Döner & Pizza Kaya in Mannheim

At first, I didn't think anything of ordering a kebab from you, but the next day I regretted it. I had massive bloating, stomach pain, and terrible diarrhea. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

The food arrived after about 70 minutes. The ketchup had been expired for five months. The fries were terrible, as if they'd been sitting around for days. The meat was halfway decent (hopefully). We ordered, so no rating for the ambiance.

As of 2021: Best kebab in Mannheim...a family business for over 30 years...and still tastes like it did on the first day...this is a snack bar with character, the dishes stand out from the competition...I highly recommend everyone to try a kebab there... As of 2025: Unfortunately, it's no longer what it used to be...I can no longer recommend it. The quality has unfortunately declined significantly. The flair of a family business is completely gone, replaced by carelessly made decor and food (although I only tried the kebab today). The name still reminds us of the quality of the past, so it should be changed, otherwise many customers will come with false expectations and end up disappointed by today's product. It's a real shame.

I ordered a Döner pizza today and asked for both onions and peppers. I paid a full €15 for the pizza. They literally charged me €4 extra for the onions and peppers. You can't charge €2 for each vegetable. I'm writing in Turkish on purpose so the Germans don't understand, but €4 for a little onion and pepper is really, really high. Every shopkeeper works for money, but if you're charging €1.20 per kilo for onions at the next market (both shops are owned by the same owner) and then you're charging €2 for 20 grams of onion on your pizza, that's pure greed. I'll never come here again. We don't even pay €15 for quality pizza at an Italian restaurant.

I got a large doner, besides the fact that it tastes bad and the portion is small when you pay for something large.

I eat lunch and dinner here because I like the taste... As someone who has tasted almost everything, I definitely recommend it... The staff is friendly and attentive... It's one of the rare places you can go with your family.

I just had a stomach ache from the disgusting food! And it's anything but tasty. Anyone who eats anything there must hate themselves. This place is an absolute no-go.

I ordered two yufkas, one without onions. The wrapper said no onions, but inside there was a whole lot of onions. The bread was very dry and hard. After reading some reviews, you get the feeling they're putting exactly what you don't want in it. It's a disgrace to then write no onions on it. I'll never order from here again!!!

I can't rate the ambience since it was ordered. The service for complaints is terrible!!!! No recommendation, there are a few kebabs in the area that I will continue to use, and I recommend that to everyone else too.

The chicken kebab is top in terms of taste and quality - consistent for decades. Unfortunately, there are savings on meat and extra cheese. That used to be better! Too bad.

Brutal kebab! I ordered it with chicken. It was very juicy and the sauce was unique. The method of preparation and the spices cannot be compared to any other place. Of the 100% possible, I am satisfied with 120%.

Ordered kebab, fries and pepperoni. Food came after 1 hour, even though I live 2 minutes away, but that's okay as there was a lot going on. It's okay. Fries were now rock hard, kebab ice cold and so dry that you could hardly swallow them - really inedible! Only the pepperoni was still warm because it was in an aluminum tray and also wrapped in aluminum foil. I'm not one to complain to the restaurant/snack bar, but this time I actually had to call and explain the situation. The lady on the phone offered to fix it next time. When I then asked what I should do with the kebab now, the mood changed and they asked what I expected now and whether they should take the kebab back. I asked for it and emphasized again that the kebab was inedible and would end up in the trash. The lady literally brushed me off. She wants to talk to the driver when he gets back and then contact me again. When I asked if she had my cell phone number, she said, "Yes, yes, yes, we'll get in touch." Of course I was NOT called again, nothing more was heard from the store! Doner kebabs and fries ended up in the trash. Paid €17.29 for a bowl of pepperoni and even more hunger... :-) Just bold and sad. I know where I won't eat anymore - what a shame! This is not how service should be.

Normally good kebab doesn't have a large selection of side dishes but is otherwise good in terms of taste and price

When I paid they said 8 euros which is absurd as I saw the prices on the menu and was sure. Nevertheless, I gave you 20 euros and you gave me back 11.50 euros. When I left the store I checked and didn't want to come back and embarrass you.Honesty and integrity are the cornerstones of a successful business

We ordered kebab plates on November 4th, 2023, but they didn't come as requested. Iceberg, tomatoes were completely missing and we had to look for the onions. Bread requested by the customer was ignored 👌There was everything the kitchen had to offer, red cabbage shreds, corn, white cabbage, even though Lieferando stated that we didn't want that. I wrote an email but that too remained unanswered. Customer service is subpar but charge the full amount Too bad

I went to Kaya again today and ordered a Yufka with falafel with a salad of soft cheese and sauce, firstly where is the soft cheese, and cut 2 falafel into small pieces with scissors. For a kebab I would have expected more for a Yufka for €7 each. I've been going to Kaya since 1988 and it's always been good. But as of today I'm going to look for a new kebab shop. I can't recommend it any more.

Finally the Kayas from before are back!! Now you can finally eat the best kebab in Mannheim again! Chicken and veal are simply top notch, nothing with strips or minced kebab, here you get real meat!! Prices are top and portions are decent. Here you can see that there is a lot of experience behind it! I'm glad you're back!

