Die Sattlerei - beef & more in Darmstadt

The Darmstadt saddlery has once again completely convinced me! The meat was of exceptional quality, cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were creative and tasted great. The German young bull fillet in particular was a delight, and the selection of wines and craft beers complemented the dining experience perfectly. The ambience is modern and stylish, but still cozy. The service was attentive, friendly and competent, which made us feel completely comfortable. I will definitely come back and can recommend the saddlery to anyone who values ​​high-quality food and a special evening. Many thanks to the team for this great evening!

Ein wunderbares Ambiente und eine verlockende Speisekarte haben uns erwartet. Gut, die Preise sind nicht ohne aber das war uns ja vorab schon klar. Wir haben alle Steak gegessen (6 Personen) und leider war das Fleisch bei fast allen nicht wirklich heiß (eher mäßig warm). Reklamiert haben wir es nicht, dafür war der Hunger mittlerweile zu groß....

It was very narrow so the table next to us was close, but the taste, service, and atmosphere were really good.

We had a very nice evening in the saddlery in Darmstadt. As a starter we tried the beef tartare and the octopus - both absolutely excellent, both in terms of taste and preparation. For the main course we chose the 400g rib eye steak and the truffle spaghetti. The rib eye was cooked to perfection and the spinach that was served with it was also excellently prepared. The truffle spaghetti was delicious, although we have experienced it elsewhere in a more intense and sophisticated way. At the end there was cheesecake, which we also enjoyed. Particularly noteworthy is the great ambience, which creates a very pleasant atmosphere. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. A small suggestion for improvement would be to tweak a few things in the service to really round off the evening perfectly. Overall, a great experience that we would happily recommend.

Herausragende Produktqualität, angenehmes, unaufgeregt-modernes Ambiente. Der Besuch war ein wirklich lohnendes Erlebnis!

Wir hatten einen persönlichen Anlass zur Feier und suchten nach einem schönen Restaurant mit außergewöhnlich leckerem Essen und einem warmen Ambiente. Dieses Restaurant war das erste was mir angezeigt wurde als ich nach den besten Restaurants in Darmstadt suchte und es hat mich sofort überzeugt! Wir bestellten das USDE Steak und T-Bone, es war wirklich ein himmlischer Genuss! Und die Bedienung war ebenfalls sehr freundlich zu allen, insgesamt war die Laune im Restaurant total angenehm und wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen. Vielen Dank für die leckere Erfahrung!

Simply cozy, totally delicious and good meat

Das Essen war von vorne bis hinten Spitzenklasse. Sowohl das Steak (USDA PRIME Rib) als auch die Beilagen (die Weltbeste Sauce Hollondaise!!) waren einfach perfekt. Natürlich ist ein Besuch in der Sattlerei hochpreisig, aber auch ein wirklicher Genuss!

Vorspeisen, danach Steaks, Tuna Steak, Beilagen, Caesars Salad, waren sehr gut, geschmacklich, Gargrat, Konsistenz. Die Weine Montes „Alpha“ Cabernet Sauvignon, Rewen „Estate“ Malbec sind perfekte Begleiter zum Fleisch. Sonderwünsche wurden erfüllt! Der Service war perfekt. Wir kommen wieder!

Everything was simply great, came across it by chance and became regular customers straight away. The only suggestion: for women, a card without prizes.

I have been eating at the saddlery for many years. The food, fillet steak, and the side dishes are simply delicious. The service is world class! I actually go there 2-3 times every year and it's always a pleasure!

The food was very tasty, but overall the price level was just too high for us. Apart from that, we would have liked to stay a while longer, but since the restaurant works with table times, we had to leave the restaurant at a quarter to eight. There was no possibility to sit down somewhere else and have a comfortable drink.

If you're in the mood for steak, you should come here. The best steak in Darmstadt and the surrounding area. The steak is very tasty and as someone who is very picky with his steak, I was very satisfied.

Good food at very high prices. At a price of just under 40 euros for a (small) steak, I personally think that the side dishes and sauces have to be added on top of that is excessively expensive. 6 euros for a portion of fries and 5 euros for a piece of herb butter. Unfortunately, the high prices don't match the overall ambience of the restaurant.

The food was very tasty, the drinks complemented the meal wonderfully. The service was courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Small shadow is the intended stay time of 1h45min. We would have liked to have stayed longer. A very nice evening with you on a special occasion.

