Excellent! We've been here for dinner several times. It's always been delicious, and there are plenty of gluten-free options. The service and the food have always been consistently outstanding. We love coming back.

The food was average. The ambiance is appealing. However, it's rather cramped and very noisy when the restaurant is full. It was very busy that evening, so we felt rushed rather than well served. Overall: 3 out of 5 stars.

The food was very good. The service was very poor overall. In addition, alcohol was spilled on my phone, and there wasn't even an apology – on the contrary, the situation was completely ignored. This is absolutely unacceptable to me!

On November 13, 2025, we held our year-end celebration at Elia for the second year in a row, and once again we were more than thrilled. The newly renovated premises are very stylish and truly inviting. The newly created menu is fantastic, and every guest should find something to enjoy. A huge compliment to the kitchen, which not only managed to serve 22 people simultaneously but also found the time and care to cater to individual requests. Furthermore, the service deserves mention; it was not only attentive but also always found time for a bit of fun, even amidst the hectic restaurant atmosphere. Elia is a restaurant where you can enjoy a refined meal in a very stylish setting, but above all, where you are treated as a valued and respected guest. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We were invited to a birthday party. The food itself was okay, however, my husband's (and other guests') appetizer arrived shortly after the main course. The waiter also couldn't remember which of the two and a half tables had ordered what. This made it very chaotic and noisy in the adjoining room. All in all, a restaurant that definitely has potential.

We were there on Sunday afternoon while visiting Kempten. A visit to Elia is a must for us when we're in Kempten. The atmosphere is cozy, and there's plenty of seating (two rooms plus a beer garden in the summer). The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. The food is always excellent, consistently high quality. For example, we had the grilled baby calamari, which was delicious. We'll be back next time we're in Kempten. Thanks to the entire Elia team. Keep up the good work.

During our stay at the Bayrischer Hof, we ordered takeout twice. Both times, the food was truly amazing! Fresh, absolutely delicious, and the portions were truly generous. I haven't experienced such good service (we even borrowed cutlery) in a long time! Incredibly friendly, accommodating, and not at all pushy! If we're ever in Kempten again, we'll definitely be back at Elia ❤️

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere may be cozy, and the people seem to be genuinely Greek-speaking, but the food is far from authentically Greek. Gyros in Metaxa sauce and topped with cheese, really? We had meze and a souvlaki, the latter of which was edible... The feta cream was bland and flavorless, the melitzanosalata was perhaps sitting next to an eggplant, and the beetroot cheese was okay, but boring. What's really bad, though, is that the allergens and additives are unreliable (since when does eggplant cream contain milk?). If you really want Greek food, you'll probably have to go elsewhere. If you want meat, you'll be well served here...

I visit Elia regularly and am completely satisfied every time. The service is always very friendly and attentive, and you immediately feel welcome. The food is impressive due to its very high quality – I particularly recommend the 61st gyro with calamari (lunch menu 117), which is excellently prepared. It's a wonderful place to linger, both in the comfortably furnished interior and in the beautiful beer garden when the weather is nice. Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend Elia to anyone who enjoys excellent Greek cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere.

Very good food, with friendly waiters and a really nice atmosphere. There's really nothing to criticize. I had a filet platter once and a fish platter yesterday. It tasted very good, but unfortunately, my €26 meal only came with spinach as a side dish, and it simply didn't have enough carbohydrates to fill you up. I think that at prices like that, you could just add a small bread basket, and then customers would go home 100% full and happy. Friends of mine ordered pita, but without it, I would have still been hungry for €30 with a drink. Still, a decent restaurant, but perhaps there's still something that could be improved.

An insider tip in Kempten! From the outside, you'd never guess that this is a very good Greek restaurant with a beautiful beer garden. A little oasis in the middle of town. The food was consistently very good – fresh, delicious, and lovingly prepared, served by extremely friendly, attentive staff. The price is absolutely reasonable for the quality you get. Only the parking situation is a bit tricky, as parking spaces are unfortunately scarce. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth a visit: definitely recommend it!

We were really impressed on previous visits – the food was excellent back then! Unfortunately, our last visit was completely different, and we left very disappointed. For almost €30, we got a meal that absolutely didn't justify the price: just three small pieces of meat, fries that were obviously fried in the same oil as fish, and they weren't particularly tasty, as they tasted like fish. The portion seemed uninspired – a few fries on the plate, the rest simply thrown in a small bowl. Overall, the value for money was poor, and the quality has deteriorated significantly compared to the early days. Unfortunately, this was our last visit – a real shame, but never again.

Gyros are good, they may not be very good at shrimp, but definitely try the liver.

We reserved the separate room for our wedding reception over half a year ago. A week before, I checked again to see if we could decorate the room beforehand, bring the cake there beforehand, etc. – everything was fine. On the day of the wedding, we learned that the room had been given to another party because there were five more people, and that would generate more profit. We weren't informed beforehand; we found out when we arrived! We sat outside in the rain!! That's not what you want to hear on your wedding day. An absolute no-go and not recommended to anyone. The food is good, but the service is completely awful and unfortunately, it doesn't make it any better...

