The service was very friendly and quick. The taste of the dishes we ordered was OK, but nothing more. Unfortunately the portions were very poor for the money. A handful of fries and the same amount of gyros... We left the shop not full and probably won't go there again.

I ate with my family at the edible restaurant. And I ordered a gyros pita, when I ate it the meat was so strange and it was raw. My mother and husband ordered two plates with hands and the meat was raw again. My mother had severe stomach pain afterwards. My husband is Muslim and doesn't eat pork. My husband gave it to me to taste if it was pork. And it tasted like pig meat even though we specifically said that my husband is Muslim. At the end where we paid for it and got the cash register bong, the note said pork meat. My mother told the waitress and her answer was "ok" just ok she said. I find it really sad that we were treated so badly there. And afterwards, when we were at home, my mother had severe stomach pain and had to constantly go to the toilet. I wouldn't recommend going there.

There were four of us in the restaurant and wanted to test it with the Schlemmerblock. Before ordering, we placed two gourmet blocks clearly visible on the table. However, when we paid we were informed that the voucher would not be accepted because we should have explicitly mentioned it at the beginning of the order. Unfortunately the staff didn't point this out to us even though the block was clearly visible. Instead, we were told that subsequent redemption was not possible - a rule that is incomprehensible to us as long-time Schlemmerblock users. This has always worked without any problems in other restaurants. The food was good, but the inflexible and unaccommodating treatment spoiled the overall impression. It's a shame that there seems to be little emphasis on dealing with guests here. Only conditionally recommended for Schlemmerblock users.

We were there with a larger group. The table was reserved and also free. The service was nice and friendly. A look at the menu suggested something bad, as the pricing cannot be reconciled with good quality. Unfortunately, I was right. The quality of the meat (grill plate for 17.90) was subpar. In my experience, such a dish cannot be produced seriously with the amount of different types of meat and of good quality. I advise everyone not to eat there. Good money is paid for bad food. It's better to spend a little more money and treat yourself to quality.

We waited 2 hours for our food, 2 hours. That's more than sick. What we ordered was okay. 2 schnitzels and 1 pork knuckle, the portions were large, which was very surprising. The knuckle wasn't particularly tasty. Staff friendly unfortunately overwhelmed. What wasn't great - it's extremely loud inside, you can't really have a conversation. Should we eat there again? Very unlikely the 2 hours we waited without anyone telling us why or how is not professional and definitely too long

2h waiting time!!! We reserved a table for 6 at 8 p.m. and received our food at 10:15 p.m. The store was full and after asking questions after waiting for an hour, we were repeatedly put off. If we had known this earlier, we would have left sooner. The food is average and definitely not worth 2 hours. The first and last visit for us

The food was delicious, but the staff wasn't all that friendly. We had a voucher for 2 main courses for the price of one, but we couldn't/weren't allowed to redeem it because the boss didn't agree that we didn't let us know BEFORE ordering but only after ordering.. For me it's incomprehensible and outrageous. (then you don't need to issue vouchers)

A very nice restaurant in the middle of the pedestrian zone. We were there on Sunday afternoon. It was relatively empty. A nice atmosphere somewhere between a sports bar / industrial look. I liked it. The service was very quick and super nice. We had 5 different meals and everyone was satisfied. There's nothing to beat in terms of price queued. I would love to come back on my next trip to Aachen.

We were inside.. and saw a huge mouse inside. We informed the staff but they were aware of it. We Will not come back. The plate and cutlery were also dirty. The food was not good at all.

The two of us each wanted to order a schnitzel for lunch. However, we were then forced to order a drink because we had a voucher. After not too long we were given drinks and salad. The salad was not edible. The dressing was very sweet and vinegary, the salad itself wasn't really fresh and the hard stalk of the salad wasn't exactly appetizing, brown spots in the salad and dry cucumbers weren't great either. The schnitzel was solid and luckily managed to somehow remove the aftertaste from the dressing. The experience was rounded off by a card payment limit of €20.

So far I have only ever ordered schnitzel with champion cream sauce and have always been satisfied. It was very tasty, the service was good and the restaurant was always very clean and well maintained. Everything is great in terms of price too. Always my pleasure.

Here meat items are available for very cheap price, but tastes delicious. The serving quantity is also very decent. It serves alcohol also at reasonable price. Overall, it is a good and pocket friendly option.

The restaurant has set many implicit rules of its discounts. As a customer, you certainly don't expect to suffer losses because you haven't learned the rules of a restaurant. One suggestion would be that this professional restaurant should be treated seriously like the derivatives of the capital market. Of course, it's not because the cashier is dishonest, but because the customer hasn't learned the restaurant's rules diligently and doesn't have enough perseverance in a debate. Apparently I lost a debate in my free time over the weekend. A “debate club” should not be called “Edible.”

