Despite reservations everything was totally chaotic. None of the staff knew where to go. Unfortunately, the food arrived every 5 to 10 minutes, which was very annoying since we were there as a small group. The food was excessively greasy and not tasty. The refrigerators are in the middle of the entrance, which I don't think is nice because there was a big queue there and I couldn't really get to it. Dessert was also an absolute disaster. Nothing freshly made, everything bought cheaply. The shop is really poorly done, copied too much from others and hasn't developed its own proper system.

Nice and friendly staff, three of us were there on a Saturday evening shortly after the opening. You could tell that the kitchen wasn't yet well-established. Food very tasty. Long waiting times. In some cases, ordered dishes were brought to the table almost an hour after ordering. When the cake team is better coordinated. Most likely a great tablet restaurant

We were there with 5 people. We made a reservation, otherwise we probably wouldn't have gotten a table. It was busy, sushi took a while, but all the other dishes arrived quickly. 2 hours is more than enough to fill you up, while you wait between rounds you can put the next round in your shopping cart. There was a large selection of drinks. Non-alcoholic drinks were included in the flat rate. Beer costs 1 euro extra per beer, which is still very cheap. The food was great, there was little to complain about. Great selection for everyone, even if you're not a fan of sushi.

I would like to note that this one star is even too much, but I had to give it for the rating. We with 8 people today were a TOTAL failure, never again!! The staff was inattentive and unfriendly, half of the food didn't arrive at all and it wasn't particularly good either, every Chinese snack bar around the corner is of better quality! Several times we politely asked to place our orders and asked what it looked like and all we got was a shrug of the shoulders and annoyed, uninterested looks. Conclusion: Mecces would have been worth more!

Full 5 stars for this great restaurant! You can simply order your food on your tablet and it even arrives relatively quickly. Everything was very convincing and tasty, great ambience and friendly staff.

Maki&Tea has been open for about a week and still needs to work on its service. With a maximum time of two hours for orders, you shouldn't wait more than an hour for your food. We ordered four rounds with a total of 35 small dishes, of which unfortunately 8 didn't arrive before we paid for them. - definitely a no go. And the answer was "yes, we've only been open for a week". It doesn't have to be an issue that the team gets used to it, but you still have to come up with something. The food tasted great - at least what we were able to try. The atmosphere on Saturdays was of course very loud and very confusing with many people, as we were not the only people who had to wait for their food. The staff was otherwise friendly, but not very accommodating. Especially at the price, the restaurant concept should work and if you're still working on it, you have to pay for any cancellations - so you can go home really hungry. Edit: We were there for the second time, had a different table, during the week and a little later at the time. Unfortunately the entire order still didn't arrive, but it was much quicker and only two dishes were missing. We definitely didn't go home hungry. One measure taken by Maki and tea to better coordinate orders is to go from 5 dishes per person down to 4, which is clearly enough and apparently worked well! The service staff also seemed much more oriented this time, everyone was friendly at all times and worked quickly.

We found it quite tasty, although a bit too crowded and loud on a Sunday evening. Accordingly, it unfortunately took a little longer for the food to arrive. The service was still very friendly, even though they were stressed. We would visit the restaurant again, but avoid the weekend because it was too loud and crowded for us personally. :-)

It was our first time but certainly not our last. Really great service staff and a large selection of sushi, including something more unusual. The grilled meat was also juicy and very well cooked. Overall, a very successful evening. Thank you for that.

The restaurant offers an attractive ambience and attentive service. The quality of the food can be rated as average. The dishes were freshly prepared, but many lacked seasoning and salt. The food selection is limited and some dishes come with an additional charge. The shrimp and sweet potato fries are recommended. The churros were also ok. Overall, the restaurant is better than many comparable chains, but it cannot be described as authentic.

We really liked the quality of the food. A large selection of sushi and grilled or pasta dishes. Interesting desserts and the well-known ice cream counter and small selection of pastries round off the visit. Despite being busy, the service was always friendly and helpful. The waiting time for the orders was absolutely reasonable. However, the closer seating creates a greater background noise. The background music still needs improvement because frequent repetitions annoy some people. We'll definitely be back!

Very nice, stylish atmosphere, very nice service, which also made special requests possible, quite a small selection at lunchtime, but nicely and generously prepared. The sushi rice was too soggy for me. It would probably be grainier and a little more sour. The mini blondies and brownies were delicious. Convenience product, but really really tasty! Selection of non-alcoholic drinks was outstanding!

