Nice service and good value for money. Cozy atmosphere!

Had dinner here last night with friends and it was amazing. The food and drinks (cocktails) tasted really good and the waiter was very nice as well. Would 100% recommend going here and I will be going back if I’m in Munich again!

I was here for the first time for a bachelor party. We drank delicious jumbo cocktails that were huge. I barely tasted any alcohol in the cocktail itself, so I deducted 1 point. The food was normally tasty, you can eat well :) the waiter was extremely funny and friendly 🥳

Standard Mexican selection, volume is increased by tortilla chips. Hot sauce was disappointing. Nice atmosphere and nice service.

Great evening in the Esco Bar. Food tasted excellent. Large portions and very good. The cocktails are very good and reasonably priced during happy hour until 9pm. Thanks to Diego, who was very friendly to us and provided great service. Diego understands what service means. Really great and we will happily come back. An evening like this is fun.

Some mexican dishes are served as something else. We didn't feel it was mexican. I was with a friend from Honduras and she felt the same. Sometimes they give free tequila. The place is full and we saw only one person attending which meant, she took her time. I don't like to be near smokers but there is where we ended given the lack of tables in the non -smoking area.

We really enjoy going here to eat. We prefer to eat the mixed platter. It's available for 2 people and is really tasty! The cocktail selection is huge. There is something for everyone and the cocktails taste very good too.

I had low expectations for latin american cuisine in germany. unfortunately, this restaurant failed to meet even these. it was worse than any latin or south american restaurant I have ever experienced in the United States. nachos were burned chips and very little cheese. carne asade is chunks of meat mixed with kidney beans. avocado which is central to all dishes was old and flavorless.

Dear Escobar team, First of all, the service is top and super nice. The food is a bit expensive, but still very tasty. The price of the drinks is incredibly reasonable and is great for young people as they can afford these drinks. The price-performance ratio is very good and I can recommend every young person to visit Escobar.

Not great service, and food below average

Fun name, and cool interior but that is the highlight. We went to dinner last night and we're the only 2 inside with maybe 4 tables outside. The chips were old and stale and sauces average. We ordered dinner off the daily men and took 45 minutes and it was not busy. The food was average and bill was 47 Euros. Will not return...poor experience and El Pequeno is a much better option in Haidhausen

My partner has a birch pollen allergy, and eating any amount of carrots (even in a broth or seasoning) will cause open mouth sores and cramping, among other reactions. We asked for the entire meal to be carrot free because of allergies—especially her dish. The side salad on my plate had a full serving of carrots. My partner's had multiple small carrot pieces from where the kitchen saw the instruction and decided to pick off the larger pieces. The server did not get the news that our food was served with allergens until the end of the meal because she did not check how the food was—as any reasonable server should—shortly after it was delivered (by a different person). We only saw her after all the food and drinks were consumed. Aside, if a customer specifically requests food removed because of allergies, the server should make a mental note to check when the food is sent from the kitchen and correct it as needed. We didn't go out of our way to go inside and complain because we thought a long-anticipated night away from our toddlers shouldn't involve correcting anyone's carelessness (for a change) and because the side salad was certainly not the star of the show. Looking back, the appetizer was the best dish. Beyond that, any chef (or even regular teenage line cook with a summer job) should have the self decency to try making tasty food and to respect the dietary needs of their customers. Removing the carrots showed they knew about the food sensitivity and the server's instructions but they either didn't care (bad), don't understand food sensitivities and allergies (worse), or think it's funny to serve the customer something that will cause pain and a foul body reaction (worst, and frankly embarrassing that this is a likelihood). The food itself was what you would expect for the price and location: misplaced flavors, lack of heat, cheap ingredients (particularly the cheeses which do not represent Mexico, Texas, or Tex-Mex), sad and unsalted rice, too much sour cream, tough red meat, small enchiladas, thin commercially made tortilla chips, etc. In their quest to serve every cocktail on Earth and serve food on the weirdest shaped plates from Hamberger, they—as an entire restaurant—forgot to conform to basic culinary and hygiene standards; to season the poison they serve, and to care about the people who will pay fairly and return often if they receive a decent (or even half decent) meal. There are better Tex Mex places a bus ride away from this location. The owner and/or manager has every right to discipline the staff working on June 23rd or to just stop serving food entirely and focus on alcohol. Otherwise, they would be ignoring awful service and poor food preparation—a bad financial decision as well as a bewildering acceptance of what they are: an unenviable building that also offers ingredients on a plate; not even worthy of being called, "restaurant."

