El Torero in Walldorf

Great service, very friendly and motivated staff! The food is difficult to rate. On the one hand, very authentic and there is a lot to choose from... but on the other hand, in my opinion, the price-performance ratio wasn't really right. There were two of us. Just for the starter platter (photo) plus 2x wine and 1x juice we came to 60 euros! In Spain itself you would get starters, main courses with fish and meat, wine and water, and dessert for that price. We couldn't have a main course anymore because we wanted to stay under 100 euros. The starters still filled us up well, but we thought it was gross. It's also a shame that you really pay extra for every side dish and you don't even get the aioli or baguette for free. Warning: Everything is very VERY salty. Anyone who can't stand that is in the wrong place.

Nice place. Friendly staff, good food at absolutely fair conditions. A place outdoors or in a restaurant... simply cozy and beautiful... event celebrated on site, great organization, great atmosphere and MEGA food!

The dishes are delicious, but unfortunately they have now been adapted somewhat to German tastes, with a better ambience, furnishings, lighting... If it were "that!! Spanish shop" in the area👍🏼🚀, staff is super friendly and helpful, great... Unfortunately that has changed a bit... Nobody speaks Spanish there anymore, when ordering you have to say the numbers because they are your own Not knowing dishes when you name them as they are on the menu with their Spanish names, even more adaptation and loss of the former exclusively Spanish character, still very much adapted to the taste of Walldorf guests, e.g. Alioli... That's what that was for Restaurant is full to the hilt, but experience has shown that a restaurant like this loses guests in the long term if it loses its Spanish authenticity because of all the "adaptation", because there is enough of that... But yesterday everything was different, a nice surprise... Little one Tip, it's better to go out to eat early, when the chef is still using his full potential, because he can cook really well, than when 30 people are waiting for their food later and everything has to happen quickly, everything was prepared to perfection... And the one in Walldorf, such quality. Tip top

Spain as it lives and breathes, simply excellent food at a pleasant price. Good, friendly staff makes things smoother. Tip Reservation in advance would be advantageous.

The service was a disaster on Sunday evening. We have enjoyed going to El Torero for ages, inviting friends, reserving a table. Getting a menu was a struggle. We are not impatient or demanding. I finally had to go to the bar to place a drink order. Then the drinks sat on the bar for what felt like half an hour. When they finally came to the table, the beer was warm and stale, the ice cubes in the sangria glasses had melted. Things went better with the food. It was similar at the tables around us. There was food but no drinks. Waving hands, pleading calls, perplexed looks. I was really ashamed of my guests. At some point we no longer wanted to hear the many apologies from the two male service staff. I could clearly observe the scene from my seat. A little less blah blah with some guests, turning around, looking at the tables before disappearing again, ... everything would have gone more quickly. We would also have liked to help and help ourselves. Hopefully it will be better next time when the music is playing again and David has everything in view.

The restaurant offers very tasty food, super friendly service, fair prices. I just didn't like the ambience that much, on the one hand the location, on the other hand the facility itself - kind of like a pub.

Spanish restaurant in Walldorf in a residential area. Lots of parking spaces. Nice, shady terrace. Attentive, friendly service. Saturday evening: no chance of a table outside without a reservation. Filled to the last seat! We (4 adults) only ordered tapas (cold and warm). Very good quality, served with enough baguette bread in slices, with 4x 0.4 l drinks, 4 euros each (1x Diet Coke, 1x apple spritzer, 2x blackcurrant spritzer) for a total price of 90.60 euros. Not exactly cheap, but something special. Recommended!

I am very stunned! The price-performance ratio is more than okay for the quality of the food. Every dish was delicious and freshly prepared. A big plus is the playground outside, which came in very handy. This meant the children could play while we enjoyed our meal in peace. I also really appreciated the cleanliness of the place. Everything was spotlessly clean, which is very important for me in a restaurant. Overall, I can only recommend the restaurant! If you're looking for authentic Spanish cuisine in a kid-friendly environment, you've come to the right place. I'll definitely be back!

Full of cockroaches. They fall from the umbrellas, they walk on the tables, on your food, on your hair….don’t go there!!

Good food. However, they need more staff to handle customers during peak times. On our last visit, it took longer than expected.

