Eppendorfer Insel Restaurant & Eventlocation in Hamburg

During our visit to the Christmas market in Hamburg Eppendorf, we stopped at the event venue. The restaurant is relatively small, and the menu isn't very extensive. However, we really enjoyed the food. There was something for everyone. We had pizza, duck, and schnitzel. The service was excellent—very friendly and attentive.

Friendly staff, but room for improvement in service. We recently visited your restaurant and would like to offer mixed feedback. First, the positives: The food was truly delicious and a highlight of our visit. The staff were consistently attentive, very kind, and friendly. It was clear the team was making an effort. However, the service seemed unprofessional at times. There was noticeable uncertainty in the procedures when serving the food and especially when clearing the tables. It appeared to be a lack of coordination. The three-person team didn't seem to work well together, which led to delays and some chaos. With a little more training and better teamwork, the service experience could match the quality of the food. Despite this, we would gladly return because of the excellent food!

The food took forever, and then lukewarm beef fillet arrived. However, the two servers were incredibly helpful, apologizing, offering free drinks, promptly bringing a hot new fillet, and surprising me with a delicious dessert and a birthday serenade! You can't be upset about that; you'll definitely want to come back!

The staff were very attentive and friendly, but their coordination wasn't quite up to par. The appetizers and desserts were beautifully presented and tasted good. Unfortunately, the plates were cold, so the food got cold quickly. The duck was a bit tough, and it could have used more sauce. The steak tartare was delicious, but difficult to eat from the serving dish.

Had an excellent experience at Eventlocation Hamburg. The location is stylish, the staff were attentive and friendly, and everything ran smoothly from arrival to departure. All the staff were amazing — especially our waiter Yusuf. His attention, kindness, and effort to make us feel at home were outstanding. There is also a free parking area available, which is a great bonus. Thank you for the excellent service; we will definitely come back.

To celebrate a birthday, we visited Eppendorfer Insel for the first time and enjoyed a feast with five people, sampling our way through the menu. The exceptionally friendly service, from the initial greeting and wine recommendation to the dessert, was truly impressive. The dishes are presented in a modern and attractive style, and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality. The only minor issue preventing a five-star rating for the food is that the dishes were served on ice-cold plates, resulting in some side dishes being only lukewarm. Next time, please ensure properly pre-warmed plates and perhaps sharp steak knives, and we will be completely satisfied.

We celebrated our wedding here on October 31st. We couldn't have chosen a better location. The ambiance was absolutely perfect for our Halloween theme. From the planning stages to the day itself, the service was second to none. We had an outside wedding cake delivered, which unfortunately shifted completely, but the service team did an amazing job rescuing it. According to all our guests, the food was a 10 out of 10. A fantastic restaurant in Eppendorf that's more than worth a recommendation! We had a wonderful evening with excellent food and warm, friendly service! Plus, the prices are more than fair! So, if you're looking for a great meal, a glass of wine, or cocktails, this is definitely the place to go!

We celebrated our wedding at Eppendorfer Insel (conservatory + bar) with about 50 guests. An absolutely fantastic location – the combination was perfect for our number of people! The meal (we opted for a set menu rather than a buffet) took place in the conservatory, and the dance floor was located in the room with the bar. This meant that even when some people were standing at the bar, the dance floor always felt very full. Plus, people didn't have far to go for their next drink and could easily return to the dance floor if they wanted to take a break for a song or two and catch their breath on the benches. This prevented the crowd from feeling scattered. The ambiance was perfect with the sunny, slightly cloudy weather (around 20 degrees Celsius) and the conservatory. Very pleasant and the lighting was dreamy. Organization: A huge thank you to Lea for the wonderful coordination of our entire celebration. She responded incredibly quickly to our questions, and it was very relaxed to plan everything together! Food/Service: The meal was a set menu with an appetizer platter. We had complete freedom to choose our options, and adjustments could even be made right up until the last minute, including regarding the number of guests. The food was of very high quality, and the main courses had very generous portions. Definitely 5 stars+. The food was ready on time for 50 people. The service was incredibly good – every wish was fulfilled, all the guests were happy and equally impressed by the excellent service. Many thanks to Yusuf and the entire team! Also 5 stars+. We were able to enjoy the day, and the team perfectly coordinated everything. The staff also took care of decorating the venue with our decorations. We were able to drop off the boxes and flowers the day before. The day after the celebration, the decorations were already packed away in boxes for pickup – it couldn't have been better! The price/performance ratio for the venue and the service was also very good. For anyone planning their wedding, check out this venue! As soon as you enter, you're greeted by a beautiful fireplace, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere. I also particularly like that the dance floor is slightly separated from the dining area – so you can party hard while others chat in peace or enjoy the delicious food. And speaking of food: simply delicious! From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and truly delicious. Added to that was the attentive, warm staff who anticipated your every wish – a combination you rarely find. Even the Hamburg weather couldn't dampen the mood: In summer, it's incredibly romantic there, even when it rains, and in autumn or winter, the heated winter garden creates a wonderfully cozy ambiance. With a lot of guests, the bar is a little overwhelmed, but everyone is still very friendly and good. Parking was difficult. But the location is great, and so is the food.

