Two of us went to the restaurant at Lake Berta and were unfortunately very disappointed. The minced steak with feta cheese had obviously only been thawed – when we cut it, the entire plate was full of water. The meat was tough, rubbery, and by no means tender. The fries were also mediocre at best. I had to return half the plate. Value for money: absolutely terrible. The tapas platter for €17.90 was also disappointing – instead of fresh, crusty bread, we were served soft, sliced ​​pre-made baguette. Far too expensive for what was offered. We told the waitress our feedback directly, and she promised to pass it on to the kitchen – unfortunately, there was no response, no apology, no discount, nothing. Conclusion: If you want to eat well, you should really steer clear of this restaurant. Neither the quality of the food nor the price nor the customer service are up to scratch. I absolutely cannot understand the many 5-star reviews. It has nothing to do with good Croatian cuisine and is probably made by people who generally have little experience with good food. Visited once and never again!

No, the food and drinks are far too expensive for the quality. Portions aren't particularly generous, even for the Swiss, who are used to such high prices! 20g of ketchup is charged separately for €1. We wanted something small to eat with our aperitif drinks. There was nothing available; they didn't want to make a small bowl of fries; they were inflexible and unfriendly to customers. It would probably have been better and cheaper at a fast food place.

Of particular note is the restaurant's stylish space for celebrations... ideal for weddings, birthdays, or corporate parties. Combined with the outstanding cuisine and the experienced service team, every event becomes a special experience. The restaurant at Lake Berta is not only a place for culinary delights, but also an excellent address for private and business celebrations. A clear recommendation for both gourmets and anyone who wants to experience authentic Croatian cuisine in the best atmosphere.

Given the price, the food is expected to be much better. And it is just decent. I've tried the restaurants around and they are more tasty and cheaper (e.g. Aperol drink is nearly 12 euro here - my most expensive aperol so far)

A very tasty schnitzel with fries and salad, in a perfectly reasonable portion size :-) Everything was served quickly and very friendly. Finish with a black coffee on the lakeside terrace. I'll definitely be back.

The food is delicious, but it's ridiculous to pay €17.50 for a tapas plate as a starter, plus a €5 price premium because you want to share the meal. The service seemed very aloof, and we weren't really taken seriously, even though we were there as young football fans.

The taste is good, but considering the ratio of meat to mushrooms, which, by the way, weren't even mentioned on the menu, you can hardly call it chicken strips. Especially not if you don't like mushrooms. If you complain, you might get a reaction. It's a shame, but otherwise, it's not a bad place.

We managed to get a table on the terrace on Mother's Day after making a phone call. The staff made a really nice impression on us ♥️ We all enjoyed the food. ❣️

Unfortunately, the service was beyond poor. There were four of us there. Three of us ordered a main course, while the fourth only wanted a small side salad and fries. We were refused this for whatever reason. The table we sat at was very dirty and was only cleaned after we asked for it. The apple spritzer we ordered had some unidentifiable rum floating in it. After complaining, we received a new one. The same thing happened again. We weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks. The plates of food sat untouched on our table for over an hour. The waiter seemed to be sitting at the bar smoking the entire time. Given the prices they charge for food and drinks, the service should be much better. All in all, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. You shouldn't treat guests like that.

Beautiful garden terrace on Lake Berta. Overall, an approachable restaurant. Very nice waiter and waitress. Prices...maybe a little more expensive but everything has become more expensive. In any case, we felt comfortable and ate very well.

Very nicely decorated room for celebrations and very friendly staff. We recently celebrated our daughter’s communion here. It was very nice again. Thank you!

Super tasty here with a great view

The location is very nice to sit outside. Prices are quite high, but unfortunately the quality of the food doesn't quite match that. The longos are delicious. Tip for the operator: You should urgently do something about the woodworms in the beams - they trickled down onto the table!

The restaurant thrives on its location and the nice ambience. The employees are very nice. The food is ok. But unfortunately the price/performance doesn't match. I've eaten much better elsewhere for less money. Around 27 euros for a pork schnitzel with sauce, fries and salad is steep.

A very nicely designed restaurant and really great hosts. We found a breakfast buffet there, something I haven't seen in a long time. Everything was super delicious, lovingly prepared and really tasty.

After a nice walk along the Wedau, we wanted to go to the restaurant on Lake Berta for a cup of café. We haven't been there for many years because we didn't like it back then. But we were blinded by the Cafe “Meindl” sign. When we entered the poorly decorated restaurant (Christmas?) the innkeeper asked us if we had reserved, which we said no. We said that we “just” wanted to have something to drink and would stay for a maximum of half an hour, which didn’t go down well. Reason: because of Christmas! Well, we thought, you can probably understand that, so we each ordered a mixed salad for €7.90, which would have been OK if it had been delivered as such. What we got was a small side salad from the bag, with two pieces of tomato, two pieces of cucumber and onions; in a mini bowl! No decorative herbs (chives or parsley) and completely tasteless! We only got pepper and salt upon request. Then the cappuccino came in a Meindl cup. It looked good, but unfortunately it was only lukewarm! 👎 The large bottle of water was cold, but the lemon was omitted! Now came the bill: 1 bottle of water, two lukewarm cappuccinos, two mini side salads: €31.00!!! Surely no one can be mad at us if we can't give a good rating here. Because the ambience leaves a lot to be desired apart from the lake view, the service adapts accordingly and the prices are an absolute joke for what is delivered! In summary, it should be mentioned that this restaurant is not recommended, the beautiful view from the terrace doesn't help either!

