Sensational – a truly fantastic experience. Our waiter, Uwe, guided us through the evening with warmth and humor. I can't comment on the ambiance in the restaurant, of course; it was pitch-dark. But we were able to enjoy an aperitif and a greeting from the kitchen in the foyer. Everything was excellent!!! We'll definitely be back.

We commissioned the catering for our wedding from the Sinneswandel restaurant and were completely satisfied with everything. The food was fantastic, all of our guests loved it, and even the vegetarian options were seamlessly integrated into the overall menu concept. The service surrounding the wedding catering was truly commendable – personal and professional advice, tastings on-site, direct contact and coordination with the owner and chef, smooth and focused implementation on-site, excellent service staff, and uncomplicated organization of details – in short, we are extremely satisfied with the entire catering experience. We received a voucher for the "Dinner in the Dark" as a gift, reserved a table, and were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed in the bright foyer, brought the menus and a small greeting from the kitchen, and explained how the evening would unfold. After we had chosen between the four menus (meat, fish, vegetarian, surprise), glanced at the drinks menu, and ordered our first drink, our waiter, the lovely Uwe, arrived and escorted us into the dark dining room. Uwe confidently and purposefully escorted us to our table with a duck walk and hands on our shoulders. As a guest, you're truly lost in the room without a waiter, because it's truly completely dark. There's not even the slightest light source. But Uwe (who, by the way, is blind, like all the waiters in the dark restaurant) didn't mind; he explained what we had in front of us at our seats and, a few moments later, brought us our drinks and the first course. Every time he brought us something, Uwe explained exactly what it was and exactly where he would put it. This way, even in the dark, you had a rough idea of what the table in front of you looked like at that moment and roughly where everything was. Eating it turned out to be very challenging (what else could you expect). You felt quite lost and at times a bit stupid when you put your fork in your mouth for the third time in a row and there was nothing on it. But what the heck, no one could see you anyway 😂. The meal itself was delicious. We had the fish and the vegetarian menu and were completely satisfied with courses 1 to 4. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening; the other guests in the room were audibly enjoying themselves too. When we were finished with everything, full and satisfied, Uwe escorted us back to the bright anteroom. A little relieved to be able to see again, you can now ask the waiters at the bar to show you exactly what you had on your plates in the dark. Pretty interesting! All in all, a very enjoyable and somewhat educational experience that everyone should try at least once, because it made us realize once again how lucky we are and how much we take seeing for granted. A fantastic experience! We treated ourselves to a visit to the dark restaurant for Christmas, and four of us were there. It's truly pitch black; you can't see a thing. We had a lot of fun guessing the surprise menu. They even took my pregnant wife into consideration, and the menu was slightly adjusted for me. All the staff were super friendly! The visit was definitely worth it.

It was a fantastic experience and I recommend it to everyone. Marco looked after us brilliantly and made us laugh a lot with his charming manner. And for anyone who thinks, like us, "Oh, we'll see something," but no, we really can't see anything at all. The food and drink were absolutely fantastic. But what impressed us most was what life is like for someone who can't see anything. We walked out the door and the world was bright and colorful again. Thank you for the experience we were able to have for two hours.

You can start off relaxed with breakfast. There's a good selection of fresh and delicious food. Individual dishes are prepared fresh upon request. Afterward, we stepped outside for half an hour. No problem, as the table was reserved. Afterward, we went to the dark area. It was a new experience with very delicious food.

It was an all-around wonderful and very interesting evening. The three hours flew by for us. Lydia was our lovely companion, guiding us through our menu in a very pleasant way. Each course was simply perfect and an absolute explosion of flavors in the mouth. We can 100% recommend this special experience!

The Sinneswandel is highly recommended. Enjoy food using only your senses of taste and smell. Immerse yourself in another world. Our server was very attentive. He explained everything. We will be back. The menu itself was very harmonious and delicious. Unfortunately, one or two people used a light source, but that's not the team's fault. At the end, you can see what was served.

Top concept, an all-round successful experience

We'd been wanting to visit a dark restaurant for a long time. This time it was finally here, and we weren't disappointed. Lydia was our guide. We had a lot of fun, especially at the beginning when we were still alone and were allowed to guess freely, because we had chosen the Whispering World (the surprise) menu. The menus are designed so that there's one with meat, one with fish, one vegetarian, and one unknown. One menu changes every month, so you essentially have a completely new menu every four months. The food was delicious and so unusual that you rarely guess everything. It was definitely worth the experience, and I also like the concept of being served by blind waiters. Immerse yourself in their world and develop an understanding of the difficulties of everyday life. Highly recommended!

An absolutely exceptional evening, both in terms of cuisine and service, one we will remember for a long time to come. Allergies and histamine intolerances were expertly and meticulously addressed, and all the dishes were skillfully prepared. Starting with the amuse-bouche and the delicious fruit cocktail to welcome us, we were then treated to four extremely tasty courses and delicious drinks, leaving nothing to be desired. Marko served us with incredible attention to detail, even taking time for a chat. The absolute darkness sharpened our senses, and yet there were still a few surprises to be found when we finally unveiled the beautifully presented delicacies. Our waitress/guide Lydia was great! :) The atmosphere in the lobby was very nice, and in the dark area, I liked that it wasn't too loud or cramped. The vegetarian menu was unfortunately only okay (the soup and dessert were great, but the starter and main course didn't impress me). Unfortunately, it was also the only vegetarian option (out of four), which could be better in 2025. Still, a nice experience and a great voucher idea!

