Very tasty there and a large menu with a lot to choose from. The schnitzels in normal are 2 times and a lot. Small is actually enough. Lots of side dish variations on the menu. Service was friendly and the waiting time was completely acceptable when the restaurant was full. Simple interior and worth a visit. Reservations are an advantage! If you have too much, you can take it with you and taste delicious on a roll the next day 😋

For a restaurant that calls itself a “schnitzel farm”, but after 3/5 visits they can’t manage to properly pound the schnitzel without leaving some 3cm thick spots on the schnitzel, let alone throwing the “original Viennese veal schnitzel” half raw at you - plus the extremely poor meat quality, which was confirmed at every visit! This was my fifth time eating there and therefore the last time. Really no longer recommended! ready sauces! Extremely unfriendly service.

The food is not a masterpiece. The sauce was way too thick and the schnitzel was just average. Nevertheless, the price performance is right here. This isn't a high-end restaurant, it's the schnitzel farm. That's what it's good for. Service is friendly, you'll get full, it's fine. Only one star deducted for the sauce and breading.

I was there again today after 2 years and was actually happy to eat my beloved Jägerschnitzel. However, the schnitzel was very greasy and the breading was soaked in fat. I found the sauce even worse, a really thick, almost pudding-like mass with a few canned mushrooms in it that was, no joke, inedible! The waitress offered me a different sauce and brought me a cream sauce that was exactly the same as the hunter sauce only without the mushrooms. It's more of a sealant, not a sauce. By the way, our neighbors had the same opinion. It's a shame, the store used to be really good. From what it looked like, new owner. Very very disappointed. Ahh and there are no more card payments either……

I'll start with the negative. Unfortunately, the first glass I received was not rinsed clean. And unfortunately my knife wasn't clean either. Unfortunately, the spaetzle were only lukewarm when they were on our table. But I would still definitely recommend the restaurant!! The food tasted great and the quantity was more than enough (as a Swabian, of course I ate everything). But the normal portion is already a large portion. Price performance is top!! The night view (tiramisu) was also a really big piece. The service was very courteous and nice. I will definitely eat here again! The negative things mentioned at the beginning were certainly exceptions that probably 98% of the other guests didn't even complain about.

Even though it was medium busy, staff were unable to clean up a pile of spilled fries on the floor. Potatoes are like fried potatoes there. The Coca Cola I ordered is Pepsi and there is no decent beer either. Schnitzel and cordon bleu were good. Fries in deep fryer for way too long. Haven't been replaced. Pepsi Cola, which declined, was offset. Were there 3 times. This time is definitely the last time.

Ich war am Samstag das 5. mal in diesem Jahr dort und es hat mir und allen Begleitern super gefallen. Eine gute solide Wirtshaus Küche mit sehr großen Portionen. Die Bedienung war freundlich und preislich alles vollkommen in Ordnung. Ich komme gerne wieder.

I was there today for dinner with my wife, the waitress immediately came and asked what we wanted to drink. A short time later the food was served. Zum mitnehmen bestellt: 17€ für ein Schnitzel(kleines Stück schon abgeschnitten) das nichtmal so groß wie meine Hand ist (die ist nicht grade groß) mit laprigen Bratkartoffeln! Schade war früher meistens zufrieden … Leider nicht zu empfehlen!

Kenne das Lokal schon seit 50 Jahren,früher noch Meisterklause. War immer schon bekannt für seine großen Portionen. Das ist heute noch so, leider hat die Qualität stark nachgelassen. Mehr Panade als Fleisch,Saucen aus der Tüte und geschmacklos. Personal freundlich und Bier kalt und gut,leider die einzigen Pluspunkte. Werden wohl nicht mehr kommen...

