I was asked to leave a review. The ambiance is really nice and the food tasted good. But the price-performance ratio is unacceptable. I actually wanted to eat there myself, but when I saw the picture, I was completely put off. Previous review: Very tasty. The soup was delicious. The food was ready quite quickly. A bit pricey, but acceptable for the quality. We will definitely come again.

It's not their fault!!! When the Roosters are playing at the ice rink, there's absolutely no parking available, not in the small lot, not in the large lot, not anywhere nearby. We then canceled on-site, via cell phone. Check the Iserlohn Roosters' schedule before you make a reservation!

We had barely sat down when we were asked to move – supposedly because of a reservation, but the table remained empty all evening and was still empty when we left the restaurant. Embarrassing and unprofessional. The food? Visually appealing, but a complete flop. Everything was bland, uninspired, and very dry overall. The steak itself was cooked to perfection, I must commend it. The sauce, however, was reminiscent of a ready-made sauce. No finesse, no spark of passion. The service was attentive and friendly. I've been involved in the restaurant industry for over three decades, experiencing everything from fast-food joints to Michelin-starred establishments. There's definitely room for improvement here. In short: All show, no substance. A restaurant with potential that unfortunately doesn't live up to it. The prices are simply exorbitant for what's offered. I'm happy to pay a fair price, but this place simply doesn't deliver. **Would I return? No. Would I recommend it? Sadly, no.**

A very beautiful ambiance has been created here, with lovingly selected accessories, good furniture, and comfortable armchairs. The service was good, attentive, friendly, and fun. The food—as always at El Torro—was excellent! A definite recommendation in Iserlohn!

The restaurant is beautifully located, directly on the Seilersee. The renovations have succeeded in creating a relatively pleasant ambiance. The service was rather average. Of the eight people, six weren't entirely satisfied with the food; some of it was tough, cold, or incomplete. All in all, there's still plenty of room for improvement for a steakhouse, hence only 3 stars. I would recommend the staff pay a little more attention and listen to guests' comments. I'll try again next summer; everyone gets a second chance.

Service was good and fast, a bit too annoying, the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. The grilled platter had been much better, and the other five people we were dining with agreed. Change the chef and the food would be better. We were so looking forward to it, and then this happened. There were a total of seven people today. Everyone said they'd come once and no more. However, the noise level is very high, and it's very bad when a comfortable table for four is turned into an uncomfortable table for five, with the knees of the people sitting next to each other constantly touching, which is very disturbing.

Four of us went out to eat. It was very disappointing. We returned most of all four dishes. The rump steak was 50% sinew-covered, and the fries were soggy. Disappointing for a steakhouse.

The new steakhouse in Iserlohn is a real eye-catcher. The food is also very good, and the service is super friendly. While it's pricey, it's worth a visit and a try.

The two of us arrived for a test meal with high expectations for a later visit with our "food club," and these expectations were met in every way! Excellent food, a wonderful, fresh salad buffet with little extras. For example, chopped garlic in oil, olives, and much more. Very friendly staff! And even though it was very busy, we both received our orders quickly. The ambiance was fantastic! High-quality seating. Tasteful interior. The only minor drawback in the section where we were seated was the high level of background noise. We'll be back in two weeks with 11 people and are excited to see if we can repeat this fantastic experience. See you soon!

Great salad buffet. A 0.2 Pepsi in a glass costs €3.40! Small portions, tastes good, but expensive. The table wobbled, but the overall atmosphere was stylish.

Unfortunately, I have to offer some serious criticism of El Toro today. We were a group of 12 guests, and we were assigned a table in front of the pavilion. I've known El Toro for 40 years now, and I have to say I've never been so disappointed. The new premises are very nice—there's nothing to criticize! However, the food and service left a lot to be desired... We waited 1.5 hours for our food. On the steak plate we ordered "medium," 2 of the 3 pieces of meat were overcooked—that shouldn't happen in a steakhouse... The salad bar wasn't replenished—that should be a simple, manageable task. ... and the "ladies' side" of our table was simply ignored by the waiter, and drinks were only refilled after a clear request. Furthermore, the rather extensive menu only offers one dish for vegetarians—even in a "meat-heavy" restaurant, there should be more to offer these days. We were also bothered by the excessively loud background music, which, despite our repeated requests, could not be turned down or turned off. I go to a restaurant to chat with my friends, not to an Eros Ramazzotti concert... It's a shame, we'll be avoiding El Toro for the foreseeable future – perhaps the issues mentioned will improve in the future.