Great food, which is ordered from the tray. But delivered quickly. The taste is good. Everything fresh and hot. Staff friendly. Atmosphere a bit like a fast food chain. Otherwise great.

We were there on a Saturday around 5 p.m. and were super satisfied. The food came quickly and was super tasty. We booked the drinks flat rate, if you drink two drinks then it's totally worth it. From the shrimp to the salmon to the sushi, super good. Great selection of drinks. The only criticism is that the sushi is cut a bit too thick. But it really doesn't affect the taste. The atmosphere was super nice. All the waitresses were super nice and sweet. We'll be back.

Delicious sushi with a great selection! I have never had so many different variations of all-you-can-eat sushi before. I was really excited. However, I wasn't that impressed with the staff. We went there around 8:30 p.m. and of course it was well attended on a Saturday evening, no question. But since it was a bit late, many tables were free again. The staff then sat us down at a super small table for two. Even after repeatedly asking if we could sit at one of the at least 10 free, slightly larger tables (4 seats), it apparently wasn't possible. The shop was getting emptier and we found it really unfriendly. There was a free, larger table right next to us, but we weren't allowed to sit at it. Therefore we had to move all the small plates to the windowsill.

Can't understand your bad reviews. So of course there is no Japanese master sushi here, you get what you expect from an all you can eat. Lots of different choices and everything tastes delicious. We've been there twice now, once with a reservation on a Sunday and once spontaneously during the week and both times we got there straight away. In addition, the drinks flat rate is practical and I have to explicitly praise the super friendly and attentive staff.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed today after being super satisfied last week. Unfortunately today the quality of the food wasn't right, the meat was tough and the sushi rolls were way too big. In addition, we received orders twice and in the end had to have the waitress explain to us that it was our job to pay attention to when we received what and whether we ordered it or not. The dessert was also not edible. The waitress then explained to us that the leftover sushi would actually be charged for and that we would theoretically have had to pay an additional €20, even though it was food we hadn't ordered or was of poor quality. Unfortunately, the price today was not justified for the quality. Unfortunately, no one saw themselves as responsible and the mistake was passed on to us, without insight or apology.

We spontaneously went to the restaurant on a Saturday evening without a reservation. We got a table straight away and were explained how the all-you-can-eat works. The orders always arrived very quickly and were very tasty. If you like salmon you should definitely order the grilled salmon fillet, it was outstanding. Unfortunately, we didn't have the robots that you see in the pictures on the site. But the human staff was super friendly. We're not from anywhere near here, but if we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely like to stop by again.

We are thrilled. The trip from Bielefeld was worth it. We were warmly welcomed and the order could begin. The service was friendly and very quick. We had nothing to complain about about the food, on the contrary, it was warm, the portions were sufficient and, above all, very tasty.

Can't understand some of the reviews. Today, a Friday evening, we had dinner with 3 people at the Maki & Tea Restaurant. The waiters explained everything to us, gave us tips and always asked if everything was okay. Even at the end we were asked for feedback, which is not common practice in many other restaurants. Everything was always cleared away on time and alternatives were offered because the rice pudding for the sweet sushi was unfortunately no longer available. The service here really goes out of its way and it's a shame that some people describe it as "unfriendly". The food itself is really varied. Sushi comes in all forms: maki, nigiri, rolls with cheese/egg/vegetable/chicken/fish fillings to fried sushi or sweet sushi (I haven't seen this form in other places). But there is no skimping on warm dishes either and there is plenty even for people who don't know much about sushi. The dessert scores points with sweet sushi variants made from rice pudding and chocolate bar fillings, but also with crepes, apple gyoza or even churros. If that's not enough, you can enjoy additional desserts, a chocolate fountain or an ice cream station at an extra counter. I don't know what else to add to the offer? A few words about the drinks flat rate: The price for the All You Can Eat is currently just under €30 and you can (but don't have to!) book a drinks flat rate for just under €11. In addition to the standard soft drinks such as Cola/Fanta, this includes all kinds of iced teas from Elephant Bay or Granini juice spritzers. Even hot drinks such as matcha latte and normal coffees are included. Each alcoholic beer and wine drink costs €1 extra and can be ordered via the tray. The remaining alcoholic drinks are 50% discounted. If you take a cocktail (standard €8.90), you only pay an extra €4.45 for the cocktail. Bubble tea is not included in the flat rate, but costs “only” €2.90 extra. But if you grab the Elephant Bay iced tea twice, you've almost recouped the price of the drinks flat. The ambience is very nicely decorated. Modern furniture, comfortable seats and a cherry blossom tree decorate the restaurant. All in all, we were very impressed with the restaurant and will come back. Hopefully you will have rice pudding ready for the sweet sushi. :)

I went to Maki & Tea today and am absolutely thrilled. The selection was huge, but every single dish tasted great. The service was also great - empty plates were cleared away immediately and the food came shortly after we placed the order. I'm super happy that we finally have such a good sushi restaurant in Oberhausen. I'll definitely be back.

