Escobar in Aschaffenburg

Unfortunately, the food was only okay. Guacamole, we were told, came from a bucket. A shame, considering Mexican cuisine is actually so delicious and fresh. Nice atmosphere, but maybe it's better to go for cocktail hour rather than for dinner.

At Escobar, you can enjoy fresh Tex-Mex dishes in Aschaffenburg's cozy old town. The service is very friendly and attentive (umbrellas are still open even in the strong evening sun ;-)), and you feel welcome as a guest.

Everything just fits here. Great service. Delicious food. And a great atmosphere. What more could you want?

Unfortunately, drinks were often forgotten, and we had to wait an hour and a half for the appetizer alone, even though the restaurant wasn't even completely full. My recommendation: if the kitchen can't serve that many guests, perhaps they should set up fewer tables in the restaurant. The food was otherwise good. But it was also very loud, making it impossible to have a conversation.

Reservierung hat nicht geklappt – sie hatten nichts im System - kann ja mal passieren. Wir mussten aber lange warten, wurden an der Bar abgefertigt, und bekamen keine Getränkekarte. Das leere Getränk und der unaufmerksame Service ließen uns unerwünscht fühlen. Service sollte ehrlich sein – ein Fehler, der mit einer Entschuldigung oder sogar einem Gutschein hätte ausgeglichen werden können. Schade.

Reviews like these are apparently reported to Google by the operator - they then disappear, sometimes temporarily or completely. I have also expressed constructive criticism in the restaurant itself - unfortunately without any lasting response. It's a shame when honest feedback is treated like this. Reservation didn't work out - they didn't have anything in the system - well, that can happen. But we had to wait a long time, were checked into the bar and didn't get a drink menu. The empty drink and inattentive service made us feel unwanted. Service should be honest - a mistake that could have been made up for with an apology or even a voucher. Too bad.

We were there for the first time on a Saturday and it was absolutely delicious. Price/performance is top 👍🏼 The service always has a relaxed approach and you can tell we do it with passion. We would be happy to go there again.

We were there for the first time today. I really don't get excited easily, but I was extremely impressed with this meal. Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection, and very seasoned without being unpleasantly spicy. The side rice was without exaggeration the best rice I have ever eaten!!! The service was very friendly and clearly enjoyed their work! All around a great experience. Dear Escobar team, keep it up!!

The service was completely overwhelmed and the food was not good. Ordered tap water and got plain water for €3 without any indication that it wasn't tap water. The potato, which was ordered as a side dish instead of the rice, was charged as a complete dish for €11. So we paid too much, bad service. The criticism of the food was not really taken seriously and was commented with a short “shame”. The service was inattentive and often passed by without looking at us. I would definitely have ordered a little more, but it didn't seem to be in their interest. The restaurant is really not recommended, Aschaffenburg has much better restaurants that are more attractive for the price. The €11 wine, 0.25l, was subpar. The waitress wasn't even remotely familiar with the wines on offer.

After a shopping trip we were spontaneously looking for a nice restaurant to grab a bite to eat. We came across this restaurant and decided to try out the Mexican cuisine. What can I say... We weren't disappointed, on the contrary, we are still thrilled. The portions are more than generous, the chicken pieces as a starter were enough as a main course and the baked dishes with fries were also very tasty. The service was super friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere inside and outside was also very nice. The restaurant is highly recommended and we would be happy to come back.

This was our first time eating here and we really enjoyed it! Great atmosphere, very friendly service and quick service when we visited during the week. The food tasted very good and the prices were okay too. We had burritos on “Burrito Tuesday” for €14.90 per plate. The homemade lemonade is also highly recommended. We'll be back!

Unfortunately, the reservation went wrong... we assumed that we had accepted too many reservations. Nevertheless, the handling was quite disorganized, so that after a wait, two guests were seated at a free table for 4 people and unfortunately the three of us were supposed to sit next to each other at the window seat... which we refused... very unfortunate

Nice snack bar in Latin style. Every now and then a DJ plays. The food is delicious. Homemade dips. The owner is very nice and also takes care of his guests. The service girls are attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back.

We went to Escobar for the first time today and were really excited. From the food to the service, an excellent job. The chef definitely knows something about his craft and Silke, who sweetened our evening with her excellent service, is really worth her weight in gold. Wir wollten am späten Nachmittag etwas Essen und Trinken,haben uns wie üblich artig im Eingangsbereich hingestellt und gewartet. .Der anwesende Chef war am telefonieren und anschließend unterhielt er sich mit zwei Gästen über vorhandene Biersorten.Der Gastraum war ansonsten sehr übersichtlich leer an Gästen.Da wir weiterhin nicht wahrgenommen wurden sind wir schließlich in eine andere Bar, nur einige Meter weiter gegangen.Dort wurden wir freundlich begrüßt und wir haben einen dreistelligen Umsatz getätigt. Sicher nur eine Momentaufnahme,aber darum geht es ja hier

We were there around 6:00 p.m. and were lucky with the weather. Seats were available outside so we could eat delicious food. The staff is very friendly and doesn't rush anyone. Gladly again :)

If you're looking for a Mexican atmosphere, you've come to the right place. The staff is super accommodating and friendly, had a few nice conversations. The portions are large and really tasty! I can recommend the homemade lemon-ginger lemonade. :)

We were there for dinner unplanned during the city festival. Despite the crowds due to the festival, the waitresses were very friendly and the waiting time was okay. We were looking for a restaurant that also offered vegan alternatives and were happy that there was a vegan option in every category. We had a vegetarian burrito and vegan chimichanga. Despite the large number of people, a special request was also accommodated without any problems. The food was typical of a Mexican restaurant in Germany and we enjoyed it very much. It's difficult for us to rate the atmosphere because of the festival because there were a lot of people in the store at some point.

