EMIL Grill & Meer in Dortmund

Went to the menu carousel in Emil yesterday. Top location, the food on the menu carousel was top. Will definitely visit again.

100% recommendation. I wasn't even aware that Dortmund had such a first-class restaurant. 5 stars are absolutely justified in all categories.

Sitting for an hour they didn't even bring us water. We asked for wine and nothing, the waiters were non-existent

Competent and friendly service, beautiful ambience, very good quality food. Very expensive, so not something you would do too often, but still worth it. Paid a total of €152 for 2 people. But the experience was definitely worth it, I've rarely had such a good steak. The greeting from the kitchen was also very tasty. When we were told our order had gone under, we were immediately offered a round of free drinks. Definitely coming back

Menu carousel last night at Emil: Perfect. After we were a little disappointed in another restaurant last week, there was absolutely nothing to complain about here. A wonderful menu, delicious wines, courteous service. - We were missing the espresso on the bill. When we asked, they said: "Everything went perfectly that evening. Unfortunately, the espressos were at the table a little too late. I didn't want to add them to the bill." - This is service! - From us: full marks and full recommendation.

Highly recommended if you are looking for something special. From the service to the dessert, everything was commendable. The only thing that is difficult is finding the way via Google because the location is given incorrectly.

This evening we were guests at Emil. We were served personally by Sebastian Felsing. We liked both the cod and the salt marsh lamb with wild mushrooms. The restaurant is a recommendation. It's best to park directly in the pleasant underground car park in Dortmunder U.

It wasn't our first time here today. The ambience is great and the food is really worth the price. Unfortunately, we were annoyed by the general waiting time in service and when we were waiting for the food. Unfortunately 1.5 hours is too long. We will still come back.

Have dined here several times. Even during the Inter-Tabac we got a table for two promptly and at short notice. The meat is of good quality and is cooked exactly as ordered. Everything without any frills - the taste counts. Very nice and attentive staff. The only drawback: it can get a little louder due to the beautiful vault.

Amazing experience. Staff was really polite and capable. Absolutely phenomenal steak and the interior of the restaurant was stunning. Staff was also helpful, after the dinner they informed us of great places in the area where we could go for a drink. All round very great experience.

One of the best restaurants serving beef steaks in the area. Place is a little bit pricey however quality of service and food is fantastic.

Unfortunately, at the Á la Carte Festival in Dortmund, I had to drink the worst mojito of my life at this restaurant's stand. The whole thing resembled pure lime juice. So sour that it made my face grimace when I drank it. The bar was friendly, but overall seemed very inexperienced, overwhelmed and unfortunately a bit unhygienic. For €9.50 it's a shame. The need for repetition is therefore non-existent.

All in all, we were satisfied with our visit to EMIL. The service is very attentive and particularly noteworthy. The food was very good, but the price was also very high. In principle I would say that you pay a little more for the location and the price is therefore a little too high for what is on offer. Overall, we can recommend the EMIL.

Yesterday we were at Emil with 4 people. The welcome was very nice and friendly. The waitresses at the place were also great! Attentive, quick, friendly and always in a good mood. The food was also explained for each course. 3 of us had the 4-course menu for €80 per person. One person had a starter, steak and patatos and a dessert. All in all, our group enjoyed it. The prices are very high - certainly justified given the type and quality of the meat. It was a great evening, but we weren't 100% convinced. Nonetheless, big compliments to the whole team.

The ambience and food are good, but the prices are way too high. The same quality can be found much cheaper in other nice restaurants in Dortmund and the surrounding area!

The food was sensational. Of course a little more expensive. The price per 100 grams is shown on the menu. Mental arithmetic desired. The service is attentive and nice. Our dog was immediately given water and a treat. Before we could even order anything. The service after dinner could still be worked on. Some guests may want another dessert or schnapps or espresso. All in all, recommended. The charm of the brewery cellar is also worth seeing. Don't wait until you press to the toilet. The path is not very short.

Perfect. If you have the time, you will get first-class service and food here. Keep it up . Unfortunately not a nice area to park in the evening.

At EMIL you can eat very good steaks in the time-honored brewery cellar of the former Union brewery. We had a bit of a wait, but it was resolved well. The service was quick, it took a while to get the drink, but it's supposed to be an enjoyable evening ;). The highlights for me were the black entrecôte as a steak and the starter, a well-made Black Angus tataki. Seldom have I had such a good and tender fried pulp outside of Galicia :) All in all, a very good address, with small discounts for the dip and sauce prices.

We had a very nice evening. We were spontaneously able to get a table and ate the dish from the menu carousel, including wine accompaniment. Thank you for the upscale and successful evening. The nice service was also worth highlighting.

