I really enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant; it had a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. The Birria tacos, in particular, stood out as a highlight, though it was a bit disappointing that they were served without any sauce. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the service. While my family received their meals in a timely manner, I ended up waiting nearly an hour for mine, which was frustrating. The drinks were also a letdown. I was especially disappointed with the margarita; for €10, I expected something more refined, but it tasted more like juice than a proper cocktail. In summary, the food was quite good and the ambiance was enjoyable, but the slow service and underwhelming alcoholic drinks took away from the overall experience.

At first, we thought the price was okay. But when we saw the portions, the price-performance ratio was no longer right. You get significantly fewer enchiladas to take out than you would get in (3 instead of 4). The taste was really nothing special. The quesadillas were wheat flatbreads melted in the microwave with cheese inside. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Chaos and junk right at the entrance, in front of the bar. Does anyone live here? The tables, however, are in a nicer setting, unfortunately overlooking this area. Conclusion: Not all Mexicans can cook well.

It is beautifully decorated in a traditional style... the staff were a bit overwhelmed... they constantly used their sweater sleeves to protect the plates and served in a not entirely coordinated manner... the food was delicious... but much too cold... but I'll be back sometime

Came here with a large group of people. The food was spot on! I have the chicken with mole and you would never know that you're 4000+ miles away from Mexico.

Large selection of Mexican dishes, the food was very good. In addition to the classic menu, there is also a weekly menu with changing dishes and cocktails. There is also a large selection of cocktails and tequila on the menu. The staff was very friendly during our visit. Conclusion: If you like classic Mexican cuisine, this is the place for you.

In terms of taste, it was quite decent (3.9 stars), but - despite not wanting it to be spicy - one dish was prepared very spicy. The service was nice, but the boss (?) wasn't really nice when it came to paying. Maybe it was because of the voucher (-> no one is forcing you to join neotaste!). I really like the atmosphere.

Unfortunately we didn't find the service friendly. The first meal came before the drinks. The starter tortilla chips were forgotten at first, after I complained they came with the main meal. There was no excuse for it. I didn't find my enchilada tasty, I only tasted dry chicken in a tasteless sauce gratinated with cheese.

I don't really understand all the very good reviews. When you walk into the restaurant, there's chaos in front of the counter, with all sorts of knick-knacks and junk lying around. To be honest, I think that's disrespectful to the guests. It makes me wonder what it's like in the kitchen. The female server was very nice, the male server was passive aggressive and put a lot of pressure on us to order as quickly as possible. We had three different dishes, all of which were swimming in the same oily sauce. It was edible, but really not something we'd want to eat again. The side beans looked like someone had just opened a can and tipped it into bowls. And that's how they tasted, too. The cocktails were okay. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Very tasty, authentic Mexican food. Veggie protein would be great, the price would be rather high - but it would be high quality and fresh!

Unfortunately we were not completely satisfied with our visit. The order was sometimes forgotten, the drinks took forever, and the quality of the food was not convincing. We were also brought the wrong food, and as compensation there were two double espressos for everyone, but that didn't really improve the overall impression. Unfortunately, the nachos were bland and disappointing in taste. I also ordered the Horchata drink, which I loved in Mexico, but it didn't taste anything like it here. It was very watery and disappointed me. Overall okay, but definitely room for improvement.

So first review back in a while and decided to come here as a recommendation from a friend. Service Very good and attentive service. Waiters came by about every 10 minutes to make sure everything was good without any issues. Food I went with the Oaxaca Quesadilla, Birria Tacos, and Tamarin Margarita. I wish there was something to describe the levels of flavors that were experienced in these 2 dishes. The quesadillas were hot and fresh and there was a crazy cheese pull. The Tacos were fresh, hot, and the meat was very flavorful and tender. Not overly salty, just pure flavor. Issue The only issue I had was that the area where I sat was a bit too tight for space. If feasible it would be good to get more space between tables. Overall/Recommendation I am originally from Texas so good Mexican food is a normal thing for me, but this restaurant is a must. If you are in the area you MUST come here for very authentic Mexican. The best in town hands down

It's a bit hidden and the entrance seems a bit spooky in the dark, but it's well worth going in 😊 Once inside, everything is decorated in a very colorful Mexican style - that goes surprisingly well with the half-timbered building. The food is super tasty and I can highly recommend the lime water (I can't remember exactly what it says on the menu). The service is very friendly and courteous

We stopped by the restaurant because of the good reviews. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The ambience itself is nice, but the karaoke machine was set up way too loudly, so you could hardly have a conversation. We both ate enchilladas, which were a casserole with a lot of cheese. Maybe we just had a bad day, but we definitely won't be coming back.