Rarely have I had such bad sushi. Since the change of ownership you can no longer eat there. The all you can eat menu isn't really varied, just standard sushi variations and a few other dishes. The maki rolls are huge and the rice tastes way too much like vinegar! The quality of the fish is also poor, everything is tough and mixed. The sashimi was a joke! You either get too much (which is obviously stupid when you pay 2 euros per plate of leftovers) or you get the wrong thing. Unfortunately I can't recommend it any further. Too bad :(

Went there spontaneously with my partner today (Thursday around 7:45 p.m.). The atmosphere is very nice, the staff is super friendly and the food is damn tasty! Among the restaurants with this concept, Maki & Tea has immediately become our favorite.

Large selection, everything was very tasty and not too crowded in the early afternoon.

My original review was for the EDO restaurant. This was taken over by Maki&Tea. We were there today for the first and last time. The food was ok. The focus here is on quantity instead of quality. Well, I even understand that. But what I don't understand is how you can get something wrong or forget something on almost every round. If that happens once, it's still ok somewhere. But really on almost every lap? We really enjoyed staying with the previous owner. But unfortunately not recommended.

It was really bad... we were regulars at Edo Sushi and loved it so much. Now this store and everything is catastrophic :( Sushi is 95% rice and 5% content, filling sushi and nothing more. Fried things are oily and mushy. We didn’t recommend the store to any of our friends… it’s a shame for our €80 for the two of us

Only the all-you-can-eat buffet was available for €29.90. But I wasn't that hungry and there wasn't anything about it on the internet. We then left again. The ambience is quite nice, but the location and parking options are terrible.

I was there with my girlfriend on Tuesday and it was just great. A super friendly welcome at the entrance and the entire system was explained to us (we were absolute newbies to this type of all you can). When we arrived at the table, Mandy introduced herself to us and clarified all the remaining questions. We were immediately asked whether we wanted to have the all you can drink in addition to the all you can eat and so this was noted in tab right away when we set it up. Ordering is super easy and the staff is immediately available to answer any questions you may have. The food was consistently tasty except for one or two weaknesses, where we were immediately offered a replacement. (The team as a whole is still very strong and still has to find its feet on some things. However, criticism is received with great interest in order to improve it.) I don't find the 15-minute order block to be a problem at all, as the ordered food gradually arrives throughout the group come to the table as they are freshly prepared. This means that this lockdown period is easily over by the time you have finished your last meal. There is a large selection of food and an almost overwhelming selection of drinks included in the flat rate. Everything from cola to non-alcoholic beer is available in the self-service refrigerators, and warm drinks can be ordered via the tab. Alcoholic drinks are also ordered via the tab, but cost extra (but that was irrelevant for us). Conclusion: It's just fun! It's an all-you-can-eat restaurant where you can sit comfortably together as a couple without having to constantly run to the buffet.

This new owner doesn't know what real sushi tastes like, how ridiculous. Sushi rice tastes like sticky rice with too much vinegar, and the rice coating is too thick :))) We would even have to laugh :))) They roll the sushi roll like a 2 day apprentice :))) Sashimi cut too thin, what a disgrace!!!

Unfortunately not recommended for large groups. At one table nothing was received at first, at the other table nothing was received at all and we only had one round. The waiters were nice and accommodating. Nevertheless, they didn't come to meet us (the table where only one round arrived). It was argued that one should have a little leniency. A feeling of communal eating was not awakened among our troops. I personally didn't think the food was that good, but it's a matter of taste

Yesterday we had dinner with 7 people, we didn't get our first round at all, after we ordered the second one, maybe 3 dishes came. My son's fries came after almost 2 hours after asking several times. We got maybe 5 of our sushi rounds. The meat is completely cooked through been. None of us were full. When we paid, they wanted to bring us the missing sushi rounds, but in the meantime it was 10:30 p.m.!!! The staff was friendly, but unfortunately it's no longer good when you pay 40 euros with the drinks flat and leave a restaurant hungry. At the end we got a 10 euro voucher for 7 people.

