We came here because of the many positive reviews. The food was quite simple and, again, too expensive. Basically a Turkish pizza with fries served on a board for €20

Waiting far too long for the bill

We ordered a table at 5 p.m. today, arrived without expectations and were completely surprised. Super nice service and the food 11/10 And a great atmosphere 👏🏻

We had dinner there with 5 people on a Saturday evening. Luckily we had reserved a table. Without the reservation we wouldn't have gotten a table. The selection of dishes is very large, there is something for every taste. For us it was the first time we ate there. We were very excited. But, it was all very, very tasty. From the starter, the main courses, the cocktail and the homemade lemonade. The service was top. The young lady was under a lot of stress, but she was super friendly and always asked if everything was still there. We were also pleasantly surprised at how much everything cost together. We had a very nice evening there and will definitely be happy to come back.

Food was good, we waited almost an hour for it, which isn't so nice. Service can be improved as no one asked for drinks in between, everything seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Were already in the lantern on December 29th, 2024. Unfortunately, the kitchen cannot cope with the number of tables. We were happy to wait over an hour for our dishes because we really like oriental cuisine with all its flavors. However, when our food came to the table, our joy was quickly diminished. The mixed platter for two wasn't really hot and was still mostly burnt. In retrospect, it wouldn't be worth €59, even if it was in good condition. The ambience is nice but not good. Somehow we felt it was “mass processing”.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, the food is delicious. But unfortunately nothing more. It seems to be very much about profit. The kitchen and the service cannot adequately serve the many tables that are packed close together. Everything takes a little too long, so it just spoils the impression in the end. My food was very hot as it was an over-baked dish. My companion's platter of meat was clearly too cold and still burnt in places. I don't think the prices match the quality of the restaurant. I wouldn't eat here again and wouldn't recommend the lantern.

Restaurant Laterne – A culinary oasis with warm service. The food was simply fantastic – delicious and creatively prepared. I would particularly like to highlight the service from Aycin and co., who made the evening perfect with their friendliness and attentiveness. A small suggestion for improvement: Please don't serve the Ayran in a cola glass, that just doesn't fit with the otherwise great ambience and style of the restaurant. You have such beautiful glasses otherwise ;-). Overall, I can highly recommend Restaurant Laterne and look forward to our next visit!

Unfortunately, the service that evening was totally overwhelmed. Food without cutlery, drinks forgotten, dishes only cleared when asked, etc. The food was basically OK, except for the cold ducats. Solid ambience.

Unfortunately a disappointment - very poor service in the Lantern My visit to Die Lantern restaurant was a big disappointment. The service was terrible - inattentive and slow. We had to wait over an hour for our food which is completely unacceptable. The drinks only came when specifically requested and took far too long. While other tables were served more quickly, the staff seemed uninterested in looking after us. The long wait and lack of service completely overshadowed the otherwise passable taste of the food. You don't expect this level of service in a restaurant. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Die Lantern and will probably not come back in the future.

Hello, ordered a table on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. Waiting time until it was released 15 minutes later at the insistence of the staff. Table groups of 20 like in a youth hostel. Then wait to order food. Done 15 minutes later. 45 minutes later, food at the table. The vegetarian grill plate may have fallen through the grates directly into the charcoal. Warp and ducat fries from Aldi. Fries fried rock hard. Lemon tea with 5 year old lemons that don't dissolve... According to the contract, the table was only booked for 2 hours. At the end, new guests stood next to me and urged me to finish and pay. Unfortunately I can't give any negative stars.

A wonderfully authentic, delicious and Syrian meal!! I've eaten at many establishments of this type, but none compare so well. Syrian cuisine is a challenge in itself, presenting it in such a way and guaranteeing a taste experience is a real achievement. I am impressed and overwhelmed at the same time. The food is very tasty and all adults enjoyed it. The portions were large and you were full. However, there is no special food for children. Requests for changes were not possible, which is a shame. The ambience is not that nice. Downstairs you sit so tightly that you can't have a conversation. Room dividers and seating areas bring in less sales, but they would really do the atmosphere good. We'll definitely come back, but without children!

The taste of the food was perfect, but unfortunately it was only lukewarm on the table. The ambience is very nicely decorated in an oriental style, but unfortunately also too dark. Unfortunately, I had to turn on my cell phone flashlight to read the menu. (A little tip to the service staff, just light the candles on the tables when a guest comes, otherwise why would you have decorated them on the tables) The font on the menu card is too small and doesn't stand out well from the background color, making it difficult to read in the dark. The female service staff wears plenty of jewelry on their hands. I once worked as a waiter in a restaurant and learned during hygiene training that this is not allowed because it is unhygienic. Very tasty food, fast and courteous service, friendly dealings and overall, simply recommended. The lamb chops are juicy and fantastic and the homemade lemonades/juices are simply delicious. But if you don't like rose water, you should read the menu carefully, as this is often included.

