The food was great! I enjoyed the atmosphere

I saw the team right in front of me paying by credit card, but they turned off the credit card machine because they were alone and lied and said that EC card payment is not possible at the moment. It would have been okay if they had asked me to understand that only a certain amount of card payments would be accepted. The food wasn't bad, but the service was disappointing. As for the side dish, I don't know if they only gave me one side dish, kkakdugi (radish radish kimchi), because I'm Korean, or if this was the only side dish that was originally served. I didn't order the lunch menu, I ordered the regular menu, but it's a bit weird to only get radish radish as a side dish.

Delicious food and nice ambience

I was in the restaurant a couple of times. The food is okay, although sometimes a little greasy, but the sushi was always nice. The only complaint is that there could be more (interesting) sauces served with sushi

The food was delicious and the owners and employees are all very nice, polite and accommodating. The Korean dishes in particular were an absolute highlight. Both the inside and the outside of the building are very old and could use some fresh air, but that doesn't change the excellent food and the really fair prices. Absolute recommendation! kamsahamnida!

Authentic Korean dishes. Unfortunately, since we didn't have a reservation, we only got 60 minutes for dinner here on a Friday. It no longer feels relaxing. That's why it's better to call and reserve in advance. The service was attentive but not intrusive. However, what left a strange aftertaste was the fact that we didn't receive an invoice or receipt (we were told verbally about the amount to be paid) and you could only pay in cash.

Very good food and a calm and friendly atmosphere! I think the bathroom needs a little TLC, we should think about fixing it up a little, a little renovation would be a good idea.....

The food is delicious. Me and my friend really like to visit this restaurant at lunch time as they have very fair lunch deals. We love the bulgogi there!!! It's awesome. The boss is very nice and the restaurant is beautifully decorated in traditional Korean style. 5 Stars!

Great food! We were all very enthusiastic about the Korean dishes. It was very tasty and fresh. There are hardly any vegetarian main courses on the menu, but we were able to cancel the meat without any problem :) the service was very, very nice. Price-performance was also great! We'd love to come back :)

Our experience here was alright. Although nothing to brag about. The food was a mixture of very satisfying and 'meh'. Their tempura was quite oily, but main dish portions were large. The main dishes we had were filling, delicious, and quite authentic. Although it wasn't spicy even whilst we ordered the spicy dishes. Drinks were priced on the higher end of the scale. Sadly, the ginseng with honey tea was really only honey water, maybe the ginseng was forgotten, but we still paid the price of ginseng tea. The price range of Domo varied quite widely. The food did take awhile to be served, but perhaps the cooking process takes awhile. Service was excellent, the owner and her family were very friendly and attentive. They were polite and pretty quick with their service abilities. Domo is quite a small restaurant, with a very limited number of seats. They have an atmosphere of an older themed restaurant mixed with some South Korean touch. Tables are quite close to each other, so don't expect to have much personal space at the tables. They did get pretty busy towards the night, so a reservation would be highly recommended. But if you went just as they opened, you'd probably get a seat.

Richtig tolles Restaurant mit wirklich authentisch koreanischen Speisen. Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal hier und können es nur empfehlen. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr einladend und auch im koreanischen Stil. Das Essen war gut und man kann sogar viele vegetarische Varianten wählen. Super. Man sollte allerdings gerade am Wochenende (Fr, Sa) reservieren, da es schon voll wird.

Ich verstehe die positiven Rezensionen nicht, vielleicht habe ich das Falsche bestellt. Mir wurde jedenfalls als "Jeyukbokkum" in Austersauce ertränktes Schwein mit Gemüsepaprika serviert. Koreanisch war das nicht.

This is my favourite restaurant in Mainz. So far I have tried the pork belly korean bbq, kimchi jeon and the sundubu. The quality of the ingredients makes this place stand out: fresh perilla leaves, homemade kimchi, soft tofu, I could go on. Its a fun experience eating the sides and the rice come in little metal containers! I am looking forward to trying other soups and stews.

Das Ambiente ist etwas altbacken, doch das wiegt der freundlich-flotte Service und die gute Küche auf. Hier lässt sich tadellos und genussvoll koreanisch und japanisch speisen. Ein Wiederkommen ist keine Frage!

Ein super Restaurant. Man wurde sofort fröhlich begrüßt und wir konnten ohne Probleme bestellen. Das Personal war sehr lieb. Nach nicht all zu langer Wartezeit kam unser Essen. Wir hatten ein schönes, kuscheliges Ambiente und alle waren zufrieden mit ihrem Essen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war auch gut. Es ist auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen!

