I've always been disappointed. Tough ribs, meat that doesn't come off the bone. Service staff that couldn't understand the term "medium" (only when asked)...

Good mexican place in the center of Kiel. Food quality served was of good quality and served by very friendly folks.

The food was rather simple, nothing special but tasty.

The food is okay. The menu is a bit confusing. Service is very friendly. Could use a fresh coat of paint. Oh well. The place, to be honest, needs a complete renovation. 😁

Apparently vegans are not part of the desired customer base here. Apart from potato side dishes or salad, there were no vegan or even veganizable dishes. In addition, the waitress didn't know what vegan meant. However, she was nice enough to ask in the kitchen whether they could offer us anything vegan besides potato side dishes and salad, which unfortunately was denied. The two stars should go to the rustic atmosphere and the cheap cocktails.

Für ein Mittagessen mit den Mitarbeitern hatten wir uns spontan dieses mexikanische Restaurant in fußläufiger Entfernung zum Büro ausgesucht. Gemütliche Atmosphäre, schnelle Bedienung, die dann aber leider nicht genau das brachte was wir bestellt hatten. Es gab eine große Karte mit einer riesiegen Auswahl typischer mexikanischer Gerichte aber auch Pasta. Ich selbst hatte ein Burger, der eigentlich gut gemacht war. Allerdinsg enthielt er ein Gewürz, dass ich nicht zuordnen kann und dort auch eigentlich nicht hingehörte, sodass dieser insgesamt wirklich nicht gut schmeckte. Schade. Mehrere Mitarbeiter und auch ich haben nach dem Besuch Darmprobleme, ich selbst war ganzen Tag komplett ausgelaugt und nicht arbeitsfähig. Ich mache, dass essen dort dafür verantwortlich. Ich werde dort nicht wieder essen.

I've had a few negative experiences with restaurants but this place makes me write my first review. My family and I have reserved a table for brunch on Sunday (April 20th). When I first looked at the buffet, I quickly noticed that most of the products were convenience products. The fruit already looked tarnished and the cold cuts also looked dried out. There were also some dirty plates, which we sorted out at the buffet ourselves. Overall, the buffet looked incredibly bland. Then I ordered a coffee and sparkling water (not included in the buffet price), which I never received despite asking. At some point I had enough and stopped at the checkout on the way to the toilet and paid the bill for my table and despite everything I tipped 10% on the total bill, even though the coffee and water were on the bill. I was so annoyed that I just wanted to leave. When I finally paid, I noticed how dirty the toilets were and I just find it very shameful that a restaurant like this is allowed to go to such a bad state. In the meantime, my mother had ordered a black tea for which we waited about 15 minutes. . When I asked at the checkout/bar (which I had a good view of), my mother got a mushy answer that the tea would be there soon. When my mother turned around to go back in our direction, I could clearly see how the young waitress made a grimace in my mother's direction and then had fun with the gentleman at the bar. I have to admit I almost blew the fuse but luckily I managed to stay calm About 5 minutes later I observed how the young blonde waitress pulled a used handkerchief out of his trouser pocket, blew his nose with it again and then finally served my mother the tea without washing his hands. We then left the shop without my mother drinking the tea. We'll never come back and I regret even tipping. Pretty much the worst restaurant experience I've had so far.

When I went by there recently with a friend, he told me that he wasn't served outside, even though the waiter saw him and, when asked, heard "there's no service outside right now" after 45 minutes. Okay, doesn't sound good, but that won't always be the case (?) Today, when the weather was nice, I made my way to El Paso to sit in the sun and eat something delicious. When I finally got there on crutches, which was very difficult for me because the nearest bus stop is very far away for me at the moment, the waiter just went in after bringing drinks. I sat right next to the window, clearly visible from inside, and waited. And waited. And waited. AND WENT AGAIN! Honestly, how is this store still holding up? How can it be that guests are ignored? There were no guests inside. I waited outside... so it couldn't have been because of a heavy workload! What angers me most is that I wasted all my energy getting there. Because of the severe walking disability I currently have, I can only walk a little and then I can't even get anything to eat or drink? I've only just made it home and my stomach is growling. If I could give ZERO stars, I would love to. I can't judge what the food and drinks were like because I didn't get anything. ...and I will never make the mistake of going there again.