The staff is super friendly and personable. When eating, I was a little disappointed that paella was only available if ordered in advance. Personally, the aioli had too little garlic and too much lemon for me. The food itself was good, but I found it a bit expensive. Since it echoed in the room, I found it quite tiring, especially since the neighboring tables were very loud and we couldn't have a conversation without shouting at each other.

Update April 2023 Since there was a change, the quality has declined significantly. The paella was overcooked/mushy and quite tasteless, a shame, the complaint was responded to in a rather disinterested manner, I miss Mike and his father. 2021 Nice family business, you are greeted warmly and are always welcome! It's a bit out of the way, so rather quiet. It's nice to sit outside in the summer. However, you should make a reservation because the restaurant is not that big but is busy. We were able to have pretty much all of the Spanish dishes, which always tasted very good. If you like paella you should order in advance or you just have to wait an hour because it is freshly prepared, it's worth it. Smokers should also be happy because they don't have to go outside in the cold season. In terms of price, you get a lot for your money. We'll definitely be back, maybe you can take a few pictures so you can see what you're writing 😀

Overall, unfortunately, it was just okay. Some tapas were really good, others were not edible. It's a shame because the service is great and the ambience is also convincing. Some of the sauces were very tasteless and rather watery. We can't judge what the main courses or other dishes are like, we only ate tapas.

Cozy restaurant, nice service around the corner from us. Feel free to go there. The food is delicious, service is friendly and good. Also somewhat inconspicuous from the outside, a bit hidden. However, it was so crowded on Whitsunday and the volume was enormous late in the evening. Really good freshly prepared food.

I used to enjoy visiting the restaurant because there is a children's playground right in front. With small children, parents can eat in peace without losing sight of the children. The meal itself wasn't a bad experience. No highlight in memory either. But this time I have to write. The service was poor and the quality of the food was unstable. We arrived at 8pm and ordered three tapas. Even though there weren't many guests, after half an hour we still hadn't been served. After asking, we were told that the order slips were at the bar and not taken to the kitchen. When the three tapas finally arrived, two of them were not what we ordered: crab croquettes instead of chicken croquettes and squid fried in oil instead of grilled squid! Since mistakes can happen to anyone, I didn't complain. Since I wanted chicken croquettes, I ordered more, only then the waitress said that they had run out. At the end there was still chicken croquettes on the bill! Now about the food itself: The tapas were okay, but a little more salt would have been better. The grilled vegetables were too salty and inedible. The Iberian steak was well cooked and tasted very good, but the rice side dish was overcooked, too mushy and too salty. The seafood noodles were cooked too soft, otherwise a matter of taste. Overall: One star for service and three stars for food, bringing it to two stars overall.

Very nice restaurant with South American flair. Great cocktails and delicious, diverse food. The service was more than super friendly and totally committed. I don't know when we were last pampered like this. It was a perfect match. Only recommended. The restaurant is located directly on Heidelberg's pedestrian zone in the old town. Ideal for anyone who wants to stroll or have a drink afterwards. Parking garages nearby.

Leider muss ich einen Punkt vergeben, selbst diesen gebe ich nicht freiwillig. Wir geniessen häufig die spanische Küche, aber so etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt, egal wo und was wir aßen. Verschiedene Tappas wurden bestellt und es dauerte keine 10 Minuten und die komplette Bestellung stand auf dem Tisch. Wie soll das bei frisch zubereitetem Essen möglich sein!? Alles schwamm im Fett, alles war ungewürzt, die "frittierten" Hähnchenflügel sahen aus wie gekocht und schmeckten auch und wie ein gekochtes Suppenhuhn. Alles schmeckte gleich. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass das Zeug vorgekocht war und zum Erwärmen wieder in die Fritteuse kam. Schade um das ausgegebene Geld. Nach dieser Erfahrung ist es für uns unerklärlich, woher die positiven Bewertungen kommen.

We were greeted very nicely - but then we forgot to take our order. The food was delicious and the new operator simply uses fresh products! I tried a few things - everything tasted beautifully prepared, from the sauces to the main courses to the desserts. Clear recommendation.

