ich hatte schon vom Gaucho in Köln gehört und waren sehr gespannt. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht, denn das Steak war perfekt. Überrascht war ich über das ganze leckere und kreative drumherum. Ich empfehle als Vorspeise unbedingt die hausgemachten Empanadas, ob mit Fleisch oder vegetarisch, ... beides noch nie so genossen. Nachspeise Dulce Membrillo mit Käse … und pappsatten schönen Abend …

Das Restaurant ist eine klare Empfehlung. Tolles Essen super netter und guter Service. Sowohl die Karte als auch die Zubereitung hebt sich deutlich von irgendwelchen 08 15 Steakhäusern ab.

So the restaurant is bottom drawer, in a very bad area. You don't understand the waiter at all, I have no idea whether he doesn't speak German or has a speech impediment! Since I have diabetes, I asked for whole grain bread! There isn't one, I was told!!! I had to wait over 40 minutes for my steak and I ate it rear! The steak that came out was grayish on the inside and was still ice cold inside! Ich esse nicht so viel Fleisch und wenn Rindfleisch, dann am liebsten im El Gaucho Köln. In vielen Restaurants stehen auf den Speisekarten keine Gewichte zu den Steaks und man bestellt blind die Katze im Sack und bekommt häufig nur ein kleines Steak und dann stimmt der Preis auch nicht mehr. El Gaucho gibt das Gewicht vorher an, und man bekommt auch das bestellte. Fair, denn dann stimmt auch der Preis für frisches argentinisches Steak vom Grill in Bio-Qualität. Woanders gibt es gefrorene aufgetautes Fleisch mit unbekannter Herkunft oder fertige kleine Burger. Das ist natürlich Geschmacksache, aber nichts für mich.

Wer nach Authentizität sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Hier gibt es nicht nur Super-Steaks vom Grill oder echt tolle argentinische Weine. Ich empfehle die südamerikanischen Logdrinks auszuprobieren, von denen ich vorher nicht wusste, dass es sie gibt … sehr lecker … Meine Freundin hatte ein kleines Filet + Folienkartoffel und ich ein Rumpsteak + Yuca. Alles zu einem fairen und angemessenen Preis. Ein gute Tipp jeden jeden Urlaub in Köln. Einmalig. ...

The restaurant is cozy. We were sitting outside. The food was very good. Especially the meat. We ordered beef fillet. The side dishes were also very good. First of all there was bread with a very tasty dip. For us the price-performance ratio was right and we can recommend the restaurant.

Steaks auf dem Punkt, klasse Wein und fantasievolle südamerikanische Spezialitäten und Drinks. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend bei freundlichen und schnellen Service. Bei unserem nächsten besuch in Köln fangen wir mit dem El Gaucho an, die Stadt zu erkunden. … Guter Startpunkt!

Such unfriendly staff. At the beginning I would like to say that I also work in the catering industry, so I understand a lot of things. But : There were 5 waiters in the restaurant, the restaurant wasn't full and we had to wait a long time from the start. Towards the end the waiter became more and more unfriendly and wasn't at our table anywhere. The bill was slammed on the table and then the waiter left again. Since there were several of us, we wanted to pay separately, but this was also answered with annoyance and we had to wait a long time again. When paying, the waiter slammed the change on the table and people shouted at you if you didn't have the right amount of money. In the end you were asked to pay by card because he preferred that. It wasn't full in the restaurant and there weren't too few staff, they stood around more than everything else. The food was okay, but nothing special.

Wer in Köln ein sehr gutes und hochwertiges Steak mit originalen Argentinischen Beilagen essen möchte, sollte zu El Gaucho gehen. Preislich schon etwas teurer, aber dafür auch extrem hohe und gute Qualität. Sehr zu empfehlen.

The food is really fantastic! The starters are delicious, BUT: The Gran Bife de Lomo tastes like you're in the best restaurant in Buenos Aires, really incredible. If you haven't tried this, you're missing out.

I food would have been top notch it were not for the fact they made me so sick not long after eating there today. I ordered their Vegan Mushrooms, a Beef Empanada and a Sirloin Steak with Broccoli. Something had butter on it. I'm guessing they finish their beef with butter. This is a trick most kitchens use when they have sub par Meats. I'm so allergic to butter. I was sick for hours while on holiday in Köln.

Very unfriendly staff, we didn't enjoy our time there at all, really, haven't seen worse some time now. We even felt uneasy at some times. And we paid 300. Food was OK, nothing exceptional.

Wir waren zu sechst und ich hatte eingeladen. Die Steaks, Beilagen und die Getränke haben uns nicht überzeugt. Dabei sind Steaks ja recht einfach zuzubereiten. Die pisco sour fand ich sehr klein, teuer und vor allem habe ich das woanders deutlich besser bekommen. Wir fanden den Besuch enttäuschend.

