We (4 people) didn't like it when we ate there and would therefore not recommend this restaurant. I would like to go into more detail, but I was accused of libel with the first honest review and had it removed by Google. In my opinion, the stars have been distributed with this new rating and every reader who is interested should form their own opinion. The magic lamp has a spacious outdoor area. The service was absolutely great and the food was terrific. We weren't here for the last time. We had a starter and then a meat dish. A lot of the lack. The non-alcoholic cocktails were very good and refreshing.

Wir waren jetzt ein paar mal in der Wunderlampe und es ist oft gut, manchmal auch durchschnittlich. Die Vorspeisenplatte zum mitnehmen ist leider zu teuer, dafür, dass es dann nur Soßen, ein paar Fladenbrote, Olivensalat und ein paar frittierte Teigteile sind. Was man sehr empfehlen kann sind die großen Grillplatten für Gruppen / Familienfeste. Da können alle zusammen richtig reinhauen und alle werden beeindruckt von Flambiertem Fleisch und guten Gewürzen. Das Ambiente erinnert halt leider noch sehr an das gutbürgerliche Restaurant, dass es einmal war. Darüber orientalische Deko die eher billig / rührend ist. Man gibt sich schon Mühe hier, doch der Zauber, den das Lokal einmal hatte ist etwas verflogen.

Always happy. Delicious Arabic food. We like to try lots of different little things. It is a consistent concept that there are only non-alcoholic drinks.

We had pre-booked a table for 5 people. The food was delicious and the service was good. But our table was in a corner that was barely lit, so it was difficult to read the menu and the dishes were very difficult to see. We thought that was a shame and don't know whether we will visit the magic lamp again.

Were there for the first time today. Had a seat outside. We were served quickly and the food was also very tasty and filling. Unfortunately, the feeling of the Arabian Nights is somewhat missing outside.

Nice atmosphere in the courtyard and good dishes with a rich taste. Big portions. However, the service was rather slow even though there were only a few guests and no rush. Good (non-alcoholic) mocktails.

The food was delicious, no question about it. However, there are other restaurants in Trier with the same, if not better, quality and an even better taste experience. The apple juice spritzer was by far the cheapest tasting I've ever had in the entire region. It certainly wasn't organic apple juice, but the price was just as high. A pity. I will definitely try it again. Not every day is the same. The young service staff were all very nice and helpful.

We reserved a table at 8:30 p.m. and were invited to the table quickly and friendly. That's it. No menu, no drinks request... nothing! Very unfortunate. After half an hour of nothing, we decided to leave. We were really looking forward to oriental food. I hope the review helps you look beyond the structure and pay more attention to the guests.

We had booked a table there on Saturday for 8:30 p.m. We were also warmly welcomed and shown to our table. After that we didn't see a waiter for 35 minutes, got up and left. So unfortunately I can't say anything about the food itself. The ambience is very nice. :)

Der er meget tysk pomfrittesmad til turister i Trier - det var vi trætte af og ville prøve noget andet. På Die Wunderlampe fik vi den dejligste arabiske frokost med lette forfriskende retter! Vi delte falafler på fin humus, stegte fladbrød, grillet auberginecreme og dertil en lækker drk - Karavane; med mynteblade, ingefær, lime og isterninger. Virkelig en dejlig oplevelse i 30 graders varme!

The food was generally very good. But the grilled chicken breast pieces were really dry. An additional sauce was missing. The staff was really very friendly. The prices are reasonable

Reserved online. The table was set up outside even though it was written in the reservation that it was a wedding anniversary meal. We then sat down inside. Unfortunately there was no romance, I didn't like the place at the door, the constant running in and out and the music that was way too loud. More of a pub feeling. The COCKTAIL was delicious. The service was friendly, only asking the fourth time if everything was ok -> a bit annoying. We had the PLATE FOR 37EURO PER PERSON. It was described as completely different than what came to our table. Bread was a mediocre wrap and from the package there were 4 different dips with a side salad which was so well. Everything in small bowls and off the “breakfast plate” THEN OUR PLATE CAME. VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR 37 EURO PER PERSON THERE WAS 2 minced skewers each and 1 piece of chicken with 5 pieces of meat, 1 handful of fries and a handful of "the potatoes that are often recommended here" -> looked like nothing and were soggy. Rather out of the packaging and in the middle a tontoof with vegetables. The taste was delicious but way overcooked. For dessert there were 4 different pieces that you had to share. DEFINITELY WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for 90 EURO. UNFORTUNATELY THE PRICE-PERFORMANCE RATIO WAS NOT RIGHT HERE. A PITY

The food was super tasty. Personally, I found the dips a bit too oily, but I think that's also a matter of taste. Instead of a main course, I ordered the various starters and can recommend the half moon dumplings. We also shared dessert. The mixed platter is perfect for three people to try a bit of everything.