We had a voucher for a 4-course meal. We were greeted very warmly at the bar, were able to choose our menu, and then we were taken into total darkness. Huge respect to our waitress Lydia (and the others too, of course), she looked after us all evening. We somehow ate our 4 courses, some of them with our fingers 😅😅😅, but it was a fantastic experience. When we were finished, we were escorted back out and looked at our menus on a monitor. They explained what we had eaten. The pictures looked fantastic. Now, a suggestion from our side: couldn't you write the individual menus with pictures and text on a piece of paper and give them to the guest at the end? Many people take pictures of their food while eating. But that's not possible in a restaurant. Otherwise, it was a really great evening and big compliments to all the staff, you are great, keep it up 👌🏻👍🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

We were there for brunch. There weren't many guests, which is exactly what we liked. Since it's a small restaurant, it wasn't overcrowded. Everything was very good and delicious. The food was constantly being replenished. The service was excellent...we felt completely at home. We were able to enjoy lunch in the dark...it was an experience. The explanations and atmosphere before consumption were very friendly and helpful. The service from the blind staff was professional and very pleasant. We asked ourselves, do you eat with a knife and fork or with your fingers? The decision was made without coordination. the fingers in order to be able to grasp the perception. We had a voucher for the Wandelbrunch and we really enjoyed it! In the morning there was a breakfast buffet in the Hellen with a very tasty selection and after a short digestive walk along the Elbe (the table is reserved until 2 p.m. so you can easily take a break) we ate lunch in the dark. We also thought it was great that the portions were small, so you could order several dishes and not be overwhelmed by the initially unusual food without seeing it. We really enjoyed it and it was an incredibly great experience. Thanks! :)

A very interesting experience. You really can't see anything - nothing at all. That’s when you start to really appreciate your senses 😂 The service was very friendly and careful. I can say about the ambience in the anteroom: pleasant and modernly furnished. Logically, not much can be said about the guest rooms, but there was plenty of space XD The food wasn't the typical fare you're used to, but the quantity and quality were appropriate and just something new, which I found very nice. Visiting the dark restaurant was truly an extraordinary experience that I can recommend to everyone! You can choose the food in advance or let yourself be surprised and your senses will definitely be sharpened. At first it's unusual because you really can't see anything, but after about 10 minutes you get used to the darkness. The food tastes extremely intense and the staff is incredibly friendly. I find the concept of blind people working here particularly impressive. It gives you a little insight into their lives and makes you appreciate being able to see even more in hindsight. I have great respect for the team and their ability to orient themselves and work so confidently and professionally. However, one point of criticism remains: the gentleman at the counter who welcomes the guests was unfortunately very negative! Right from the start he seemed quite aloof and condescending in some situations - especially towards women. Towards the end, we wanted to clarify a question with his colleague, but before she could answer, he rudely cut her off and exposed her in front of us, as if to demonstrate that he was the only one in charge. This behavior was not only unpleasant towards us, but above all completely inappropriate towards the friendly and helpful colleague. He should urgently be taught rules of conduct when dealing with people!

It was a positive experience from start to finish. We were welcomed very nicely. It was well explained how the meal would work. I think price performance is super fair. When we saw it afterwards, the food was very high quality. Even though we couldn't see it at the time 😁 The waiter was very nice and somehow funny. I actually found it particularly great that after eating we evaluated the food and were shown pictures of what was on the plate. We chose the menu beforehand, but in the dark you still have no idea what we actually ate. So thumbs up. It's worth an experience!

The menu is ridiculously expensive. 4 courses are 73 euros for one person. There were two of us and we paid 161.50 each for a 4-course meal and a single drink. You can choose from 4 menus, but we weren't told that you could have had a 3-course menu, that was simply decided, and that you could change the soups, for example. So my wife had to eat a soup that she didn't actually want and then had to be stupid about why she didn't finish it. The waiter does a great job. He is blind. However, the way he talked to us was really bad. We found it very distant and accusatory. It was really a disappointing experience. There were several other things that made this evening very unpleasant. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it and won't venture there again. Very unfortunate. Expected too much.

Wir waren 8 Personen und konnten aus einem Drei- bzw. Viergangmenue auswählen. Der Geschmack war gut, der Preis im oberen Segment. Während des Essens hatte ich Appetit auf einen Wein. Rosewein Deutschland oder (?). Da es nicht möglich ist, in der absoluten Dunkelheit eine Karte zu lesen, vertraute ich der Bedienung. 14,99€ für 1/8 ist nicht unerheblich - in einem Sternerestaurant. Die Karte zu Beginn im Vorraum im Kopf zu behalten, ist wohl unmöglich. Ich hätte dazu einen Hinweis unter diesen Bedingungen erwartet. Meine 15% Trinkgeld sehe ich nun aus einer anderen Sicht. Wegen mehrerer Gruppen im Raum wurde es leider z.T. sehr laut.

We ate in the dark restaurant in January and were served by Birgit. It was our second visit to a dark restaurant. The experience itself was very exciting. The service was very courteous and very attentive. The surprise menu was extremely tasty, although the quantity was a bit small. There were 4 of us at the table and we had 4 slices of bread that were very thinly sliced ​​for a dip. What was also a little lacking was some information. We expected Birgit to tell us a little more. Towards the end we were able to ask a few questions, which we were happy to answer. What was unfortunately extremely disturbing was that some guests simply didn't know how to behave. Burping loudly and scaring each other right at the next table was just incredibly inappropriate.

However, whether the voucher value - for us it was €129 without drinks - reflects the value of the food is in the eye of the beholder.

An experience! You can enjoy a 3 or 4 course meal in complete darkness. Beforehand you will be warmly greeted and briefed on the special features and procedures of the evening. Food and drink selections are made in the illuminated bar area until you are personally picked up by the service staff (for us it was Marco) and brought to your table. The rest of the evening is about tasting, hearing, smelling, feeling and enjoying. The service was perfect. I won't say more - experience it yourself.
