Yes, the most beautiful beer garden far and wide

Erlangen Bergkirchweih was great!

Definitely Erlangen's most beautiful beer garden. Open from April to September. Wonderful ambiance in the heart of the city on Burgberg under shady old trees. Since 2022, the brewery has also had its own brewery with a variety of delicious beers. So far, so good. But there are also problems. The food, especially the flagship duck, is very expensive. And that's for self-pickup. The selection has also changed: Asian veggie noodles instead of the old chicken or chili sine carne. A new target audience is clearly being targeted here. The cellar is best visited in the afternoon or very early evening. After 6 p.m., reservations increase, among others, from the local global company, and the parking lot is massively overcrowded. In contrast to his father, the junior boss clearly focuses less on tradition and more on the spirit of the times and the masses. Long lines at the bar and especially for food are the result. Certainly good for business. But there is a shift in clientele here. Old regulars are sometimes staying away. Typical of quantity over quality in June 2025: On a hot Sunday, almost 30 degrees Celsius, you can't get anything hot to eat at 9 p.m. No sausages, nothing. Business is over. The individual customer is out of luck. What a pity.

The visit to the Kerwa was great. A colleague had to leave early, so 5/5 beer mugs 🍻 Joking aside, the location is really cool; we had a pleasant seat under the trees and awning. The service was friendly and prompt. We'd love to come back to the cellar sometime!

This review only refers to a change to the menu! Up until now, I've always been a fan of Entla's Keller, and I still am. Unfortunately, this year someone had a "really good idea." The half chicken suddenly became a portion of chicken. I fell for it the first time, but that won't happen to me a second time. A portion of chicken. So, a quarter of a chicken with a tiny dollop of potato salad. First of all, I didn't get full, and I don't even want to talk about the value for money. I guess it's called profit optimization. Organic or not. To the person with the "really good idea": Score 6!

If you're passing through Erlangen, you have to stop by this bar. It's located a little higher up in Erlangen. You can buy drinks and bring your own food.

The Entlas Keller is open not only during the Erlangen Bergkirchweih (Bergkirchweih), but also beyond. I was there this year during the Bergkirchweih. The ambiance and seating were good. The atmosphere was good, too. The food was okay. Only the service at the Entlas Keller was a bit unfriendly and visibly overwhelmed. Of course, service at such a large event is a challenge. But it could be much better, especially since it affected virtually all of the staff. Hence the overall rating of only 3 stars.

It's quite disappointing that you can't even pay with last year's beer tokens at the Bergkirchweih, which was always possible without any problems in the past (I would have paid the surcharge compared to last year in cash, of course). These days, the most important thing seems to be to rip people off with completely unnecessary and abysmally ugly brother and sister hoodies, as well as with wildly overpriced food, alienating customers who have been loyal for decades. The family atmosphere that prevailed under senior boss Fritz is now history. A real shame!

Back in the basement after a long time. It was quite well filled and the beer tasted good too. Only the cash registers/booths were quite tense and sometimes not well organized.

At the Kerwa in Erlangen... what an atmosphere in a shaded area where beer mugs and sausage brotchens dance among the crowds who have come to party and taste typical Bavarian dishes.

At the Bergkirchweih and beyond: delicious food, friendly staff, idyllic location. And I like the music at the Berg better than anywhere else.

German Crazy! Crazy atmosphere, the traditional clothes are super original and the beer is pretty good. On the other hand, the crowd is impressive!! A must do at least once 🥳

Great atmosphere, especially outside in the evening with the large lanterns. The food (I had a delicious grilled chicken) was very good, but definitely not good value for money (hence the point deduction). Self-service was okay, but it can take a while.

Each liter of beer was half-filled with foam. After politely explaining that this wasn't okay, the younger colleague turned us away.

The beer cellar tour keller Führung, is an absolute must! The guide was a delight, he has so much knowledge and it was like experiencing a movie. There is a nice surprise in the tour which we didn't expect, definitely do it when got a chance. The food and beer is good. Beware during burgfest though.

A safe address for celebrations in Erlangen. Good food, excellent beer, lots of places and a great atmosphere are guaranteed when the weather is nice. I can only warmly recommend it 👍.

Every time you visit Erlangen, a trip to the “Berch” to the Entlas Keller is a must and a good thing 👍

Erlangen's best cellar! 😁 Especially since people brew here themselves - the brewery is a gem, albeit well hidden! Absolutely worth seeing, well planned, superbly built into the rock. Congratulations to the master brewer, it was certainly hard work, but it was worth it. You can see it, but above all you can taste it! It's hard to get away from under two measures! Price per measure is okay at 8.50.

