Everything was fine, but the fact that the front door is constantly open and all the cigarette smoke from outside drifts into the dining room is really bothersome. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't react to it at all. Otherwise, it's a nice restaurant. Prices are average, and there are dishes to suit all tastes.

If you’re looking for a place to eat well, drink cocktail - it’s one of the best place in Aachen. Multiple times I ate and drink there, and my mouth were closed, stomach full. Drinks are huge, sweet, refreshing and with absolutely right portion of alcohol inside. Fantastic, multilingual stuff. Love ya!

We were more than surprised by the food. We had a steak that was butter-tender. A grill plate on which everything was juicy and cooked to perfection. The fries were crispy. The wrap was delicious. The beer platter was a pleasant surprise. The drinks, a 0.6-liter size, the large Coke, were simply amazing. The ambiance was a bit dark, with modern music playing in the background. My conclusion: We haven't had such a delicious meal in Aachen for this price in a long time. The only drawback is that you have to tell them beforehand that you don't want ice in the whiskey. Oh, and the cocktails are great; there's something for everyone. We'll try the schnitzel and currywurst one of these days 😜

It's a restaurant with plenty of space, even for larger groups. There were 11 of us. The service was very friendly, courteous, and quick. The food was decent, and the value for money was excellent.

The food taste okay but the price isn't as affordable as before, the atmosphere is also nice and cozy and the service are decent. Nothing so special. This used to be a place for student but maybe everywhere the price has been inflated. They do have daily discount for certain dish though, I got 7.9€ paste on a Wednesday I think. But I would not recommend tomato soup, the bread is hard and the soup is way too sour, taste similar to soup out of a can.

After the recent price increase of almost 1.5 times, the quality of the food and service has deteriorated significantly. Sometimes you have to wait 10–15 minutes for staff, even after requesting someone to come. I'm very disappointed by this "development." Hopefully, the restaurant reassesses its priorities and returns to its previous level of service.

It was very, very tasty and also reasonably priced. The variety of options for combining the food was particularly great, and the homemade lemonades were delicious. The service was also cheerful and friendly. It was a very pleasant evening.

Price quality for food and drinks is fine! Tip for the restaurant is to clean the toilets better/more often, they are filthy! (Not a snapshot, I have been there more often, always the same. I hope the kitchen is cleaned better!)

Despite the price increase, lunch prices are still cheaper than the competition. Burgers with fries and mayo and ketchup are only 7.90. On Tuesdays, they also offer large cocktails for the price of small ones all day. Service was attentive and pointed out the discounts. All in all, a great place.

Great service. The waiter is alone at lunch, but it's top-notch. Gyros and tzatziki are inexpensive and just like the Greek restaurant around the corner—not cheap frozen pan gyros. The schnitzels are hand-breaded, and you can tell. Unbeatable for the lunch prices.

The food was good, but the waiter was terribly unprofessional. He tried to belittle my companion with strange comments. It was very unpleasant to be treated like that.

I liked the place, but the new waiter is a disaster. He doesn't understand questions, says yes, but in the end he says no. He ridicules customers for asking in advance, only for them to get a different answer. He just doesn't speak German and blames his incompetence on the customer. I mean, if you don't understand a word, I'm happy to say so in English, but pretending to understand, then incorrectly ordering, and then arguing with the customer until you understand that the waiter doesn't know the word "Kanne" is horrible. And then, in a rude comment, he said that you can't expect a pot of tea for 5 euros... so why are you telling me it comes in a pot? Why don't you tell me you don't know the word? I also asked about the price before ordering. First, one price is mentioned, but the bill shows a different one. When I asked if it was agreed upon, I was more or less told, "So what?" or tough luck. It's been truly horrible.

Very disappointing experience at essBar – Never again! I recently visited the essBar restaurant via the Neotaste app. Before we even sat down, I clearly stated that we were there via Neotaste. Nevertheless, we were later informed that we should have mentioned this twice – an absurd and completely incomprehensible justification for charging the regular price. To me, this behavior is nothing other than deliberate deception. As a guest, you don't feel welcome here, but rather exploited. Instead of acting transparently and fairly, essBar seems to be more concerned with making a profit at the expense of its customers – and in a very questionable way. I find this behavior extremely dubious and disappointing. I have rarely experienced such a customer-unfriendly attitude. The fact that you are charged the full price despite clear communication shows how little attention is paid to fairness and customer satisfaction here. I will definitely never visit essBar again and can only advise anyone not to go there—especially through Neotaste. Anyone who treats people like that and intentionally causes confusion shouldn't be surprised by the bad reviews. There are plenty of other restaurants that treat their guests honestly and respectfully.

