El Pepe Tapas Bar in Berlin

Very nice, small tapas bar, great service and very tasty tapas! Food like in Spain... and the boss right in the middle, taking care of the food with his team. We felt very comfortable here. I haven't eaten so well in a long time! 😀 👍

Real Spain feeling in the middle of Berlin. Inconspicuously located, true culinary delights await you there, and at top prices too. Price performance is right, taste is right and the atmosphere is great! Absolute recommendation!!!

Anyone who knows anything about tapas or Spanish cuisine cannot say that these patatas bravas are good. First of all, the brava sauce and aioli usually do not come separately; it's not common. It’s no terrible but is not really the usual. I've seen it a couple of times, but it's not the norm. The potatoes themselves were good, but the pieces were huge which doesn’t make sense The worst part was the brava sauce; it's clear that it wasn't made here. It's a packaged sauce with a texture as plastic-like as its flavor. One of the worst things I've ever eaten. How can you not make your own bravas salsa??!! This is awful I ordered some boquerones en vinagre (pickled anchovies) and got two fillets on a piece of bread. The menu doesn't mention that they come on bread. I thought I was going to get a plate with some boquerones as usual… but nope The waiters were super nice and the restaurant itself is pretty but the food.. I mean if you cannot make the most basic tapa as patatas bravas good, what’s for the rest? That sauce was disgusting

The sangria was actually not good, certainly from the supermarket, it is almost impossible to make a sangria bad as it is simply a mix of different alcohols. I didn't eat there but the food from the neighbors didn't look that authentic.

I've lived nearby for years and have always wanted to go to El Pepe. It's a shame I waited so long. Now I'll go every month! The food is great and the staff is really nice. Gladly again!

A great experience the second time too

I loved the site. The tapas are very very good. We tried squid, octopus, croquettes, salad, blood sausage, patatas bravas, tortilla and something else. Everything really delicious and homemade. Special mention for the salad, squid and croquettes. The decoration is great. Full of details of the most recent folklore. Very cozy and also fun. The attention of all the staff is very friendly and super efficient. Despite there being quite a few, things left the kitchen quickly. The price was also good and we also won the game... there's little more you could ask for :)

Nice place, delicious tapas (tortilla, pimientos, patata bravas, queso manchego, croquetas, anchoas, alcachofas), vermouth and very good wines. Honest prices, top service and a very nice and kind owner. A place where you forget the grayness of Berlin :)

I start with the food, the delicious croquettes, the original and very delicious potatoes, the rest of the different and delicious tapas, fresh and very delicious Santiago tart…. What else… Estrella Galicia is very fresh and as always perfect…the treatment by the staff is incredible. A mandatory stop

A friend had their birthday here the other day. The service was great. The food was bland. The highlight was definitely the almond tart with ice cream. Reasonably priced, great service, average tapas.

In 2018 we went to the restaurant for the first time on our visit to Berlin and my blind husband and I received loving advice. In 2019 it was another lovely evening. Last night we were happy that we found everything the way it was the first time. We'd love to come back.

Atmosphere great, service was okay, would like for the waiters to be more passionate and to have more knowledge about the food and the combinations what would work well. Food what theybserved was great, though tiny servings. In my opinion, when you're a tapas bar, you should have more than 8 tapas available. But can't complain about the quality!

Service flop. Ambience minimalistic, uncomfortable. Bad exhaust air. Cold. Loud. Only the taste of the food was okay. Totally small selection. Carelessly done. I will not visit the restaurant again nor recommend it.

Everything is delicious and the atmosphere is fun. A bit pricey due to the alcohol prices.

Tapas very basic, no creativity and variety whatsoever. Everything came on big chuncks of bland bread. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, each was forgotten to be served and we had to remind the waiters. That's where you realise these people have no experience in gastronomy.

Vegetarian selection is possible. The staff is friendly. The portions are enough and the prices are reasonable. We kept eating and eating 😅 recommended!

Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und entspannt. Sehr nettes Personal. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr schönen Abend und gute Stimmung. Die Preise sind auch fair. Das Essen war allerdings nur in Ordnung, leider nichts besonderes. Die Patatas Bravas waren zu trocken und die Pimientos nicht scharf genug angebraten. Auch wenn es sich allein für das Essen nicht lohnt zu kommen, kann ich es für einen entspannten Abend mit ein paar Drinks und Snacks in kleiner Runde empfehlen.

Ha nem vagy éhes, oké. A srácok rendesek, de semmi közük a vendéglátáshoz. Tapassal nem találkoztunk. Még a szomszédos asztalon sem. Meleg ételt rendeltünk, ehhez képest a 3 szelet baquette közül egy volt toast. Hiába a 4.6, ha jót akarsz nem mész oda.

Love the tapas there. You can generally get some specials from time to time. Strongly recommend the croquettes. They have very nice and cheap Albariño wine :) It is generally better to make a reservation as they do not have that much of a seating area.

had gone there once before and the food and atmosphere was ok. I went there recently again with two other people of colour and I do not recommend this place especially because of how unprofessional the staff is. The owner/manager of the restaurant (Javi) was racist towards us on top of being unprofessional and impolite. Due to a confusion over our reservation they kept us waiting even though there were free tables and after showing our frustration he kept harassing us aggressively and not leaving us alone until we had to leave the restaurant before even sitting down at a table to protect ourselves.

Il miglior locale di tapas spagnole che abbia mai provato! Eravamo un gruppo di amici e abbiamo ordinato un po’ tutto ciò che offriva il menù per condividere e provare più piatti.