War komplett ausgebucht, alles belegt. Wir waren zu Viert. Service hat alles gepasst. Hatten diverse Tapas und einen Hauptgang. Dazu Getränke, Weine, etc. Die Tapas waren o.k. Hab ich aber zum Teil auch schon besser gegessen. Die Hauptspeisen waren durchweg alle sehr gut. Die offenen Weine waren "o.k.", aber da bin ich sehr kritisch. Der Masse werden sie schmecken.

Best Spanish in Walldorf, great Tapas and amazing main courses🙏

Wir haben erstmals Tapas gegessen. Dazu muss ich sagen, dass es sehr sehr lecker war. Als Hauptspeise hatten wir Paella (1x vegetarisch und 1x Meeresfrüchte). Das vegetarische Esssen war sehr fettig und für meinen Geschmack war es zu viel Gemüse. Der andere war weniger mit Fett, dafür aber hatte man ab und an gefühlt einen Stein im Mund. Ich fande auch die Paella zu teuer. Das Ambiente ist nichts besonderes. Der Service war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Gerne komme ich wieder, aber würde vermutlich nur Tapas essen

Essen war gut, deshalb noch zwei Sterne. Aber für über 100.-€: Bestelltes Hauptgericht war nicht mehr vorrätig, Vorspeise kam zeitgleich mit dem Hauptgang. Salatdressing war langweilig und dann war auf der Rechnung noch mehr als verzehrt, was nur aufgefallen ist, weil wir nachgerechnet haben. Da half auch der Cognac auf's Haus nicht mehr. Nie mehr!

Wir waren zu viert und hatten gegrilltes Doradenfilet und diverse Tappas. Die Frische, Zubereitung und Anrichtung hat uns allen sehr gut gefallen, es hat alles super toll geschmeckt 👍 Sehr freundliches Personal, zwischen Bestellung und servieren lagen keine 20 Minuten. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Bis jetzt die besten spanischen Tapas die ich in Deutschland gegessen habe, sehr lecker! Das nächste Mal werden wir auch mal was abseits der Tapaskarte probieren.

Gutes Essen, leider fehlt etwas der Pfiff um den Preis letztlich zu rechtfertigen. Fleisch war perfekt zubereitet und von sehr guter Qualität. Wir haben lediglich das gewisse Extra vermisst. Service freundlich und zügig.

Sehr leckere Fischgerichte und Tapas und nette Bedienung. Im Außenbereich muss man mittlerweile reservieren, dies war bisher nicht so. Gut zu wissen für die Zukunft. Kreditkarte werden nicht angenommen, deshalb ein Sternchen weniger.

Sehr leckere Dorade und Rumpsteak. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Leider kam einer unserer beiden Tapas nicht an, woraufhin wir ihn rückwirkend abbestellt haben. Auf der Rechnung war er dann noch drauf, was freundlich gelöst wurde. Obwohl wir einen Gutschein des Vorbesitzers nicht verwenden konnten, haben wir aus Kulanz zwei Brandys erhalten. Einrichtung im Außenbereich erinnert etwas an Biergarten.

Der Empfang war herzlich, der nachfolgende Service leider schleppend. Man hat sich nicht aktiv um den Gast gekümmert. Das Essen kam allerdings richtig schnell und es war unglaublich lecker. Die Fleischvariation vom Grill mit spanischen Kartoffeln und der Rotweinsoße kann ich mit gutem Gewissen weiter empfehlen. Die Preise sind gerechtfertigt. Das Ambiente innen ist ganz ok, auch wenn die Stühle etwas unbequem sind. Der Außenbereich könnte etwas mehr Ambiente vertragen. Alles in allem hatten wir einen schönen Abend mit tollem Essen und wir werden wieder kommen.

Wir waren hier für eine kleine Familienfeier zum Geburtstag und werden gerne nochmal wiederkommen. Hier hat einfach alles gepasst: leckeres Essen, ein freundliches, immer wieder für einen Spaß aufgelegtes Team und mit dem großen Spielplatz direkt nebenan hervorragend für Familien geeignet. Wir haben uns einmal quer durch die Speisekarte gearbeitet, angefangen mit Tapas, über Hauptgerichte bis hin zu den Desserts (hier gab es leider nicht mehr alles) - und alles war wirklich super lecker. Einziges gefundenes Manko: es gab keinen Wickeltisch 🙈

Tapas waren lecker, genau wie der Wein. Bedienung super nett, hatte trotz vollem Außenbereich alles im Griff.
