Ellinikon in Schwerte

Unfortunately just chaos! Had reserved a table for 11 people for Saturday. Despite making a reservation, we had to wait half an hour because the restaurant was completely overcrowded. We were then seated at a table that was much too small and shortly afterwards moved to a larger one. The whole thing took 45 minutes. We had to wait a long time for drinks and food. Unfortunately some of the food was cold and a few things were missing.

Super nice staff, food was also super tasty. What was a bit annoying was the barking dogs on site, which makes you ask yourself, do you really have to take your dog with you to a restaurant?

Ordered gyros, gratinated sheep's cheese, schnitzel and various sauces via the online service today. It was only ready 25 minutes after the official appointment, when we got home we found that the gyro was cold, instead of the two sheep's cheese we ordered there was only one and it was also cold! The Metaxa sauce was watery and of course cold. All in all, this was a failure! I've eaten there several times and at least the food was always very good and tasty, otherwise we wouldn't have ordered there.

We went to the restaurant on October 4, 2024 based on a recommendation with a table reservation at 6 p.m. I was the last to have my food served at 8 p.m. and it was cold. I can't recommend it. The ambience has nothing to do with a Greek and neither does the gyro plate.

The ambience of the restaurant is really beautiful and very inviting – a real highlight! Unfortunately, the food didn't quite keep up with the atmosphere. The meat was a bit dry, and overall I've eaten better at the Greek one. Maybe we're just a little spoiled, so I'm still giving it 3 stars. As I said, the ambience deserves 100 percent, but the food still has room for improvement.”

Great restaurant with Greek cuisine. The food is super tasty and sufficiently portioned. The only point of criticism is due to the service staff. In my opinion, people asked if anyone else wanted something to drink far too irregularly/rarely. So you had to be a little more attentive to the service staff in order to find a suitable time for an order.

2024_0406: After getting to know the Ariston restaurant in Schwerte with the KulinarisCard 2017, we are very pleased to have found the new location in Schwerte-Villigst. Restaurant Ariston is now called Restaurant Ellinikon. We got a very nice table in the winter garden of the Ellinikon restaurant, and there are enough parking spaces in front of the house for the guests of the house. Our dinner was the Ellinikon platter for 2 people, a combination of lamb, beef fillet, pork fillet, gyros, with tzatziki, herb butter, fries and salad. The food tasted excellent. We also drank freshly tapped Hövels and Ouzo On The Rocks. Thank you for the successful evening. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again. 2024_0920: Visited the Ellinikon restaurant in Schwerte again. Wonderful evening in the winter garden in wonderful late summer weather. Ellinikon plate for 2 people impresses with its quality and quantity. The service staff is very attentive and takes excellent care of the guests.

Today we were able to get to know the Ellinikon at a birthday party and were very satisfied from start to finish. Super friendly hospitality, delicious food, no “ready-made food” and still quickly on the table for a hungry stomach. Large selection of non-alcoholic drinks too. Special requests were happily and reliably implemented. The prices are also fair and if you can't manage everything (which I think was the case with all of us), you are offered to take the rest with you. Our conclusion - we would be happy to drive another 50 km for this great experience and would be happy to come back even without a special reason! Thank you for the hospitality!

We had a family dinner at Ellinikon in Schwerte. At first it made a pretty solid impression. Half construction site, half modernized restaurant. But he should be disappointed. The menu on the internet and outside the restaurant didn't match the menu in the restaurant at all. We then decided on a MetaxaTeller with 3 people. Didn't taste bad per se. But from Monday to Tuesday the drama began. The next disappointment was to follow in the form of food poisoning. I've never felt so bad. Unfortunately it can only be due to the Ellinikon restaurant, as there was nothing else in the previous days. I'm really angry and it's obvious that 3 people, all Metaxa, had the same problem. The service seemed overwhelmed because the boss was supposedly on vacation. I'm sorry but I'll never eat here again and can't recommend it. Never again.

