The restaurant was very busy, so despite having a reservation we had to wait until a table became available. But then everything went quickly. We were served in a friendly and professional manner. The food was excellent all round and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The only thing that failed miserably was coffee with milk. But that didn't detract from the successful dining experience. Thanks to the entire team for this culinary highlight!!

Hello, once again in the magic lamp for dinner. Hummus is very good and absolutely recommended. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. The waiter came across as a bit rushed. Conclusion: We would love to come back. It's best to reserve a table online.

We had a mix of delicious starters: baba ganoush, hummus, pepper tapenade, stuffed pastries with chicken, cheese and beef and a salad served with bread. All were very tasty and a real treat. Our main dish were very nice and spicy lambskewers with vegetables, bread, some rice and fries (odd for a Middle Eastern kitchen). It is also a bit strange that the dishes' names are so strange (baba ganous and hummus are not called that way).

We ate very well and were given exemplary advice about any intolerances. Very friendly and committed team!

Ordered a grill plate for €37 and didn't get anything in return, definitely not again. Portion was suitable for children but not for an adult. And at this awesome price. Therefore, unfortunately not recommended... you'll lose your money there but you won't get full. We were extremely disappointed...

We had the 2 course menu where you can try (almost) all of the dishes. Everything was explained to us well, the service was excellent and quick, despite the restaurant being full. As it says in the menu: as if you were eating at home with an oriental family. Very tasty and absolutely recommended

I found it rather very mediocre. The starter consisted of various dips (including hummus) with bread, which was very tasty. For mains we had chicken skewers, lamb and (I assume) veal. The whole thing tasted okay, but was relatively bland. The chicken was very dry. There were no sauces/dips included or not offered when ordering. The food was also relatively heavy on our stomachs. The non-alcoholic drink selection was very good. The ambience is ancient and relatively dark (old pub), but the lighting makes it cozy. The service was attentive and on point. I can't really understand the hype surrounding the store. At some point we might come back again and try another main course...

Wir hatten mit einer Gruppe von 7 Leuten dort zum Abendessen reserviert. Das Essen war sehr lecker, das Servicepersonal war sehr aufmerksam. Man fühlt sich ein bischen in den Orient versetzt. Im Lokal wird kein Alkohol serviert, dafür gibt es sehr leckere alkoholfreie Cocktails. Wenn wir nochmal in Trier sind, kommen wir gerne wieder.

The restaurant couldn't convince us. There was nothing oriental about the vegetarian pot (I was expecting okra or something like that, for example). We had the 2-course menu twice. One piece of meat smelled musty. The many oriental spices drowned out the “old” taste. I spent the whole night with diarrhea and nausea. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone...absolutely overpriced for the quality.

The food was good. The meat was a little too dry. I missed a dip or something similar with it. The service was top. The ambience leaves something to be desired. More beer garden than Arabian Nights. There's something else going on.

The three of us got a table on a Sunday evening, quite spontaneously and without a reservation. However, it was also the last one available. Guests who arrived after us either had to wait or leave. In any case, we received a very nice welcome. The service was very friendly and helpful throughout the evening. We shared the mixed appetizer platter. Flatbread, small, sliced ​​olives, 3 different dumplings and three different creams. Our favorite was the paprika-topmaten cream, but everything else tasted very good too. For the main course I had the spice miracle, chicken with vegetables and rice cooked in a clay pot and gratinated with cheese. It's also available without cheese and that would be a better choice for me. Except for the bland cheese, it was very pleasantly seasoned and perfectly prepared. The rice was al dente but not hard and the chicken was very tender. All in all, a very nice meal in a nice and friendly atmosphere. The only things I don't like are, on the one hand, due to our ignorance and a faux pas. Immediately after ordering, the flatbread was put on the table. Not knowing that this was part of the starter and because we were hungry, we immediately helped ourselves to it. This meant that there wasn't enough left over for the starter afterwards and, above all, that I felt full too early. Although it was due to our greed, it would have easily been avoided if the flatbread only came to the table together with the accompanying starter. Another faux pas that I don't find pleasant is the way we got our cutlery. Cutlery holders are completely fine. For hygiene reasons, the handles should always be upwards. In our case it wasn't like that. We had to hold the cutlery by the knife edge or the fork by the tines. Conclusion, a few simple little things that I didn't like, but still a very good recommendation for a nice evening in a friendly atmosphere and with very tasty food.

In terms of taste, the dishes are okay, but it's not worth coming here anymore, the food just tastes very bland. Everything was much better two years ago.

One point of criticism on our part is the ambience: We sat outside on chairs that, in our opinion, did not fit the table in terms of seat height and the square brown individual beer garden tables have nothing to do with an Arab world. The furniture inside and outside resembles a long-established, middle-class German restaurant. Things are described on the Magic Lamp website that don't match what you find at all. The terrace floor is uneven and sloping, so the tables are also at an angle. Wir waren jetzt ein paar mal in der Wunderlampe und es ist oft gut, manchmal auch durchschnittlich. Die Vorspeisenplatte zum mitnehmen ist leider zu teuer, dafür, dass es dann nur Soßen, ein paar Fladenbrote, Olivensalat und ein paar frittierte Teigteile sind. Was man sehr empfehlen kann sind die großen Grillplatten für Gruppen / Familienfeste. Da können alle zusammen richtig reinhauen und alle werden beeindruckt von Flambiertem Fleisch und guten Gewürzen. Das Ambiente erinnert halt leider noch sehr an das gutbürgerliche Restaurant, dass es einmal war. Darüber orientalische Deko die eher billig / rührend ist. Man gibt sich schon Mühe hier, doch der Zauber, den das Lokal einmal hatte ist etwas verflogen.

We had booked a table there on Saturday for 8:30 p.m. We were also warmly welcomed and shown to our table. After that we didn't see a waiter for 35 minutes, got up and left. So unfortunately I can't say anything about the food itself. The ambience is very nice. :)

The food was delicious, no question about it. However, there are other restaurants in Trier with the same, if not better, quality and an even better taste experience. The apple juice spritzer was by far the cheapest tasting I've ever had in the entire region. It certainly wasn't organic apple juice, but the price was just as high. A pity. I will definitely try it again. Not every day is the same. The young service staff were all very nice and helpful.

Der er meget tysk pomfrittesmad til turister i Trier - det var vi trætte af og ville prøve noget andet. På Die Wunderlampe fik vi den dejligste arabiske frokost med lette forfriskende retter! Vi delte falafler på fin humus, stegte fladbrød, grillet auberginecreme og dertil en lækker drk - Karavane; med mynteblade, ingefær, lime og isterninger. Virkelig en dejlig oplevelse i 30 graders varme!

Everything in small bowls and off the “breakfast plate” THEN OUR PLATE CAME. VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR 37 EURO PER PERSON THERE WAS 2 minced skewers each and 1 piece of chicken with 5 pieces of meat, 1 handful of fries and a handful of "the potatoes that are often recommended here" -> looked like nothing and were soggy. Rather out of the packaging and in the middle a tontoof with vegetables. The taste was delicious but way overcooked. For dessert there were 4 different pieces that you had to share. DEFINITELY WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for 90 EURO. UNFORTUNATELY THE PRICE-PERFORMANCE RATIO WAS NOT RIGHT HERE. A PITY