Unfortunately also totally disappointed with the restaurant. I can only recommend everyone not to eat there if you want rum or dry meat. It's also quite expensive and not all that inviting.

No price-performance ratio, the meat was so tough, the onions and fried potatoes unfortunately didn't appeal to us. Went to the restaurant with a lot more hopes. This is a current opinion and hopefully not a permanent situation. With a lot of respect for the work but unfortunately it didn't work out today.

It is an amazing, Authentic Argentinian Steak House with excellent service and a great atmosphere. I ordered the Empanadas, and the LOMO steak is highly highly recommended with the side of Mushrooms and baked potatoes.

There has NOT been a better place for FIRST CLASS STEAKS in Cologne for decades. I've been kidnapped there since I was 4 years old and that quickly adds up to 53 years. Love this place AND ESPECIALLY the steaks...

Rekommenderar inte denna restaurang. Empanadas som serverades var frysta och friterade. Mörk bruna och fortfarande frysta inuti. Dessa skall köras i ugn. Väldigt dåliga. Beställde entrecôte som var sådär. Beställde medium rear och fick medium. Grönsakerna till varmrätten är som vanligt i Tyskland överkokta. Servitören fanns bara där vid servering och avdukning. Vid betalning begärde han 15% i dricks! Det bästa med denna middag var en flaska vin från Argentina som man just fått in och som ägaren själv kom med efter mina önskemål om ett riktigt gott vin. Kommer inte tillbaks.

Price performance was unfortunately not satisfactory. The food was tasty, but not great. It was a snack bar atmosphere and the service was unfriendly. For a meal between 40-60 euros, even a small piece of herb butter is charged 2.80 extra. My expectations were much higher and in retrospect it was very disappointing for me. I'm happy to pay the above-mentioned price range per person for good food, but then I also expect good service accordingly.

Absolutely perfect ribeye, the house wine is superb, perfect place to have authentic steaks.

Underground from start to finish. I have never experienced such a carelessly run restaurant with overpriced food. What a disappointment. Service inattentive and full of displeasure, food not seasoned, completely overpriced, side dishes lukewarm, even the water didn't taste good. Never again.

We had beef soup, fried calamari and scampi for starters. All 3 were completely missing. There was no beef to be found in the beef soup, the calamari were unfortunately tasteless. The scampi were tasty but unfortunately not enough for €15 (12 small scampi). My wife had a rump steak and I had a ribeye. To be honest, it was very tasty, but here comes the point: despite being one of the best steak houses in Cologne, the outside was unfortunately too seared, so it tasted bitter due to the roasting. The cooking point was perfect. All in all, the visit wasn't that great. BTW with drinks it was 165€ on the clock ;)

Das war für uns ein sehr schöner Abend. Das Fleisch war perfekt und auf den Punkt gegrillt. Absolute Spitzenqualität ! (Filetsteak Madagascar). Uns hat es auch sehr viel Freude bereitet ( wir saßen am Tresen ) dem jungen Mann hinter der Theke bei seiner Arbeit zuzuschauen. Unglaublich schnell und konzentriert. Solche Mitarbeiter wünscht man sich. Der Mitarbeiter mit den Locken der uns bedient hat war super, sehr aufmerksam und schnell, dabei ungewöhnlich freundlich obwohl viel zu tun war ( das Lokal war brechend voll ). Uns ist nie das Kölsch ausgegangen. Am Ende ist er unserem Taxi noch nachgespurtet weil meine Frau ihr Hany liegen gelassen hatte. Ganz vielen Dank für alles.

Nice atmosphere, had the entrecote with onions, was okay, but nothing special for the hefty price. Unfortunately you are not asked whether it should be medium, friendliness is so-so but you are served quickly. Cassava fried with it was very tasty.

I had a business meal at El Gaucho earlier this week. My work colleague and I had our leftovers packed up and I was surprised to find that only my leftover box was labeled “China”. I had my rum steak packed and I don't see any connection with the country of China. Since I was the only Asian at our table, I was able to put two and two together. At that moment I felt it was very racist, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to make a fuss in front of our business partners. In hindsight I regret not responding as it was not only rude but also disrespectful. It is unfortunate that such occurrences can affect the overall impression of what might otherwise be a pleasant experience. I will not dine at El Gaucho again and hope that the restaurant takes such incidents seriously and takes appropriate measures to avoid such situations in the future.