Best steakhouse in town (at least)!

The food was fantastic and the ambiance an experience! Despite the poor reviews, we wanted to see for ourselves. We can't confirm this. Perhaps the restaurant has been so well-received after a long, successful (necessary) renovation, so many guests want to get to know it like we did, which is why there are waits, especially for dinner. We were there at 3:30 p.m. (I highly recommend it). The food arrived quickly, without any waiting time, and the meat was grilled to perfection, exactly as we requested. All the side dishes and the salad buffet were fresh and very well prepared. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The value for money is reasonable and the quality is high. The rooms are exceptionally tasteful and elaborate, down to the last detail. No expense has been spared. We would be happy if there were such a good restaurant near us and would gladly return.

Very beautiful location on the Seilersee with an outdoor terrace. The interior also has a tasteful ambiance. The service staff was friendly but didn't ask how we wanted our meat prepared. Went there again yesterday with friends. My husband had the mixed grill and I had the Cordon Bleu. The croquettes were a bit soft but tasty. The ready-made Béarnaise sauce was also delicious. The salad buffet is great. And the service was smooth and very friendly. However, the very loud atmosphere was a bit of a distraction. It was difficult to have a conversation. Otherwise, everything was great.

El Toro's new location is impressive and lavishly designed, but more show than substance. The food and service leave a lot to be desired. -Food- We ordered the schnitzel and salmon fillet. The schnitzel was dry and tasted poorly, and the side fries were limp and tasted old. Like expired frozen fries. You have to say, the snack bar on the corner tasted better. The salmon fillet was very bland and not well-seasoned with the spinach. Unfortunately, some people had stomachaches after their visit to El Toro, or their visit ended directly in the bathroom. Very disappointing. -Service- At first, you felt welcome and were greeted pleasantly. However, you get the feeling that the staff are very stressed and unfriendly. This included incorrectly delivered orders and even errors in the menu, which we were then accused of not having ordered what was on the menu. Very borderline. -Atmosphere- As mentioned above, the venue is very opulent, but there is a clear structural flaw in the large room with the glass dome above. There is no awning to prevent the sun from shining directly onto the entire table and the people. Especially in hot and sunny weather, this is an absolute killer if you're sitting in a corner where the sun is shining.

The ambience is a full 10, and that's where it ends. I'm appalled by the food. I had the Eltoro skewer, which consisted of three very small pieces of meat with a piece of onion and pepper in between, two spoonfuls of chopped onions on the plate, and fries and some salad from the buffet. A street food stand would have been better. The whole thing costs 27 euros, plus drinks, of course. I can only recommend the owner to work on this, otherwise another nice restaurant will soon be empty.

The restaurant is beautifully situated on Seilersee. Its ambiance is fantastic, and the terrace is large. The restaurant is divided into several sections. It's beautifully done! Even the large pavilion offers plenty of space for larger events. The food was consistently good, and the staff was very friendly. The parking lot is still being set up; for now, it's public. Highly recommended!

