The meal was excellent. 300g beef fillet classic. Very tender and juicy. The tomato and onion salad was also first class.

Were there with a group. Food was really great, unfortunately the service wasn't. There were drinks at the beginning, during and after eating nobody has received an order for drinks. Probably the table had to be released again.

The price-performance ratio is not right here. Very expensive! Because of the prices, I wanted to take the cheap vegetable pan and asked if it was gluten-free. At first it said yes, then suddenly "no" and the waiter talked me into a small piece of meat for €33, which had no side dishes, sauce, onions or butter. A potato with herb butter also had to be bought for €5.50. And then of course you would like to have something to drink. Too expensive! The something you get isn't presented pretty on the plate either. The waiter comes to the table very often, is very friendly and the store is focused on sales. The ambience is rustic and outdated, but still cozy. The toilet is not appropriate for the expensive store and needs to be more modern and comfortable. I was there with a large group and we all thought it was too expensive.

The atmosphere is cozy with chairs that are quite out of place that don't invite you to linger! Food that had already been served to the guest and was served incorrectly was passed to the next guest after a short stop at the counter! The waitress preferred to chat with his counter guests rather than provide new drinks! In contrast to the starters and side dishes, steaks were worth their price!

Price-performance ratio not at all satisfactory. The meat is way too overpriced for what it is. The potato was tasty but that was it for me. The waiter was very nice. I wouldn't come anymore, but I'd rather buy some meat and do it myself.

During a business trip, we had dinner. It was really tasty. I reduced one star because the steak plate didn't have a side dish. I had to order and pay for the side dish myself.

The restaurant lives up to its reputation: the best meat in Cologne! Tender and delicious grilled. I can definitely recommend the Bernaise sauce with the steak, it is homemade and absolutely delicious. The food is incredibly good, you can tell the quality, so eating out is really fun. The service is also wonderful. Our waiter Kris was incredibly nice, accommodating and does his job with passion. Perfect host. 👌

My wife in the clinic on the ring - so I had to get fed alone. Because of the proximity, I ended up in "El Gaucho". Since everything was full, I was allowed to sit at the counter. Apart from the very nice conversation with the "boss" (because he welcomes the guests here), the meat and salad were very good. This is what a steak should taste like! It was worth every penny. Because it was so good, I went back the next day to see if the quality was a flash in the pan the first time... No, everything was great again this time. The only drawback was that Monday is a day of rest and the spoiled guest has to have a blessing before he gets his fill.

Everything used to be better. Visited you again after years. But somehow it's not like it used to be. Pablo's service was attentive as always. But the starter looked absolutely loveless. The steak was delicious, the potato was the same. It will be a while until next time for us.

Preferably zero. We've never experienced anything like this - the food at the table was completely mixed up or completely wrong. When we asked for mayo with the fries, we had to wait longer than 1 1/2 hours and ask several times until we got tired of it. And in which lockal do I have to wait 1/2 hour for a simple bottle of water. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. No recommendation at this time The owner should put a lot of effort into his concept and his staff!

In jedweder Hinsicht top: Die Mitarbeiter, die ein gut eingespieltes festes Team bilden, sind aufmerksam, herzlich und serviceorientiert. Das hausgemachte Chimichurri, das vorm Essen zum Brot gereicht wird, ist so lecker, dass man sich allein davon gerne schon sattessen möchte und sich zwingen muss, aufzuhören, damit man das Hauptgericht noch schafft. Was sich mehr als lohnt: Qualitativ hochwertiges Fleisch, meisterhaft zubereitet. Alles perfekt, ich gehe dort regelmäßig mit Freunden essen, und alle sind begeistert und kommen gerne wieder.

Als Neubürger von Köln musste ich als Steakliebhaber nicht lange suchen, um mein neues Lieblingsrestaurant für Fleisch in Köln zu finden. Tatsächlich gab es am Wochenende einen richtigen Fleischkick mit Aha-Erlebnis. Argentinien kann Steaks wirklich gut. Schnelle und nette Kellner in gemütlicher Atmosphäre bei abgemessenen Preisen. Beim Rausgehen habe ich schon für das nächste Date mit dem Parrillero El Gaucho reserviert. Mein Tipp: Rumpsteak mit grünem Pfeffer, Folienkartoffel + Quilmes-Bier. Das macht mich glücklich. Kleiner Wermutstropfen gab es aber schon, den ich wohne in Flittard und leider nicht in der Kölner City.

Visited with my brother during an overnight stay in cologne, fancied a steak and was very happy with the choice. Rustic Argentinian steakhouse with a very good selection of steaks. Had a magnificent fillet steak and a 'few' very nice beers. Really good friendly service and excellent food and drink. Can't go wrong if you want a steak in Cologne.

Die Steaks sind wirklich toll, das ist außer Diskussion. Die Pommes waren dagegen sehr trocken und der Spinat den wir bestellten, wenig angemacht. Aber was wir wirklich sehr schlecht fanden, war die Enge. Eine sehr dichte Bestuhlung. Wir waren zu zweit und saßen an einem winzigen Tisch. Wie alle die zu zweit waren. Das Ambiente lässt zu wünschen übrig. 130.- € für 2 kleine Steaks mit Pommes und Spinat und jeder 3 Softgetränke ist für so ein Ambiente sehr teuer. Es war mal schön ein anderes Steakhaus kennenzulernen, aber das war es auch.