If you already work with a delivery service like Lieferando, you should be able to keep the prices and goods up to date or simply part with this delivery service. However, it is an absolute cheek to make the customer feel guilty because he ordered via Lieferando (WHAT IS DISPLAYED DIRECTLY ONLINE). Telling me that out of kindness they won't charge anymore and will cancel the order next time because they don't work for Lieferando ;) I also had to listen to the waiters gossiping about other waiters and the atmosphere was absolutely terrible. By the way, a customer was eating with his ill-behaved dog, who was constantly jumping at everything and everyone. Apparently the dishes we ordered are no longer on the menu...Gyros and Gyros Metaxa...I checked the menu online and bullshit. The food itself was terrible, but the gyros were delicious. The pita wasn't cooked through, unfortunately it was raw. Fries were 1€ from Kaufland and I wouldn't even have given the salad to my dog. But of course now we want more money for everything. I was passing through and will probably never be a customer again...thank God! Ps: Be sure to change your waiters!

Unfortunately there are no meze on the summer menu, although they actually fit perfectly in the summer. That was the only reason we were there specifically, so it was a disappointing visit.

Pure chaos!!! Despite a reservation, we had to wait almost an hour until the order could be placed. Then waited another hour for the food - didn't get any salads, wrong starter... Staff was completely overwhelmed. We won't be visiting Ellikon again for the time being and certainly won't be recommending it to friends. It's a shame that a Saturday evening was so ruined.

Today we were in Ellinikon for the first and probably last time. Despite making a reservation for 6:30 p.m., we still had to wait in line for a free table for a good 20 minutes. After that the waiting continued, and around 7:30 p.m. we were finally able to order drinks and food. Our food was served at 8:30 p.m. The salad was missing and was not refilled. A second drink that was ordered was not brought, but it was on the bill. Some guests got ouzo, some didn't. We were among the latter. The boss explained that he was stressed and that there was a lot going on. Yes, that may be all, but that's not how you should treat guests. Card payment was also not possible. The food was at least delicious, hence the two stars. It's a shame, it could have been such a lovely evening...

Very good food! Even though a few things unfortunately went wrong today due to a lack of staff, I can recommend Ellinikon. The owner was open to criticism and sincerely apologized for the circumstances! Not a given these days. We will be back…..

Ambience and service were great, everyone at the table found the fries without seasoning and the tzatziki very, very lax. The food was otherwise great and delicious.

We waited more than an hour for our food and the drinks took quite a long time to arrive. The length of the meal was probably due to the high demand for the gyro, which was empty at 7:45 p.m. But food was great. I hope the service and organization will be improved.

The food was great but the service was unfortunately very bad. It took half an hour before drinks were taken. After 1.5 hours of waiting, the salads came with the main course. Especially when you go out to eat with children, it's just way too long.

Had dinner with two people last night. The leg of lamb and the chicken skewer were very tasty and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were plentiful. We didn't get everything done. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Even though it was our first time there, we were greeted with a handshake and said goodbye. Always my pleasure.

A really great restaurant and the food is simply great. Today I ordered a schnitzel that was delicious. For Mother's Day all women get a rose 🌹 just a nice gesture.

Since we remembered the Ellinikon as good, we booked a table for 12 people to celebrate a big birthday. And were very disappointed. The service was subpar, drinks and menus were only available upon request, and there were always empty glasses at the table. Even worse, orders were constantly denied, several common drinks (Ouzo!!!) were no longer available, as were food. Culminating in the fact that the waiter, playing on his cell phone, had to ask for drinks at the counter. When we looked at the bill the next day, there were two inexplicable items: "various over 30 euros on it. For this reason we visited the restaurant again, also to draw attention to the very poor service. As the boss apologized, we got the incorrect bookings (...a rogue who thinks evil...) and a bottle of wine, but unfortunately the birthday dinner turned out sadly. Like many missing goods, she explains that they are delivered on a Wednesday there, what do the guests get on Tuesday??? About the food: The 12 main courses were brought so that we could all eat together. Quality but no more than average, some things lukewarm and other side dishes than on the menu without any indication... About the ambience: Our table ended up against a wall with a television (dusty) and under a creaking speaker.