We were there for the first time on August 20th, my birthday present. A disaster. My grilled meat was inedible, the meat so tough you could only tear it apart. We've been visiting El Toro for decades and have always been delighted. Honestly, I can't remember being disappointed once in the last 25 years. About our visit: We were greeted very warmly by Ilir and his brother Genc. Wait time for a table: less than 30 seconds. Ordered drinks after 5 minutes and delivered after 15 minutes. So: top-notch, as always. Ordered food promptly, but the wait here was a bit longer: 30 minutes. With the beer on tap, however, it wasn't a problem. The quality of the steaks and side dishes: also top-notch, as always. Drinks ordered during the meal were also delivered within minutes. Our waiter, Buti, was amazing: friendly, quick, and very accommodating. And that was on a Saturday evening with perfect weather, the terrace was completely booked, and a party with 70 guests was taking place in the hall next door! Conclusion: Anyone who renovates the lakeside house so impressively and turns it into a new culinary magnet in Iserlohn deserves respect. In our opinion, a more than successful evening! El Toro - Where is the cozy restaurant from the past? We ate there the other day. It was during the week. We didn't have a reservation. After looking outside, a waiter came over and asked us if we had a reservation. We said no. He said in a ridiculous tone, "It's always full here. Hmm, do you have any space in the restaurant?" Yes, it worked. After the waiter came over after 10 minutes, we were able to order drinks. They arrived promptly. Our orders were taken. The food arrived after just 55 minutes. This is a no-go. The taste was average. For almost €33 for a steak plate (very little meat), you can expect more. The bottom line is: we probably won't be coming back a second time.

The steak was dry as hell and chewed like that rubbery grilled cheese from Lidl. The staff are very slow and you have to wait 30 minutes for someone to come. I've been sitting here since 6 p.m., it's 7.45 p.m. and I'm still here. It's always good that you only have to wait half an hour when you're eating a steak that's as dry as a desert. The ambience is very nice, it's nicely decorated and the outside lighting offers a great view of the nature.

Great ambiance and a wonderful outdoor terrace right by the lake. However, we weren't satisfied with the food for the second time. On our first visit, we had the El Toro steak plate. We ordered the meat medium. All the pieces were cooked well, all three steaks tasted identical, and unfortunately, you had to search for the individual flavor. We complained about this, and I got a new plate. At least the steaks were medium. As compensation, all four of us got the pancake. That wasn't a highlight either. I give everyone a second chance, so we went back. This time, I had a tomato soup starter that tasted more like tomato paste than a good tomato soup. For the main course, I had the 200g medium fillet steak with fries and a corn on the cob. What can I say, the corn on the cob tasted very burnt, and the €5.50 portion of fries wouldn't have even fed a child. Luckily, I didn't have to pay for this mini-portion. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of room for improvement here.

The high noise level was more reminiscent of a cafeteria and made it difficult to enjoy a relaxed meal – especially in a restaurant, you want a quieter atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our impression was that the restaurant was perhaps too large. Less might have been more here. The value for money also didn't convince us. It's a shame – because the potential is definitely there.

Drinks were quickly taken. But then? Nothing... 20 minute wait for our beers... Well, we're clever and as soon as the first beers arrived, we ordered the next ones straight away... Haha, that seemed to go down well... The head waiter saw that there was money to be made from us. The steaks arrived. About 40 minutes later... Which is OK too... The table next to us was pissed off... They were already sitting there and hadn't gotten anything. In our endless empathy, we wanted to hand over our steaks, but well, eat and be eaten. Steaks, top notch... The fillet was tender as butter!! But €5.50 for a portion of fries that doesn't even fill my 3-year-old niece? And then the biggest one: Some people would call it impudence, I call it clumsy. For a portion of fries that costs €5.50, then they charge €1.20 for mayo. We still had a very nice evening... The restaurant already had a beautiful ambiance at its old location, and after moving to the new location, it's become truly impressively beautiful! BUT: The noise level is incredibly high. If you're familiar with Café del Sol, you know how loud it is when it's busy. Imagine it being at least twice as loud now!!! On top of that, the food tastes good, but the kitchen staff probably have higher standards for themselves. The biggest drawback, however, is the noise level. But in the summer, you can probably snag a spot outside, where you can definitely have a conversation without having to shout at each other.

We were having coffee on the terrace...there was hardly any cake selection, not even a cookie with the coffee...we wanted to have a nice chat, and then the terrace was cleaned with a leaf vacuum. That was the end of the coziness. Since there were so many guests, it was very unpleasant for everyone.