After a long time we went to the schnitzel farm to eat again. As for the food itself, the schnitzels are big and good, but the ready-made sauce ruins it. We had a great incident. A chef from the restaurant was sitting among the guests and was talking loudly on the phone to the boss. Complains to the boss about the quality of what he is supposed to put on the table for the guests, about his wages and the hours, which I don't want to go into any further details ;-) Unfortunately, we had already ordered at that point and had this in mind as we ate. The chef then put his cell phone on the table and played music to disturb the guests and wait in vain for the boss... Was there a reaction from the restaurant from the waitress? Nobody said anything or intervened. It's amusing how at the end you had to wait an extra long time to pay to see if there was a tip. One of our three waitresses barely spoke German and didn't understand anything. Here again? Why not for a beer and the show? But to eat in peace? No thanks!

Super big cutlets like a pillow and super good. I recommend it with clear conscience, you will not be disappointed

We're not coming back...we were there once in March and it was really good, but this time the food was so bad. The schnitzels of 3 of our friends all contained huge cartilage and the cheese spaetzle was pure mushy mush. My Curry Geschnetzeltes tasted like nothing at all. And then there’s the overpriced price…. It doesn't work at all!!!

Nice restaurant, very nice service and the food was simply delicious. If you're really hungry, this is definitely the right place for you. But you can also order small portions. We would like to come again.

After a strenuous bike ride from Hegne to Salem and back, we were tempted by the tempting smell and the sight of juicy schnitzel to make an unplanned stop. The inn turned out to be a perfect choice for our hungry family. The staff deserve special praise for their friendliness and attentiveness, especially when dealing with our child. They responded to our needs and provided a pleasant atmosphere. The portion sizes surprised us positively. The word "NORMAL" has its own meaning here - even the children's portion of spaghetti was generous. When I didn't like the cola, it was replaced without any problems and at no additional cost - a sign of the excellent service. The quality of the food was overall very good. My schnitzel was fried a little darker than usual, which I personally liked, but might not be to everyone's taste. A small suggestion for improvement would be not to place the crispy schnitzel directly on the salad to preserve the crust. My wife's schnitzel had a perfect roast but suffered from the same "salad problem". In the end we were more than full and even took something with us for later. Our campsite colleagues were happy about the unexpected treat. Conclusion: Despite small criticisms, our visit was a complete success. The large portions, the friendly service and the overall delicious food convinced us. We are already planning to come back next year with a larger group. Thank you for the great experience - we are already looking forward to our next visit!

The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food is not recommended at all. Two of our cordon blues were partially raw inside. The third had seven whole cloves of garlic in it, which was too much for our taste. A cordon blue at the next table was also returned because it was raw. Too bad

We were there today with our family, after ordering everything went smoothly. We ordered a large Cordon Bleu and received a small one. Everything was taken away and they said it would be remade. Then suddenly spaetzle arrived, but since we ordered cheese spaetzle with it, we had them go back. Then the Cordon Bleu finally arrived, my husband was really happy because everyone else was almost finished eating, after cutting it once we called the waitress again, the meat was completely raw. Then suddenly cheese spaetzle came along, but the Cordon Bleu was nowhere to be seen. When his food finally came, the cheese spaetzle were cold, but he ate them because he was hungry. As compensation for everything we got a tiramisu, all well and good but when it came time to pay the climax came. The waitress's machine had a small Cordon Bleu in it. She then said that as the machine was good again, we only had to pay for the small one. When everyone had paid, she suddenly came and said that the difference of €10.50 to the large Cordon Bleu was still outstanding and that we had to pay it now. I work as a restaurant manager and my husband is a chef. If so much went wrong with a guest, the compensation could have been paid to the house, at least that's the case with us.

Today I had a dinner here with my family, sadly it wasn’t as good as we expected it to be. I ordered a Pasta deluxe( which was a special offer), honestly it was horrible, and I couldn’t even eat it. The pasta was undercooked and it was tough. The prawns were bland and raw. The whole meal was tasteless. The staff gave me a free tiramisu after I told them my problems, and I’m thankful for that. But I find it hilarious that they asked me at least 3 more times if they should pack my leftover pasta after i told them that it wasn’t edible. In my opinion if you are a waiter/ waitress you should speak English but if you don’t at least speak the language of the country where you work, because here they not only don’t speak English they couldn’t even speak german fluently which caused more problems at our table(they didn’t get others orders right).