First I would like to focus on the positive. When you enter the restaurant you immediately feel like you are in Mexico. The food is also authentic and cannot be compared to the dishes of the usual "Mexican" chain restaurants. The reason why we were there was completely fulfilled. Let's move on to the less pleasant and very annoying part of the visit. When I got home I noticed that we were charged for 1 dessert that we didn't order (4 people, 5 desserts). I then went through the entire bill and noticed that we were also overcharged for 2 cocktails. The night total +/- 25 euros. So a day later I tried to contact the restaurant (by email) and to date (2 weeks later) I have NOT received an answer. Telephone calls (2x) went unanswered. At first I assumed that the overcharging for drinks and food was an oversight, but after ignoring emails that were worded in a friendly and benevolent way, I almost have to assume that the calculation was deliberate. Since my contacts have unfortunately been successfully ignored, I hope that my review will at least get the operator's attention, or at least warn other guests.

1. The prices are not transparent, you look at the menu and order a beer (5,90€ in the menu). The staff didn't convey anything if it's available or not. He brought a 1.2L beer bottle opened, guess what...the price is 17€. Irrespective of whether you want/don't, you pay the price. 2. I read the reviews before going to the restaurant and thought the staffs could have learned from that. But they missed out an order and he got his dinner only after everyone from our group finished theirs. The reservation went quite well and the table was prepared for the time. Staffs are polite and the food was tasty. The portion wasn't big as you expect from a Mexican restaurant, so ordering a starter to share was appropriate. I wish I could give them more stars, but for the above two disappointing issues.

Great food and a great atmosphere!

We waited half an hour for our food to arrive. Another 1.5 hours until it comes. Unfortunately, times like these are absurd because the restaurant is very small. Waiters are seen less often than Deutschebahn does when selecting personnel.

I was a few months ago at El mero Mexicano (for the first time) and I really liked both the food and the service and atmosphere. I was back this weekend and sadly the experience was not the same. For starters I ordered a green tamale which was not only extremely small, but it was extremely dry, luckily it was served with green sauce on the side and that improved it a little but the dough still felt very dry. For the main course I ordered golden chicken tacos which disappointed me greatly, I got the impression that they were golden tacos with a wheat flour tortilla and not corn, they tasted more like chicken nuggets than golden tacos. The chicharrón with guacamole was very good and they also gave me a super spicy and delicious red sauce, so it was a 10/10.

I had dinner at El Mero with some old colleagues. Since my first experience in 2023 wasn't so exciting, I gave the restaurant another chance. Ambience was quite good. When serving, there was the problem that the service came around with the names of the food and we only remembered the letter-number combination. None of our Spanish is very good at the moment, so it was quite interesting that the staff couldn't do anything with the abbreviations and looked at us confused. The food was definitely not good. The Appetizer were expensive and not cooked but came directly from a bag, 100% industrially manufactured (tacos and chicharrones). This is the worst mexican restaurant I've ever ate at.

The food is very tasty, the atmosphere is very nice. The young girl who served us visibly felt uncomfortable in her role and only spoke the bare minimum 😉. We still really liked it and we'll be back 😊.

The most authentic Mexican food in Stuttgart. The tacos de birria are amazing. The tacos al pastor are not good, I don't recommend them. The atmosphere for the "día de muertos" was very cool with live latin music. The owner and the waiters were nice but they took very long to bring the food and the drinks.

Came highly recommended online, and the atmosphere did not disappoint. However, in my opinion, the food was very salty, the vegetarian options had no vegetables, just potatoes and a ton of cheese, and for two entrees, two beers, a plate of chips and a dessert we paid almost 70 Euros, which I found way overpriced for the flavour. Also, we felt the boss was very rushed and pushy even though we had reserved a table and the restaurant was half full. I can't judge if it's authentic, but I would choose a different place to go next time.