The food was really good. Honestly I didn’t expect to have something tasty on this street at midnight but I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was nice, but it was very loud at night.

Die Bedienung war nett, auf den Stühlen mit Plastiküberzug hat man geschwitzt und das Essen war enttäuschen. Eben billig... Der Wrap vegetarisch schmeckte fade, da fehlte mindestens Salz. Die Pommes waren trocken. Die Pizza Gyros war zäh und kaum zu schneiden. Aber, was will man erwarten, wenn schon die Fußmatte im Eingang und alle Sitzbänke extrem abgenutzt sind? Für mich ist das Aussehen des Lokals immer ein Indikator für den hygienischen Zustand insgesamt, also auch für die Küche. Da habe ich lieber nicht weiter drüber nachtgedacht.

Last time, she also brought us the wrong food – instead of lamb ribs, they served salmon. We then had to wait forever for the right dish while we were hungry. ⸻ Very disappointing. New, increased prices since May 1st - unfortunately without anything in return! The food was always simple and OK, as it was cheap. Last week our gyros were unfortunately too salty. After a "hint" my wife was promised a new gyro bag => all that came was a hot rag with no contents! I do have a sense of humor - but it's limited!

I have lived 5 years in Aachen, and this is by far the best restaurant in the city. Especially the burgers, the different chicken dishes and the pasta. It's fantastic in price/quality, the service is excellent and the music is great.

The place is very inviting and the prices seem great. The gyro meat was also delicious, but the fries were not my thing at all. The seasoning on the fries had a very strong aftertaste. Mayo and ketchup were missing from my menu. The tzatziki tasted like it was bought. All in all, for the price you can eat there but it could be better!

There are some really tasty dishes. The prices are really good. The service is very friendly. During the week you can eat really cheaply until 5 p.m. Unfortunately, the benches are very worn out, but we would still like to come back.

I can't say anything about the food, I just drank. Cocktails were carelessly slammed onto the table in plastic cups with the statement “they are to go, you are not allowed to stay here” The cocktails are quite affordable but don't feel like they contain a drop of alcohol, the Long Island tastes like you're sucking on a sugar beet and the touchdown is basically a multi-juice with ice. For those on a budget yes, not recommended for a good evening…

Man gab ihr Trinkgeld und das wurf sie zurück auf den Tisch und meinte, das macht den Bock auch nicht mehr fett. Was ist das für ein Benehmen. Das Essen war ungewürzt. Ich hatte aufgewärmte Nudeln mit einem Gnocchi drin. Das geht gar nicht. Ich werde nicht mehr dorthin gehen sowie meine Kolleginnen auch nicht mehr.

The waitress is really rude. The one with highlights and glasses. My boyfriend had to leave early for a meeting. I tried to politely ask her to pack the burger my boyfriend order but before I could finish my sentence, she cut me off and said she can't and left. I should mention, as far as I could see she only behaved like this to me. I was the only coloured person in the restaurant. Don't go here if you aren't white. I don't think I deserved this type of service.

Unfortunately, our visit to the Essbar was anything but satisfactory. We actually really enjoy being there. After waiting for over an hour, our food finally arrived - but then the next disappointment: the meat wasn't cooked through. When we spoke to the staff about this, there was neither an apology nor an appropriate solution suggested. Instead, we were just offered a short on the house. Since we don't like drinking alcohol, this wasn't really any compensation for us. Overall, the visit was disappointing - long waiting times, poor quality food and little responsiveness from the service. We had hoped for much more and unfortunately we cannot recommend the Essbar.

I regularly come here for something to eat and drink, or just to have a drink. It is always cozy and neat here and the staff is always friendly. The food is always tasty and neatly presented. Definitely recommended to come here for an evening.

If you want to eat delicious and relaxed food, then come here. Oh no, the only thing that works here is delicious. On Sundays the atmosphere and the volume are like in a pub, sports bar or something similar. My companion had to shout to communicate, but I still couldn't hear them. The waitress didn't really care either. We asked if the level could be lowered a little, but asking a large group for silence was probably too much to ask. and unfortunately this wasn't an isolated case today. We have been rewarded, punished?? with the same action almost every Sunday! Probably not in the future.