4.80€ for the Seidla beer (size 8.50€) are prices beyond good and evil in our beer cellar region. The portion size of the Limburger with music is also a joke for the price. Given the price, I expect there to be more than just 4 small, thin triangular slices of cheese on the plate. Almost €10 and go home hungry. And that outside of the church fair season!

Yes, absolutely. If you would like to eat something, you should do so by 6 p.m. at the latest. After that, some things no longer exist. The food and beer as well as the ambience are really recommended.

The beer was great, and at around 5€, it was quite affordable—pretty much standard restaurant pricing. I also really liked the design of the beer mugs. Keep in mind that you’ll need to pay a 5€ deposit for each mug you order, but you'll get it back once you return the mugs to the beverage counter.

One of the top beers not only in Erlangen but also in Bavaria

We were in the beer garden on a Saturday lunchtime and were lucky enough to find a comfortable spot in the shade without any problems. The beer from the wooden barrel was not only delicious, but also fairly priced. We also found the variety of dishes very appealing - the bratwursts with sauerkraut were excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, so we felt completely comfortable. A perfect place to enjoy the day.

You can sit well under the chestnut trees, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff at the bar and food counter. The tarte flambée variations are original and very tasty. We'd love to come back.

Rustic beer garden in the “heart” of Erlangen. Good selection of food and drinks. The food is tasty and most likely a lot of it is homemade. One indication, for example, was the potato salad. You don't get such an uneven and large cut in a bucket 🤣 That's how it has to be! Good beer, but relatively expensive at 4.90 euros.

This is not a beer garden, for me it is an emotional hammock, study room and a green, tree-lined cathedral in the countryside. Almost a precursor to paradise, if not an earthly extension of it. Here you can rest in the balance of your soul, blessed by well-balanced, spicy hop indulgences in the stone jug. Even Zirze would succumb to the special magic of this place. Even the first sip, for example of the home-brewed monthly beer or the “Bratwörscht” (Güthlein Butcher’s Shop) with cabbage, leads to a deep inner peace that no one can or wants to escape.

Yesterday was my last visit to Entlas. The prices are now simply no longer justified, if you think about visiting a cellar outside of Erlangen and Forchheim you pay 1/3 and it tastes better too. Entlas somehow just feels like a tourist spot.

I really love this place. Every time I come to training at Erlangen, I don't miss coming to drink beer here. Good atmosphere, good-tasting beer. I really like the beer mug. I always keep it as a souvenir.

Been here so many times, am running out of choices on the menu. The Nikl Hell is always great of course.

There is always a well-mixed audience here. From young to old. Beer and food offered as you would expect in a beer garden. It's completely stress-free thanks to self-service. It's a good place to sit and if you're open, you can make contact quickly.

Every year we enjoy the ambience in Erlangen, in this beer garden. Musical entertainment and good food with Schäufele or roast duck...delicious. A tour of the cellar is also very interesting.

Large basement clearly for mass operations. When music is good mood. Eating in bulk, spaetzle from a bag with too much cream and ready-fried onions, vegetarian dishes are rather poor, toilets and roasts are always possible. Hardboard is good.

Great, huge, cozy, rustic beer garden in the middle of old, tall trees. Long queues for drinks and food are quickly "handled" (in a positive sense) thanks to good organization. Food is relatively expensive but really good. You can also eat snacks that you have brought with you.

Below-average prepared goods, small portions and medium-friendly staff at the food stand. It's a shame because the ambience could be nice.

Unfortunately, the selection of food was minimal because I was looking forward to a duck. That was a real shame.

The place was very beautiful and it had a vibe , the food was just ok but a very good place to spend the evening with friends and family. As it was a company meet for me it was pretty much fun.

Great cellar with moderate prices and fair portions. Limburger with music was very tasty, as was duck. Unfortunately, the red cabbage was very mushy when it was served. The dumplings were very dense and not fluffy/soft as usual. But overall, always worth a visit. You can also pay with card at each of the stations (beer, snack, warm).

Simply great even in mixed weather! With live music, delicious beer and the obligatory quarter duck with red cabbage and dumpling. But so delicious!!!

Classic beer garden with self-service. Mostly beer benches, some chairs. I particularly liked the selection of vegetarian dishes. I can definitely recommend Shakshuka!

We had a team event and everything was really well coordinated. Really one of my favourite kellers in Erlangen. One little point of improvement is that I miss on the menu is something to eat that is only plant based (vegan).

Food: Hähnla is delicious, just like the cellar size. Service: It's cool. Ambiance: When the weather is very nice like today, it's a dream and otherwise it's beautiful.