Very tasty food, I had baked potatoes with grilled vegetables and sheep's cheese. Price performance is right here, there was even a small salad included. The blueberry lemonade was also delicious! The conditions were very nice.

Totally cute bar with a great ambience, very friendly service and incredibly delicious food! 😻 Ate a vegan burrito (with vegan cheese!) and vegan chimichanga with a friend. There was also fried and seasoned vegetable rice, chips and lots of jalapeños! The vegan brownie was freshly baked and simply bomb! We'll definitely come again! 👏

What a beautiful experience. I've been waiting to have a "long island" with a magic touch... Damn, I loved the way it was served ... Not only me, but others who was present there and requested other types of cocktails, they were impressed with the mixology expertise.( Barman). As a specialist in f&b - I had to be very specific of what I ordered and I was impressed. Prior to the date that we happened to stop at Escobar we was in another restaurant and the "long island" was terrible.... I meant it was lack of ingredients and too sweet. But ... Compare to the one here in this bar, I had to order the second one... The garnish of mint and half lime really gave the taste that requires..#👌👌👌 I would say that they have a very good team and we admire the attention and actknowledgement recieved from them. I was happy to see how the manager executed it's team... Happy that at least the manager speak fluent English.... Wasn't sure about the others but they gave us the magnificent body language and positive expression, good customer service and very professional. I saw no sign of "racism" as they have mentioned above. The team seem very friendly and hard working. "Way you go , guys"... You are the best... We might be back before I leave ... I don't know their names as I didn't saw their name badge... otherwise I would mention in prior to compliment. I was also impressed with their menu design. Fantastic. Thank you guys. The ambience is as ever, nothing has changed. We were regulars before the change of ownership and are a bit disappointed. No comparison to before... the staff alone was priceless... such great girls who worked there... we think the food is ok, but no comparison to before... all in all, we don't come back that often anymore ...sorry...

Chaotische Bedienung, schauen lieber Fußball. Das Essen, boritos war alles andere als handwerklich gut gemacht. Wollte statt Reis eine folienkartoffel. Musste letztendlich 2 Menüs bezahlen. Und die kartoffel war angebrannt, das borito war durchgeweicht und matschig. 20.50 für dieses Teil. Habe meine Beschwerde an die Bedienung weitergegeben. Antwort war schade. Weißwein 11.50 0,2 l. Viel zu warm. Und letztendlich hat die Rechnung 10,00 , die ich nicht nachvollziehen konnte mehr. Wollte ein Glas Leitungswasser, 3,00 EU. Also ein Glas Wein, ein Burger, ein weizenbier, borito und Wasser 68.00 EU. Nie mehr.

New owner since April. 0 gastronomy experience - extreme overload behind the counter and in service is unfortunately not to be overlooked. Waited over 25 minutes for two drinks. A pity…

Danger! New operator, since April. It was simply a catastrophe; it no longer had anything to do with Escobar as we knew her. We ordered 1 bottle of Prosecco, which was brought to the table by a waiter who had zero gastro experience. He put a sealed bottle in front of us and left. Open and pour, not in the Escobar, where the customer is on his own. We ordered the nachos gratinated with chili con carne, you can't go wrong with that. But! The nachos were of poor quality for the dish. They were over-seasoned and you could smell the glutamate from afar. In terms of taste, a 0 out of 10. Of course, if the chef is actually the same as the waitress claims, he can only cook with the ingredients that were bought. You shouldn't save money here if customers are used to a different quality. Unfortunately, it cannot be overlooked that Escobar no longer has anything to do with real gastronomy. It's a shame, we won't go there again because nothing is right from the service to the food.

We had dinner there. After dinner we saw a beetle from the plat. We asked them that we found insects on the plates. They just apologized and did nothing about it. The lady there just said we're going to clear this table.

Delicious Mexican cuisine Starter was enough for 2. You could take home what you didn't pack... At 8:30 p.m. we just spontaneously got 2 seats, it's best to reserve... or get lucky 😉 Toilets OK Shop is small but clocky.

Nice and cozy restaurant bar. The ambience is good and the service is really nice and friendly. Marzena was specially very attentive. The food tastes good and the portions are huge along with the side snacks that comes with the main dish. All of us had ordered different burgers and everything was really yummy. Specially the crunchy chicken burger was the best. The biers were nice and they do offer cocktails at a price of 5€ each after 20:00. Overall experience was awesome and we are coming back again.
