Food was okay so far but unfortunately I expected much better from the 4 course menu. The price of €95 for two people with a drink is far too much for the food. Dessert/baklava can be much better and black tea with a filter doesn't work at all. A semaver would be appropriate.

We would be left standing at the entrance for quite a long time. The lemonades were very tasty, I thought the food was pretty average. In summer the atmosphere on the terrace is certainly very nice!

Very tasty oriental restaurant with a large selection that we can absolutely recommend. The two of us had 7 starters and a tajine as main courses, one vegetarian and one with lamb. Both were super tasty and authentic We will definitely come back next time we are in Trier

We visited the magic lamp on Saturday evening with a guest who is a vegetarian. Only possible with reservation. Despite the restaurant being completely full, the service was pleasantly relaxed and prompt, and the food we ordered arrived in a reasonable time and without delay. There are incredibly delicious (non-alcoholic) cocktails and the food is very varied and tastes excellent! Also highly recommended for vegetarians, as the selection of vegetarian dishes is very large and they also taste very aromatic and delicious. A wonderful evening! Many thanks to the team!

The starters were very tasty. Unfortunately the food for my wife was too spicy. The minced meat skewers had two levels of spiciness, which the waiter unfortunately forgot to mention, which is why my wife burned her mouth right at the beginning. Unfortunately, the service is stressful All in all it was a nice evening. We would love to come back and try out more dishes.

The food was excellent. I had lamb and the portion size was appropriate. And the side dishes are also beautifully grilled together with an excellent hummus in a separate bowl. My wife had chicken skewers which were also cooked perfectly. The only small drawback was that the music was a bit too loud and therefore no more background music. But that's also a matter of opinion. We just like things to be a little quieter.

So there were 4 of us eating there. The service was terrible, there was no beer because alcohol is a sin, but the waiter smoked a cigarette in front of the window (what a hypocrite). The food was lukewarm and the portions were absolutely not enough for main courses but relatively expensive. Given that this place was so advertised it was an absolute flop, I will neither recommend it nor eat there again.

There were 7 of us and had several menus combined. Portions were generous. The lemonades were freshly made and very tasty. The service was friendly. But had a lot to do. The restaurant was full. The food was good and tasty. But it was all delivered too fast to our tablet. We just had our first drinks and the first course was served, together with the second course. And while still eating, the main course was placed on our table. When cleaning our table after we finished, they wanted to place the dessert. We asked for more time to let the food settle, after 5 minutes they asked again, and another 5 minutes later they just placed it on our table. Never we were aked for second drinks. Personel was not very friendly, overall.

So I actually think it's bad that there is no alcohol. Everyone should decide for themselves whether they want to drink something or not I would have expected more from the food Oriental spices etc.. Freshness More or less very entt

We were there with 4 people and had the 4 course menu for €37 per person. With a menu like this I always think it's great that you can try everything. For starters there were always two of some dishes, so we always halved them so that each of us could try them. The main course was also very tasty and a lot. With the 4-course menu, the dessert could be a little larger for 4 people so that everyone has something from each other, so we halved everything again. The atmosphere is very cozy and nice. The service was very friendly and polite. We would love to come back.

The place look ok but you’re sitting on a wooden bench with no pillows. The starters are quite small and not really what I’m use to in other Middle Eastern restaurants. The meat was very good and the portion was enough. Good service. Unfortunately no Arabic coffee ( with cardamom) for desert . A bit pricy.

Hello, once again in the magic lamp for dinner. Hummus is very good and absolutely recommended. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. The waiter came across as a bit rushed. Conclusion: We would love to come back. It's best to reserve a table online.

We had a mix of delicious starters: baba ganoush, hummus, pepper tapenade, stuffed pastries with chicken, cheese and beef and a salad served with bread. All were very tasty and a real treat. Our main dish were very nice and spicy lambskewers with vegetables, bread, some rice and fries (odd for a Middle Eastern kitchen). It is also a bit strange that the dishes' names are so strange (baba ganous and hummus are not called that way).

Unfortunately very disappointing...we were there with family and although the service was very nice it didn't make the food any better. Ordered a grill plate for €37 and didn't get anything in return, definitely not again. Portion was suitable for children but not for an adult. And at this awesome price. Therefore, unfortunately not recommended... you'll lose your money there but you won't get full. We were extremely disappointed...

The whole thing tasted okay, but was relatively bland. The chicken was very dry. There were no sauces/dips included or not offered when ordering. The food was also relatively heavy on our stomachs. The non-alcoholic drink selection was very good. The ambience is ancient and relatively dark (old pub), but the lighting makes it cozy. The service was attentive and on point. I can't really understand the hype surrounding the store. At some point we might come back again and try another main course...

Wir hatten mit einer Gruppe von 7 Leuten dort zum Abendessen reserviert. Das Essen war sehr lecker, das Servicepersonal war sehr aufmerksam. Man fühlt sich ein bischen in den Orient versetzt. Im Lokal wird kein Alkohol serviert, dafür gibt es sehr leckere alkoholfreie Cocktails. Wenn wir nochmal in Trier sind, kommen wir gerne wieder.

The three of us got a table on a Sunday evening, quite spontaneously and without a reservation. However, it was also the last one available. Guests who arrived after us either had to wait or leave. In any case, we received a very nice welcome. The service was very friendly and helpful throughout the evening. We shared the mixed appetizer platter. Flatbread, small, sliced ​​olives, 3 different dumplings and three different creams. Our favorite was the paprika-topmaten cream, but everything else tasted very good too. For the main course I had the spice miracle, chicken with vegetables and rice cooked in a clay pot and gratinated with cheese. It's also available without cheese and that would be a better choice for me. Except for the bland cheese, it was very pleasantly seasoned and perfectly prepared. The rice was al dente but not hard and the chicken was very tender. All in all, a very nice meal in a nice and friendly atmosphere. The only things I don't like are, on the one hand, due to our ignorance and a faux pas. Immediately after ordering, the flatbread was put on the table. Not knowing that this was part of the starter and because we were hungry, we immediately helped ourselves to it. This meant that there wasn't enough left over for the starter afterwards and, above all, that I felt full too early. Although it was due to our greed, it would have easily been avoided if the flatbread only came to the table together with the accompanying starter. Another faux pas that I don't find pleasant is the way we got our cutlery. Cutlery holders are completely fine. For hygiene reasons, the handles should always be upwards. In our case it wasn't like that. We had to hold the cutlery by the knife edge or the fork by the tines. Conclusion, a few simple little things that I didn't like, but still a very good recommendation for a nice evening in a friendly atmosphere and with very tasty food.