We were thrilled to have found this excellent Greek restaurant that was previously located in Schwerte. The service is super nice and very attentive. The owner takes very touching care of the well-being of the guests. The beautifully prepared Greek specialties were a sight to behold and the perfect treat for the palate. The five stars are more than deserved and we get a crown from us. This was a wonderful birthday surprise. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Solid restaurant, friendly service

We have often been guests at the Ellinikon. All dishes are very tasty and of very good quality. Both the boss and the staff are very nice and friendly. Unfortunately we are now very disappointed with the service! If it is e.g. For example, if it's full on a Saturday evening, it's understandable that you'll have to take some time with you. But the service staff is not very attentive. Ordering more drinks is almost impossible. A meal was forgotten. Hand signals are not seen or ignored. Good staff should ask from time to time whether you are satisfied or have any further wishes. Instead the staff was busy eating themselves. There was a group of people in the adjoining winter garden who were apparently allowed to smoke - the smoke could be smelled all the way to our table. Very unpleasant to eat as a non-smoker. We would have liked to drink more - no chance! The friendliness and the ouzo before and after the meal are nice gestures, but the stay was once again no longer pleasant due to the lack of good service. We will be visiting another restaurant soon. There are not enough parking spaces for the capacity of the restaurant. It is difficult to find parking elsewhere.

Absolutely recommended; Very good Greek food, very good and friendly service and great ambience, priced in the upper segment. The only criticism I would have is the cleanliness of the restaurant, please remove the cobwebs on the lamps etc.!

The food is very good and the portions are more than sufficient. As for the service, at least when it's full, we didn't like it at all. When we arrived, we stood there for about 10 minutes and waited for our table, but no one cared. Drinks came relatively quickly, the starter was forgotten and then brought, and then we waited almost 1.5 hours for the main course. In addition, no one came to the table and asked for drinks. We had to speak to the waiter. We were then told it was Saturday... and full. It didn't work at all! A pity! We then skipped dessert altogether. You can't treat guests like that, even when it's full! We weren't the only ones who were surprised about this service, or rather non-service.

Extremely long waiting time for the meal, we got the wrong dish and the wrong dish was charged on the bill, even though it was said that it should be cheaper. When we looked again on the internet, this unfortunately turned out to be a lie. It's a shame that so much went wrong for us that evening, it was our first and definitely our last visit there...

1x and never again!! First we had to wait half an hour before we even got a menu and could order drinks! After 1 hour, 2 of 4 appetizers arrived! The other two were forgotten and, after we asked, they were brought incorrectly twice. Afterwards we had to wait another 1 1/2 hours for our food! Again something wrong was brought to our table, but we took it straight away. After about half an hour, 3 correct dishes out of 4 arrived. We still kept the food because we were just hungry and didn't feel like waiting anymore. The starters were very tasty, the main meal was ok, but nothing more. As an apology we got a drink and dessert on the house. The dessert was put on the table rather carelessly, even without cutlery. Finally, we were billed for the dish we ordered correctly and claimed that it was cheaper than the one we got. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a lie after we looked at the menu again online. It's a shame that so much went wrong for us that evening.

Second time there and despite the full load everything was great. Food drinks cooked and delivered quickly and tasty. The boss takes care of their guests themselves. For all guests regardless of color or party for which ALL GUESTS are to be served so that you can have a cozy experience together with friends or relatives. Definitely recommended.

Unfortunately a disappointing visit. The meat was tough like it was from 1933 and the sauces were way too brown.

Went there for the first time today and I have to say, highly recommended.

