Geschirr, das jedes Gericht noch besonderer gemacht hat. Die Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm, gemütlich und zugleich modern. Das Essen war nicht nur sehr lecker, sondern auch mit viel Liebe und Fantasie angerichtet. Man merkt deutlich, dass das gesamte Team mit Engagement arbeitet und seine Arbeit wirklich liebt. Ich kann dieses Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und werde es gerne wieder besuchen.

Was soll man sagen: Besser geht kaum noch! 5-Gang-Menü geplant; zwischendurch den Upgrade-Gang eingebaut (gezupfte Entenkeule in asiatischer Hollandaise). Start mit einem Negroni als Aperitiv und nach ein paar Amuse Gueule begann das kulinarische Feuerwerk aus Gerichten mit perfekt abgestimmten Weinen. Der Service (Bestnote) lässt keine Wünsche offen und erklärt jeden Wein auf seine Rebsorte, Herkunft sowie dem Aromenbild, damit man genau weiß, wie man dieses zum Gericht einordnen kann. Dazu wird stets das fehlende Besteck nachgedeckt, sodass man sich selbst seine optimale Weise aus Gabel, Löffel und Messer zurecht legen kann (wenn man mal nicht nur die Finger für den Verzehr benötigt). Abgerundet durch toll angemachte Espressi nach dem Dessert kann ich nur wiederholen: Es war nicht das erste und gewiss nicht das letzte Mal im EssKultur! My boyfriend and I were both absolutely thrilled! We opted for the five-course menu with wine pairings, and for us, the evening was an extraordinary experience. In addition to the courses on the menu, there were always extra surprise courses. The selection was fantastically tailored to the current season. Besides the magnificent presentation of the dishes, they were perfectly balanced in flavor, yet also nuanced and exciting. The service was also on a whole new level; we felt incredibly comfortable from the very first moment and, quite rightly, completely relied on Chris's recommendation for the wine pairings. With her friendly and charming manner, she demonstrated a sensational feel for the overall concept and enormous expertise when it comes to wine. The evening was pure entertainment for all our senses. You can tell that genuine and honest feedback is essential for everyone on the Esskultur team. Absolutely fantastic, and a huge compliment for what you've created here!

Wow! That was an experience! And in our opinion, well worth the money!

We were here last night with our gourmet couple for fine dining. Not for the first time. It was wonderful. A small, fine location with great attention to detail. We were greeted by two very friendly, cheerful ladies who accompanied us throughout the evening and expertly explained each course. You could really see the ladies' enthusiasm for the beautifully prepared dishes. We didn't choose the wine pairing, but rather a wonderful wine from the Thörle winery in Rheinhessen. Everything was perfect...from the greetings from the kitchen to the dessert. Simply one flavor explosion after another! Dear Sascha Werhahn, keep up the good work...with so much creativity. THANK YOU for this wonderful evening!!!!

We received a friendly welcome and immediately felt very welcome. After realizing that the choice was between a 4- or 5-course menu, meaning there was no à la carte menu, we approached the waitress and explained that we were long-time vegetarians. No problem. Great. We were happy to be surprised. They recommended a suitable accompaniment to the courses instead of the wine we had chosen. Good advice. All the courses and the wine were simply excellent. The service was perfect. We'd be happy to come back.

A true culinary highlight in Hanover! EssKultur is a fantastic little restaurant with exceptional, delicious, and beautifully presented dishes. Every course was a delight – creative, perfectly balanced in flavor, and lovingly presented. I would especially like to highlight the wine selection, which paired wonderfully with each course. The service was attentive, friendly, and passionately explained each dish. The ambiance, with the tranquil background music, also contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable evening. I will definitely be back – an absolute recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food and a special atmosphere!

This was our third visit to Esskultur and we were once again very excited about the menu. We were very satisfied on our two previous visits. Unfortunately, this impression was not confirmed on this visit. While the individual courses were visually finely presented, the flavors lacked those special moments, that certain interplay of ingredients. The all-important sauces/stocks were uninspiring and monotonously drab. Even the highly praised lobster sauce for the Loup de Mer fell short of expectations. The filling of the Loup de Mer took up so much space that little of the fish remained. The pre-dessert and dessert with Jerusalem artichoke and parsnip were somewhat conciliatory. The wine pairing was quite harmonious. It was odd that the glasses were not swapped, and all the white wines ended up in the same glass one after the other. New glasses were only served for the red wine. Not really in keeping with the restaurant's reputation. A real shame, and hopefully just a snapshot in time.

To make the evening even more enjoyable: It's good if it's not so loud that you can still have a pleasant conversation – but the background music could be a bit louder, as the size of the room and the number of guests made it almost a bit too quiet at times. At the beginning, it was still a bit chilly in the dining room.

Highly recommended! The welcome was very warm, and we felt truly welcome. We had the 5-course menu with wine pairing. Excellent value for money! Great food, great service. One tiny criticism is the outdoor lighting, which is very bright and can be a bit dazzling if you're sitting facing outside.