It was our first time in the saddlery and we will go again! It was a really successful visit to the restaurant. Parking right in front of the door. The location is very attractive, discreet and stylish. The service staff was attentive and friendly. I found the time management in the service impressive - the slots are designed for 1 hour 45 minutes and were perfectly managed, no fast food but also no long waiting times between courses. There are professionals at work here. The quality of the meat was sensational. I deducted a very small point because of the doneness of the fillet. My husband and I both ordered medium-rare, one steak was perfect, the other was a little “done” and the same size. Am I being petty? No, just connoisseurs with precise ideas. Otherwise everything was perfect. The selection of drinks, especially the wines, should be praised, a good selection with a wide range, something for everyone. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Went there spontaneously today, without a reservation. We were lucky and got a place (for 2) after consultation. So it's better to reserve in advance, especially for larger groups. The service was great and really on point without being intrusive. The burger was incredibly tasty and the truffle pasta was apparently too 😉 Always my pleasure!

An excellent restaurant with selected food and drinks. The staff was very attentive and friendly. That's what you pay your money for. Unfortunately it was quite loud overall in the busy old saddlery, but it was better that way than too quiet! I will come back!

Outstanding food (I had the Argentinian fillet steak), good wine list, very attentive and friendly service, very pleasant atmosphere. When making your reservation you just have to decide on a very early (from 5.30 p.m.) or a rather late time slot. This is understandable, but not ideal. I had pre-ordered flowers for my wife when I made the reservation. That also worked perfectly. The bouquet was very beautiful.

A nice feeling to be welcomed so warmly with a dog. The whole atmosphere is very calm, which is also conveyed by the service team - discreetly attentive, relaxed and very nice. The memory card was chosen carefully - saying it's delicious for food would actually be an understatement. Keep it up!

Unsere Erwartungen wurden um weites übertroffen. Qualität hervorragend, Service sehr zu vorkommenden und total nett und das Ambiente ist sehr schön und entspannt. Man vergisst sehr schnell den Alltag und fühlt sich rund rum wohl. Wir sagen eindeutig unser absolutes Lieblings Restaurant was man hier in Hessen finden kann.

What's a bit annoying is the number of flies on the terrace while we're eating. But that is due to the surrounding area (stables, etc.) and there is little the catering industry can do. Grundsätzlich waren wir zufrieden. Das Lokal ist stilvoll, der Service grundsätzlich gut, die Qualität des Essens ist dem Preis grundsätzlich angemessen. Allerdings wird alles extra abgerechnet (Beilagen, Dips oder Soßen zu einigen Hauptspeisen); grundsätzlich natürlich legitim, allerdings preislich, im Verhältnis zu der Portionsgröße des jeweiligen Extras, wahrlich nicht günstig (besonders die Dips). Die Speisen waren allgemein ziemlich salzig. Wer eher ungesalzene Speisen bevorzugt sollte hier dem Service bescheid geben bei der Bestellung. Die Getränke sind mit günstig nicht zu beschreiben, allerdings ihren Preis wert. Besonders die Gin-Auswahl war vorzüglich. An unserem Abend war zwischen Vorspeise und Hauptgang knapp 2 Stunden vergangen. Ich persönlich fand es noch nicht störend, allerdings meine Begleitungen schon; außerdem hätte der Service ein wenig öfter am Tisch sein können um z. B. Getränke nachzufragen. Bei den Preises des Lokals wäre das zu erwarten und ich denke grundsätzlich wäre es auch das Grundverständnis des Lokals und dessen Service. Einmal wurde mein bestelltes Trinken vergessen; sehr schade aber passiert eben auch mal. Ansonsten ein sehr zuvorkommender Service.

Kurzfristig Abends über die Internetseite einen Tisch reserviert und ein großzügiges Zeitfenster erhalten. Da wir uns etwas verspätet hatten, rief ich an und dies war kein Problem. Eine gute Auswahl an Gin. Kenner kommen auf ihre Kosten. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Der uns bedienende Mitarbeiter strahlte eine Ruhe und Gelassenheit aus, die es sehr angenehm machte und wir das Gefühl hatten, herzliche willkommene Gäste zu sein. Das Essen war hervorragend. Exzellentes Fleisch, ein Stück Rinderfilet und Entreco, butterzart und hervorragend gewürzt. Eine Jus war mit auf dem Teller. Die Beilage wurde extra serviert. Dadurch stand das Steak völlig zurecht im Fokus. Ein Abzug von mir gibt es bezüglich der Beilagen und Soßen/Dips die man dazu wählen kann und auch zusätzlich bezahlen muss. Auch sind diese im Preis über dem Durchschnitt. Nach dem Essen der Kaffee/Espresso war geschmacklich nicht berauschend. Allerdings ist das jammern auf hohem Niveau. Die Desserts dazu waren wiederum ein Genuss. Das Himbeersorbet kam aus eigener Herstellung. Der Aussenbereich ist sehr stimmig dekoriert und mit dem alten Gebäude der Sattlerei eine wahre Atmosphäre der das Genießen des Essens verstärkt. Mich persönlich hat die Musik die doch recht laut war etwas gestört. Ansonsten haben wir einen rundum gelungenen Abend gehabt und es ist definitiv nicht der einzige Besuch dort gewesen.