...eigentlich wollte ich diese Bewertung nicht schreiben. Wir waren mittwochs vor 2 Wochen zum Abendessen im "Ellinikos". Wir sind schon oft dort gewesen & waren zufrieden. Beim, für uns nun letzten !!! Besuch bestellten wir uns die Athos- Kartoffeln. Da wir sofort bemerkten, es wurden ALTE Kartoffeln für die,Zubereitung verwendet, bemühten wir uns, die Athos-Kartoffeln zu reklamieren, aber wir wurden einfach "übersehen". Als wir endlich unsere Rechnung begleichen konnten, haben wir darauf hingewiesen. Der Chef wurde vom Service zum Tisch gerufen.... der Chef erklärte uns: " das kann nicht sein, bei uns ist alles frisch, wir hatten gestern Ruhetag." Eben....die verwendeten Kartoffeln hatten eine stark eingetrocknete, gummiartige Oberfläche (...und das nicht erst vom Vortag). Wir waren vorher immer zufrieden, aber die Art & Weise der Antwort. Es kann in der besten Küche mal etwas "schief" laufen, aber wenn unser diskrete Hinweis so abgetan wird, machen wir eben öffentlich darauf aufmerksam.

Essen und Service waren sehr gut. Nur zu empfehlen.

Silvester war nicht so toll 🫣 Tischbelegung mit Wartezeit/ Getränke kamen relativ zügig - aber dafür fast nur einmalig / Essen kam dann nach 2 Stunden 👀👀👀👀 und war nicht vollständig. Aber wie immer lecker. 👍 Als Entschädigung gab es reichlich Ouzo. Insgesamt hat dass jegliche weitere Planung zur Silvester zur Nichte gemacht🫣

Wir waren am 2. Weihnachts Feiertag zum Essen im Restaurant, die Bedienung war wie immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Was uns allerdings sehr verwundert hat, war die „Feiertagsgebühr“ ,von 2,-€ pro Person welche auf unserer Rechnung mit diverses deklariert war und man uns vom Chef auf Nachfrage , so erklärt hatte. Es war nirgends explizit ausgewiesen, das „ Feiertagsgebühr“ pro Person berechnet wir, was insofern nicht korrekt dem Gast gegenüber ist, sowie noch nirgends und auch von anderen im Bekanntenkreis jemanden bekannt ist. Die Speisekarte war übrigens schon preislich auf das neue Jahr 2024 umgestellt, das kann auch kein Argument gewesen sein.

Euch Allen ein frohes Fest und einen guten Rutsch nach 2024. Unser erster Besuch war sehr angenehm und wir hatten mit der Familie einen schönen Abend. Es war sehr voll am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag und das Personal war am Limit , meisterte die Situation aber gut👍Bei meinem Gericht (Nr.71) waren die Pommes lauwarm und irgendwie wie bei McDonalds, Gyros war wenig und Durchschnitt, Biftiki und Soulflaki sehr gut.Zu wenig Zwiebeln & Tzaziki . Für mich persönlich waren da 22,90-€ zu teuer ❗Ambiente war klasse und wir hatten einen schönen Abend.

Das Ellinikon liegt mit dem PKW sehr gut erreichbar an einer recht großen Kreuzung an der B236 in Schwerte nahe der Ruhr. Gerade am Abend macht das Restaurant mit seiner äußeren Beleuchtung einen sehr ansprechenden und einladenden Eindruck. Parkplätze sind auf dem Restauranteigenen Hof ausreichend vorhanden (zumindest wenn man frühzeitig dort ist, so wie wir). Je später der Abend, desto weniger ausreichend werden die Parkplätze - was aber kein Kritikpunkt am Restaurant sein soll. Spricht lediglich dafür, dass das Restaurant sehr gut besucht ist und zu irgendeinem Zeitpunkt wird dann jeder Parkplatz mal zu klein. Die Einrichtung ist ebenfalls ansprechend modern und nicht so "altbacken griechisch rustikal" mit weißen Säulen oder ähnlichem, wie man es ganz gerne mal in den üblichen "Grillrestaurants Saloniki / Akropolis / und Co." vorfindet. Das Personal war sehr nett, zuvorkommend und sehr gut gelaunt. Auch beim bedienen und auch noch bei voller werdenden Tischen. Man wurde auch nicht vergessen, sondern regelmäßig gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Die Preise sind völlig ok und nicht geschaffte Portionen werden gerne zum mitnehmen verpackt. Das Essen war im Ganzen sehr lecker. Ich hatte einen Grillteller, bei dem am Ende zwar ein Stück Fleisch relativ zäh war, aber der Rest umso leckerer. Kleine Ausrutscher können auch in der besten Küche mal passieren. Trotz hohem Andrang wird man am Ende auch nicht genötigt den Tisch für andere wieder frei zu geben, was in anderen Restaurants ja partiell gerne mal so gehandhabt wird, um produktiver zu arbeiten. Alles in Allem kann ich sagen, dass wir einen gelungenen Abend hatten, ich das Ellinikon auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen kann und auch selbst vermutlich nicht zum letzten Mal dort gewesen bin. Weiter so....