The four of us attended the Día de los Muertos event last Saturday evening. We heard nothing but good things from a couple who were friends of ours and who had been guests here at El Mero several times and wanted to try it out ourselves. The ambience and general mood really made it seem very authentic and cozy. Unfortunately the service was very overwhelmed that evening. For the starter, the four of us shared the baked nacho plate and then ordered an additional guacamole. This then reached our table for the main course. Even with the main course, where we had the H8 Taquiza for two, we had to wait some time until the tacos were put on the table, after all the meat etc. had already been at the table for over 10 minutes and was gradually getting colder became. Our companions ordered classic enchiladas and mole enchiladas. When serving, however, the classic enchiladas were brought twice. Even when we checked that it wasn't a mole, we were assured by the service that it was a mole. However, the person had already been here a few times and knew what the dish with mole looked like. It was then taken back to the kitchen and after about 10-15 minutes the mole dish was served. What particularly triggered me personally was the early clearing of our table. I still had my fork in my hand and the plate was literally pulled out from under my nose. Even the person who received their food late was still eating while everything else was being taken away. A clear no-go for me. Now let's get to the taste: Of course, the kitchen is the least capable of everything I've already listed. The food itself is very tasty, well prepared and authentic. Maybe we'll give it another chance on a second visit.

The changing monthly dishes offer an exciting selection of changing insights into Mexican cuisine. The staff was super nice and accommodating. The food is served quickly and the portions are really big. The do-it-yourself tacos for two people are a really great idea. You can top the tacos yourself with the fillings from the weekly specials and experiment a bit. And it was tasty and a lot of fun, we'll be happy to come back.

Although the food and atmosphere are good, the staff's attention leaves a lot to be desired. Our food took over an hour and a half to arrive, and could have taken much longer if we hadn't constantly asked if our food would be ready to see if we should go somewhere else, we received uncertain answers and an indifferent attitude to our simple question. I repeat, the food is excellent, unfortunately we will never return after this disappointment, the mixture of hunger and the indifference of the staff ruined our night. Particularly after traveling almost two hours to eat there. I understand it was a busy night for them, but they should improve their communication with customers. They shouldn't accept so many reservations if they don't have the capacity to serve so many tables.

With excellent taste and a central location in Fellbach, this restaurant is somewhat hidden between the entrances of other shops and is therefore not entirely intuitive to find. The food is fresh and delicious, simply brilliant. However, given the size of our group, the staff was extremely overwhelmed. Starter came before drinks, sometimes incorrect orders, language barrier... We like to go there, but you shouldn't be stressed and you should take your time.

This was our third time eating there. The food was really delicious (but I also love everything with coriander 😀). There are also many Mexican beers to try. The boss is very friendly and sometimes takes the time for a little small talk. Price-performance ratio is right, we will definitely come back.

We had a very nice evening at El Mero Mexicano and really enjoyed the atmosphere and relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent, highly recommended! The cocktail was also very tasty and the service was great. Very attentive and friendly. I will definitely come back and am already looking forward to the next time :)

The service was a disaster, the waiter took 20 minutes to bring a bottle of water and came back 4 times to ask about the order. They brought us the wrong order, there were people who ordered a starter and main course and they were brought almost together when the other half of the table had to wait another 20 minutes watching how the others ate. The man who looks like the owner or manager took the red sauce off the table in the middle of dinner without asking and when we asked for another one he brought us a used and leaky one. The food wasn't as horrible as the service.

Food was authentic and tasty, 4-5 stars. Service was a complete failure, more on that below. The menu contains many Mexican dishes and drinks as well as Mexican beers, very positive. The ambience is also quite nice, Mexican music is playing and the visuals try to convey some Mexican flair. If you only consider the food and the ambience, a higher overall rating would have been fair. However, the behavior of - we believe - the boss was subterranean. When ordering, my partner tried - I have to say tried - to ask him a question twice. He simply ignored her completely and after 2-3 words he stopped her in the middle of her speech and simply spoke to another guest in our group. This wasn't a one-time accident but happened completely intentionally twice. He wasn't quite as rude towards us other guests, but he didn't seem to be very friendly either. It was very unpleasant for all of us and it immediately dampened our mood and we didn't feel particularly comfortable. There was no “thank you,” “see you next time,” or anything like that when paying. The payment was made without a word, which confirmed that we should forego tipping. He should take an example from his Latin American waitress, she was extremely friendly and definitely deserved a tip. If he always behaves like this, he is completely out of place as a restaurateur.