Great atmosphere, inside and outside. Best meat quality & preparation. All other dishes are also convincing in terms of taste and quality, as well as a well-stocked drinks menu, great wine selections and selected types of champagne (Ruinart Rosé). Top service staff, unobtrusive and reserved, but with an eye on everything. My whole family felt that way. Many thanks to the top team on site. We always enjoy coming back for little culinary breaks.

The somewhat casually worded sign "Geile Steaks - in 50 meters" on Kranichsteiner Straße, which points to "Die Sattlerei - beef & more", hits the mark. The interior of the restaurant is modern, dark, simple, but still not uncomfortable. The gravelled beer garden is unpretentious; on warm summer evenings, the large old trees provide shade, depending on the location of the table. When it gets dark, small, elegant table lamps provide cozy light while eating. Not cheap, but “inexpensive”, the steaks in particular are of outstanding quality. Best meat, fried exactly to your liking. The side dishes, such as sweet potato fries, green asparagus and a truffle aioli, were perfectly prepared and seasoned, as were the fresh homemade potato chips. The cellar beer-like Faust tastes fantastic with a Canadian smoky, aromatic RibEye, and the wine selection is large. A small but very fine selection of desserts should leave nothing to be desired for those with a sweet tooth. The staff has an urban-hip look, dressed entirely in black, but despite the relaxed, casual tone - a joke is sometimes made when the opportunity arises - all the waiters are very attentive, friendly and accommodating. Our third visit impressed us just as much as the previous two. We can recommend “The Saddlery” 100%.

The food was, as always, very tasty. The beer garden is large and under the umbrellas you can find good protection even in light rain and enjoy the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.

A really nice restaurant with a large outdoor area and a nice, cozy atmosphere inside. If you like really good steaks cooked to perfection, this is the place for you. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly, helpful and responds to customers' special requests. Parking spaces are available in front of the door. Since the restaurant is located in the middle of a riding stable, you also have the opportunity to admire the beautiful horses that run by. In terms of drinks, the restaurant is also very well equipped, there are various cocktails, different types of beer and of course the well-known soft drinks. I would describe it as a bit on the higher end, but it's worth every penny.

The food was tasty, had depth, appealed to differentiated taste buds and was attractively presented. The service personnel were divided into “hierarchies” with regard to task responsibility. Our waiter was quite unmotivated. You had a bad feeling about asking for the bill, for example, because of the waiter's gestures and facial expressions. The ambience and service are top, but price-performance or standards and reality are not there. For everyone who is now irritated: As a foodie, a steakhouse in Frankfurt's Westend in the immediate vicinity of the café in the Palmengarten is the benchmark for me. We paid €235 for a meal that was worth around €150. Reasons: The additional tartar components were too salty. Instead of a German fillet (39€) in medium well, a more expensive sousvide US fillet (49€) in medium well came, but what makes it dramatic is that it was said that with the cell phone light it would be visible that it was only medium. Strangely enough, my companion's medium steak was definitely pinker, meaning it was actually medium, even without the cell phone light. Last but not least, there was a sweet raspberry sorbet that lacked any lightness or freshness.

Für alle die jetzt irritiert sind: Als Foodie ist für mich ein Steakhouse im Frankfurter Westend in der direkten Nähe des Cafés im Palmengarten die Messlatte. Wir haben 235€ gezahlt für ein Essen, dass etwa 150€ wert war. Gründe: Die Tatar Zusatzkomponenten waren versalzen. Statt eines deutschen Filets (39€) in Medium kam eine teureres Sousvide US-Filet (49€)in Medium Well, aber was es dramatisch macht ist, dass gesagt wurde, mit der Handybeleuchtung sichtbar wäre, dass es nur Medium ist. Komischerweise war das Medium Steak meiner Begleitung eindeutig rosaner also tatsächlich Medium auch ohne Handybeleuchtung. Zu guter Letzt gab es ein pappsüßes Himbeersorbet dem jegliche Leichtigkeit und Frische fehlte.