Mega schnitzel, as far as I know, I had the American schnitzel with BBQ sauce Taste 10/10. Sitting inside and outside is possible. However, mosquitoes are annoying outside

We discovered this German specialty during our stay at Lake Constance. Far from being the ideal dish for body summer, we must admit that these breaded pork escalopes are a delight!! Good to know: if you don't have a big appetite, the small one will already be too big for you 😅 when you take the "normal", you end up with 2 Schnitzle on the plate. The waitresses are very nice 😊 Only small downside: the restaurant does not take cards, remember to withdraw money beforehand.

I find your reaction to the criticism commendable, so I'm happy to change it if I'm on holiday in the area again. Renovating the playground is definitely a good start. Original review: If you had listened to the negative reviews, you wouldn't have gone there in the first place. Price-performance is sufficient. But that was it. The schnitzels themselves are ok and if you look closely, it is clear that “normal” is not a simple schnitzel. Meat weight fluffy 500g. There is also breading, side dish and sauce. The latter, however, is dressed far too thickly and looks like it was made from a sauce thickener and mushrooms thrown in. Since the spaetzle is also unusually floury, it is difficult even for an “experienced” eater to manage everything. Especially because the overall taste of a restaurant is not worthy. Unfortunately, the snack bar is better. The operation can be divided into 2 groups. The gentlemen are friendly, committed and quick. The ladies are somewhat friendly but very taciturn and not very attentive. There seems to be a lot of incorrect orders taken/issued, including at our neighboring table. In addition, and I find this particularly bad, they cannot properly implement the existing mask requirement. On the one hand, as staff you should avoid it on purpose! wearing the mask under your nose and, on the other hand, wearing a mask that doesn't fit properly. An absolute no-go at the moment. Last but not least, there is the shaky-looking children's playground. Either make sense or just leave it out. Even the stairs there pose a risk of accidents for young and old. It's a shame, we won't be coming back like this.

I was here regularly 2 years ago when I was on vacation at Lake Constance. Back then, the restaurant was always full and reservations were required. Today I was there again. It was almost yawning empty, only 5 tables in total were occupied. I think the owner has changed here, I didn't recognize any of the staff. Unfortunately, the schnitzels are no longer as thick and crispy as before. The breading was partly soft and just greasy, and there was cartilage in the schnitzel itself. The quantity hasn't changed, I was more than full. However, the fries had a fishy aftertaste and the plates at our table were already being cleared away while one of us was still eating. Card payments are no longer possible, as was the case back then. Unfortunately, the quality has decreased in every respect - that also explains the empty restaurant. Therefore only 2 stars. A pity!

The Schnitzelfarm restaurant offers delicious schnitzels in generous portions that taste impressive. The atmosphere is pleasant, but the service could be more attentive, as the waitresses came by relatively rarely even though there was little going on. You should also note that only cash payment is possible.

Unfortunately I haven't had such a bad meal in a long time... Ordered: Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes Get: Chicken schnitzel with croquettes I was asked again if it had croquettes and I said fried potatoes again. The sauce was forgotten and when I received it afterwards it was more like a pudding than a sauce. The staff speaks German very poorly and often disappeared for more than 10 minutes even though there were only a few guests there. And the cherry on top was that when the fried potatoes came, they tasted like fish. If you then put 1 and 1 together you can assume that the fish and potatoes on offer were fried in the same oil. Clear recommendation not to go here.

I've wanted to go there for a long time, but I question whether I'll eat there again. The cordon bleu was okay, but I expected better, to be honest - and with a lot of garlic, so the people around me gave me a wide berth for two days. 🫢

Just the right thing for when you're really hungry.