The food was very bad, mine was so hard and dry that I couldn't finish it. My wife had a dish with chicken, in the whole meal there were a total of 2 small pieces of meat. Directly at the entrance on the right is a huge table with junk. You can really spend your money a lot better. Absolutely not recommended.

Fantastic! Best Mexican food we have had in Stuttgart in 3 years of living here. We lived in San Diego for many years. The menu was not as robust but everything was absolutely delicious. The staff was very nice... Mix of English, German and Spanish language... We will definitely be back. I here the plane gets packed so make a reservation.

As a transplant from San Antonio and as the husband to a Mexican wife, I've had a lot of amazing Mexican food. El Mero is a great option in the Stuttgart area. We had tacos, enchiladas, and steak and it was all great. I'd definitely recommend the enchiladas in green sauce.

Disappointing experience at the restaurant I visited the restaurant on May 29, 2024 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After we were seated, we had to wait 50 minutes for our food. After this long wait, we discovered that our order had not been taken at all. This lack of attention and efficiency from the service staff was very disappointing. The order was taken by the boss. When we finally pointed out that our order had not yet been taken, there was no apology or explanation. Unfortunately, this incident left a negative impression and we left the restaurant without a positive experience. I hope that management takes this feedback seriously and takes appropriate action to improve the service. We finally left the restaurant hungry.

Wie waren zu zweit dort und jeder hatte auch ein Essen bestellt.Meine Freundin bekam ihr Essen ich nichts.Wir fragten 2 mal nach das wir sehr gerne zusammen essen würden. Dann wurde nsch langer Zeit nochmal gefragt was ich denn bestellt hätte. Da meine Begleitung schon mit dem Essen fast fertig war sagte ich möchte nun gar nichts mehr haben. Es wurde sich zwar entschuldigt aber mein Getrönk musste ich trotzdem bezahlen . Es wäre ein feiner Zug als Entschuldigung dies nicht zu berechnen. Auch das Essen meiner Begleitung war nicht gut. Srgr sehr schade

I'm from Mexico, and the things we ate here had a real taste of home, so it was worth the visit just for that part. The menu felt a bit short for my taste, as I was really looking forward to tasting more Mexican dishes, but what we did taste was great. The owner was really friendly when he approached our table, but he seemed a bit strict with his staff. The staff was very polite and they all spoke Spanish, German and English, which was great. I would not come here too often as it ended up being a bit too expensive considering the things we ate and knowing that these same dishes would've cost less in Mexico. The important thing to keep in mind is that this place makes you feel like you are in Mexico, and that's enough to be worth a visit from time to time.

Today we were in the restaurant with 12 people and celebrated a birthday. The staff was very friendly and gave us very good advice and professional service. The little guests were also taken care of. The restaurant offers a truly authentic insight into Mexican cuisine. It is highly recommended, we will definitely come back.

The four of us met for dinner on Saturday evening. Very full restaurant. Only got 2 tickets for 4 people. At first very uninterested service, except for the boss. For 15 minutes no one came and no one looked at us. A starter and a side dish for the main course were forgotten. I have been a chef and head chef myself for 15 years. I've been to México myself and have to say that the dishes tasted very bland and just spicy. Drinks were very good! Beer and sodas. The ambience is very nice and traditional, but nothing to entertain (very loud) and when they started singing on a karaoke machine, we immediately ordered the bill.

Lockere, fröhliche Atmosphäre hier im El Mero Mexicano. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal das uns bedient hatte. Wir waren zu viert und es hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Vorspeise mit Tortilla Chips und Dips 👍 Außergewöhnlich war das es Gerichte mit Schockosoße z. B. (Encheladas mit Hähnchen und Mole ) gab, für unsere Gaumen sehr spannend. Das mussten wir unbedingt testen, einfach köstlich👍 ein vegetarisches Gericht war auch dabei, wurde auch als sehr lecker empfunden. Zum Nachtisch Karamellpudding und Guavengelee. Wir kommen wieder 😋😋😋