Wie waren heute das erste Mal dort zum Essen. Anders als in anderen Rezensionen beschrieben, wurden wir freundlich empfangen und auch der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen hat allen gut geschmeckt die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend. Die Atmosphäre würde ich als eher angenehm neutral bezeichnen. Jedenfalls hat man nicht den typischen Eindruck eines griechischen Lokals.

"In Schwerte ist ja nichts los", sagen Sie vielleicht? Doch Obacht! Das stimmt so nicht! Inmitten der Idylle dieser Stadt schlummert ein kulinarisches Juwel - das "Ellinikon"! Auf griechisch gastfreundliche Grüsse wurden wir vom Chef direkt per Handschlag begrüsst. Reservation vorher ist unbedingt empfohlen, denn der Laden platzt zurecht aus allen Nähten! :) Ich hatte das Gyros mit Pommes und Tzaziki, als Vorspeise für mich und den Tisch mit Freunden das Weissbrot mit Tzaziki. Man bot uns sogar an, mehr Brot herbeizubringen. Mir hat es ganz hervorragend geschmeckt. Aus der Schweiz kommend kann man nach tollem Essen und freundlicher Gastwirtschaft wie hier im "Ellinikon" in der Schweiz lange suchen. Als ich bezahlen wollte, konnte meine Kreditkarte leider nicht entgegengenommen werden. Es gehen nur ec-Karten. Da würde ich mir wünschen, dass auch die gängigen Kreditkarten VISA und / oder MasterCard akzeptiert würden, grad wenn die Rechnung ein bisschen höher ausfällt. Meinetwegen gerne mit Unterlimit. Ich komme bei meinem nächsten Deutschlandbesuch gerne wieder. :)

Ein schönes Ambiente zum guten Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Empfehlung: Lammkoteletts oder Lammhaxe Allerdings sind fast alle Gerichte sehr gut zubereitet. Nette Bedienung

Modernes griechisches Restaurant. Wir saßen im Terrassenbereich es war sehr angenehm. Die vorspeisenplatte für zwei Personen war in Ordnung. Das hauptgericht eine Platte für 2 Personen war soweit in Ordnung aber man sollte drauf achten das nicht bei 2 Fille Steaks Sehnen drin sind. Aber alles in allem ein nettes Lokal.

Wir haben dort mit ca 25 Gästen gefeiert. Wir wurden freundlich und schnell bedient. Das Essen wurde schnell serviert und es hat allen geschmeckt. Allerdings ist die Karte sehr fleisch- und fischlastig. Der vegetarische Gast war unproblematisch und hatte sich zwei Vorspeisen bestellt. Auch das Dessert hat allen geschmeckt.

Genügend Parkplätze, saubere Toiletten, gutes Essen, etwas zu laut

Wir haben einen Bauernsalat gegessen viel zu klein und zu teuer war vielleicht 1 Tomate bißchen grünen und ein paar gurken Scheiben 3 kleine Stücke Schafskäse das warst für 12,50€ viel zu teuer und einfach gemacht ach ich habe noch 2 Oliven vergessen bei dem Preis erwarte ich etwas anderes bei der Kritik hat der Kellner gesagt so bleibt auch nicht über.

Ein schöner Abend, mit guten Gastgebern. Das Essen war lecker, die Preise normal und angemessen. Wir kommen wieder.😁