So, is it really sushi? I ask myself 100 times. We are a special fan of sushi, let's be honest, it's not worth eating here. You should either all u can drink or all u can decide, not all u can drink and eat like advertising 😂 the sushi doesn't taste good at all, too big and almost everywhere with fresh cheese and rocket, miso soup tastes like vegetable broth, without tofu. Without wasabi, kimchi tastes like vinegar. We have to wait a long time for the order. So, disappointed.

We reserved a table for 7 p.m. but had to wait until 7:25 p.m. We then waited over half an hour for anything to happen. Our neighboring table advised us to leave because they had been there since 5 p.m. and had only had two rounds. Generally very crowded, maybe 4 tables of about 30 had food, the others were waiting. We will definitely go again to review the food but not on a Saturday evening.

A very nice restaurant with a great ambience, the service was friendly and the food tasted quite good. BUT! The price performance ratio is not appropriate. 30 euros buffet and an additional 10.90 euros for drinks flat rate, alcoholic drinks are excluded from the price and have to be paid additionally, in the flat rate alcoholic drinks only cost half. Plus they are EXTREME!! Long waiting times an absolute disaster. I had to wait 2 hours for a dish today. The dishes that were ordered via a tablet were not even brought or prepared (ATTENTION!! SOME DISHES COST AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE!) despite repeated requests to the service People were always put off with the justification that everything had to work itself out first. The end of the story was that I paid 40 euros this evening even though I didn't receive 80% of the food I ordered. As an apology I received a 5 euro voucher... It's questionable whether we'll come back again.

We were there for the reopening of Maki&Tea and it was delicious and everything was fresh. The atmosphere is very inviting and modern, there are various seating options and everything is very stylishly furnished, you can tell that a lot of love has been put into it. Despite the higher number of customers, we were served quickly and the staff was very friendly. It definitely wasn't the last time here 👌🏻!

Today I was in the new restaurant maki & tea, this restaurant is extremely nice and modernly furnished and the food is very tasty, I tried a lot of things and everything tasted very good and the staff is extremely nice and friendly. We had the waitress Mandy with the red ones hair, she was a real sweetheart, I also thought the price was great. All in all, it was a nice evening with great food and drinks. I'll be coming to you more often now, thank you very much 😘👏🏽👍🏼

Today at the new opening everything that could possibly have gone wrong went wrong. We waited 45 minutes for our sushi and only when we asked again were we told that a mistake had been made. The drinks were not served like the pictures in the profile there was no kind of decoration on the drink. When we wanted to pay, the EC devices suddenly didn't work and only cash or Paypal was possible. All in all, unfriendly service staff and the service leaves a lot to be desired!!!

Accordingly, wanted to write a review and see that my review of Edo was simply adopted for Maki. ***My conclusion about Maki and Tea***: Service staff are friendly, food was ok, waiting time was a little longer (but it's ok because it's the first day) However, I personally think that edo sushi was simply the best. :)

So we were there for a test meal and there was a huge selection of sushi that was also very tasty. Otherwise everything went well in terms of service and the decoration in the restaurant itself makes you very inviting to eat. The couch is very comfortable

Review goes to EDO: It's just an unbelievable shame that this store has been closed for so long and apparently won't be reopening. We were there often and enjoyed it very much. Everything always tasted excellent. Everything was fresh and warm when it came to the table. We really spent many, many hours at EDO with friends. At the end, we would have been happy if it had been said that it would be closed and not that it was a renovation. If you open again at some point, somewhere, my girls and I will be the first to come eat in the store, I promise you! ❤️ all the best!

Even before the opening, I think it's an outrage that Maki&Tea is taking over around 720 very positive reviews from its predecessor, Edo, without having done anything at all. Decorating with other people's feathers before the start... works for you...

Delicious food, good service. Have been there a few times, service is always immediate and the food is served to the table very quickly and warm. Salmon and beef have never been served dry, which is often the case in similar restaurants. I'm excited to see what the restaurant will look like after the renovation.

Edo Sushi is a great restaurant if you want to eat good sushi in a comfortable and relaxed manner. There is always space, the atmosphere is calm and the friendly robot brings you your order. The sushi quality is decent, there is a good dessert menu and the service is always friendly. I can only recommend.

Reserved a table online for my birthday. I was wondering why I didn't get any confirmation. At the agreed time we stood in front of a closed restaurant. The only sign on the door that said it was being renovated, even though the store didn't look like it was being renovated. Two days later I received an email with a photo of the note. Of course that doesn't help me anymore.