Super tasty food and everything was perfect in terms of service. For 2 large drinks, with a starter, 2 main courses and a side salad, we paid just over 30 euros, which I think is fair these days, as long as the taste is good and you are really full. We will definitely come back.

Here you can eat well and cheaply. On different days there are discount promotions for different types of food (pizza/gyros/schnitzel etc) But even without these discount promotions, the food is cheap. The waitresses have all been very friendly so far. Unfortunately, it took a while sometimes.

Il s'agit ici d'un de mes endroits préférés à Aix-la-Chapelle. On peut y manger très correctement à petit prix, et le Che Guevara est le meilleur cocktail de la ville (en tout cas, c'est le cocktail préféré de mes amis et moi). La terrasse extérieure est très agréable. Le personnel est souriant et accueillant. N'hésitez pas à y aller pour un excellent rapport qualité/prix.

Es gab nur wenige vegane Optionen, die aber alle nicht verfügbar waren. Der vegetarische burger sollte vegan serviert werden. Allerdings wurde der Burger mit nicht-veganer Remoulade gebracht. Der Kellner meinte dazu nur "vegan sei halt schwierig". Die Getränke musste ich mehrfach bestellen, da die Bestellung mehrfach vergessen wurde, meine Freunde waren ebenfalls mit der Qualität ihres Essens unzufrieden und das Anbiete war laut und voller betrunkener Menschen.

There were five of us there. It was very loud and many other guests were drinking too much, so it was a really unpleasant atmosphere. The few vegan dishes on the menu were not available, so the waiter offered to make a vegan burger extra. But the burger served wasn't vegan - the waiter just replied unkindly: "vegan is just difficult". My friends were also unhappy with the quality of the meat. We had to remind us several times about our drinks until they were served incompletely after a long time.

The dishes marked as vegan on the menu were all unavailable. If requested, the vegetarian burger should be available as a vegan option. This was then served with non-vegan tartar sauce. The waiter just commented that I shouldn't act like that. edit: Attention! This local deletes negative reviews!

It's a shame for the animal that had to die for this food. Disgraceful. From the Norma freezer with sauce from the tube, into the microwave. Yes, is it still okay? I can only recommend massively thinning out the map. Please only serve what the kitchen can actually prepare.

We went on a friend's recommendation and did not regret it at all! Relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, delicious pitogiras and a wide variety of cocktails! All at great prices for the quality and quantity! It will definitely be our place to stay!

That was nothing. 45 minutes left until the next appointment. So eat a pita gyros quickly. Nothing came of it. Waited ten minutes and then ran after the waitress. The restaurant was poorly attended and still no Pita Gyros after 20 minutes. Now over 30 minutes had passed and I had to go to my next appointment without pita gyros. Addendum: Today it worked. The gyro was very tasty, well seasoned and toasted. The consistency was perfect. There was definitely not enough tzatziki. Double the amount would be appropriate. There were no cucumbers in it either. And there weren't enough onions on the gyro. The price-performance is satisfactory. The service is a bit slow and less friendly. Card payment only possible from €20.

The restaurant is OK. The waiter was friendly. Visually the food looked quite nice. The taste was okay - it was "quick cuisine" for me, but it tasted good. The ambience is okay, although some seats were torn off. There is a lot of space in the restaurant. You can eat inside and outside. However, there were no umbrellas outside.

A very nice young restaurant. The service is very nice and very attentive. The food is super tasty, we all ate something different and everyone found something. It's really tasty and cheap at the same time. The homemade lemonade is great and, above all, nothing artificial. The cocktails are bigger than expected and delicious, as are the long drinks. There is music with lighting effects similar to a club. I can only recommend the essBar if you want a nice evening with delicious food and cocktails.

The food was prepared quickly and nicely presented, but it didn't convince me: the spaghetti was too thin and the bolognese had no tomatoes. The waiter was unresponsive to ask for parmesan. It was too cold for me in the restaurant because the service didn't close the door and the music was annoying.

Super great shop, we were there yesterday. Huge selection of food (each of us had something different and everything was tasty) the home-made lemonades are highly recommended (no syrupy liquid that you would otherwise get) the cocktails and long drinks were simply bigger than expected, and the crowning glory was the super friendly and attentive staff that work there. Unfortunately we had to wait an extremely long time for our food (well over an hour) but it was worth the wait! It was super delicious!

Delicious food for a good price plus friendly service.