We had dinner there today and were both extremely satisfied. The service was very polite and courteous and absolutely not intrusive, the ambience was excellent and, above all, the entire restaurant was full of guests and you could still have a great conversation without having to "talk loudly". We both ate a steak and were completely satisfied. The fries were excellent, we usually always season the food when we eat out - but that wasn't necessary this time. I would put it briefly...for the amount of money, reasonable food, carelessly presented and then not the desired level of cooking for a steakhouse. Staff friendly, location very nice. But that's not enough for the prices... What a shame

Unfortunately, the poor service negatively affected the entire experience. At the beginning we had to wait 20 minutes until the drinks were taken... The shop was empty. Very inattentive waiters who constantly walked past you or stood somewhere chatting, even though you had asked for the menu again after you had eaten your meal. For a location like this, I expect service and waiters who can read my every wish. But at least they can/must/should answer my questioning look for a contact person! It's a shame, but it wasn't worth it for us.

Delicious. The ambience doesn't necessarily appeal to me, but I'll come back just because of the delicious food!

The ambience is fantastic, the service is also exemplary. Price performance is right in my opinion. after not - 170 euros for three without alcohol. Well, I've eaten better. A la carte dishes are probably the better choice. Self-assembled dishes... there came a small steinbeißer or a little pulpo lost with a few crouttons on the plate without any garnish, sauce or similar. Just under 30 euros. Pulpo goes much better elsewhere. This wasn't fine dining. The dessert was fantastic, but we had to wait a long time for it. In terms of quantity but also just for the cost - 13.50 is also exorbitantly expensive. The meat portions at the next table also looked very sparse. Please be careful when parking in front of the door - it will be towed away. I prefer the modest, upscale cuisine with more passion, which is a shame.

We were looking forward to the evening with an open mind, the first impression was really great (ambience is beautiful) Service was quick and friendly at the beginning. The first order was taken quickly and the greeting from the kitchen didn't take long to arrive, unfortunately in the 2 1/2 hours it only stayed with this one order because we apparently felt like we were invisible (the table was definitely visible because it was very central), everyone Others around us were asked every 15-20 minutes whether everything was okay and whether they would like something to drink... of course I could have called someone but this is not a run-of-the-mill burger chain for 15 euros a meal Two for over 200 euros you can definitely expect a little more service!!

Das war von vorne bis hinten super. Top Service, sehr schöne Location, großartige Steaks, Garpunkt perfekt getroffen, viele super weine für unter 30€. Rundherum gelungen. Preislich insgesamt fair. Verbesserungsvorschläge? Die Speisekarte ist relativ schmal. Als Beilage zum Steak fehlten uns Klassiker wie Ofenkartoffel oder Spinat, als Sauce Chimichurri.

We always enjoy being guests here. The service is excellent - always friendly and unobtrusive. The steaks are top quality, prepared exactly as ordered. Starters and desserts are also delicious and the greeting from the kitchen sets the mood wonderfully. In terms of price, it is naturally in the upper range, which is why it is our annual highlight.

Schönes Ambiente, das Essen ist gut, der Service ok (nett und freundlich, aber kriegt es halt nicht hin, es hat alles sehr lange gedauert). Insgesamt finde ich es nicht so gut - aber auch nicht richtig schlecht.

Waren zum Silvester Menü dort. 19 Uhr war Start des Menü angedacht das wurde allerdings auch erst 19.30. Service von Anfang bis Ende überfordert. Mit dem Willkommensgruß (Champagner) wurde KEINE Getränke oder Weinkarte auf dem Tisch plaziert oder abgefragt. Erst als alle Gäste (60-70) an ihren Tischen plaziert waren, wurden weitere Getränke abgefragt,dann aber auch wieder nur auf Nachfrage Karten nachgereicht. Wen man als Thekenmitarbeiter dann 60 Getränke auf einmal bekommt dauert es natürlich ewig. Die Küche musste mit ,den Service der Speisen übernehmen. In den Pausen zwischen den Gängen gab es weder ein Programm noch Musik im Hintergrund. Der Abend wurde immer zäher und auch der Tisch neben uns war nicht begeistert über lange Wartezeiten. (22 Uhr schon Kaffee & Espresso für manche zum wach bleiben).Wir selber bestellten uns eine Flasche Wein die aus dem Kühler nachgefüllt wurde. Ich selbst musste allerdings 2x drauf achten, das nicht, unserem Nachbartisch aus der Flasche eingeschenkt wurde. Das zum Thema Service & Ambiente. Essen war gut und lecker und Preislich gerechtfertigt. Gute Arbeit vom Herr Fellsing & Team. Fazit: Weniger Gäste, bessere Organisation des Service (Feste Bereiche, Getränkekarten auf den Tischen), Musik zum Anlass (Silvester), dann müssten die Gäste nicht von 18.15 - 23.15 (5 Std.!) auf ein leckeres Menü warten.