Three of us went there for dinner today. Ambiance is nice but little things like the men's toilet or the ceiling lights in the restaurant can still be improved. What seemed strange to us was that we were the first and only ones at 5 p.m. and still got the worst seat. When we left the restaurant, everything except 4 tables were still free. Not acceptable for me personally. Anyone who offers something like this in a price segment should pay attention to little things in order to get a good rating. We can't say anything bad about the food. The dishes were all very tasty and the portions were large.

We ate here for the first time today. Called spontaneously and got a seat. We didn't have to wait long for the delicious food, even though it was already busy. Unfortunately the food was extremely oily and greasy and we felt completely sick afterwards. Unfortunately, this doesn’t have much to do with Arabic cuisine…

Best meal in a long time!! Tip: Since the majority probably see it that way, it seems that 98% of the time is reserved here. We were there right at 5 p.m. and noticed that up to 15 people could still eat before the reservations were made (until around 7 p.m.). So it’s better to reserve 🙂

This restaurant never fails to please. The quality of the food service can no longer be compared after years. Staff are always ill-tempered, disorganized and unwilling to serve, as one would expect from a decent restaurant. The customer is to blame for arriving late. It's a shame, I brought my whole family there and a lot of friends. For me, the lantern is no longer recommended. Falafel tasteless, cold chips and Halloumi cheese just as hard as a rock. I hope with all my heart that this lantern I met comes back.

Syrian fast food, tasty and good.

The lantern is still a great asset to the Osnabrück gastro scene. Very friendly service, an exotic but not kitschy atmosphere and very tasty food. Both dishes were seasoned to perfection and each flatbread had a slight hint of cinnamon. The baklava wasn't quite as sweet as I know it from the Maghreb countries, but that varies greatly from region to region. Unfortunately the card payment machine failed and I had to go to the bank. But well, something like that can happen. It is and remains a top recommendation.

I was there last week with 20 people. The staff was always helpful and the atmosphere is also pleasant. There is also a large selection of food without feeling overwhelmed for a good price. Definitely worth recommending

We went to Lantern for the first time today and treated ourselves to a starter, main course and dessert. We can't complain! Waiting time, food and taste were wonderful. And a big compliment to the service. The two girls (one of whom was new, I think) provided great service. The young man who was also there and always looked after everything was right, of course! ;-) Just one small point: the french fries were unfortunately a bit soggy and not quite hot. But we weren't there for fries :) Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back🌷

Falafel totally dry, hardly any sauce. Shawarma was also totally dry, the sauce was almost completely forgotten. Service seemed totally overwhelmed, but it was almost the best part of the visit 😅

We were there with 9 adults and 1 toddler. The ambience in this restaurant is appealing and appropriate. Since we came from out of town, the first thing we did was go to the toilet. There was a “defect” sign hanging on the women’s toilet. Unfortunately, no solution was given, so we didn't know where to go now. We were then able to order quite quickly and received our drinks and appetizers quite quickly. But from that point on we waited and waited. As I said, we had 1 toddler with us! There was a fairly large group in the back area that was just being processed. After we asked what was going on with our food, the waitress in charge came and told us that the group had already pre-ordered their food the day before and that it had to be ready first... well, no reason for me That could have been prepared...all in all we waited 1.5 hours for our food. This is almost no longer reasonable. However, I have to say the food was very tasty, which made up for it. The waitress was nice so far but didn't really care about us.

Located in the heart of Osnabrück, the name hides a restaurant with Syrian and oriental dishes. The food was freshly prepared, beautifully presented and very tasty. The price/performance ratio is absolutely right. Unfortunately I had to deduct a point in the service area. The very friendly waitresses seemed a little overwhelmed; we had to wait a long time for our food. Perhaps it was also because the restaurant had a lot of visitors. In total I like to give 5 🌟 and 👍. I can only recommend the restaurant.

Let's hope that the kitchen is cleaner than the totally filthy high chair that was brought in. We always thought as we passed that it was a better kebab shop. But we were very wrong, except that the whole table was visually clean but somehow sticky. As fans of Arabic cuisine, we were not disappointed here, on the contrary, we were really excited!!! Very nice decor, very nice service and of course the super tasty food, clear 5 stars. We will come back often and eat across the menu.

Come from Norway to the incredible restaurant every single time I'm in Germany, meaning food, service, atmosphere, tasty dishes. It's one of those things I look forward to every time I visit. It has become traditional for me to be here. Highly recommended, and I look forward to the next time. 😊

It couldn't be more perfect. A beautiful shop in a perfect location, super friendly staff, reasonable prices, incredibly delicious food and the best beer in the world. We'll come by more often from now on.

Unfortunately, our table was in the entrance area and the ambience was slightly spoiled by the large number of guests coming and going.