Schlechtes Essen im staubigen und schmutzigen Ambiente….stunden später noch ein unangenehmes Gefühl im Magen. Alles schnelles Fertigessen was warm gemacht wurde.

The El Paso is really recommended. All employees are super friendly and considerate. The food is very tasty, but some dishes could use a little more pizzazz. Still no reason not to go back.

Nice little restaurant on two levels, 4 tables outside. Friendly staff, food delicious, prices are okay. We were there spontaneously on Saturday afternoon. You should probably make a reservation because there was only one table left outside. OK when the weather is nice.

We went to El Paso Kiel for dinner and it was a great experience. I had a burger with curly fries - the burger was really tasty and the homemade mayonnaise went perfectly with it! The cocktails were also convincing – they were really well mixed and tasted great. An all-round successful evening – I would love to come back!

Delicious but strong chili con carne. A bit difficult to get in touch with the staff, but when we did, the service was fast and friendly.

Restauranten var hyggelig og havde en tex-mex feel og personalet var søde, men maden havde intet at gøre med mexicansk mad. Vi fik enchilladas, en med kylling og en med pulled pork. De smagte stort identisk og med noget fyld der var udefinerbart. Maden var ok, men havde bare intet med mexicansk mad at gøre. På den positive note, skal det siges at personalet var søde og portionen stor. Men vil ikke anbefale det, hvis man forventer autentisk mexicansk mad.

Highly recommended, nice Mexican dishes at a great price/performance ratio. The portions are also made for even the most hungry people, everything is fresh and very tasty. The service was also very courteous and we asked after a reasonable amount of time whether everything was to our satisfaction. Definitely and happily come back.

If I could, I would give zero stars. We had asked in advance for barrier-free places because we had an almost 90-year-old woman with us. On the phone they said that this was not a problem and that they would make sure that this space was free. When we got there there was nothing barrier-free, instead we were coldly ignored and had to carry the old woman up the stairs. The food was cold and the room was loud. If you want to go out for a nice meal, look for something else.

The El Paso is a cozy restaurant that impresses with friendly service and good food. The Mexican dishes in particular are highly recommended - but the burger menus are also worth a visit and leave nothing to be desired. A small deduction goes to the ambience, which is now getting a bit old. Nevertheless, you feel comfortable and in good hands here. All in all, a great restaurant for anyone who appreciates good Mexican cuisine and friendly service.

The food was tasty so far, but unfortunately one dish wasn't really warm & the waiters could have been a little more attentive. It wasn't enough for 4 stars for me, but I would eat here again.

The service made some mistakes. The portion of cheese fries that you get for €8.50 is an absolute disgrace.

Mexican pimped fast food. Everything was quite greasy, large portions. It doesn't really fit into the world anymore, but if you like it, it fits. Staff tried hard.

I realize that a price increase is necessary, but in addition to only making 3 mini versions out of the three ribs that were always available anyway (almost €30) and charging €9 for 6 counted onion rings doesn't keep customers. How much do ribs cost? How much does an onion cost please? The steak on the El Paso plate (€32), actually everything on it, was so delicate that I needed reading glasses to eat it. Getting full doesn't work there. Don't eat together either. Out of three people, one had to wait a long time for his food. The service was bad. No eye contact, no questions. We had to chase our drinks. Although it wasn't particularly busy at the moment. And there were enough service staff there. A single disappointment. Our last visit.

The food and cocktails were very tasty. The ambience is okay. The service was good. But with so many customers, more staff would have been better. The wait was sometimes quite long. I had reserved a table by phone the week before. The reservation was not found. Luckily there was still a small table available, which we got.

Everything is great. I like it there.

The prices are impressive! The lunch menu is affordable & a mega portion. However, selling juice as a cocktail is questionable. Staff nice and quick! The atmosphere is Mexican, but they pretend to be American and they also have country music playing, which was very pleasant.

We ate here today with the short ones. The children's menu is top. Delicious food including a drink and an ice cream. The other meals were also delicious. It could have been a little cleaner. The children's chair was not cleaned after the last use and there was still lipstick on the cola glass. All in all, worth recommending.