Wir waren früher regelmäßig zu Besuch. Aber diesmal war der Service und einige Speisen sehr übersichtlich. Wir waren 12 Personen. Es wird kein Brot serviert. Mallorquinische Carabineros für € 21,- das Stück, jedoch je 20 Gramm! Einfach sehr unverschämt...

Sorry, Mit 13 Leuten Tisch für 18 Uhr 30 bestellt aber Essen kam nach 2,5 Stunden erst. Als erstes die Vorspeise, dann nach ca. etwas über 30 Minuten die Hauptspeise Steak und das war lauwarm und von der Qualität Mittelmaß. Meine Frau hatte Hähnchenbrust die aussah als wäre die gekocht und kurz angebraten aber trotzdem schlabrig! Zum Schluss gab es noch was Süßes das war OK! Dann viel der Kellnerin eine kleine Schale mit Essen runter hinter mir, was auf dem Boden liegen gelassen wurde und alle die da her gingen immer schön darüber liefen. Es war schon sehr laut. Für das was zum Schluss bezahlt wurde mäßig. Ich kann ich diese Restaurant nicht weiter empfehlen 😞

Wir haben gestern über eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet. Bestellt haben wir das Surf und Turf für zwei Personen. 179€! Das Fleisch war nicht lecker und war sehr zäh! Die Pfanne war etwas zu klein geraten. Für 179€ haben wir viel mehr erwartet!

Sorry, das war gar nichts. Absprache für eine Gruppe in einer Art und Weise, die man nicht Mals unfreundlich nennen kann, sondern eher so, als ob man tatsächlich gar nicht möchte, dass wir kommen. Und so war es dann auch. Peinlich und traurig. Dann lieber selber kochen.

Vom eintreffen bis zum verlassen des Restaurant ein perfekter Abend ! Die Kellner waren freundlich und standen mit Rat und Tat zu Seite . Die Gerichte waren perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt . Von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert ein Traum . Von der Anrichtung bis zum abschmecken ! Perfekt ! Besser geht es wirklich nicht . Hier heißt es zurücklehnen und genießen . Ich bedanke mich , für diesen wundervollen Abend . Wir kommen auf jeden Fall öfter .

Bestes Restaurant in Dortmund. Die Steaks bzw. der Gesamteindruck kann sich mit Top Adressen in aller Welt messen.

Das Essen ist sehr gut und die Atmosphäre gemütlich aber der Service sehrrrr langsam. Wir haben 1,5 Std. auf unseren Hauptgang gewartet, und das mehr auf ein mal. Freunde haben das gleiche berichtet. Schade eigentlich, gerade für den Preis.

Probably the best steak I’ve had in Germany. 500g of Nebraska Angus Ribeye cooked to a medium rare. Great beer, greats sides, great atmosphere, but excellent service. I will definitely be coming back!

Davvero un ottimo posto per mangiare carne di qualità. Siamo stati in gruppo per una cena di lavoro. Tutti i contorni e le carni erano ottimi così la scelta dei vini. Il locale è molto particolare e c’è tanta attenzione al cliente sebbene i camerieri non siano super accoglienti ma comunque fanno a pieno il loro lavoro. Sicuramente da provare!

Wir waren zu unserem Jahrestag vor Ort und kennen uns mit schickem Essen gehen nicht richtig aus,das vorweg. Der Empfang war super klasse, höflich lustig und zuvorkommend. Der Service insgesamt Oberklasse - uns wurden die Gerichte erklärt und stets danach geschaut, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Ich hatte ein Rip-Eye Steak und war völlig baff über die Anrichtung und den Geschmack. Insgesamt ein 1a Erlebnis!!

Wir haben unser Hochzeitsessen im EMIL ausgerichtet und es war eine fantastische Erfahrung. Die Organisation, das Essen und der Service waren einfach großartig. Wir wurden so lieb behandelt, dass wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen werden und jedes Jahr unseren Hochzeitstag bei euch feiern werden :-) Endlich mal ein Dienstleister, der sein Handwerk von A-Z versteht, zuverlässig und verbindlich ist. Получила незабываемое впечатление. Когда принесли креветки, которые вообще не готовили. А просто замариновали. Так же произвёл впечатление счёт за них. За ровно 5 креветок 90 евро. Я ещё удивилась когда официант спросил меня сколько креветок я хочу. Вель в счёте стояла цена 19 евро.. Думала за блюдо.. Оказалось за каждую креветку!! 🤣 А атмосфера отличная. Расслабляющая. Красивый интерьер. Но никому не советую! Есть много мест в Дортмунде, где можно намного вкуснее покушать.. И атмосфера будет лучше. До сих пор не понимаю, почему не отправила те креветки обратно на кухню! Чтоб их элементарно приготовили!!! В сыром виде они ужасны.