Authentisch und schmackhaft ohne Geschmacksverstärker. Man fühlt sich ehrlich wie bei der Muttersküche. Abends wird das Restaurant sehr schnell voll, also lieber reservieren oder früh genug dasein.

The food is soo filling in terms of taste. We ordered Maultaschen Suppe and Gemüse Ramyun and both the dishes taste absolutely perfect. If you're looking for a quick, light yet fulfilling food this is the right place for you.

Sehr kleines Lokal also ich würde auf jeden Fall Tisch reservieren da es nach 18 Uhr viel los ist. Essen ist sehr lecker und authentisch.

Super freundliches Personal, hochqualitatives Essen und sehr große Portionen. Die Toilette war sauber. Toll sind auch die Wahlmöglichkeit zwischen Koreanisch und Japanisch und die sehr abwechslungsreiche, große Karte. Hier bleiben keine Wünsche offen! Bester Koreaner, bei dem ich bisher war! Extrem nettes und hilfsbereites Personal, extrem leckeres und authentisches japanisches und koreanisches Essen und eine große abwechslungsreiche Karte.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und kam sehr schnell! Die Kellnerinnen sind sehr freundlich, das Lokal ist klein, aber sehr nett. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder hier essen, es ist ein verstecktes Juwel in Mainz, das einen Besuch wert ist.

Hmmm very average~ I certainly had a lot better Korean foods before, so i could say this one has nothing special. Beside the unique interior, fully korean decorated in such an old German building, hehe very interesting! The place is quite small, but they have a lot of tables, make it seems even smaller, and the space between tables were very small. The waitress was nice and friendly, though i think she was confused whether she needs to speak English or German bc me and my friends were speaking both😂 I had vegetarian Kimbap (8/10) it was good, will be better if they had bulgogi Kimbap as well. Then i had Bibim Naengmyeon, it was a spicy cold noodles (8,5/10) super nice, i like it, big portion and taste just like the way it should be. My friend had a vegetarian Udon (6,5/10) tbh, super plain, has no taste at all. I didn‘t like it. Another friend had Kimchi Jjigae (7/10) was too sour, i know it‘s from the kimchi, but apart from sour they have no other flavor in it. Another friend had Naengmyeon (8/10) but i prefer the spicy one. The Banchan (6/10) disappointed me a lot. Banchan in Korean cuisine suppose to be very good, so you would even eat them with only rice, but it wasn‘t the case. I didn‘t like their both kimchi, i told them it tasted like a very old kimchi which you couldn‘t even eat them anymore, but they said it was new made, i‘m not so sure though. I personally don‘t like lotus, so i didn‘t even try theirs. Price was average, it‘s okay. You can pay with EC Card or cash.

Tolles Restaurant! Das Essen ist sehr lecker, scharf und würzig! Die Portionen sind sehr gut! Ich bin gerne hier vor allem, weil die Restaurantbesitzer*Innen und die Bedingungen sehr freundlich sind. In Mainz und Umgebung einfach das beste Koreanische Restaurant! Ich komme sehr, sehr gerne wieder!

Had a great experience at this cozy Korean restaurant. A good indicator of how good a non-german restaurant is, is the number of patrons from the country the cuisine is of - and right away we knew that the food was going to be good! And boy, was the food good! Flavourful, spicy and well presented - we had the Jeyukbokkum and Dolsotbibimbab, both were fantastic (especially the Jeyukbokkum). The restaurant also offers drinks such as sake and soju, all for very reasonable prices. The service was great as well. A fantastic addition to the culinary scene of Mainz!

Außerordentlich gutes koreanisches Essen zu fairen Preisen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zurückhaltend, und dennoch sofort zur Stelle für Beratung und offen für Smalltalk. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

This place is a Korean and Japanese place but do only eat their Korean food as the owners are Korean themselves. Their Korean food tastes really good and the Kimchi was very nice. If you want a break from European food, this is the place to go!

Bylismy w Domo na Naszej malej rocznicy. Zamiwilismy zestaw dla dwojga, cena troche wyzsza niz w internecie ale coz. Zestaw okazal sie pyszny i sycacy. Na deser zamowilismy przepyszne kulki sezamowe. Kazdy stolik ma dzwonek by zawolac kelnera co jest bardzo praktyczne.

Me and my friend were super excited to eat some fried noodles with vegetables and fried duck, but what we got was the most blend tasting veggies, literal spaghetti NOT EGG BASED NOODLES, SPAGHETTI and fried fat of the duck, also they weren't fried at all. We also ordered some sushi which was just bad. You could tell none of the ingredients were fresh, we were served multiple butt parts of the sushiroll and an Okay tasting miso soup. On top of all of that we had to pay almost 50€ for two orders neither of us could finish. We definitely won't visit this restaurant again.