Avoid. The kitchen ignored allergy instructions and did not serve food spicy, as ordered. A server brought a drink that wasn't ordered. After notifying the server that it was clear the food allergy had been served (it was picked off by hand but small pieces remained on the plate) there was no offer to make amends and not even an apology. The flavors were okay but nothing remarkable. There are better Tex-Mex restaurants around Munich.

Here for the Euros and wanted to step away from the celebrations for a bit. Great menu, Inc vegie options. My pics don't do the portions justice. Prawn and spinach burretto and chicken chimichanga both delicious. Service very attentive. Excellent value for money (ladies toilets immaculate) Indoor and outdoor seating options.

The food tasted very good, drinks were also great. The service was very nice and attentive. The room seemed a bit too dark at first, but in the end it was ok - it fit the atmosphere. I found the cards a bit negative in connection with the lighting - they looked good, but the light shone so much on the surface that reading was a little more complicated because I was looking for an angle where I could see something. And if possible, please enlarge the playlist a little - some songs were played at least 3 times. That was a bit too much 😄

The food was good, the service was a bit overwhelming. It was fine once, but I won't visit the restaurant again. Otherwise the restaurant would be nice given the facilities.

Service was great, drinks tasted good. I'll be back. I can't say anything about the food because I didn't eat anything. The salsa dip with the nachos was really good (slightly spicy, not as sweet as in other Mexican restaurants)

The food was good, but unfortunately I didn't feel well in general. The staff seemed slightly aloof or perhaps just overworked. The whole thing was relatively expensive.

Pretty run down, I don't think anything has changed in 20 years 😜 Drinks solid, crowd rather very young.

Happy hour cocktails highly recommended. Food also delicious. Drinks had a little too much ice and tasted too alcoholic.

Unfortunately, I have often noticed that the male service staff are not particularly friendly. Cocktails, dips and other things are forgotten and if you ask the waiter about it you will be insulted. I celebrated my birthday there and unfortunately had to be annoyed. When the girls are there it is very nice, they are very accommodating, friendly and you feel comfortable.

We were just there and I have to say what immediately stands out is the SERVICE! A young waiter served us, but despite the restaurant being so full, he was so friendly. Food was pretty good, especially the tacos, fries and churros (for dessert) were so DELICIOUS! Ambiance was normal! Nothing special. (with a terrace.) So really worth a visit if you LOVE Mexican food! :D

The food Fajitas de Pollo is highly recommended! The cocktails are great mixed. The service was friendly, quick and frequent. Orders and invoices arrive promptly and there are no excessive waiting times. The judgments also come at the same time, as they should.

First of all: The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Unfortunately we still didn't like it. We waited a very, very long time for our drinks, sometimes so long that we thought we had forgotten our order. We also saw beer, which was ready to be taken away at the bar, being poured back and forth by the waitress to (probably) create a head of foam. Afterwards the beer was much paler and took away my thirst. Probably more relaxed and better during the week, but at the weekend it was far too crowded for us.

There is a happy hour until 9 p.m., which allows you to try various delicious cocktails.

Food is very good and also good portions. On Sundays and Mondays all cocktails are available for €6.90. Completely recommended.

This would've easily been a 5 star review if not for the long wait times as mentioned in other reviews. We came in for our reserved table at 7pm, ordered at 7:45pm, got our food at 9pm. The problem probably stems from the restaurant being overcrowded (which I don't mind that much) and the staff being overworked because of that. Fortunately, our waitress was really nice and at least understood that food was taking quite some time to arrive (better than it not being acknowledged at all). The drinks were also really good and decently priced. Food wise, everything tasted amazing and fresh, portions were also huge. I don't understand why people are expecting Mexican food when the restaurant is clearly advertising as Tex-Mex, so it's automatically going to have small differences between certain dishes. All in all, a good place to eat, if you're willing to wait a bit longer for your food and feel like you're sitting shoulder to shoulder with other people. Also, if you're planning on visiting on a weekend night, make sure you reserve your table at the beginning of the week. Bathrooms could be a bit better stoked with hand tissues next to the sink, but that just comes back to the staff probably not having time to refill since there's not enough people on hand.

Sehr coole Bar mit einer riesigen Cocktail-Auswahl! Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut und die Drinks waren alle sehr lecker. Das Personal war total freundlich und hat mir sogar ein bisschen Saft nachgeschüttet um den Cockatil zu verdünnen, weil er ein bisschen zu stark für mich war😅 Super Bar!