We were there yesterday with 8 people. It's nice to sit in the beer garden, but it doesn't have any 1001 Nights atmosphere. We waited a very long time for drinks and food. One person didn't get their main course until everyone else had already finished. Very unfortunate. The lemonade was super sour and only drinkable after the ice melted. The gold pearl plate was ok, the falafel was rather hard and the magic lamp potatoes were unfortunately partly still raw. The vegetables on the other plates were minimal. In my opinion the price-performance ratio is not right.

For my birthday, my family surprised me with a visit to the magic lamp, as I have often mentioned that we have to go there. When we arrived on the terrace very uncaring waiter on the cell phone. Birthday table set with 3 small plates with paper serving knife, fork carelessly. Well, I thought it would go wrong. And so it was. The staff is young and inexperienced and the explanation of the food is not helpful. Had 2 starters 2 small minced pizzas and a date almond with syrup dip which were ok but with cold bread. My husband ordered 2 chicken skewers with fries and he said it was ok, it just needed to be warmer. Our daughter had 2 chicken fillets with rice, it was juicy but not more, rice was very dry and cold. She didn't eat an empty plate. I had the chicken in the clay pot and was really looking forward to it but unfortunately a big disappointment it wasn't freshly prepared lukewarm I think it was only warmed in the clay pot the chicken 5 small pieces with frozen vegetables, potatoes tasted old the rice was dry and the portion was ridiculous and barely seasoned Tasted very bland, everything was a taste that had nothing to do with the Orient. The portions are small and the prices are way too high. I thought it was a real shame. We will no longer visit the magic lamp and will not recommend it to friends and acquaintances. I come from the catering industry myself and we have never eaten or experienced such bad service in a restaurant.

Excellent Syrian food with delicious homemade bread and lamb skewers. Unfortunately, I had a takeaway and missed having dinner there. However, even their takeaway packaging was excellent and food was still warm when I reached the hotel.

We were in the Wunderlampe Essen with a group of 30 people. It was a lovely evening all round! The drinks (cocktails etc.) were something special, the food was simply outstanding. Everyone received a starter and later the main course at the same time, even in this group size. Everyone was very happy with their choice of restaurant. After a call, a large table was prepared in the garden for our group of 12 people! Really great service in a hurry! The food was very authentic, fresh and delicious. However, in my opinion the relationship between the amount of food and the price is not justified. 5 falafel with rice and a thin slice of bread for 17€ is already very steep, so unfortunately a ⭐️ deduction.

The food is hardly seasoned. The prices are way too high. Drinks were not available but were on the bill. Side salad was also not served upon request.

Went to visit friends in the Hunsrück at the weekend and explored Trier together. In the evening we stopped at the restaurant "Die Wunderlampe". We had reserved a table for 6 p.m., but were already at the restaurant at 5 p.m., but that wasn't a problem The waitress brought us to the table on the terrace. The four of us then ordered the Oriental Dinner (4-course menu). First came various cold and warm starters, everything was very tasty and varied. The hummus was amazing. So that we didn't eat enough of the starters, the main course came. There were mixed meat skewers with vegetarian side dishes, rice and fries. - Mega tasty, a dream, the meat was perfectly grilled and extremely seasoned. Afterwards there were various sweet little things to share for dessert, everything tasted delicious. (Small criticism about the dessert - we thought it was a shame that we didn't each get the four different desserts and had to share them each.) For drinks we had non-alcoholic cocktails, our friends had the love potion, my wife Morgenrot and I had the caravan. The cocktails were a visual and taste highlight. We had a very nice evening in the magic lamp and will definitely come back on our next visit to the Hunsrück. Greetings from Hannover

Was very, very tasty. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back. A little tip: the food is very well seasoned, but can cause a feeling of dryness in the mouth. It's best to order 1-2 dips with it.