We had a wonderful evening! As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed, our jackets were taken off and we were shown to a lovingly decorated table. We chose the 5-course menu and were also treated to several small, creative surprises from the kitchen. The ambience was pleasantly calm and stylish – perfect for escaping from everyday life and simply enjoying yourself. The food was a real highlight: every course was a taste explosion. The portions were just right for the number of courses - filling, but not too much. I was particularly impressed by the Paderborn Kikok, but the salmon with parsnips and radishes was also simply breathtaking. An all-round successful evening – I can only warmly recommend this experience!

It was a wonderful pleasure and a great experience

Unfortunately I wasn't quite as satisfied. Still a restaurant with potential. The food was ok, from very tasty (cod and fregola) to quite disappointing (e.g. the duck breast tasted very warmed up and chewy). Too many sweet desserts and components in the 5-course menu and the 3-course option unfortunately does not allow you to skip dessert and choose a different starter, for example. Well, that may be a matter of taste… The welcome and farewell was very warm and friendly. However, overall the service was quite inattentive, drinks were not refilled and it was sometimes not possible to ask for them because the staff were often absent or busy. Not even when the course was served was there any request for another drink. We asked to have the aperitif first before we started with the wine and food, but then it started too hectic whereas the end took a long time and not even water was given. The atmosphere was a bit irritating and treadmill-like. We had the five course meal, as did the other groups in our room, all served table to table at the same time. The wine list was too standard for fine dining. Unfortunately the prices are way too overpriced. Some wines are also incorrectly labeled. Instead of an ordered Dreissigacker Chardonnay, a cuvée (Chardonnay and Pinot Gris) was served. Maybe recommend choosing the wine accompaniment… as we thought we knew better, but not knowing that wines are misrepresented and selection is very limited. Glasses were also dusty. It took too long to catch a waiter and talk to him about it... All in all, there is still a lot that can be improved in and around the processes, which would certainly make the experience a great one.

Very creative, delicious menu. What the service lacked in professionalism was made up for in friendliness. The ambience is successful, only small things such as light color should be changed. The price for the menu and wine is reasonable, but the Purezza is overpriced at 8.50. We had a lovely evening and are excited to see how the food culture continues to develop.

Good service and excellent food. Solid ingredients are cleverly combined or even more composed. The only thing that wasn't optimal at first was the seating allocation, despite early reservations. However, it could be changed if desired.

There were five of us in the beautifully renovated store on the first day. 4 of us had the 5-course menu and were all thoroughly impressed, there was nothing to complain about. I have to particularly emphasize that the fifth person at the table has gluten and soy intolerance. Sascha sat down at the table with her and discussed what he could conjure up spontaneously, which was really great and friendly. Despite the stress and hectic pace on the first evening, always with a smile on our faces. The staff could be a bit more on the ball, our first wine came after 90 minutes, when we had the second course and asked when the wine accompaniment would come. Then it came and I personally felt that it came too quickly one after the other so that you couldn't really enjoy your glass. First evening, that will definitely come into play! When it comes to the ambience, we noticed that it was too bright and too loud compared to the previous restaurant. We sat upstairs and there was no comfort. However, at some point we dimmed the lights and it worked. As we walked, we told Sascha all the points and he reacted very professionally. A green wall has already been ordered for insulation and table lamps are already available, but there was no time left for them. So these issues will be resolved by next time and as long as Sascha keeps his smile, his friendliness and his passion for cooking, he will continue to succeed. We wish him a lot of luck 🍀

It's been a long time since I've eaten so well and experienced great service

We were in the restaurant for the first time and chose the 10 course menu. We are excited. The gears are perfectly coordinated. The ingredients are high quality and processed with a lot of love. The service is attentive and extremely friendly. Our dog was also treated like a guest. We'll definitely be back. 5 stars are still not enough for what is conjured up there!!!!!!

The ambience was great, the food was very tasty. Something different that you don't do every day. Drinks disappointing. Water is way too overpriced. Red wine only two types open to choose from. And too expensive for these varieties. Maybe a suggestion to have something to drink with the dishes. A Dornfelder on the map wouldn't be bad. It's a shame that something was only explained for the large ten-course menu, and there was no explanation for only three courses. Very unfortunate. Maybe explain it to the guest as a tip and ask if they would like the larger menu so that they can go on a culinary journey.

Gourmet class of a special kind and the star of Hanover. Because of the contribution from Kabel Eins, where Esskultur was the best restaurant, we went to the restaurant. The well-thought-out dishes that melt in your mouth are our highlight. If we eat out, it's here. The staff is super friendly and takes time for every single guest. They take requests and try to make the visit more enjoyable. The eye clearly eats here. We particularly liked that the owner fused some of the dishes. A feast for the palate and eyes for anyone who wants to deviate from the 0815 and be carried away into a world of taste that they are not yet familiar with. Super nice atmosphere, great music.. Simply great

One of those restaurants that you shouldn't go into hungry. That would be ok if the dishes were exciting and varied. In my case they weren't. The chewy starter roll with something-or-other foam, the crumbly amuse gueule, the beef in dashi stock, the chicken. Everything had the same, penetrating, far too dominant note, which one might politely describe as umami. To be on the safe side, I skipped dessert. The staff was extremely inattentive. I had a single table and chose the other, uncovered side of the table so that I could see out the window. I was then allowed to arrange the plentiful cutlery on my seat myself. Orders for drinks were only taken upon request. The employees mostly stayed in side rooms anyway. So short and sweet, unfortunately not a recommendation