Excellent Mexican restaurant in heart of Kiel. Interiors got a different vibe to the restaurant and staff were friendly. Prices of the dishes are little on higher side but the portions were also larger than normal.

Hey! I can recommend the lunch table. Where else can U get a plate and a little drink for less than ten euro? There is nothing to complain as it is less than 10euro The waitress and waiter are fine and nice. Service is quick. I had the snitzel and the burger and both are recommendable if U don't expect like high class food for lunch Good spot here! And I like the possibility to eat outside on the terrace.

Cocktails and food so far quite good. Service could be more attentive outside. You basically have to let the inside know if you want to order outside.

Very tasty food and also sufficient portions. The cocktails were also very good. With the long list of cocktails, we will definitely come back to happy hour again. Cozy restaurant to eat in peace and in a nice atmosphere. The only "shortcoming" we had was that my mother-in-law's spare ribs were a little too dark and dry for her taste. But otherwise everything was fine.

Today we are taking the ferry to Gothenburg and discovered El Paso by chance. We had lunch (pulled pork burger). There was also a cocktail 🍹. Optionally with or without alcohol. We decided on the alcohol option. We had the best and funniest lunch ever. The cocktail was super delicious!!! Oh and the burger was great too 😂!!!

Very nice staff. Ambiance, although on the sidewalk but you didn't notice it at all, it was cozy. The food was very tasty, the chicken schnitzel was very tender, the fries were crispy. Since I had actually ordered Twister, they came a little later, but a large portion. Also very tasty and crunchy. What more do you want. I will definitely come again.

I used to enjoy going to happy hour or brunch here as a student. Even 15 years later, still great quality food and service. The food was good, the staff were cheerful and friendly. However, it could have been a little spicier, especially the wings. But all in all, highly recommended.

It was very nice in El Paso! I had reserved a table in good time, so things got off to a good start. It was easy to reach by car and public transport. There was music playing in the background, which I thought was quite good. There was nothing to complain about about the food! The four of us were all very happy and I was happy not to have to cook myself. The portions were also well sized. In any case, I haven't heard any complaints and when I'm full, that's usually a good sign! There was also a toilet on site. This is no longer a given today and it was clean too. I would recommend it without any stomach ache!

The first thing I noticed when I looked at the menu was the prices. 4.20€ for 0.3l 7up. We were served relatively quickly but when the glasses arrived I noticed that the lemon slice was dirty and the glass was also unclean. The food came very quickly and tasted great too. The cheese on my cheeseburger resembled rubber and the meat tasted cheap. The salad was clearly not freshly prepared, the same on my companion's plate. The sour cream sauce tasted like nothing. Even the fries weren't particularly good, the bowl arrived at our table unclean. I also observed the waitress cleaning the tables. The bucket was visible to the customers, she briefly dipped the rag into the probably dirty water and wiped all the tables and chairs. Furthermore, the toilets were not particularly clean, which is another negative point. The restaurant in general needs a renovation and is past its best. The music was good, but turned up loud, which made table conversation at normal volume impossible.

Super friendly, humorous, careful and committed service person who deserved more than five stars. The ambience, on the other hand, is probably stuck in the 90s. The food was rather below average. The rice was totally over salted and almost inedible. The chili con carne, on the other hand, was absolutely fine. The cappuccino afterwards was delicious. All in all, three out of five stars is fine.

Mexican cuisine with very strong American influences. Very good quality. The taste is good but not enough spicy for Mexican dishes. Very good service. Very attentive and thorough with various changes to the dishes. Parking situation is rather bad as for most restaurants in the city. A very positive farewell. We'll definitely come back.

The food was a disaster, the appetizer was cold cheap chips from a bag with a water salsa. The main course was a burrito, or a tortilla with dry meat and a ready-made Aldi spice mix. First: The staff was very friendly and quite attentive!😌 Unfortunately it was very dark in the restaurant and unfortunately a bit dirty (under the table, toilets, spider webs in the corners and on the window). The plates were greasy and the food (in my opinion) was presented a bit carelessly. The prices are in the upper normal range. Since it was my second visit to this restaurant and I wasn't satisfied both times, I won't be coming back.