Wir hatten das Vergnügen, einen unvergesslichen Abend im Restaurant "Die Wunderlampe" mit unserer Familie zu verbringen. Das Ambiente war einladend und gemütlich, perfekt für ein gemeinsames Essen. Das Personal war äußerst zuvorkommend und aufmerksam, was unseren Besuch noch angenehmer machte. Die Speisekarte bot eine vielfältige Auswahl an köstlichen Gerichten, die alle exquisit zubereitet und präsentiert wurden. Von Vorspeisen bis hin zu Desserts war jeder Bissen ein Geschmackserlebnis. Besonders beeindruckt waren wir von der Qualität der Zutaten und der Kreativität in der Zusammenstellung der Gerichte. Auch die Getränkeauswahl war umfangreich und von hoher Qualität. Insgesamt war unser Besuch im Restaurant "Die Wunderlampe" ein kulinarisches Highlight, das wir gerne wiederholen würden. Wir können es nur wärmstens empfehlen und sind dankbar für diese fantastische Erfahrung.

We ordered the appetizer platter, which was supposed to have “7 different appetizers.” Despite a lot of choice on the menu, there were 3x dumplings and 3x dip. I would actually have liked 7 different starters here. For the main course I had chicken in the Tontop, which I personally didn't like at all. I kindly informed you of this and had the entire dish returned. Here, as a service to the guest, I would have liked to have been offered an alternative or perhaps served a small free dessert. However, it was only acknowledged silently.

Very tasty food! The mixed starters (especially dips) are super tasty and varied. We had the 2-course menu and were initially served with the aforementioned dips and flatbread. The restaurant was very flexible, so we were able to order the mixed menu with vegetarian dishes and meat dishes. Also delicious non-alcoholic cocktails.

We visited the magic lamp yesterday and were totally amazed. 🪬️ Oriental 🧿 it could be. It was for the main course FIRE WORSHIPERS and EVENING BREEZE (lamb with rice) Plus lots of small delicacies and absolutely delicious dips and flatbreads from the starter platter. The drink is a lime made from strawberry, raspberry, mint and lime. It was so delicious that my mouth is watering again 😍 The staff was really great and the four-legged guest also got his water 🥰

Yesterday we were in the magic lamp for the first time and I can only say we will come back and recommend it to friends and family. The staff was very accommodating, the food was excellent and very tasty. The price was also reasonable. The portions were just right. All in all, a very successful evening.

We had the 4-course menu for a birthday and were very satisfied. We were all more than full. The homemade lemonades are also amazing. Gladly again.

The food was very tasty, the starters were sensational and varied, with something for every taste. The cocktails were delicious, alcohol-free and beautifully presented. Our group of 16 people was extremely satisfied. Vegetarians and vegans also felt well looked after. The furnishings could be a little more authentic, but it doesn't lead to a downgrade in our overall rating.

We ate here with friends today and were very satisfied. The 7 mixed starters (3 x 2 "half moons" each (cheese, beef and chicken casserole), "Sandstorm", "Sandstorm spicy", "Abendsonne" and "Magic lamp dip" with flatbread) were all very tasty and also for 4 People are good enough. As main courses we had the "Gewürzwunder" - excellently seasoned and super juicy, "Räucherwerk" and "Morgenland" - both very juicy and tasty, the falafel from the "Goldperlenteller" were excellent - as was the hummus. Unfortunately, only the “South Wind” was fried for too long and was very dry. But since there was more than enough of everything else, it wasn't that important. Together with the very friendly staff and the nice atmosphere, it was a really successful evening.

The waiter was helpful, friendly and tried to answer questions about the ingredients. Unfortunately my main course was cold, but tasted very tasty. The meat was a little too dry but well seasoned and still good with the great dips. We had tea, which was also great. The desserts we tried were very sweet, which was to be expected, but I certainly enjoyed them. Since the restaurant was only staffed by three service staff, they had a lot to do and you had to take action yourself if you had any further requests.

I made a reservation for 2 people yesterday and pre-ordered by phone, unfortunately they forgot what we had pre-ordered and we got the wrong order and the food was cold. So my wife and I didn't like the food, but that's to be honest. The employee from Service was nice.