Bin enttäuscht von dem Restaurant. Es war sehr gut besucht und hat an sich geschmeckt. Leider nur eine Bedienung im Gastraum und eine hinter der Bar. Gequält-/genervte Freundlichkeit vom Kellner und sehr eng an den Tischen. Schade.

Obwohl es von Außen nicht viel Eindruck hat, wurde ich von Innen vom Gegenteil bewiesen. Der Service ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und visuell ansprechend. Im Ganzen würde ich jedem empfehlen, der noch nie oder auch schon Mexikanisch gegessen hat, hierher zukommen.

We ordered taco and fajitas, I really liked the atmosphere, the freshness of the food. Tacos were not so authentic, so delicious tho😍 They also have interesting happy hours, highly recommend here.

Sehr leckeres Essen und ein toller Service. Wir hatten keinen Tisch reserviert aber dank der netten Mitarbeiterin doch noch einen ergattert, leider nur für 1,5 Stunden. Es war, wie in solchen Bars üblich, sehr laut, voll und eng. Doch das Essen war fantastisch, schön scharf und eine fast zu große Portion für ein Abendessen. Ich werde dieses Lokal sicher wieder besuchen.

Ich war nach laaaaaanger Zeit wieder einmal in der Escobar und es war wieder fantastisch gut. Auch meine beiden Begleiter, die zum ersten Mal hier waren, waren begeistert. Super Essen, leckere und starke Cocktails. Eine sehr freundliche, strahlende Bedienung und vernünftige Preise. Was will man mehr.

Essen war super lecker und der Preis war angemessen. Die Cocktails waren auch schmackhaft und ab 23 Uhr gab es noch eine Happy Hour was sich preislich natürlich gelohnt hat. Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich. Der einzige kleine Minuspunkt war die Lautstärke. Durch die Musik wurde auch lauter gesprochen was dann nach 2 Stunden Kopfschmerzen bei mir auslöste und ich daraufhin gegangen bin. Aber sonst war alles super!

Leckere Cocktails zu einem wirklich noch humanen Preis . Personal auf Zack und sehr freundlich. Das Essen kann ich leider nicht beurteilen.

Ich war das erste Mal hier und muss sagen das dass Essen sehr lecker war. Wir waren eine grössere Gruppe und hatten viel Hunger mitgebracht.

Sehr große Auswahl an Cocktails. Was wir hatten, war auch lecker. Toller Service und wirklich sehr vernünftige Preise. Jeden Abend eine andere Happy Hour, wo es nochmal günstiger wird.

Es ist einer der leckersten Gerichte die ich gegessen habe und die Kellner lächeln immer, sind nett, die Cocktails schmecken auch sehr gut!Super bar/Restaurant!

Super Laden, es gibt nichts was nicht Super schmeckt. Wir waren dort schon mehrere Male und die Inneneinrichtung haut uns immer wieder aufs Neue um. Allerdings waren die Fajitas nicht warm

Essen und Getränke top, Preise auch gut. Leider völlig unterbesetzt, deshalb ewige Wartezeiten bis Essen/Getränke kommen.

Die Escobar ist und bleibt die verlässliche Bar Haidhausens mit leckeren Cocktails, egal ob Alkoholisch oder ganz ohne Alkohol. Ich habe bisher beim essen leider eher mehr negative als positive Erfahrungen sammeln dürfen, dennoch kann man hier schon mal was essen. Nichtsdestotrotz ist es eine Cocktail-Bar welche auf Drinks und nicht auf Essen spezialisiert ist. Dies merkt man auch denn die Qualitätsunterschiede zwischen Essen und Trinken sind spürbar. Leider gibt es auch für Vegetarier und/oder Veganer eine sehr kleine Auswahl, was heutzutage ein Muss in der Gastro sein sollte. Jedoch macht man in dieser Bar mit egal welchem Drink eigentlich nichts falsch! Klare Empfehlung für einen entspannten Abend mit Flüssignahrung ;)

Für einen Kurs abend das Perfekte Lokal. Wir hatten einen Super Service in einen schönen ruhigen Ecke von München. Das esssen war sehr gut und die Cocktails waren perfekt.

I hate to leave this place a bad review, but the meal took 1 1/2 after we ordered. It was good Tex/mex for being in Munich. We never got a refill on water. The waiter had too many tables. The food just took way too long.