Wie immer ein herausragendes Steak und auch die Vorspeise war lecker! Preis/Leistung ist aber leider am oberen Limit.

Stale. Dusting would be strongly recommended. Wardrobe messy. Chaotic. The waiter was very attentive. The boss clearly gave the impression that he doesn't really care what "extra requests" guests have. Zero accommodating. Sirloin steak sold out when the store opens. Overall, I'm appalled at how, as a host, you have such a lack of interest in your guests and communicate this clearly. I won't come back. It only gets two stars thanks to the friendliness of the waiter.

Nice dine again, each time the steak was prepared according to my request

Food was very tasty. The waiter was unfriendly at the beginning because I had to ask several times which cola drink was being sold (Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, Fritz-Cola). The answer was always Cola. Unfortunately the restaurant does not have air conditioning and was very hot that day.

The ambience is a bit old in my opinion, which can also be described as quaint. Tables for two people are a bit small, but that's due to the large plates for the portions, so that's a positive thing. Very friendly staff. Steaks are great. One was more through than medium, but would have been exchanged. Price-performance is okay, you even get Quilmes 🍺🍺🍺🍺

ich hatte schon vom Gaucho in Köln gehört und waren sehr gespannt. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht, denn das Steak war perfekt. Überrascht war ich über das ganze leckere und kreative drumherum. Ich empfehle als Vorspeise unbedingt die hausgemachten Empanadas, ob mit Fleisch oder vegetarisch, ... beides noch nie so genossen. Nachspeise Dulce Membrillo mit Käse … und pappsatten schönen Abend …

Wonderful food... to HOT inside... the boys had a fan pointed at himself. The rest of us were sweating in the heat. Candel at the tables while adding to the atmosphere also added heat to the room. steaks were perfectly cooked. The sides were good but not big enough to share, so plan on ordering your own side. The salads were enough for 2 to share. Three at our table had the special mushroom cover steaks... they found the mushrooms were a bit salty for their taste.

Das Restaurant ist eine klare Empfehlung. Tolles Essen super netter und guter Service. Sowohl die Karte als auch die Zubereitung hebt sich deutlich von irgendwelchen 08 15 Steakhäusern ab.

Since I have diabetes, I asked for whole grain bread! There isn't one, I was told!!! I had to wait over 40 minutes for my steak and I ate it rear! The steak that came out was grayish on the inside and was still ice cold inside! When I asked the boss, he said that's how it is at Rear, it must still be ice cold inside, I eat a lot of steak but I've never had anything like that presented to me before. Ich esse nicht so viel Fleisch und wenn Rindfleisch, dann am liebsten im El Gaucho Köln. In vielen Restaurants stehen auf den Speisekarten keine Gewichte zu den Steaks und man bestellt blind die Katze im Sack und bekommt häufig nur ein kleines Steak und dann stimmt der Preis auch nicht mehr. El Gaucho gibt das Gewicht vorher an, und man bekommt auch das bestellte. Fair, denn dann stimmt auch der Preis für frisches argentinisches Steak vom Grill in Bio-Qualität. Woanders gibt es gefrorene aufgetautes Fleisch mit unbekannter Herkunft oder fertige kleine Burger. Das ist natürlich Geschmacksache, aber nichts für mich.

Ich empfehle die südamerikanischen Logdrinks auszuprobieren, von denen ich vorher nicht wusste, dass es sie gibt … sehr lecker … Meine Freundin hatte ein kleines Filet + Folienkartoffel und ich ein Rumpsteak + Yuca. Bei unserem nächsten besuch in Köln fangen wir mit dem El Gaucho an, die Stadt zu erkunden. … Guter Startpunkt!

But : There were 5 waiters in the restaurant, the restaurant wasn't full and we had to wait a long time from the start. Towards the end the waiter became more and more unfriendly and wasn't at our table anywhere. The bill was slammed on the table and then the waiter left again. Since there were several of us, we wanted to pay separately, but this was also answered with annoyance and we had to wait a long time again. When paying, the waiter slammed the change on the table and people shouted at you if you didn't have the right amount of money. In the end you were asked to pay by card because he preferred that. It wasn't full in the restaurant and there weren't too few staff, they stood around more than everything else. The food was okay, but nothing special.

The food is really fantastic! The starters are delicious, BUT: The Gran Bife de Lomo tastes like you're in the best restaurant in Buenos Aires, really incredible. If you haven't tried this, you're missing out.

I food would have been top notch it were not for the fact they made me so sick not long after eating there today. I ordered their Vegan Mushrooms, a Beef Empanada and a Sirloin Steak with Broccoli. Something had butter on it. I'm guessing they finish their beef with butter. This is a trick most kitchens use when they have sub par Meats. I'm so allergic to butter. I was sick for hours while on holiday in Köln.

Very unfriendly staff, we didn't enjoy our time there at all, really, haven't seen worse some time now. We even felt uneasy at some times. And we paid 300. Food was OK, nothing exceptional.

Wir waren zu sechst und ich hatte eingeladen. Die Steaks, Beilagen und die Getränke haben uns nicht überzeugt. Dabei sind Steaks ja recht einfach zuzubereiten. Die pisco sour fand ich sehr klein, teuer und vor allem habe ich das woanders deutlich besser bekommen. Wir fanden den Besuch enttäuschend.