A real insider tip in the Bayerischer Hof in Kempten! It's barely noticeable from the outside – you wouldn't suspect that such a good Greek restaurant is hidden in this building. And the beautiful, hidden beer garden isn't visible at all from the street – yet it truly is a little oasis in the middle of the city. The food was consistently very good – from the appetizers to the main courses and dessert. Everything was fresh, delicious, and lovingly prepared. The service was friendly, attentive, and competent. The price is absolutely reasonable for the quality you get. The only downside: Parking is difficult, and unfortunately, parking spaces are very limited. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth a visit. My recommendation was a complete success – I'd be happy to come back. I definitely recommend it!

A very delicious Greek restaurant with a good vegetarian selection and a cozy atmosphere. We started with a mixed appetizer platter. Many of the mezze were vegetarian, including tzatziki, eggplant dip, spicy cheese dip, lentil salad, giant beans, and more. Some of them were even vegan. For main courses, there were three vegetarian dishes to choose from; I had the briam with feta. All the dishes were delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. The atmosphere of the restaurant is both modern and rustic; you feel at home. The service is also excellent, attentive, and friendly. I also liked the selection of drinks. They also offer free ouzo to start and finish the meal. Overall, I thought the experience at Restaurant Elia was great and I highly recommend it.

We've been stopping at the Bayrischer Hof for several years now. The Elia restaurant, which has been in operation for three years, is absolutely worth a visit. Today we had the surf & turf, and I have to say it was the best interpretation of surf & turf I've ever eaten. Perfect service and friendliness rounded off the evening. ** Two hours of vacation - right in Kempten! ** As soon as you walk in, you're greeted in Greek – a definite plus for me: almost the entire staff speaks Greek! You sit down and immediately feel like you're on vacation in the large outdoor dining area! You're greeted with a Greek specialty from the house – ouzo! Service is fast, the food is excellent. The appetizers are especially amazing! But basically everything – no matter what you choose – is excellent! All in all, we love coming here and spending a two-hour vacation in "little Bavarian Greece"!

Going to Dimi has now become our weekly family ritual. Despite the full tables, you always get a seat quickly, the service is courteous and highly professional, and the food is first-class. For me and the family, we can't imagine life without it.

Perhaps the best Greek restaurant in the area. Even though the garden was full, everything went smoothly. I had dinner at this Greek hotel with my colleagues while my stay at Kempten and this is indeed one of the nicest one there. The location is super adjacent to a river and near to the city centre and by the main road. They have a beer harden where one can see so many colourful trees in the spring and enjoy their drinks with snacks with their loved ones. The ambience to me was very pleasing. We had snacks on the garden and dinner inside their restaurant. We ordered a famous sea food platter where there was variety of fishes, lobsters and veg snacks as well. I have also ordered dorada fish and the famous Greek zucchini balls which were both quite delicious. Only thing is they don’t have much variety in the non alcoholic drinks range. The inside ambience of the restaurant was also cosy and quite neat and clean. The service was prompt and behaviour of the staff members was quite warm.

Pleasant informal atmosphere with Greek character

If you want a quick breakfast, this is the place for you. Menus are covered in grease, the welcoming ouzo is slammed onto the table so that it spills over, crumbs and stains on the chairs, you barely have time to read the cat before you're pressured into ordering. Time is money in its purest form. They even cleared parts of our plates away, even though someone was still eating. The staff are either untrained or simply arrogant. The prices are exorbitant for Kempten and suspiciously big city. Overall, the way guests are treated here is a disgrace. At least the food is good, but nothing more.

It's been a long time since I've eaten such delicious Greek food without so many fries. I thought it was excellent. Most restaurants load up your plate with fries, so that's a 5 for the variety of dishes and side dishes (rice with vegetables, etc.). It's different from the others, which makes it enjoyable.

We ate here for Mother's Day. I made a reservation in advance. We got a seat quickly. The surroundings are fantastic, with a great atmosphere. Since it was my first time here, I couldn't find the parking lot at first. I parked in the hotel's parking spaces. This was fine. There's no clear signage here. We had a starter and main course. The wait for the starter was fine. I thought the wait for the main course was too long. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so I didn't understand the long waits. When we finally got the food, it was only lukewarm. The fries weren't cooked through, but the liver was piping hot. We then had to wait even longer before we could pay. So I can understand why you can spend an average of two hours here. The weather was nice, though, and we were able to relax. If you want a quick bite to eat, you should go somewhere else.

Highly recommended. There's plenty of parking in the courtyard. The staff is incredibly attentive. The food is quick and tastes excellent. Absolutely outstanding value for money. I would have perhaps preferred a slice more feta cheese in the beetroot salad, but that would be nitpicking.

