Esra in Berlin

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I ate falafel at Esra's in Berlin today – and I have to say: simply amazing! 🌟 The food was fresh, aromatic, and perfectly prepared. You can immediately tell that they work with love and fresh ingredients. The hospitality was also top-notch – warm, attentive, and you immediately feel welcome. For anyone who wants to try really good falafel with a touch of American flair in Berlin, Esra is definitely a clear recommendation. 👉 Go and see for yourself – it's worth it!

I had a schwarama and a mate tea for 10 euros; the shop rent is probably a bit higher here. So, it's more than twice as expensive as in Oberschöne Weide. If you're not careful, the schwarama will be prepared very cheaply, with the constant request to sit down. In the end, you end up having to get up and get your own food. So, as I said, in Oberschöneweide, you can get a decent schwarama with a decent amount of ingredients for 4.50 euros, including a drink. Here, you pay double for half the amount. Despite the spartan preparation, it tasted pretty good.

A very tasty meal in a friendly atmosphere, I felt very welcome!

Unfortunately, we were disappointed on our second visit. My husband and I ordered a shawarma and falafel plate and a halloumi salad to take away. Although the food was prepared quickly, we only discovered at home that instead of shawarma and falafel, we had received a different dish with couscous and salad. Since it was already late, we were unable to contact the restaurant. I am writing this review in the hope that you will be aware of such mix-ups. The incident occurred on September 5, 2025, and we paid €19 for the order.

While the food was okay, the service was very disappointing: we had to queue twice and waited a long time to pay and get our food. Overall, unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience.

Esra Falafel is conveniently located within walking distance of Alexanderplatz and is a good spot for a quick meal. We ate outside; the setting is simple, not particularly atmospheric, but perfect for a quick bite. The falafel itself was fresh, well-seasoned, and deliciously crispy, with plenty of salad and sauces. It's not a culinary surprise, but it does offer solid, tasty food at a reasonable price. Ideal if you're in the area and looking for something easy.

Very friendly staff. The food looks great. We even got to use the restroom for free.

Moussa and Ahmad are very friendly, and the food is made with love, fresh every day, homemade, and generous portions for the price. We recommend the halloumi falafel in bread❤️

Ordered at 11.40 via Lieferando, delivered at 1.25 p.m. For "estimated delivery time 25 minutes" that's pretty late. Food was ok, not great

I have never waited so long for a hummus plate in any restaurant in Berlin. It took 20 minutes even though there wasn't much going on. The plate was prepared in bullet time and consisted of two tablespoons of hummus for 5.50. it was so little that I was finished after 30 seconds. Being ripped off at home cooking feels degrading. The hummus itself was...well...if you ask me, it's a tourist trap.

We stumbled across this restaurant on a quick visit to this area. We arrived a little early for the normal lunchtime, about 11am, and we were the only ones there. We studied the menu but couldn't read it or speak the language so we asked the kind man behind the counter to surprise us. I wish I knew his name. He sure did surprise us! He cooked us a huge variety of fresh, delicious foods! Everything was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. It was one of the very best meals we ate on our whole vacation! I saved the receipt so I could look it up and write this review. It was THAT GOOD! When we were done, we thanked the man several times and asked where he was from. He told us he was from Beirut and the food was Saudi Arabian cuisine. We were delighted to have such a fantastic meal and the man made us feel very special.

Best falafel in Berlin. I'm there every week. The worker with the green eyes who is always there on Monday evenings is always very friendly and remembers how you like your falafel. Makes the best falafel for me.

Such a pity ... they used to be the one of the finest in Berlin. now they changed their interior fitting "Mitte vibe" and writing down "vegan& veggie" but the quality got so much worse. Putting pommes inside of shawarma to make it bigger but barely no veggies anymore and the price got much higher .... so sad they took this way that the quality has gone bad and price got higher..

We wanted döner or shawarma, but also something else. Esra seemed like a good fit: we got shawarma, a köfte bread and a falafel plate. All were very good and moderately priced, everybody was very happy afterwards.

Had a great evening meal here recently while on a visit to Berlin. Delicious food served promptly and with a smile. Friendly staff helped us with food selection as we are not German speakers. Recommend.

Yesterday we had an unpleasant encounter with strange men who followed us. We then went to Esra to escape and the staff immediately offered us tea and recommended food. The food was very tasty and the staff were really very friendly. We felt safe. We recommend.

No one is disgusted in every sense of the word. Shawarma is impossible to eat. May God not provide you with anything other than the prices. Two plates of shawarma are 48. Why, by God, if you eat, I will talk. By God Almighty, you will not eat. May God not forgive him.

Particularly noteworthy is the large selection of sauces that go perfectly with the various dishes. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality of the food. Order and payment process: Payment in advance: Payment is made in advance at the counter. Cash and card payments are possible. Self-service: The food is served at the counter after ordering and is not served at the table. Waiting time: The waiting time may be slightly longer if there is a high volume of orders. Conclusion: The Esra Imbiss is an insider tip for everyone who wants to enjoy delicious and inexpensive oriental food. The friendly staff, fresh ingredients and delicious food make every visit an experience. Despite the self-service and the waiting time, the Esra Imbiss is highly recommended due to the delicious food and the friendly atmosphere.

Edit 2024: renovated venue with many more seats. The quality has remained, but unfortunately they have increased the prices and reduced the portions. Sin!! Super! I tried the falafel dish, abundant and tasty food also served with typical bread. I also tried the falafel piadina, recommended!! Edit: I went back many more times, it has become my go-to Falafel. The best found here in Berlin!

Makali kufte menu was very delicious and had plenty of variety. The lighting is a little dim, but the atmosphere can be said to be good. A place to visit again.

Get a good quality shawarma sandwich for €6! There could have been a little more meat and I couldn't taste the hummus, but the salad was fresh and the pickled cucumbers were great! I think the price and quality are fair, especially because the usual fast food chains there on Alex charge significantly more money than usual, so it's better to walk one minute more to Esra!