The ambiance is truly beautiful and, by Iserlohn standards, something special. Unfortunately, the selection of dishes, the presentation, and the preparation are neither modern nor surprising. The menu seems to date back to the 80s. It's a shame. Unfortunately, it's not big-city quality... But the prices make up for it.

The owners have transformed a historic building, which had unfortunately fallen into ruin in recent years, into one of Iserlohn's most beautiful restaurants—if not the most beautiful. Elegant, high-quality furnishings with a cozy terrace and a fantastic view of the "beautiful" part of Seilersee. And the food selection remains—as one would expect from El Toro—magnificent and high-quality. A tremendous asset to Iserlohn and South Westphalia!

There were two of us there. I ordered tomato soup and feta cheese, my son a mixed grill and a bottle of water. Later, my son had dessert, and I had two coffees. We had to pay €75, which was disproportionate to the price. The feta cheese was overseasoned and meager, the tomato soup was bland and had far too much cream. The bacon in the mixed grill was black and the meat was dry, and the rice was tasteless. It wasn't well served either. Conclusion: I won't be eating there again.

We wanted to treat ourselves – 4 people, steak night deluxe. What we got was a culinary trauma. The steaks arrived lukewarm, tough as shoe soles, with the charm of a microwave. Ordered medium – served overcooked. But that was just the beginning. From the very first bite, something tasted "off," but we thought: It'll be okay... Oh well. 3 hours later: – One person over the toilet bowl – Two with stomach cramps – And me? I got to experience both at once. The crowning glory: The herb butter – for a hefty extra €4 – was probably the real culprit. It tasted somewhere between rancid and refrigerator ice cream, with the texture of wallpaper paste. Total bill: over €200. What's left? A night of suffering, an empty wallet, and the firm promise: Never again!

The ambiance and location were top-notch! The rest was disastrous! I hadn't expected this. No comparison to the old "El Toro." Someone obviously got carried away. How can anyone think they can successfully run a restaurant of this size with so few and—how should I say it without being offensive—completely unfit staff? Unfortunately, the food was also simply awful! No comparison to the old days. We definitely won't be coming back!

Very tasty food, the beef stroganoff sauce was too salty (reheated or boiled too often), which is why we only gave it 4 stars. The ambiance was excellent and relaxing with a view of Lake Seilersee. I think the one-hour wait for the food is too long. Too bad... But otherwise, highly recommended. Will try it again.

Five of us ordered fillets. Unfortunately, they didn't order the medium rare we requested. Upon request, they put it back on the grill. It was really good when we cooked the leftovers the next morning.

Yes, it's simply a shame. The ambiance and location are top-notch. The food and the service provided by the staff were a bit of a flop. When we complained that the fries were too greasy and not crispy, they simply replied that they were cold anyway... a lack of sensitivity... The meat was also no good after waiting for over an hour. When we ordered, they asked for the degree of doneness, but when the food arrived, it didn't matter. The steaks all came out the same. That way, you can save yourself the trouble of asking.

The location and the restaurant are beautifully designed and very well situated. Unfortunately, I can only say negative things about the food, as the meat was too dry and the rest of the food simply didn't taste good. The staff are completely uncoordinated and completely overwhelmed by the entire store and the service. There's still a lot of room for improvement...

We ate there for the first time since moving to the new location. I'm absolutely thrilled. The ambiance is just right, no matter where you sit, the food is absolutely outstanding, and the service is seamless and there are no long waits. It's child- and dog-friendly, and you won't feel inconvenienced. I'd love to come back 👍🏻

Even from the outside, the new restaurant makes a great impression. Inside, we received a polite, professional, and warm welcome. The menu is clear, which I personally find very pleasant – quality counts over quantity. My steak was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and flavorful. The service was also consistently friendly and attentive. Value for money? Absolutely fair. It's definitely worth a visit – but don't forget to reserve a table, as it can fill up quickly. There's plenty of room, though, to feel comfortable. We'll definitely be back!