I ate a JUFKA there. There was a choice of chicken or veal. I chose veal because I only ever eat veal kebab. The meat was very dry and didn't really have any flavor, and unfortunately the juka dough itself wasn't anything special. There's not much to say about the service. I ordered Nen JUFKA and it was then prepared. The ambience is not particularly nice, the table where I ate was okay. I was there once because there was a re-opening offer of €5, but I won't be coming back. But since I didn't get any stomach pains or anything like that, I'm giving it 2 stars.

Doner kebab was really good...but I only ate veal...I can't say anything about chicken doner...😊

It's a shame what happened to the store... I really enjoyed eating or ordering there regularly, as it was the best kebab shop I've been to so far, both in terms of quality and portions. Always received a friendly welcome. Sometimes even with a cup of tea. Unfortunately, the quality declined very quickly, but you still got what you paid for. But now the portions have gradually become smaller and smaller, making it almost no longer worth eating there for me. Unfortunately, the quality also fluctuates more and more, which makes everything seem a bit sad and listless overall. I really wish the operators a lot of strength and success. Because I know that they can do better. Addendum: I tried again, but that was definitely the last... The vegetables were probably bad and smelled strongly of acetone. So inedible... This shouldn't be the case at all.

The kebab meat could have been more seasoned and grilled more strongly. The sauce is also too weak for my taste. “With everything” but without pepperoni. So rather close to average.

Absolutely not recommended. The taste was an absolute disappointment and the meat was still half raw. I hope I get through tomorrow without being poisoned

Alles ist köstlich, ich empfehle es.

Geht so das Essen Word komplett aufeinander geschmissen, also das Auge isst Leider nicht mit.. und mal sind die Portionen normal und manchmal wird richtig gespart..... also jedes mal eine Überraschung 🤷‍♂️

Wir waren seit dem Wechsel 2x da. Gestern und heute. Uns hat es super geschmeckt. Die Portionen waren sehr groß und der Geschmack war super. Wir kommen wieder.

Kalb Yufka war gut. Döner Laden sieht schon alt aus, ein bisschen unordentlich auch. Personal ist sehr freundlich. Parkplätze schwer zu finden.

Über lieferando bestellt und leider alles versalzen ( Pizza diavolo, yufka, Pommes mit Nuggets & Dönerbox, wo der Reis verkocht war und nach nichts geschmeckt hat.) ich habe den Imbiss so geliebt, aber er hat leider total nachgelassen.

Schon seit vielen Jahren sehr gutes Essen.

Update Juli 2033: neuer Besitzer, alter Name, Döner nix besonderes Mehr. Meinen Geschmack treffen die Speisen total. Sehr freundliches Personal. Aus meiner Sicht nur zu empfehlen!!! Zu Lieferungen kann ich nichts sagen da ich immer selbst abhole.

Essen war leider kalt, nachdem ich fast 2h auf die Bestellung warten musste, obwohl der Weg laut navi nur 10 min ist. Döner hat dazu fad geschmeckt.

Der alte Besitzer war etwas besser aber es schmeckt auch so gut nur die Auswahl ist geschrumpft. Ansonsten kann man es durch aus noch empfehlen.

Ich und mein Bester Freund hatten 3 Euro zu wenig dabei und er hat einfach gesagt Keim problem

Leider haben sie sehr nachgelassen früher einfach mein Lieblings Döner Laden. Doch heute nicht mehr da die Qualität nicht mehr die selbe ist.

Leider hat sich alles geändert, die Qualität hat stark nachgelassen, ich glaube, es gibt einen neuen Besitzer des Restaurants, vor Jahren war es für mich das beste Restaurant und jetzt ist es meiner Meinung nach das schlechteste

War früher unser Lieblingsdöner. Waren lange nicht da und hat beim letzten Besuch etwas enttäuscht. Die Soße ist gar nicht mehr so lecker und die Tische haben geklebt. Hat der/die Besitzer/in gewechselt? Der Service war aber gewohnt superfreundlich 😄

Essen super lecker, und waren sehr pünktlich (ich habe vorbestellt). Das Fleisch ist saftig und richtig gewürzt, da kann man gut sein Hunger stillen ohne 20-30€ auszugeben. Die Preise sind gerecht.

Kaya steht seit Jahrzehnten für guten Döner in Mannheim Neckarau. Dazu alles was türkische Döner zu bieten haben. Man kann im Laden auch relativ gemütlich sitzen.

Schon immer ging ich gerne zum Kaya. Ein sehr nettes Ambiente. Man setzt sich auch gerne mal für einen ausgezeichneten Dönerteller rein. Ein sehr nettes Personal :)

Der Döner bei Kaya ist wirklich zu empfehlen. Er ist immer frisch, genau wie die Zutaten (Salat, Zwiebel, Soßen..). Wenn ich hier vorbei komme, dann nehme ich gerne für die ganze Familie mit.

Durch einen Freund entdeckt, der dort um die Ecke wohnt. Zuerst dachte ich, wieso soll ich (von mir entfernt) 10 Minuten Fahrzeit für einen Döner in Kauf nehmen, wo es doch Döner-Buden an jeder Ecke gibt?! Ganz einfach: weil der Döner hier einer der besten in Mannheim ist. Das Dönerfleisch stammt (laut Aussage des Betreibers) aus eigener Herstellung und das schmeckt man! Cross und nicht zu fettig, das Brot luftig und der Salat und die Joghurtsosse sind frisch. Kaya ist ein Familienbetrieb und die Familie Kaya ist äußerst gastfreundlich und herzlich. Ich komme wieder :-)