The garden and architecture of the restaurant were incredibly beautiful. The food was excellent and every dish was prepared with great care. The service was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Hello everyone, Basically a really good shop, I was very happy with the food. As a starter there was tartare but without all the frills, a quail egg on top and that was it (I didn't want anything more) otherwise there would be the usual anchovies etc main dish That USDA Steak Grain Rib Eye It was really a treat for the palate and I can only recommend it Plus a Coles salad and Cajun fries But now we come to the drawback where I really had to pull myself together and not piss off the waiter, because when I entered the shop it was rainy outside, my desire was a table for one person, possibly outside in a dry place . Of course I asked the waiter this after the greeting and his answer was "No, it's raining outside as you can see." As if I wasn't aware of that when I asked for a dry place outside. Well I didn't go into it, which makes me very proud of myself *pat on the back* because I have a really VERY short fuse. Long story short I was sitting inside eating and once someone else came and served me, maybe it was the head waiter (mind you, his service was first class 👌🏽) and the drops were sucked. The “good” waiter got a €10 tip, which is a matter of principle that I stick to, even if the sports fan, strictly speaking, did NOT deserve it. And HIM's question after he runs away and turns around whether it fits was unnecessary, as was his greeting. (give the gentleman a training session, you give the bill and then something is left in at the end, you don't ask for my best friend) I will visit the store again and hope that I will be greeted by another waiter. Ps I think you know who I am.

Wie bei jedem Besuch aufs Neue.....hervorragende Qualität und herausragender Service, vielen Dank. Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen: im Innenraum vermisse ich in jedem Sommer eine Klimatisierung.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier. Der Service war einwandfrei, nett und aufmerksam, die Speisen absolute Spitze. Sehr empfohlen sei das Tartar und bei den Beilagen das Trüffelpürrée. Nichts für alle Tage aber für Fleischliebhaber und den richtigen Anlass sehr empfohlen. Auch für Vegetarier finden sich leckere Alternativen auf der Karte, wenn auch nicht übermäßig viele.

Today we were in this wonderful location for the first time. There is simply nothing negative. The food, to the point. Rarely have I eaten such a good piece of meat. Plus the attentive service. Unreservedly recommended.

For THE price it just wasn't good enough. The quality of the meat was very mixed and we had imagined something different when it came to “very juicy”. The seasoning was tasty but too strong and hardly any of the meat's own flavor came out. Actually only the Cajun fries with the garlic mayo were really tasty. For a restaurant that focuses on meat, the overall picture is simply not right. Next time we'll go to Olbrick, just for the "Olbrick Signature Fries".

Best steak experience in the Rhine Main area, the surroundings and the journey to the area are an experience. The quality of the food and the extremely competent advice on the individual types of steak was phenomenal. Service employee Tillmann was extremely competent, nice and courteous. Absolute recommendation!

Sehr sehr gutes Restaurant mit besonderem Flair. Sehr leckeres Essen. Guter Service. Man sitzt etwas eng. Hunde sind im Restaurant erlaubt, was wir persönlich sehr unangenehm empfunden haben; besonders in einem solch hochpreisigem Restaurant, haben aus unserer Sicht Hunde nichts verloren. Ist unhygienisch (vor allem, wenn die Schnauzen der Tiere immer wieder an der Tischplatte schnüffeln) und auch für Allergiker sehr unangenehm.

Es war alles Hervorragend. Das Filet absolut auf den Punkt zubereitet. Der Wein 🍷 vorher dekantiert und sehr freundlicher Service. Freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Die Qualität der Speisen ist sehr gut. Die Steaks waren auf den Punkt zubereitet und die Beilagen (Cajun Fries, Rosmarinkartoffeln, Süßkartoffeln, Coleslaw, grüner Spargel) sehr schmackhaft und auch angemessen groß. Die Getränkeauswahl ist reichhaltig und die alkoholfreien Getränke sehr schmackhaft. Das Preisniveau ist für die super Qualität der Hauptspeisen angemessen. Einziger Minuspunkt waren für uns die Preise für die Vorspeisen. Über 20 Euro für 2 King Prawn Garnelen oder für 6 Scheiben "Tuna Royal" geht gar nicht. Das ist echt überteuert. Der Espresso als Abschluss war ebenfalls sehr gut. Daher meine Empfehlung: Vorspeisen weglassen und lieber das größere Steak beim Hauptgang oder eine Beilage mehr wählen. Alles in allem aber ein gelungener Abend. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder - dann aber ohne Vorspeise :-)

Wow what a perfect place. We were impressed by the peaceful garden seating and very stylish interior. The meat was delicious and so was the Primitivo by glass - excellent selection of whomever was in charge of the wine list. Service was very kind and attentive. We were more than satisfied!

Delicious steaks and great service

The saddlery is located just outside of Darmstadt, so a vehicle is a must. Once you arrive, there is enough parking space. Inside you are warmly welcomed and the service is very attentive. The selection of dishes is excellent, as is the quality of the food. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection, as were the other steaks at the place. The starter, the tartare, was delicious, only the mustard took away the taste a little. The wine list is exceptional and leaves nothing to be desired. The side dishes could definitely have used a little salt, but that's also my personal taste. We'd love to come back

“Die Sattlerei” is a fabulous place with excellent food and very good service. We use to go there only on special occasions, as it is quite expensive.

The cheeseburger is recommended.