So far it's been one of the best places to eat in Aachen, the prices compared to the food quality, portions, and services are really good. The staff are all friendly and helpful. You would expect to be paying more for what the place provides, but what makes it always an attractive choice is prices. Definitely recommend

I ate with my family at the edible restaurant. And I ordered a gyros pita, when I ate it the meat was so strange and it was raw. My mother and husband ordered two plates with hands and the meat was raw again. My mother had severe stomach pain afterwards. My husband is Muslim and doesn't eat pork. My husband gave it to me to taste if it was pork. And it tasted like pig meat even though we specifically said that my husband is Muslim. At the end where we paid for it and got the cash register bong, the note said pork meat. My mother told the waitress and her answer was "ok" just ok she said. I find it really sad that we were treated so badly there. And afterwards, when we were at home, my mother had severe stomach pain and had to constantly go to the toilet. I wouldn't recommend going there.

There were four of us in the restaurant and wanted to test it with the Schlemmerblock. Before ordering, we placed two gourmet blocks clearly visible on the table. However, when we paid we were informed that the voucher would not be accepted because we should have explicitly mentioned it at the beginning of the order. Unfortunately the staff didn't point this out to us even though the block was clearly visible. Instead, we were told that subsequent redemption was not possible - a rule that is incomprehensible to us as long-time Schlemmerblock users. This has always worked without any problems in other restaurants. The food was good, but the inflexible and unaccommodating treatment spoiled the overall impression. It's a shame that there seems to be little emphasis on dealing with guests here. Only conditionally recommended for Schlemmerblock users.

We were there with a larger group. The table was reserved and also free. The service was nice and friendly. A look at the menu suggested something bad, as the pricing cannot be reconciled with good quality. Unfortunately, I was right. The quality of the meat (grill plate for 17.90) was subpar. In my experience, such a dish cannot be produced seriously with the amount of different types of meat and of good quality. I advise everyone not to eat there. Good money is paid for bad food. It's better to spend a little more money and treat yourself to quality.

We waited 2 hours for our food, 2 hours. That's more than sick. What we ordered was okay. 2 schnitzels and 1 pork knuckle, the portions were large, which was very surprising. The knuckle wasn't particularly tasty. Staff friendly unfortunately overwhelmed. What wasn't great - it's extremely loud inside, you can't really have a conversation. Should we eat there again? Very unlikely the 2 hours we waited without anyone telling us why or how is not professional and definitely too long

2h waiting time!!! We reserved a table for 6 at 8 p.m. and received our food at 10:15 p.m. The store was full and after asking questions after waiting for an hour, we were repeatedly put off. We had a voucher for 2 main courses for the price of one, but we couldn't/weren't allowed to redeem it because the boss didn't agree that we didn't let us know BEFORE ordering but only after ordering.. For me it's incomprehensible and outrageous. (then you don't need to issue vouchers)

A very nice restaurant in the middle of the pedestrian zone. We were there on Sunday afternoon. It was relatively empty. A nice atmosphere somewhere between a sports bar / industrial look. I liked it. The service was very quick and super nice. We had 5 different meals and everyone was satisfied. There's nothing to beat in terms of price queued. I would love to come back on my next trip to Aachen.

We were inside.. and saw a huge mouse inside. We informed the staff but they were aware of it. We Will not come back. The plate and cutlery were also dirty. The food was not good at all.

The two of us each wanted to order a schnitzel for lunch. However, we were then forced to order a drink because we had a voucher. After not too long we were given drinks and salad. The salad was not edible. The dressing was very sweet and vinegary, the salad itself wasn't really fresh and the hard stalk of the salad wasn't exactly appetizing, brown spots in the salad and dry cucumbers weren't great either. The schnitzel was solid and luckily managed to somehow remove the aftertaste from the dressing. The experience was rounded off by a card payment limit of €20.

So far I have only ever ordered schnitzel with champion cream sauce and have always been satisfied. It was very tasty, the service was good and the restaurant was always very clean and well maintained. Everything is great in terms of price too. Always my pleasure.

Here meat items are available for very cheap price, but tastes delicious. The serving quantity is also very decent. It serves alcohol also at reasonable price. Overall, it is a good and pocket friendly option.

The restaurant has set many implicit rules of its discounts. As a customer, you certainly don't expect to suffer losses because you haven't learned the rules of a restaurant. One suggestion would be that this professional restaurant should be treated seriously like the derivatives of the capital market. Of course, it's not because the cashier is dishonest, but because the customer hasn't learned the restaurant's rules diligently and doesn't have enough perseverance in a debate. Apparently I lost a debate in my free time over the weekend. A “debate club” should not be called “Edible.”
