Don Camillo in Zingst

We were there on New Year's Eve. The food was totally overpriced and ordinary. Pasta with scampi without scampi. The worst tiramisu ever. Dispatched after 45 minutes. NEVER AGAIN! In our experience, all the good reviews are totally incomprehensible.

There were six of us there. Everyone enjoyed the food very well, only the amount of fish on the gurnard plates, in the fish dishes, was a bit limited. Service was very nice and the atmosphere in the old train station was really nice.

A successful evening! We found a place in the early evening without a reservation and were warmly welcomed by the boss. The selection was diverse: daily menu, main menu and recommendations of the day. We chose the Tagliata di Manzo and the Pasta alla Caterina – both were delicious. The highlight was the garlic soup as a starter – wonderfully creamy and intense, absolutely recommended! The only note: only German EC cards are accepted when paying, no credit cards or foreign debit cards - so don't forget cash.

We spontaneously went to eat here. The range is large and there are additional recommendations. Today a lot of things with “pistachios” were special. Delicious! Be sure to try the Crema pistachio liqueur. The service is attentive, helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed it here. We can really recommend the sapore italiano.

We were in the restaurant with 6 people on New Year's Day around 7 p.m. The service was quick and attentive. We had pre-booked seats and were reserved seats for us in a side room, but it had more of the feel of a club room with uncomfortable benches against the wall. The food, pizza, spaghetti and tortellini were, well, slightly below average. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Our New Year's Eve dinner at Sapore was completely disappointing. A New Year's Eve menu for 75 euros or limited a la cart food was offered. We opted for the a la cart meal and were really disappointed. We had salmon with vegetables and potatoes for 35 euros. This was frozen food that was also poorly prepared. Totally dry, completely neutral in taste, protein leaked out. Disappointing. Our children had tagliatelle with scampi sauce and shrimp. Unfortunately there was no trace of shrimp and there were about 5 mini scampis throughout the meal. Basically all pasta dishes had the same sauce with different ingredients like meat or fish. All in all, we were dispatched after an hour. The service was friendly. Overall, we cannot understand the extremely positive reviews and cannot recommend a visit.

We were in the restaurant on New Year's Eve. Due to the special day, there was a New Year's Eve menu or á la carte (with the main courses starting at around 30 euros). The four-course menu with a glass of Prosecco cost 75 euros. The starters (seafood) were tasty. During the following course of tagliatelle with scampi, the latter were hardly to be found. Unfortunately, the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms were very watery. The pike perch was good, the dessert was OK, unfortunately the panna cotta wasn't tasty. Overall the food was okay. Price and performance are not right.

The staff tried hard. The food was just bad. I have no idea if the good reviews here are real. They are not understandable.

Sapore - A New Year's Eve to enjoy My New Year's Eve at Sapore was an experience in a class of its own. The ambience of the restaurant, warm and inviting, created the perfect atmosphere for the festive occasion. The staff was attentive and friendly and made sure we felt completely comfortable. The menu offered a diverse selection of authentic Italian dishes that were impressive both visually and in terms of taste. I would particularly like to highlight the fresh tagliatelle and the delicate seafood dishes, which were prepared with a lot of love. The evening was rounded off with a well-stocked wine list that offered excellent wines from various regions of Italy. Overall, New Year's Eve at Sapore was an unforgettable experience that I can highly recommend. True Italian hospitality is lived here and I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Thank you very much and a happy new year!

Great and delicious food, the boss is a real Italian, spirited with her heart in the right place. We think it's great that care is taken to ensure that guests can eat in peace (we had a different experience the evening before in another restaurant, 5 children were loudly jumping around the tables and the parents were holding on to the wine glass). A “must have” here is the antipasti plate. We'll definitely be back🫶.

The Italian food is quite good. As a starter I can recommend the mozerella, which is served with very tasty bread. The main course consisted of a pizza of feta, tomato, spinach and a carbonara with pistachios. The pizza was quite good, the carbonara was quite weak in taste. I found the background noise to be too loud.