This place gets five stars not for its quality, but for its incredible value. Here you come because you are seriously hungry and you want to stuff yourself, not to experience some refined delicacies of the local cuisine. But the schnitzels here are of high-quality, they stay crispy until the last bite and they probably are the largest you ever had on your plate. And it’s 2 of them! All of this you get with a choice of side dishes, including a mixed salad or french fries or potato salad for under €23. And that’s why they deserve five stars. Just don’t forget your cash, for reasons only known to them they don’t take cards.

Highly recommended. Good quality and quick service. Even though it was relatively full we didn't have to wait long.

The food was good although quite expensive. The staff doesn't speak a word of German, but tries to take orders in German. So you get an espresso instead of a Hefeweizen, even after asking twice whether you also want a beer. You can also only pay with cash, I didn't notice that this was written anywhere.

If you like eating schnitzel, this is the right place for you. Schnitzel in all variations and everything is delicious.

First: The service is great. Friendly, hardworking and really quick. Unfortunately, the food is the sticking point here. The portions are huge, and the concept is good too. In the last 3 months I have tried pike perch fillet, schnitzel and cordon bleu. It all seems a little carelessly cooked to me. The attempt here is to get as much as possible on the plate with minimal use of goods, at the complete expense of quality. Finished products as far as the palate is still able to taste. I understand the price pressure in the catering industry very well, but I find the service provided here to be disproportionate. It's a shame, I won't be coming back for the time being.

I'm very sorry but it just wasn't good. I was looking forward to the asparagus with fried potatoes. The asparagus had no taste and was so watery and fibrous, I immediately let it go back. I then ordered a gravy to go with the fried potatoes, the gravy (€3.20 just the gravy) was 100% tasteless. My colleagues had schnitzel, they were satisfied so far, unfortunately I won't be coming back. Wish the restaurant all the best and keep your fingers crossed that you get things going.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the schnitzel farm. We sat in the winter garden. The ambience is very nice, but it's a shame that you're allowed to smoke in the winter garden while you're eating. Very unpleasant as a non-smoker when you have smoke in your nose all the time. Unfortunately, the food was absolutely not convincing either. I had the cheese spaetzle. These were swimming in cream and covered with chili oil or something similar. Way too greasy and absolutely not tasty. The worst I've ever had. But maybe it's your own fault if you order cheese spaetzle at the schnitzel farm. The schnitzel from the others in the group was OK but definitely not a good schnitzel.

There were six of us there, with a reservation. It was during the week and not crowded. Very large selection of different schnitzels and cordon bleu. There is also an original Wiener Schnitzel. We all got our food at the same time. Everything tasted very good without exception. The normal portion is very large. If you're really hungry, you can grab the normal portion. If you are normally hungry, the small version is sufficient. 😂 Oh, and don’t forget, the french fries were outstanding! Friendly staff.

The location was very nice, the staff was rather intrusive, my partner was still working on the menu and the staff asked twice, no card payment possible, only PayPal, very loud because of the regulars' table behind us. While eating, as a Swiss, I came across a "Swiss-style" sausage salad that was extremely vinegary. True, it's a matter of taste, but the sausage salad in Switzerland is served with a mild French sauce. Sorry about the German sausage salad, I know there's a lot of vinegar in it. But we will still come back to try the schnitzels. It was only enough for something small because there was no card payment.

Bei unserer Abholung wurde etwas vergessen und nicht eingepackt. Noch während der Heimfahrt wurde bei uns angerufen und das mitgeteilt. Da mein Mann schon fast zu Hause war, wurde das Essen zu uns nach Hause geliefert. Es ging sehr schnell. Ausserdem wurde als Entschuldigung noch ein Dessert mitgeliefert. Das Essen ist ja sowieso gigantisch, aber dieser Service, unglaublich. Vielen lieben Dank.

La brutta copia del ristorante mitico di qualche anno fa. Menù vastissimo, a prima vista, ma la varietà dei piatti riguarda soltanto le salse di accompagnamento. Per il resto, schnitzel grondanti olio, patate gratinate con aglio in polvere (!), quindi immangiabili, Wiener pietosa. Personale volenteroso, ma di estrazione straniera: comprende il 50 per cento di quello che si chiede. Conto assurdo, nel rapporto qualità/prezzo. A non rivederci.

