Ellipse Restaurant, Bar & Lounge in Köln

I am really disappointed about my stay at this hotel, especially considering the €360 per night incl taxes. The room lacked basic amenities such as a kettle, coffee maker, and mini-fridge. Additionally, the lack of hospitality was concerning: we were charged €10 for coffee, whereas an €18 breakfast includes unlimited coffee. This feels like a manipulative practice, especially since we have a special diet and could not partake in their breakfast offerings. The price-to-quality ratio fell far short of my expectations. Given the costs, I anticipated a much more pleasant experience in terms of both facilities and service. Unfortunately, my stay here was a disappointment, and I would not recommend this hotel.

5/5 stars, very good martini. Sergej and Simona are really warm people and also super professional. Both of them served us very warmly and were able to have a good chat (even though it was already late). Gladly again when these two nice people are there! Best regards Sina + Michael

Fast service from friendly staff. In the evenings you can enjoy delicious drinks there. For more coziness, the lights outside could be turned on and the candles lit.

In short: Very tasty, good service, high prices. At 8 p.m. in the evening the lights/fairy lights would have been on outside, it would have made the atmosphere more comfortable.

Our journey with the Radisson Blu began when we drove to Cologne for the Madonna concert and stayed at the hotel. The experience left a positive mark. Fast forward a few weeks, and despite staying at another hotel for our five-week work engagement, the Radisson Blu's bar lounge has unexpectedly become our favorite spot for dinner or a casual drink. The inviting atmosphere is, of course, accentuated by the exceptional service of the bar staff, whose genuine warmth and attentiveness consistently elevate our evenings. It's the kind of place that effortlessly draws us in, making our evenings in Cologne not just enjoyable but genuinely memorable. Kudos to the fantastic bar staff for turning a simple visit into an outstanding experience!

Ordering drinks here is not possible without a cell phone as there is no bar menu. The staff only speaks and understands English, which is generally not a big problem but there is no advice. Pay only by card. Official means of payment are therefore not accepted. Nothing works for me at all.

Very disappointing restaurant for a 4* hotel, only 5 dishes available: cheeseburger €25, steak €34 and 3 types of FROZEN pizza's, for which you pay €19!

We went here before our concert because of the good reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the kitchen. Three out of six main courses were out. With the alternative I wanted to choose, the waiter couldn't swap the potatoes for fries. You could only have ordered these additionally. The system is very inflexible. The food we got was pretty mediocre. The barman, on the other hand, stood out from the rigid system with his very friendly and appealing service. The bottom line is that I'm surprised by the high rating.
