I was here on November 8th, 2025, with two people, and it wasn't my first time. Great atmosphere, superb food, and friendly service. The restaurant had given us a time slot of 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We ate and drank plenty during that time. What I didn't like, and why I deducted a point, was that we were told we should come during the week if we wanted more time to chat. The restaurant was only half full, and there were still plenty of free tables. This is a practice that shouldn't be used too often, because without customers, they don't make any money. Thank you for everything!

I'd love to complain... but I can't. The experience at the saddlery was, once again, simply too wonderful and pleasant. The welcome at the door was courteous and very friendly. The service was consistently available and approachable, but never intrusive. The accompaniment to the meal was excellent, with charm and wit, yet also the necessary seriousness. The food itself is top-notch. The ingredients, preparation, and presentation leave nothing to be desired. The appetizers were almost a main course in themselves, something we often forget. The main course (steaks) was cooked/grilled to perfection, and the side dishes were plentiful and very tasty. We would have licked the plates clean... but one doesn't do that. We simply didn't have room for dessert, even though we had already shared the side dish. We are very satisfied and will gladly return!

A wonderful evening We spent a wonderful evening at the saddlery today. Everything was perfect: the food was absolutely delicious, the service was spot on, everything was fantastic. One small drawback: the appetizer and side dishes were a bit oversized. Great for sharing, but a bit much for one person. But overall, a truly wonderful experience in a beautiful atmosphere. We're already looking forward to next time.

Food is fantastic. Loved every bite of it. The presentation of the food is amazing and the service is really good too. The ambience is also nice. You drive through a gate to get to the building and parking. It is a more fancy place to eat at but worth it for special occasions. We really liked it, it was worth every cent we paid for it. I still think about the burger and the souffle I had. Cannot recommend the souffle enough. One thing to take note is that you have a 90 minute window to eat but that is plenty of time to savour every bite.

Be sure to make a reservation via the website. The "go-to" restaurant in Darmstadt and the surrounding area when it comes to meat. Fine dining is what you get here. The main course comes alone > order side dishes separately, as do sauces. You are "welcomed" and brought to your table. The ambiance fluctuates between rustic and pleasant; no frills or pretentiousness. Parking is in the courtyard. Tables are also available outside in the summer. The service is unobtrusive and always friendly. Restrooms are clean. Dogs are allowed. Reduced menu ✅ Drinks: Standard. Espresso is "hot."

We visited the Sattlerei again after a year. Just like last time, the atmosphere was lovely and rustic. The service was still attentive and fast. The steaks and burgers were delicious, there was a great selection of specialty beers, and a wonderfully creamy cheesecake for dessert. Great!

I've been to the saddlery several times now and have never been disappointed. The price/performance ratio is definitely right here! The ambiance is a bit rustic, but still modern and upscale. As usual, very good—I dare say the truffle fries at the Goldener Affen in Bensheim are better—but no restaurant in the area can match the beef—it's top-notch! And the price is basically reasonable for the taste!

It was amazing! I often walk past the restaurant, but I'd never been inside before. The meat was delicious, and it was clear that the chef knew what they were doing. The waiter was clearly dedicated to his work. He was polite and offered suggestions if you couldn't decide.The only issue was that the meat knife was not sharp enough, but we managed. Overall, it's the perfect place for a romantic dinner.

The Sattlerei is a rather expensive restaurant. If you're aware of that and willing to spend a lot of money, this is the place for you. I had the crispy chicken burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was okay, but it didn't blow me away. I've had better burgers elsewhere for less money. It's okay to go here once, but I don't need to go again.

A solid restaurant with somewhat upscale cuisine. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of side dishes on offer. However, the prices are a bit on the high side. For a truly well-crafted burger and fries, you'll pay around €30. The ambiance is stylish, and great attention is paid to good service.

There were three of us and we were warmly welcomed at the entrance. We were shown two tables to choose from. The service was polite, a bit reserved, and quiet; they could have been more welcoming to guests. For starters, we had the steak tartare. It was very well dressed, the individual components were beautifully presented, and you have to mix your own. Nice idea; I, for one, like having the starter ready on my plate. For the main course, we ordered the fillet; cooked sous-vide and coated with herbs. Unfortunately, the steak wasn't seared crisply after the sous-vide cooking, which made it feel more like a cooked steak. The cooking quality was well-chosen. We also had the truffle Parmesan fries. They were a bit dry, with little Parmesan. Luckily, we also ordered the truffle mayo. We finished with a crème brûlée. It was delicious, standard fare. All in all, the food is okay there, but I wouldn't go back, which is due to the high prices compared to the quality of the food. In my opinion, a steak restaurant should focus on good steaks. There are better restaurants in the region at similar prices.

Highly recommended! The service is impeccable. The food is truly good, high-quality, and therefore completely justified in its higher price. Yet this restaurant, with its fantastic beer garden, isn't pretentious. You feel comfortable and welcome. Absolutely perfect for special occasions!