Since the new chef arrived, the food tastes much better. Our favorites are the Greek Club Sandwich and the Bifteki filled with feta. The Essbar is also our first port of call because it has the best Freddo Cappuccino in Aachen. Especially in summer you can sit outside and enjoy it. When it comes to service you have to be lucky, depending on who is there, everything runs like clockwork and you receive very friendly service.

The portions of the food could be a little larger, but Sven is a super friendly waiter and I love him, so it's a solid experience. The owner is also super nice and recognizes you straight away, I also celebrated my birthday here last year, and for me and my friends it was one of the best evenings in Aachen (of course it depends on the friends, mine are great <3 ) and we could all agree on that. Is highly recommended! :DD I mainly come here for the cocktails, in my opinion they are in the top 3 in Aachen, you won't be disappointed!

Nice place for cocktails and different meals, the employees are friendly. Prices are medium, the interior of the place is very nice and clean. The small party style continues with nightly music on weekends.

Great place, in the city center. Atmosphere and ambient are good. Service is kind and fast, efficient and helpful staff that speak great English. Every day you can eat here for 50% cheaper prices if you come until 17h. They have great prices. We ate giros ans big beer for 10e. Really recommend this place.

There were several people there and we all had a “steak” with fries/potatoes. No idea what that was. The cooking point (I had ordered medium) was completely missed (done) and the fries were far too short in the deep fryer. All in all: definitely not

Ok, no problem, nice that we were informed. After an hour the lady came back, are you okay? Well, we actually wanted to eat something! Oh, I'll check with the kitchen. 10 minutes later. Sorry, we previously had a large order with 30 people who also ordered a lot of gyros. Another 20 minutes later my dinner was on the table. The service was always friendly, but we would have liked more attention.

Today I went to eat at Essbar again with my daughter after a long time. The waiter was in a very good mood and extremely friendly...as long as he showed up...our glasses were long empty, we were still thirsty, but no one came. At some point we got tired of it and wanted to pay. No one came for this either, and there was no one to be seen, as all the service staff were in the front, separated area and were having fun and chatting loudly. They can do that! BUT: You should keep an eye on the guests. I had to get someone at some point so I could pay. The food was delicious, but it was tastier (the same dish) and also significantly more in quantity. The salad dressing was very runny and not enough. What bothered me the most was that it was really dirty. As soon as we entered the restaurant, there were 6 tables with dishes still on them, even though the guests were no longer sitting there. I have to say, it really wasn't crowded, there were only a few tables occupied, so there wasn't really much to do there. However, the dishes were still there (at least on 3 of 6 tables) when we left the dining bar almost an hour later. By the way, the three tables that were cleared were not washed. I actually paid attention to that because our table was also very greasy. There was a used napkin on the table right next to us and some cucumber slices in salad dressing on the floor under that table. There were crumbs on most of the tables. In any case, we found it absolutely unappetizing. Because there was so little going on, the staff had enough time to clean up, clear away the dishes and trash, wash the tables and pick up leftover food from the floor. By the way, you could see them very clearly when you walked past the table. So it wasn't that. The cleanliness there was definitely different...worlds better and we urgently need to work on it again because we actually like eating there and have always felt comfortable. Today we were happy to be able to leave. What a shame for what was once a very clean restaurant! Incidentally, my Fanta hardly had any carbon dioxide left, but the thirst washed it down, which is why I didn't complain about it... but you're not normally allowed to serve something like that anymore. All in all, the food was tasty and the price was right. However, the restaurant is a bit old, both in terms of the ambience (walls, decoration, etc.) as well as the glasses and cutlery. It could do with a coat of paint and a few new purchases. But first and foremost, we should work on cleanliness and the presence of the service staff. If that's true, I don't care if the walls don't look as nice anymore, if the cutlery is already worn out and if the glasses show clear signs of being washed in the dishwasher. I will definitely come back again, but in the distant future and I hope that I will be pleasantly surprised again :-).

Beste Gyros Calzone! Ich finde die sogar so gut, dass ich unteranderem deswegen von Düren (38km) zur Aachener essBar komme. Den Impanema von da trinke ich auch regelmäßig. Gehe schon ein paar Jahre hin und war nie unzufrieden! Der langjährige Kellner ist auch super freundlich. Einzige Kritik die mir einfällt wäre, dass die scharfen Messer mal ersetzt werden sollten. Aber da man nicht mehr als Ausgezeichnet geben kann, verrechnen wir das ;-) Probiert es aus, es löhnt sich. Den es ist nicht nur essbar, sondern auch sehr Genießbar

I was amazed when a friend told me that you could eat Schweinshaxe here. The price is really good for the amount of food. The meat was not dry and it was juicy and more than enough.

Has great burgers and is open to very late.