We booked the 10 course menu on the occasion of my husband's birthday. It was our first time there and definitely not the last time. The quantity was simply mega. Everything was very well coordinated and everything was very nicely presented. The explanations from Sascha and his colleague were very exciting and we were immediately looking forward to the next course. Service was also very accommodating and really nice. Keep it up. First of all, many thanks to the team for our culinary experience in this service-oriented restaurant. We had fun! Our courses were good to very good, as were our drinks. Personally, I found the Einrichtubg to be so tasteful that I would have liked to change something ;-) But yes, it's a matter of taste, so of course no points are deducted for it. I was a bit annoyed by the water on offer. The menu read Viva from Agua loudly. We got the seltzer medium for more money, as if it were some super water. But it doesn't taste good and it's nothing special. Doesn't fit in with the rest at all. Especially not the price. It's rather silly. We were very happy with everything else - everything was understandable. Another point of criticism that is incomprehensible to me: The table lamps were all very dusty. Very strange. But the food was very good and everything overall was nice for us despite the criticisms! So thank you very much for the wonderful evening and especially the special meal that we came for. Happy to see you next time! For vegetarians we would like to point out that the corresponding dishes are very good and special!

We liked the restaurant, we felt comfortable, the atmosphere was appealing, but unfortunately the service was sometimes forgetful - as already mentioned in other reviews - especially towards the end of the evening. There was no wine service, we poured and refilled the wine ourselves. The main courses were small and none of us were really full despite the starter. The food was good, very nicely presented but not delicious. The food products are certainly high quality. Maybe our expectations were too high. It's certainly a matter of taste, but there were several of us and we all felt that way. Nevertheless, we'll come back, try the 10-course menu that's been so praised and report back.

The food is a dream, value for money is right. The quality of the goods and the preparation are top notch. Very delicately seasoned and well presented. The portions could be a little larger. The service is friendly and attentive, but it is part of the hotel and sometimes seems to be still in training. Not very well organized yet and becomes a bit inattentive as the evening progresses. That doesn't ruin the visit, but it does prevent the “perfect” evening, which is a shame. The ambience is simply tasteful and makes you feel comfortable. If the likeable boss (Sascha Werhahn) has time, he is happy to chat. We can fully recommend a visit and will definitely come back again.

The “EssKultur” restaurant is located in the “me and all hotel” hotel, centrally located on Aegidientorplatz, which belongs to the “jdV by Hyatt” hotel chain brand and is aimed at a “young at heart” audience. From the outside there is nothing to indicate a restaurant, which introduces itself on its official website as a fine dining restaurant with individual and high-quality cuisine that combines influences from different cultures. The menu should probably change monthly. The menu in March did not surprise with unusual flavor variations. The familiar flavors were particularly convincing due to the aesthetic and artistic presentation of the dishes. Everything was perfect in terms of craftsmanship and taste, but unfortunately the portions turned out to be very small, which spoiled the overall impression a little. In addition, the menu, which was deliberately kept simple, only offered very limited options for vegetarians and vegans. Dishes are not marked as such. A spontaneous dinner is therefore rather unsuitable for this target group. The prices for food seem very cheap at first, but the portions are really very small. I could actually have eaten three times as much of each course, which would end up being €30 plus per course. In addition to the standard soft drinks, the drinks menu from the hotel bar offers a small, nice selection of non-alcoholic alternatives such as mocktails, 3 long drinks, 2 non-alcoholic wines (white and rosé) and non-alcoholic beer. However, the prices for drinks are in the (very) high segment and seem slightly exaggerated. The service was unobtrusive but always present and responded friendly to questions about vegetarian and vegan options. The ambience in an urban industrial style with brick walls, lots of leather, wood and iron is modern and clean, although the tables seem a bit small. The chairs and benches are very comfortable and invite you to linger. All in all, EssKultur offers a positive gastronomic experience with well-crafted and aesthetically presented food. However, vegetarians and vegans should plan their visit in advance.

Rarely have I seen so much joy at work. Top service, Sascha mega chef, it was a great evening. Dishes were well conceived and with a lot of preparatory work planned and prepared great ingredients. It was a culinary delight in a very pleasant atmosphere. The service staff and the chef were very polite and pleasant and always cared about the well-being of their guests. I would eat there again at any time and, above all, enjoy the great food and the atmosphere. We recommend.

The atmosphere of the location was impressive and invited you to linger. The variety of dishes offered a wide selection for every taste and left nothing to be desired. From hearty dishes to delicate desserts – culinary diversity is very important here. However, the service clouded the overall picture. Although friendly, the staff seemed overwhelmed due to the understaffing. Unfortunately, long waiting times and occasionally forgotten orders were not uncommon. It was obvious that one person alone was not enough to run the operation smoothly. Overall, the location is definitely recommended due to its ambience and the quality of the food. However, it would be appreciated if management would review staff resources and ensure service meets the high standard of the rest of the experience.