We thought we'd go for an Argentinian meal, great steak, you can't go wrong. I have never been turned away so unfriendly as I was in this bar! We came in, were looked at and asked harshly by a sturdy, gray-haired person if we had ordered, we said no. Well, it was half past seven in the evening. A younger colleague had set up a place, the strong man, whose pure listlessness was already visible, then whispered, "You have 1 1/2 hours." Grabbed my wife afterwards and we left. Really good for the image. But if they don't want our money...

We had sirloin steak; the meat wasn't medium-cooked as we ordered; it was more on the rare side. However, it had a good taste and was tender. Unfortunately, the Béarnaise sauce was flavorless.

We ate at El Gaucho on a Saturday evening with a reservation, which was probably necessary, because we were craving delicious steaks... We only ordered fillet steaks (also known as “Lomo”): twice in the 200g version. for €33.60 each and once as 300gr. “Fillet steak Gorgonzola” for €50.40. It should be noted that the prices mentioned "sin guarnición" do not include any side dishes, although there is plenty to choose from. We ordered Yuca Fritas (fried cassava), a Papa asada grande and Papas fritas. Bernaise sauce and cebolla horneada (steamed onions) were also added. To drink there was a highly recommended homemade lemonada "Bahia Blanca" as well as a tasty, good red house wine - served in a carafe. The food didn't take long to arrive and we received three excellently prepared steaks cooked to medium order. All side dishes were sufficient and delicious! As a steak lover, the steaks were really of high quality for me! We left the restaurant well-fed and our wallets relieved with the conclusion that steak lovers are in good hands at El Gaucho. 😉 The attached picture shows my fillet steak "Gorgonzola" with a large baked potato

Ein sehr guter Laden. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Fleisch ist hervorragend und sehr gut zubereitet. Ich habe mit meinem Bruder einen gemischten Fleischteller für ca. 75 Euro geteilt und es hat uns gesättigt. Ich kann den Laden einfach nur empfehlen wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Große Tradition in Köln: seit über 45 Jahren Gastlichkeit bei Steaks und argentinischem Rotwein. Nach dem Tod von Gründer und Besitzer Carlos Santillan führen seine Söhne das Unternehmen weiter. Treffpunkt von Schauspielern, Sportstars und kölscher Prominenz. Don Carlos kannte Lionel Messie, Diego Maradona und Tennis-Dame Gabriela Sabatini persönlich. Heute auch beliebtes Lokal für die jüngere Generation, die das typisch südamerikanische Ambiente mag. Vorspeisen und Beilagen normal. Das Fleisch ist Spitze, der argentinische Malbec erstklassig....nur darauf kommt es an.. Aktualisiert am 26. 12. 2023. 52 Jahre nach der Gründung durch Don Carlos Santillan ist dieses Steaklokal immer noch eine tolle Adresse der Kölner Gastronomie. Qualität? Siehe oben. Dazu kommt die liebenswerte Gastfreundschaft der nachfolgenden Generation (Söhne) und ihrer Mitarbeiter.

Urige Atmosphäre im argentinischen Stil, ideal für Liebhaber der gehobenen Gastronomie bei in diesem Segment adäquaten Preisen. Sehr zügige, aufmerksame Kellner; das Essen kommt innerhalb 15 bis 20 Minuten ab Bestellung, Getränke sofort. Sehr zu empfehlen als besonderes Highlight, z.B. Geburtstag. 2 Personen zahlen im Schnitt ~ 100 Euro mit 1 Getränk pro Person.

Von Ankunft bis zum Abschied ein super Erlebnis. Filet ein perfektes medium-rare, zart und vollerGeschmack. Hauswein genau richtig dazu und sehr preiswert. Bedienung freundlich und behiflich. War voll aber reichlich Platz für jeden Tisch, deshalb nicht instrusiv. Zu empfehlen.

Super, ein Ausflug nach Argentinien, ein muss in Köln

Wir waren heute Abend mit 9 Personen zum Essen. Unser Filetsteak war top und genauso wie wir es uns gewünscht haben. Der Service war beeindruckend aufmerksam, schnell,sehr freundlich und ist auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen,was nicht selbstverständlich ist. Selten noch in der heutigen Zeit zu finden. Da ich selber in der Gastronomie tätig bin und auch unbewusst drauf achte, Möchte ich mich ganz herzlich bei euch bedanken für den netten Abend! Wir kommen bald wieder.

Der für uns zuständige Kellner war freundlich, aber auf Grund der späteren Ankunft einer Gruppe von ca. 10/12 Personen überlastet. Er hat uns, zwei Personen, schlicht aus dem „Auge“ verloren. Es ist nicht angenehm, bezüglich einer weiteren Bestellung den Kellner im Auge halten zu müssen, es sollte doch eher umgekehrt sein!? Trotzdem schöner Aufenthalt. Komme gerne wieder. Grüße Harald Pohl