Der Service war am ersten Eröffnungstag nach dem Urlaub noch etwas unkoordiniert. So mussten wir die zweite Portion unserer Speise selber am Tisch braten. Lediglich der Gaskocher wurde uns kurz eingeschaltet. Die Auswahl an schmackhaftem koreanischen Essen ist groß. Die Preise sind angemessen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Tipp: Unbedingt mal das koreanische Lager-Bier namens "Hite" probieren. Das schmeckt sehr gut. Außerdem kann man ums Eck bei der "Zeitungsente" u.a. auch das Essen vom Domo + zusätzlich weiterer Restaurants der Gegend bekommen (Fisch, Döner, Italienisch und Indisch), da die Zeitungsente keine eigene Küche besitzt und man so von den Nachbarlokalen aus deren offizieller Karte das Essen ordern darf. Eine tolle Zusammenarbeit!

Sehr gutes Essen auch wenn es laut den Freunden aus Korea nicht komplett authentisch ist. Trotzdem sehr gut und sehr zu empfehlen.

Samstag Abend mussten wir lange auf das Essen warten. Schweinefleisch für 2 am Tisch gegrillt mit zahlreichen koreanischen Beilagen war köstlich, einfach wie in Südkorea. Warum Leute in ein koreanisches Restaurant gehen und dort Sushi o.a. bestellen, bleibt rätselhaft.

In Mainz und Wiesbaden gibt es relativ viele asiatische Restaurants und Imbisse und viele davon habe ich bereits ausprobiert.. aber das Domo ist mein absoluter Liebling! Ein hübsch eingerichteter Familienbetrieb direkt hinter dem Neubrunnenplatz. Sehr zentral, aber in einer kleineren Seitenstraße, sodass man vom Getümmel in der Stadt gar nichts mitbekommt. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich, äußerst herzlich und immer für einen Spaß zu haben. Egal ob Neu Kunde oder Stammgast, das Paar ist stets darauf erpirscht jedem den best möglichen Service zu bieten. Und die Karte ebenso. Es gibt keine Buffets oder großartige Wechsel in der Karte, aber das braucht man dort gar nicht. Japanische und Koreanische Speisen sind äußerst vielfältig, sodass man schon eine Ewigkeit braucht, bis man die Karte durch hat. Außerdem kann man gut behaupten, dass das Essen durchaus authentisch ist (so sagt mir zumindest eine japanische Freundin). Die Preise sind durchaus in Ordnung. An Getränken werden übrigens unter anderem auch Sake, koreanisches Bier und andere asiatische Getränke angeboten. Ich liebe es dort und komme immer gerne! :) Das Essen schmeckt super. Egal ob Sushi, Nudeln oder koreanische Spezialitäten wie Bibimbap ,alles schmeckt! Eine eindeutige Empfehlung!

Don't let the restaurant exterior or interior fool you. Great food with a great range of menu choices. The service was brilliant and real value for money prices. No complaints whatsoever and will be back again for sure!

Since most of the bad reviews are outdated i'd like to write a review, with is fitting to the quality of this restaurant now. MY ORDER My meal was a Miso Soup and Salad, 5 Chicken thingies, and then Chicken in Cocos. For drinks i had a pino coco. PRICE First off, with the prices for the main dishes ranging an average of 8 to 11 Euros (inclusive Miso Soup and small Salad) the Restaurant is defenetly not too expensive. The total bill for 5 people was 64 Euros. QUALITY AND QUANTITY The Miso Soup tasted like it should, not too hot, not too cold. For being inclusive in the 9 Dollar Dish, the slightly smaller bowl was fair. The small salad was also tasty. Then the chickens, for a 4 Dollar price tag for 6 wonderfully tasting, sweet chicken legs (or Wings) the quantity was defenetly ok. The main dish came with rice and tasted amazing, really no negative remarks i can make anywhere. The only thing that may not be nice for other people was the slightly a bit too sweet Pino coco. But if you get an analcoholic cocktail, GET IT! SERVICE The servers were very kind, and the cook made a nice impression (different than some other places i have been at in Mainz). They were all from Asian origin as a sidenote. SO TO SUM IT UP, BEST ASIAN RESTAURANT IN MAINZ. Plus: Dont go to meat & eat ;)

I went for the first time to this restaurant. It's quite difficult to find Korean restaurant in mainz.. from outside the restaurant looks small but it's nice inside.. the service is good very friendly and the food is quite delicious