Really very good food, food that really made you happy. The ambience and service were also first class I was there with my mother and got table 8, which was off to the side, because we had a four-legged friend with us

Very friendly and attentive service. Great recommendation from the house (see photo, forgot name) Tasted great! Pizza Siciliana was also very tasty. Be careful when choosing starters. The bruschetta is almost a main course and so delicious, you just have to eat it up🥰 If we ever come back here from the far north, we'll visit Sapore again💚

Service unfriendly, hardly any guests in the restaurant, but the second sentence, we have to be patient until she comes back. The other waiter put the notepad on the table to write down the order. Very strange. Insalata Fantasia: lots of iceberg lettuce with lots of hard parts (I cut it away at home), 5 stalks of rocket, 1 quartered tomato, mozzarella (also quartered), exactly 4 olives, 2 slices of cucumber, 3 thin strips of pepper. No dressing! There was vinegar and oil on the table, but probably the cheapest quality. A salad also needs more spices than salt and pepper (which was also on the table). The bread served with it was hard and dry, I was expecting something fresh from the pizza oven. All this for 16€... The pizza was ok, although a bit bland. There was no response to my answer when I commented that I didn't like the salad. Will never eat there again. Oh yes, card payments only from €30...

We have been going to Zingst for many years and have always walked past this location. Today was our day. We were very pleasantly surprised. Super nice people, top service and service. We haven't eaten such good pizza and dessert for a long time. We will give you 100 points. Highly recommended....The dessert in the picture is amazing 😋

Hello, what I can say about this restaurant is only superlatives, the food is amazing, the service is one of the best I have ever encountered, a place worth recommending to all new customers, I highly recommend it, I will definitely come back, thank you very much!!!

We are very disappointed. We can't relate to the good reviews at all. We ordered a table for 4 people. When we came in it looked very inviting at first glance, but we were quickly disabused of it. We were stuffed into a small, separate room, which was already very crowded and stuffy. We also sat like chickens on a narrow bench attached to the wall. There is another way to be comfortable. And all this, even though there was still enough space in the front area. We were greeted warmly at the door and given a seat. Then the waitress came. If this is what Italian hospitality looks like to her, then I'd rather stay at home. Apparently someone else was responsible for ordering the drinks, this young gentleman was friendly enough to sit on the table and write down our order. When we were allowed to order our food and we asked for 2 additional toppings on the pizza, you could see the waitress's displeasure. I either accept changes or politely decline. We also ordered an appetizer, saying it could all come together as our son was very hungry. It came separately, but that wasn't a bad thing. Personally, I think it's outrageous that fresh ingredients are advertised and then we get a frozen schnitzel that was put through the deep fryer, served with vegetables, some of which were extremely salty, and rosemary potatoes, which tasted without rosemary. The pizzas were already browned black on top and the dough was still very raw on the bottom. The tagliatelle, on the other hand, was good. I found it very intrusive that one of the waiters was of the opinion that my 7 year old son couldn't cut his schnitzel himself and after the third time he responded "Thank you very much, but he can do it himself". Unfortunately, no waiter came by after handing out the food asked if everything was okay. Otherwise we would have sent the food back straight away. We asked for the bill and said unfortunately it wasn't good at all. No reaction from the waitress, just a quick thank you. Honestly, we are certainly not strict and tend to overlook something, especially since we know how stressful catering can be and we also like to give a good tip, but here it was absolutely not appropriate.

Near camping "Düne 6". Food also available to take away. We ate there and it was delicious. Service is very friendly. Attention: Just don't order "Pinot Gris". The waiter explained to us that in Italian restaurants you drink "Pinot Grigio" ;-)

We were in this restaurant for the first time today and we were overwhelmed by the service and the excellent food. We had the feeling we were in Italy, it was simply fantastic. It's a shame that you can only give 5 stars, we would give a full 10 points for this fantastic food and the lovely service. We'll definitely be back.

The restaurant is beautifully designed and a lot of alcohol is used as decoration. For children aged around 8-12 who don't like or eat a lot of spices, it is recommended to order something from the children's menu because the normal dishes contain various spices. A longer waiting time is to be expected. The prices have risen very high. Despite all this, it is a very good restaurant ☺️.

First of all, the food was good. But for us, the entire ambience is part of the evaluation. We had made a reservation the day before...we came to the restaurant and were greeted quite imperiously by the boss herself...here is your seat, but you can only get it until 7 p.m., after which it is given to someone else.... Would you like to have something to drink...that's it? It wasn't very inviting. The lady apparently has a problem with older men... because the female guests were noticeably friendlier, which isn't particularly professional!

Absolutely NOT recommended!! We are in the beautiful health resort of Zingst to relax and were in good spirits to take a break and fortify ourselves at the Italian restaurant. We came with children, and that alone was enough for us to be discriminated against and looked at in a derogatory manner. Rarely visited such an unfriendly restaurant. We should stop in the "hallway" to place our order because "unfortunately" they no longer have room for us. I don't even know that from my hometown of Berlin. In the end we turned around and didn't order anything. Never again!!