Reservations & Capacity: Making a reservation was surprisingly difficult, as we were told the restaurant was almost fully booked. However, at most 20-30% of the seats were occupied throughout the entire evening. This irritated us – more transparent communication would have been desirable. Service: Unfortunately, the service initially wasn't up to the standard expected in this price range. The waiter initially seemed very reserved and at times unfriendly. Later, things improved, and when a steak wasn't cooked to the desired degree, it was replaced immediately and without any problems – that was positive. Food & Prices: • The green asparagus was a real highlight: delicious and a generous portion for around €7 – highly recommended! • Some prices, however, are difficult to understand. Aperol Spritz, truffle fries, and desserts are very expensive relative to the quality. A chocolate cake without a liquid center for around €15 is borderline. • Overall, the food tasted good, but not so outstanding that the high prices would justify it. Positive: The beer selection is excellent – really varied and a big plus! Conclusion: All in all, the evening was okay, but in this price range, I expect better service and a more consistent price-performance ratio. Personally, I think there are steakhouses in Frankfurt that offer a more well-rounded overall experience.

The good news first: the USDA filet was excellent and on point. Unfortunately, tomatoes were placed on my plate even though I explicitly stated that I didn't want any tomatoes anywhere. Furthermore, the lettuce was lukewarm and mushy. The tuna tartar tasted very good, but the pieces were relatively large. You can do it that way, but I've never had it like that before. The texture is simply not good. Additionally, there's no bread or anything like that in advance. At €100 per person, that's a no-no for me personally. Since there are riding stables nearby, it was quite noisy on the terrace, and there were a lot of flies. There was a tractor parked 3 meters behind us with its engine running for 5 minutes. Weird... Service was nice per se, but to be honest, they didn't really address my feedback about the tomatoes and salad. I'd expect something different at that price point. To make matters worse, I couldn't stomach the food at all. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this saddlery. Perhaps I was just unlucky, but that was my experience, which I'm sharing here.

We ate here for the first time today and were absolutely thrilled. Great atmosphere and first-class service. Unfortunately, the kitchen cooked one dish to the wrong degree of doneness. However, the waiter promptly removed the entire meal, including the side dishes, from the bill, which we found extremely accommodating. The steak arrived very quickly and tasted excellent. A great evening and a fantastic restaurant! We'd love to come back :)

Our favorite restaurant. We always enjoy eating there with friends. With a party of 10, it's easy to break the €1,000 mark ;) but it's totally worth it. Unusual steak variations and a delicious wine list. In short, we love it.

Excellent steak in a pleasant atmosphere. Super tender and flavorful Argentinian steak, served with truly delicious fries and delicious vegetables – what more could you want?! So, if you're in the area and hungry, definitely stop by!

The staff is very nice. The tables are very close together and the atmosphere is not that nice (inside). We had rock octopus and carpaccio for starters. The beef carpaccio was good, the rock octopus not: there were no roast aromas, and no other special flavor components. For main course we had Argentinian grain fed strip loin, baked potato and a tuna steak with salad. The tuna steak was good, but again I felt it was missing a bit of a kick. The meat was very good, if a bit stringy around the edges. That spoils the dining experience; for the price you expect top quality. The side dishes were a complete over-acidic disaster: a boiled potato wrapped in foil and sour (too sour) cream, the salad was swimming in sour dressing. We drank three glasses of wine and an Aperol as an aperitif. All in all, we paid just under €200 for the two of us (they waived the salad) and the food wasn't particularly good. Summary: The food wasn't particularly tasty, and some of it was even bad. It's simply too expensive for that. The atmosphere isn't particularly cozy either. I'm happy to spend more for good food. The ingredients were of a fairly high quality, but the preparation was not.

If you want to eat truly delicious, high-quality steaks, this is the place for you. The ambiance, service, and food—everything was just perfect!

We ate there for an occasion on a recommendation....the ambience is cozy and beautifully decorated....the food is super tasty and there is nothing more to add....there is still a small drawback....you only have a time window of 1 hour 45 minutes when making a reservation....to stay relaxed and demanding.....we also had a very short supply of dessert....the service was nice, polite and very competent.....they gave us very good advice on questions about meat and the like....a Criticism nonetheless... the plate was almost cleared away without asking if you were ready... but I can still recommend it with a clear conscience...

Steakhouse with a good selection of different types of beef. Burgers, tuna and shrimp are also available. The staff is very attentive and polite, always there but not intrusive. The price level is high (around 70 EUR per person for a main course with side dishes, wine, water, espresso), but the quality of the food and the service justify it. Gladly again

I invited my wife to the saddlery for her birthday. We were there for the first time, it was recommended to me by the electrician radio. You can dine comfortably and in a quiet ambience. The staff is courteous and present. Unfortunately I couldn't take the rose I had booked with me as a table decoration. This was already emphasized when booking. Also found the table itself to be too small to arrange drinks and food. The steak was very tasty and right on point. Unfortunately the plate wasn't preheated, so the temperature was missing. Drinks menu with a very large selection. In conclusion, very tasty food at a somewhat high price level.

Meine Familie hat mich am 10 April zum essen Eingeladen da ich an diesem Tag Geburtstag hatte. Es war sehr ruhig wo wir saßen, konnten in Ruhe das Essen auswählen. Die Speisekarte läßt nichts vermissen. Als das Essen kam, was soll ich sagen, es war einfach nur lecker.