Everything is just great!!!!!! we had various starters. Grilled pepperoni, zatziki, fried zucchini and eggplant, garlic bread gratinated with cheese, octopus. Main course gyros with calamari. Everything was very delicately and deliciously prepared. Poli oreo. The main course was almost impossible to finish. The portions are quite large and the price is great. We'll definitely come back. Best “Greek” we know of in and around KE. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Epharisto poli. The only small drawback is that there could be a little more light. The lamps on the tables are nice and stylish, but not really bright. There was no overhead lighting where we sat.

We were at Elia for the third time and were shocked at how this restaurant has changed. The entrance area was full of guests waiting for a table, with hectic waiters snaking through and sometimes forcing Ouzou on them. We tried several times to say that we had reserved a table, but no response. At some point we were quickly led to a table, two menus were put down and a request was thrown in. It was incredibly loud due to the many guests and the music, entertainment was hardly possible. The quality has deteriorated, the salad probably comes from a bag, fries and tzatziki are better. The wait wasn't long, but the starters were served with the main courses. The waiters did their best, the decor is now really chic, but the whole thing still felt like mass processing, which is a shame.

Absolutely, you have to go there. The staff exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty.

Four of us spontaneously had dinner there today. First of all, I would like to mention the above-average friendly and fast service and welcome. This is no longer a given these days. We had four different meals, all of which came at the same time and were consistently delicious. The dessert was also very tasty. The portions were more than sufficient. Keep it up. The ambience is not that of a classic Greek, but rather the cosiness and rusticity of the Bavarian court has been preserved. Especially in this environment, the warmth and hospitality of the staff is a very fitting point. The food tastes perfect and the selection is perfect. The portion size is also more than sufficient. An experience to stay and eat there. Mega delicious, there were six of us and we ate everything from the menu. You really couldn't say which tasted best. The family team, boss and Coucins were just great, very friendly with funny sayings at the start. You feel very welcome and it wasn't the last time we were there.🥂🙂🫶

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The background noise was very loud (music and people) and it was not possible to have a relaxed meal. The table was so close to the neighboring table that you could only get through from the side and almost knocked over the glasses. The ambience was non-Greek, the lamp on our table was totally scratched and the gold was peeling off. Not nice to look at. The fries were delicious and so were our starters, but the gyro tasted like it was cooked. We know it from other Greeks when it is fried a little crispy. Unfortunately the salad wasn't tasty at all. The dressing was boring with vinegar oil. We would have liked to order a second drink, but despite holding up our hands several times, no one came, so we decided to leave. But this wasn't that easy because no one was interested, we had to wait a long time until someone finally came to collect. Unfortunately we won't be coming anymore.

Currently our favorite restaurant in Kempten. Great food and service. And most importantly: super child-friendly. Keep it up, we look forward to next time :)

Great, slightly higher-priced restaurant with a nice, pleasant atmosphere, fast and friendly service and delicious food (sometimes too greasy for some, but it's Greek food). Highly recommend the feta with honey and figs. If you want to eat there on a Friday evening or at the weekend, be sure to make a reservation ;-) Points are deducted for the unclear, confusing website, where the Elia restaurant appears to be attached to the hotel. The Elia restaurant is in the Bayr building. Hofs, however, is independent and has nothing to do with the hotel itself. ATTENTION: If you are on the Bavarian homepage. If you order a voucher from Hof, it can NOT be redeemed in the Elia Restaurant -> This can only be redeemed according to the information provided by the restaurant staff for the hotel regarding room or breakfast. So if you want a restaurant voucher from Elia, you should contact the restaurant directly... Good to know... In my case, unfortunately, you only found out later :-(

An absolute delight! We visit this wonderful Greek restaurant very often and are thrilled. The food is excellent - authentic, fresh and made with a lot of love. The service is extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is modern but cozy. We can highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back regularly

Cozy restaurant with very tasty Greek cuisine. We ordered Greek tapas and were completely satisfied and totally full. The service was nice and very quick considering the number of guests there at the time. You can sit inside and outside. The “beer garden” is beautifully designed and invites you to sit for longer. A very disorganized restaurant. We had to wait half an hour even though we had a reservation and for this reason we couldn't even order dessert because they said the kitchen was now closed. We weren't even asked shortly beforehand if we wanted to order anything else because we got our food very late due to their disorganized behavior. Half an hour before closing time we were cashed in and indirectly thrown out. I really don't recommend it was very disappointing.

I don't really like giving negative reviews... but we were expecting good food and unfortunately we weren't satisfied at all. Maybe it was because it was New Year's Eve and there was a lot going on. We ordered 1 fish platter for 3 people and 1 meat platter for 1 person to be picked up by phone. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio was not appropriate... the table top for 3 people didn't even include the amount for 2 people. Fish was tough and dry. Unfortunately, meat also had to be dried. The positive thing is that it was prepared quickly and there was one salad per person. And the staff on the phone and on site were super nice and friendly. But we would like to give 2nd chance and eat here again on a regular day, maybe it will be better.

The former hotel restaurant in the Bayerischer Hof became the Greek restaurant Elia. The food is very good, the waiters are friendly and it is very clean there. In summer the beer garden is bursting at the seams. No wonder given the beautiful atmosphere and the good quality!