Excellent service! My salmon turned out extremely well! Absolutely recommended. The furnishings could be a little more comfortable, maybe they will be redesigned 🙃

A friend, myself and two small dogs asked for a table. We were told that we had to put the dogs outside, that wasn't a problem for us. When we sat down opposite each other and put the dogs against the wall under the table, Keller came and told us in a harsh tone that we had to put the dogs next to each other. We did that, even though we didn't understand the point, since our dogs wouldn't have bothered any other guests at all. It then became quite unfriendly, from a female waitress, who took the food and drinks and treated us like intruders. The pizzas were small and some undercooked, but the price was quite high and we were still hungry. After 35 minutes we said goodbye again. Unfortunately, this restaurant is far from a good and hospitable Italian restaurant. We have never experienced anything like this!

After our arrival we had dinner with our 1 year old daughter. Not recommended, you should think Italians are child friendly. We only complained about my daughter 👎 The pizza wasn't cooked through, the food tasted like nothing! Never again!

I bought 3 pizzas for almost €44, half of the toppings I ordered were missing. The taste was mediocre and the pizza was very small.

The worst Italian in Germany and we found it. Sometimes you should rely on negative reviews on Google. Pizza blanks are purchased and then topped. Pasta was drowned in a cheese sauce from the 20l bucket. Avoid this “Italian” at all costs.

We have been coming to this restaurant during our vacations for years. We are thrilled every time. The service is very friendly. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Better reserve in advance!

The service is ok and the staff tries hard. The pizzas are very, very small and unfortunately didn't impress us at all in terms of taste. They tasted bland and unseasoned and the bottom was partially burnt. The price is therefore not appropriate. We didn't get enough.

Super delicious food in a quiet garden. Nicely decorated restaurant. Bruchetta are so full, including a bed of arugula...so delicious. The Siziliano and Calabrese pizzas were also a poem. Very nice service. We'd love to come back.

Very long waiting times, the waiters don't know the table numbers. Due to the additional take-out sale of pizza, you wait at the door for a waiter to take you to your place. But that takes time because those picking up have priority. Food was great👍

We picked up pizza to take away unfortunately the only positive thing besides the ambience of the restaurant is the speed. We found both the gentleman who took the food order and the waitress who took the drink order for the waiting time to be unfriendly. The carpaccio was a joke in quality and quantity for the price. Unfortunately, the pizzas were very tasteless and had very poor toppings. Unfortunately, we won't be picking up anything or eating out here anymore.

I can really recommend everyone to go here. The food was to die for. The staff is also great. We had a young, very nice waiter. When he gave us the memory card, he immediately pointed out the extra piece of paper with the current daily specials. Since I love shrimp and pistachios, I ordered the tagliatelle with shrimp in cream sauce and pistachios and can only recommend everyone to try this dish. Again, big compliments to the chef, the food was delicious👍👍👍

You can get really good pizza here at a reasonable price. We had Pizza Parma and Pizza Frutti di Mare. Both dishes were very tasty and are highly recommended.😋 The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. Even without a reservation, you can spontaneously get a seat here around 4:30 p.m. / 5:00 p.m. 🤗

Positive: The first thing we were made aware of as tourists was that you had to pay in cash. Only the German EC debit card is accepted as a card. The service ranged from very friendly to stressful. The clerk behind the counter at the register seemed grumpy and never smiled. Tip: a smile would make a big difference. The Prosciutto e Funghi pizza was good.

We have been coming to Zingst for many years, but this year we ate here for the first time. Because we were so impressed by the restaurant, we went there three times within two weeks. I think the atmosphere is nice, the service is really extremely courteous and totally personable and the food tasted really tasty. We would definitely like to come back on our next vacation :) Regardless of whether it was pizza or pasta, it was simply delicious.

Nice atmosphere, courteous service. The food is average at best, but completely overpriced. Soft bruschetta for €8.40 and a glass of wine for €8.90 is downright sick, because we're not talking about a posh Italian restaurant, but rather a Karo simply pizzeria. Balance sheet is not recommended unless you have too much money.

I actually got the place recommended by our guesthouse. There were two of us and we wanted to sit in the evening sun. There were only two tables occupied outside and it was neither a holiday nor a weekend. The waiter didn't like the fact that we were sitting at a table for four and asked us to take a table for two. But these were in the shade and we didn't want that. Then we left and that was a good thing. We were able to enjoy the evening sun at the Italian restaurant at the harbor. The waiter was super nice. The portions are reasonable. There they seem to understand the word customer service and hospitality differently. Update: Instead of apologizing for the waiter's behavior, the owner of the restaurant replied that my review was fake. No, she isn't. The answer, of course, is how you see the guest there.