Nice staff, spoke good English. Food was tasty and not very expensive. We received our food quickly once we ordered. There are few parking spaces on the road, but there is a parking lot further away and there was no one there.

We stopped here while passing through because of the good reviews. We were warmly welcomed and the view of the lake is quite nice. However, I expect more taste for burgers with fries over €20. In my opinion, the dishes were put together carelessly. Remoulade (instead of homemade burger sauce) and raw onions on the chicken burger didn't go well with the dish. We were charged an additional €4 for small bowls of mayo and ketchup. We didn't even order ketchup. More than €55 for two small colas and two dishes was not justified for us. Conclusion for us: full but not happy :(

Just what we were looking for after a long day at work. A quiet place, a relaxing atmosphere, good food and beer, friendly staff and also a pleasant view. The menu also offers some traditional Balkan dishes. Maybe we were slightly above average in terms of costs, but all in all we paid willingly.

I always find it nice to be here. Good food, good service, great terrace overlooking the lake.

We came with 4 people for lunch. No "small" lunch dishes on the menu. 1 person only wanted something small, but sharing a dish with 2 people was not possible and a small salad was not possible because it was not a main course. In the end we only had a drink, but she ended up serving a dish for one of us! The rest didn't eat anything that they could! Very special. The dish served was fine.

After dinner together in a small group, one of the dinner participants wrote a review that included both praise and criticism. After some time, this person was accused of defamation via email. The restaurant is beautifully located by the lake, the service is very friendly and you can park your bike in the restaurant. Class! But the drinks are very expensive (large cola unfortunately still for €5.5 and Wildberry Lillet for €9.50). The portion of side fries was very small, the rice was cold and changing the side dishes costs €2. We probably won't come back...

The food was nicely prepared and tasted good too. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the price was very high, considering that there was no side salad and that ketchup and mayonnaise had to be purchased separately.

We were at the Duisburg Zoo and wanted to go out for dinner afterwards. So I did a bit of research and decided on this restaurant based on what Langos had to offer. It is about 8 minutes from the zoo and is right on a lake. The atmosphere is very nice! We were warmly welcomed and looked after. The food was super tasty. The portion was very good and was served in a timely manner. Price/performance top. Would love to come back.

We were there for the first time yesterday. What can I say, the food was great. I know a lot of Balkan restaurants in Duisburg and the surrounding area, but I definitely had the tastiest cevape here. My husband was thrilled with the grill plate. Everything was super delicious! Prices 1-3€ more than in other Balkan restaurants, but the quality and taste are great! You're also happy to pay a little more. Really recommended! We sat outside on the terrace with a beautiful view of the Bertaser.

9 euros for red and white fries is way too expensive

Had a very bad experience here. The pasta has way too much garlic and the schnitzel has a sickening amount of cheese on top. Moreover, if children want to share a plate of pasta, they will be charged €5 extra... and if you want to choose a salad instead, that's not even allowed...

Very bad restaurant! Our children wanted to share a Porsie because the pores are large. This was allowed, but I had to pay an additional 5 euros. And a small salad wasn't even allowed, ridiculous!

There is a beautiful terrace with a sunny view and food from a chip shop at restaurant prices...

The food is simply delicious every time. The people are great and you feel at home there. We also celebrated our wedding upstairs in the hall with the beautiful view. I can only recommend this restaurant to everyone. We definitely come here more often.

For a classic Langos, paid €14.50. For a fried piece of yeast dough. At the Beecker fair the thing costs €8. I really don't know whether to laugh or cry. There was no gold in it either, I ate really carefully... Unbelievable rip off here.

After several visits, it's time for a review for this top restaurant. Let's start with service. No matter how full it is, the waitress is ready at the entrance and offers you a choice of seats. The waiters were always very open and friendly and you never have to wait long to be served. The location offers an incredibly beautiful view of Lake Berta, both when you sit inside and outside on the terrace. The good thing is that the terrace is covered so you can sit outside even on rainy days. The selection on the menu is varied but not so large that you are overwhelmed and cannot decide. Pasta, burgers, fish and much more… definitely something for everyone. For us as Croatians, the quality of the grilled specialties at the restaurant here in Duisburg is unbeatable. Everything is very fresh, well seasoned and fried to perfection. The side dishes are also far from “ready-made”. The dishes are always beautifully prepared... here you can eat with your eyes in mind. 😊 What's also worth mentioning is the selection of langos, which, as far as I know, you won't find in any other restaurant in the area. Considering the generous size of the portions, the service offered and the beautiful location, the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. We always enjoy coming here and can only recommend it from the bottom of our hearts. Keep it up! 👍🏼

The location on the lake and the service are fine. I can't understand the good reviews for the food. Unfortunately, a lot of finished products were used and that doesn't justify the price level.