Is the restaurant still open? Google says it is temporarily closed. I received a message over the phone saying that the number was not in use (I had reached someone to reserve a table a few weeks ago) There is also no response via WhatsApp.

The food was great and they have a really great selection of dishes. I've been there a few times and have never been disappointed. Price/performance ratio is definitely right here and what I think is very good is that it's not too loud there even when there's a lot going on. I'll definitely be back!

The shop looks neat and promising, but the sushi wasn't fresh! The salmon in particular had a foul smell, which is a shame because I only came for the salmon. Sashimi is not included in the price either! The service wasn't good either. We waited a long time for our food, there were often mix-ups and they weren't friendly either. Total disappointment! In summary, not recommended at all for €33. Never again! :(

The food is great. The restaurant is well maintained and the staff is very nice. There are parking spaces right in front of the door. If you like sushi, you'll get your money's worth. There is fresh fruit for dessert. A dream! I will go there more often.

Value for money for 32.90 p.p. is an absolute disaster. Endless usury. Prices are hidden so that after the rather standard sushi there is a nasty surprise. Employees themselves have no idea what types of fish are served. Orders must be entered impersonally via tablet. Ambience is ok with the nice service robot. Anyway. Otherwise never recommended. You'll never see us there again. A pity!

My partner and I spontaneously went to your store for the first time today. And are totally thrilled! In contrast to many other sushi shops, the selection of sushi is totally unusual and diverse. Far from the food, all the staff were very friendly and tried to clear the plates quickly. When it comes to the store itself, we can say that it is super spacious and you can have a good conversation without a lot of background noise. The little robot is a cool benefit. In the Overall, you have gained new “regular customers”. We will be back and would be happy to recommend you!

Food was good, only everything with non-raw tuna/salmon was spicy. Average food for too high a price. Yes, the food there is fresh, some of the individual dishes are tasty, but unfortunately there was nothing that blew us away or impressed us. Super brilliant, fantastically delicious

The food was delicious, the service was very friendly and quick. Would love to come back.

Local is ok. Something else. Food and drinks are good. Food comes quickly, but we had problems keeping the dishes apart because you could order up to 5 things and there were a lot of people there.

Very good all-you-can-eat sushi. Everything is fresh and tastes very good. The warm dishes are also delicious. Ordering with the tray is great, sometimes a robot brings it, sometimes the staff on site. This is always very friendly. Everything is quickly put away. All in all, it's one of the best sushi restaurants I know (and I go for sushi often).

The food is ordered via an iPad. It tasted good too. What I didn't like was that there was little fruit and nothing new was refilled 1 hour before closing time.

Das Essen war lecker, allerdings sind die Portionen sehr klein. Sollte man mit einberechnen, da man nur 5 Runden bestellen kann. Manchmal kam es uns so vor, als würde man am Fließband essen. Der Stress der Servicekräfte war deutlich zu spüren. Unsere Teller wurden wortlos abgeräumt und wir wurden nicht einmal gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist. Stattdessen wurden wir alle 5 Minuten daran erinnert, eine neue Runde zu bestellen. Scheinbar sollte der Tisch schnell wieder frei werden. Das Ambiente hat uns auch nicht wirklich überzeugt. Auf großem Platz, viel zu viele Tische meiner Meinung nach, viel zu laut und man hat einfach keine schöne Zeit für sich. Insgesamt haben wir für 2x „Buffet“, eine Fanta und ein Wasser 86€ bezahlt. Unserer Meinung nach nicht gerechtfertigt.

Hallo zusammen! Ich hoffe euch geht es gut. Ich wollte euch kurz von meinem ersten Besuch in einem neuen Restaurant erzählen. Es war wirklich beeindruckend! Das Essen und der Service haben mich komplett fasziniert. Obwohl es keinen Lillet auf der Karte gab, hat die Kellnerin extra nachgeschaut und ihn nach meinem Wunsch mit Ginger Ale gemischt. Das allein zeigt, wie viel Wert sie auf erstklassigen Service legen. Das Essen war einfach unglaublich! Jedes Gericht wurde mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Nachdem wir bereits die dritte Runde bestellt hatten, wollten wir zahlen und gehen. Aber die Damen waren total überrascht und meinten, wir sollten doch noch bleiben, da es noch Dessert gab. Wir haben dankend abgelehnt und sind glücklich und zufrieden aus dem Laden gegangen. Falls ihr also mal Lust auf ein außergewöhnliches Restauranterlebnis habt, kann ich euch diesen Ort nur wärmstens empfehlen. Viele Grüße