From January to September 2023 everything was very good (4 - 5 stars). We went out to eat 2 or 3 times a month. Unfortunately, something like this has been happening more often lately (see 2nd picture, October 2023. Filling, zero or burnt fried potatoes. We were there for the last time on March 9, 24 and decided not to go there again. Food was served on ice-cold plates, so that the food was cold within a very short time. The staff can barely speak German and don't understand you.

It was fantastic and the food was simply great. If we find ourselves in this corner again, we would definitely be happy to come back.

We wanted to spontaneously eat a delicious schnitzel. The idyllic location on the edge of the forest in Hegne and the easy parking on site seemed ideal to us. We always used to love going there. But now a sign awaited us right at the entrance stating that card payments were not possible. This was also confirmed by the waitress. It's unbelievable that at a time when even the kebab shop next door accepts cashless payments, this restaurant can only be entered with bags full of cash. The owner doesn't seem to need it. So another restaurant made money from us that day.

The restaurant was very nice as was the staff. The food tasted tasty and was very plentiful 😊 maybe a little tip to the kitchen if the sauces had been completely homemade and not just "pimped up" it would have been great 😉👍

Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars. I had pasta with spinach. It was really inedible and tasted totally rancid. The salad with schnitzel on top didn't convince me either. The schnitzel resembled the sole of a shoe and was completely dry. The portions are large, but the quality is lacking. Then it's better to have slightly smaller portions, but you shouldn't skimp on the quality of the food. You just notice that. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly good either. I expected more...

Dass essen hat stark nach gelassen..ich weiß aus sicherer Quelle dass das gesamte Personal vom Kellner biss zum Koch aus Ost Europa stammen..was ja nicht schlimm ist aber mit deutscher Küche hat dass nichts mehr zu tun..was mann an der Qualität merkt...sossen sind alle geschmacklos geworden meine Spätzle wahren nich fertig gekocht dass Fleisch war in Ordnung...aber es besteht Handlungs bedarf...vom eigentümer

We were for lunch, very friendly welcome, very friendly staff. Parking right in front of the house! The food was very tasty. The main courses are huge, that's what the schnitzel farm is known for! 👍😋😀 Of course, a delicious dessert at the end, so delicious!!!

The veal schnitzel (€26.50) was ok, but nothing special. I expected more from a place called Schnitzelfarm, what a shame. Side dishes were okay and fresh. I found it cheeky: For cheap discounters SchwipSchwap Cola Mix they charge 4.50 for 400ml... We came from further away, but unfortunately our expectations were not met.

Wir waren früher öfter da,weil das mal die erste Adresse für Schnitzel war.Nachdem unser Besuch im Okt.23 schon nix besonderes mehr war toppte der letzte Besuch alles! Die Schnitzel klein und hart wie ein Brett.Die Pommes halb verbrannt und der Salat verdiente diesen Namen nicht!Geschmacklich alles eine Katastrophe!Was ist nur mit diesem Lokal passiert?!Für uns bei den jetzigen Inhabern-nie wieder!!

The fried potatoes ugh ugh, didn't have much to do with 'fried' potatoes, very much light, sloppy, very fatty. There was also a lot of fat on the plate with the cordon bleu, put it on a paper towel and the problem was solved. The salad was ok, lacked some love. The drinks and food came to the table surprisingly quickly. The service was very friendly and endearing, we would even like to say that the lady was incredibly warm and had a heart for kids. Thank you ♥️ The ambience of the restaurant is really nice, you can feel comfortable there, the terrace is also large and definitely great in summer... we will try it out. The criticism is not meant in a bad way, criticism does not always have to be negative, on the contrary. We'll definitely be back. If you're a fan of schnitzel and cordon bleu, you're in good hands at the schnitzel farm.