We were traveling by bike and actually just wanted to go somewhere for a drink. Enjoy the last rays of sunshine in the evening. ☀️😍 Then we stand in front of the restaurant, the friendly owner was standing in front of the door and we asked: “Can we come in?” Since it didn’t seem like it from the outside. Then a wonderful terrace with a view of the lake awaited us, very tasty Balkan food, very courteous, friendly and fast staff and on top of that we were actually allowed to take our bikes into the restaurant and leave them there. A very perfect service and so we not only drank there, but also ate delicious food. Thank you ☺️

Of course you pay for this combination, but in my opinion it is still very expensive, so the overall rating is “only” 3 stars. I'll still be back, I once wrote I came again! My shrimp salad for just under €20 was missing a side dish, which was added without apology when asked. 5 minutes later our host (a regular customer there) asked if he could order this side dish that was missing from the salad separately... Answer: Kitchen closed! At 9:10 p.m. I asked if I could have another beer: an annoyed look at the clock: "Well, okay, for once" ... to be allowed to sell me a KöPi for €6.10!

I was there with a friend and we each had a grill plate with a side salad and a large drink. Unfortunately, I have to say that the salad was really not good, very boring and unloving. The meat wasn't seasoned well and the amount of side dishes wasn't much either. We both paid 28 euros. We would have expected more for the price.

It's a very nice location, but today friends from the swimming club got some fries for their children and they cost 7 euros. That doesn't work anymore.

Service: We reserved a table for 5 people. When we arrived, 10 minutes earlier, our table had already been passed on. Because of this, we were seated at a larger table that was also reserved. When these came, the next problem arose. And the restaurant was NOT completely full. A disadvantage for those who had reserved. We sat at a table for a good 10 minutes and were neither asked for drinks nor given the menu. Only after asking did we receive the tickets and were allowed to order. After about another 10 minutes they arrived and we were allowed to order. Now there was the next problem, we had a child and someone who wasn't very hungry and just wanted fries. This was rejected, you had to order a menu. After the remaining people present ordered grilled plates etc., apparently enough money was collected to approve the fries. After about 20 minutes the food came. So 40 minutes from sitting down to eating. The food was ok. Not bad, not good, just ok Either the meat items were oversalted or tasted like no salt at all Mayo costs extra and the portion of fries, €4 Ambiance Could be renovated. Toilets are dirty This was our second time there, unfortunately the last time

Wow wow and wow again. Really nice restaurant. I've walked past it so many times but have never been inside. Tried it out yesterday. It was really absolutely brilliant. Food 5 star location outstanding and service and ambience top. We will come back.

Sehr gutes Essen nach Balkanart. Die Portionen sind ordentlich, der Preis ist okay. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, zügig bedient und hatten einen schönen Abend. Im Sommer kann man draußen sitzen, direkt am See mit toller Aussicht. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Dieses Restaurant haben wir im November besucht, es gab leider keine Möglichkeit, draußen zu sitzen. Das Ambiente innen ist nicht sehr ansprechend, dafür war der Service sehr ansprechend. Auch das Essen.... Kürbissuppe und Nudelgericht war beides sehr schmackhaft.

Ein Ort, den wir für Treffen mit Freunden bevorzugen. Es gibt Optionen für jeden Geschmack. Insbesondere die Dessertkarte ist hervorragend!

Ein wirklich schöner Ort zum Beisammensein. Jederzeit wieder und ich komme wieder. Selten mich so angenehm gefühlt habe.

Gutgemachter Aperol Spritz, Tapasplatte sehr lecker, aber für 17,90 € etwas wenig. Dazu 4 Pizzabrötchen, viel zu wenig für den leckeren Dip.Auch der Aperol mit 8,50 € recht hochpreisig. Der Service freundlich und schnell .Die tolle Lage am See muss vom Gast voll bezahlt werden.

Leider etwas versteckt und voll aus den 70zigern. Da helfen auch keine neuen Möbel. Service super auf Zack, perfekt. Sehr höflich und aufmerksam. Toiletten alt aber sauber. Essen.... rustikal, mir hat es geschmeckt und sehr gut gefallen. Terrasse mit schöner Aussicht. Ich fahre da auf jeden Fall noch mehrmals zum Essen hin.

Wir waren vor kurzem zu zweit dort essen. Ich war schön öfters dort , leider waren wir dieses mal ein bisschen enttäuscht. Ich hatte ein Radler, die Sprite da drin war ziemlich abgestanden. Ok ,wir waren die ersten Gäste. Das Essen war ok, die Pommes waren ein bisschen matschig und die Holzbrettchen auf denen serviert wird, sind ein bisschen unappetitlich. Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Preise finde ich etwas hoch, für die Qualität.