We celebrated our wedding in the loft and were very satisfied! 10/10, a recommendation. Our advance planning was as stress-free as you could wish for. No hidden costs, everything transparent and flexible. The service team was very accommodating, friendly, and attentive. All requests and questions were answered promptly. Our menu was very good, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it (rumor has it that someone ate 8 mini burgers). There was a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.

We celebrated our wedding on Eppendorf Island and are absolutely thrilled. Since we needed a location at short notice, we were especially grateful for the quick, transparent, and friendly communication with the event manager. She explained all the options to us, made numerous offers, and we were able to reach an agreement quickly. The celebration itself was perfectly organized and highly professional. The food was excellent – ​​from beef fillet to vegan curry to zander fillet, plus antipasti, dessert, and even a late-night currywurst. Everything was spot-on and incredibly delicious. Special requests were also fulfilled without any problems, and we were even able to easily book a photo booth. The staff was friendly, attentive, prompt, and yet unobtrusive – simply outstanding. A particularly nice touch: It was possible to use a separate part of the island so our little daughter could sleep in peace. The fact that the celebration could also be held "open-ended" rounded off the evening perfectly. We are very happy and can wholeheartedly recommend Eppendorf Island for any celebration – especially a wedding.

I had dinner at Eppendorfer Insel with my family this week. I have to say I was absolutely thrilled; both the service and the food were top-notch. I highly recommend the steak tartare and the beef fillet. We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely be back!

Based on the reviews, I had high expectations and was bitterly disappointed. I ordered two appetizers: beef tartare (€14) followed by warm goat cheese. The tartare was the worst thing I've ever eaten. 1. Very coarsely cut, poorly seasoned, and unfortunately still frozen. I complained, but a brief "I'm sorry" was all I got. Except for the full amount on the bill. If this were my restaurant, I'd at least offer the guest an espresso or a free drink, but no. It's a shame; the staff are probably just poorly trained. It was very frustrating for me. They'll never see me again.

Unfortunately, the buffet wasn't at the right temperature in some places, and some of the food wasn't warm enough. Some of the potatoes weren't cooked all the way through. There's still room for improvement here. The food was delicious, though. Unfortunately, the desserts seemed very limited, and the service was a bit overwhelmed with the distribution. I think this was also due to the size of our group.

I celebrated my 70th birthday on April 26, 2025 in the lounge with over 40 guests. All of my guests were very satisfied with the ambience, the very attentive service and the purely vegetarian great buffet. Even hard-core meat consumers were thrilled and surprised that a vegetarian buffet could taste so good. The selected wines were also extremely good. During the preparation period, I had a professional and very friendly contact person, Janna Giesecke, who gave me very good advice. The one star deduction in the ambience is due to the condition of the sanitary facilities (especially the women's toilet) that is in need of improvement. I don't want to go into more detail about where the problem was... Apart from that, this is a highly recommended place to have a really good party. Many thanks to the team!

However, we didn't know that "event catering" also took place there - the four of us had arranged to meet again after a long time. The table was on the right in the large room with a large group, which of course was a bit louder. However, when a jazz quartet played, a conversation was actually no longer possible... So it's better to find out in advance which room you want to sit in and whether there is such an event there if you want it to be a little quieter.

We ate tuna pizza and vegetable pizza and tried smoothies in the restaurant here. :-) The pizzas tasted very good and arrived quickly. Modern furnishings and super friendly staff, we will definitely come back!

We were there Thursday and Friday. The food is simple but simply great. Appropriate portions at appropriate prices. Both tartars as well as steaks and pasta dishes are simply flawless; the truffle pasta has freshly grated truffles on top. The ambience is not the modern restaurant but a really cozy and quiet place to eat. Ideal for dates or evenings for two. The mood is very nice. The service is very cheerful and engaging, responsive to questions and requests, and all in all does a great job. Kind regards to Yusuf at this point. For us, the store has become close to our hearts and is always a pleasure to visit.

We dropped by spontaneously on a Sunday evening and were greeted very friendly, even without a reservation, and given a pleasant seat in the beautifully decorated interior. The food was excellent - it didn't take long, it was a nice sized portion and most of all it was very tasty. The fillet was medium and very tasty, the jus went well and special requests regarding the side dishes were also implemented. The homemade lemonades and desserts were also very tasty. The delicious bread with the dip was also excellent. The service was great - quick and very polite. The ambience is also great, the many wooden elements are beautifully decorated and illuminated. All in all, it was a very nice time, in a wonderful atmosphere with delicious food. We would love to come back!