I wasn't there, I don't even know where it is!

We ate in El Paso on February 18, 2024 and would say it was below “ok”. It won't be a second visit. Praise goes to the nice service. Why? The price-performance ratio is not right. The non-alcoholic cocktails are relatively small. Considering that they consist of a little cream and fruit juice, 8 euros is a lot of money. But at least it was tasty, which I can't say about the food. I had enchiladas with pulled pork. The side salad came with a vinegar-sour dressing from the bottle. (Shame on such a restaurant!) The enchiladas were not rolled properly, so the overbaking left the tortillas hard and dry. There was also a mini bowl of watery salsa and a bit of sour cream. The enchiladas were advertised on the menu as “pulled pork BBQ style”. The meat was dry and there was no taste of BBQ. It tasted like it came from a supermarket package. The filling of the enchiladas consisted only of the dry meat and a few pieces of carrot. All in all really disappointing for 19.90 euros. My companion had the Tequila Grill Combination for 32.50 euros with a mini steak (no one asked whether it was medium, rare or whatever) and the announced spare ribs, which consisted of 3 thick ribs. My understanding of spare ribs is something different. The cream sauce was spread over a turkey schnitzel about 5-6 cm in diameter. Plus a few fries. At least they were ok, if bland. The cole slaw wasn't really tasty either. Summary: Not worth it. Where the good reviews come from is really a mystery to me.

Only 4 stars for the food because the portions were too big on plates that were too small so that everything fell over the edge. Food seasoned a little too lightly for my taste. It's understandable because not everyone likes it very spicy, but then there's no option for seasoning on the table. (Not just salt and pepper) With such small improvements, there would be zero points for criticism. By the way, the steak was on point! Only 3 stars for the ambience because there are some unkempt corners if you look closer. At our table there was a ventilation in the outside wall, which was covered, but there was so much draft that we had to put our coats on our laps and scarves have worn. And the toilets definitely need a little upgrade. The smell that wafts from the toilets in the basement up into the restaurant is not the toilets themselves. It's just due to the dry floor drains (a small bucket of water once a day helps here). So here too, a good improvement can be achieved with little effort. Service 5 stars, although we had to ask for separate plates for bones for chicken wings and spare ribs. But it was brought straight away without any complaints. More napkins for finger food would also be desirable. Service was incredibly friendly and fast, and special requests were no problem. Conclusion: Good restaurant with still a little potential for improvement. It's actually a shame because they're really easy things to fix. It would be nice if one or the other were implemented.

Ich habe das Lokal um 17:30 Uhr betreten. Ich war der einzige Gast. Nachdem ich mich erdreistet habe einen 4er Tisch zu beanspruchen wurde ich an einen 2er Tisch umgesetzte. Dann wurde mir die Speisekarte und cocktail Karte auf den Tisch geworfen. Anschließend bekam ich keine weitere Aufmerksamkeit und keine Bedienung. Nach 10 mon Ignoranz bin ich gegangen. Selbst beim hinausgehen erhielt ich keinerlei Aufmerksamkeit. Wie gesagt, das Lokal war leer.

I'm not surprised about the bad reviews lately. Things used to be better here. The prices have also not been updated on the website. The cards are sticky. We ate at El Paso and ordered cocktails. Both cocktails were fizzy and undrinkable. We then got new ones. One of them was good, the other was hardly different from before, and a garnish was missing and seemed very bland. The food was okay. I had two pieces of bone in my food and some of the meat was extremely dry. I noted that and let it go. When the bill came, I sent half the cocktail back and asked for a discount because the drink just wasn't good. The waitress asked the shift manager and came back with the statement that a discount was not possible. The cocktail would be ordered often and no one would have complained, it just wasn't to my taste. My comment that I've had this exact cocktail here more than once was simply dismissed. By the way, I was here exactly 8 days before. I find it very disappointing that you weren't even greeted with an espresso, as is usual elsewhere. We won't be coming back.

Nice service and an atmosphere that fits the theme. Although I find the chairs too uncomfortable for a longer evening. In our opinion, a lot of purchased/finished products were used. We would have wished it differently. Hence 3 stars.