Das kulinarische Erlebnis war von höchster Qualität. Ich kann das Restaurant Emil uneingeschränkt empfehlen, insbesondere für Liebhaber exzellenter Steaks. Dieser Ort hat meine kulinarischen Erwartungen übertroffen und wird sicherlich zu einer meiner ersten Anlaufstellen für feine Gaumenfreuden.

Geweldige plek om te dineren! Het eten was fantastisch en de service was top. Ik ben zeer tevreden en kom zeker terug.

"Gans mal anders" : Auf dem Teller für über 30 Euro serviert man mir 2 winzige "Pralinen" aus der Gänsekeule und einen schmalen, recht zähen Streifen aus der Gänsebrust. Dazu 4 (!) kleine Gnocci und einen halben aufgeschnittenen Champignon. Das Ganze liegt auf einem ganz dünnen Spiegel von püriertem Rotkohl. Geschätzte Zutatenkosten: 5 Euro, wenn überhaupt. Das Dessert "Der Apfel" versöhnt ein ganz wenig....Wer genügend Geld übrig hat- bitteschön.......

Schönes Ambiente, haben sogar einen TV Star aus Amerika vor Ort getroffen. Spricht also für sich 👌🏼

Perfekt, super Ambiente und lecker essen

Essen und Service war sehr gut. Hier isst man nicht preiswert, aber das Essen ist seinen Preis wert. Einen Stern habe ich beim Ambiente abgezogen, weil ein permanent aufdringliches Geräusch im Hintergrund wahrnehmbar war; vermutlich ein Kühlaggregat.

Nicht ganz günstig, aber das Essen wie auch der Service sind angemessen. Tolles Restaurant wenn man sich mal etwas gönnen möchte!

Leider war das bestellte Filet kalt und hatte einen zu hohen Fettanteil. Daher bin ich von der Qualität leider überhaupt nicht überzeugt. Ich würde nicht noch einmal hingehen.

Tolle, innovative und gleichzeitig klassische Küche, dazu mit Abstand die besten Steaks. Dies ist das erste Lokal, welches mit dem 800°C - Ofen umgehen kann und auch damit Steaks englisch / rare zubereitet. Im Hohoffs wurde mir leider immer erklärt, dass "Well done" im prinzip englisch sei und ich keine Ahnung hätte. Der Service ist ebenfalls hochprofessionell und einfach klasse. Klare Empfehlung!! Eine Ergänzung: Bei den 5 Sternen bleibt es aufgrund der tollen Küche und des furchtbar lieben und tollen Service. Allerdings ist es in der Gastro ein absolutes No-Go, zwei völlig (!!) verschiedenen Gerichten den selben (!) Namen zu geben. Tod durch Schokolade (12/2019: 👍🏻) Tod durch Schokolade (03/2020: Hatte nichts mit dem bekannten Dessert zu tun... WAS SOLL DAS? Sorry, da hab ich mich verschaukelt gefühlt. Nennt es "Tod durch Frucht", aber das grenzt an Etikettenschwindel. Weitere Anmerkung: "Jetzt gleich" bedeutet niemals 45 Minuten. Bitte in die Menüorga mit einplanen. Update 04.08.2023: Man steht vor verschlossenen Türen, da ohne Ankündigung im Netz etc. das Restaurant für Dortmund a la Carte temporär geschlossen wurde. Daher nach reiflicher Überlegung in der Tat eine Abwertung auf einen (!) Stern. Zur Erläuterung: Weder im Netz, noch auf dem AB ein Hinweis darauf teilen mir als Kunden mit, dass man gut auf mich verzichten kann. Alles klar, nur muss man dann damit rechnen, gute Kunden zu verlieren. Wir werden nie mehr das Emil besuchen, da wir uns als Kunden nicht ernst genommen fühlen.

Stylisch, aufmerksamer Service. A la Carte - Angebot von kalkulierbaren Speisen ist überschaubar, Fleisch wird nach Gewicht berechnet und jede Beilage geht extra. Qualität der Speisen ist exzellent.

Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet und die Weine ebenfalls hervorragend! Das Team ist sehr freundlich und der Service ist sehr gut. Es war ein toller Abend und wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.
