Deutsches Haus in Gruibingen

We've been coming here for dinner for many years, usually just the two of us, so we've always managed to get a table even on Sundays when we arrive early. It's nice to see that things are constantly being renovated, remodeled, or expanded. The food, as well as the service, is always very good. Even when the house is full, the waiters are very friendly. The junior manager also deserves special mention; he's very friendly to the guests, and I think he also has a good relationship with his employees. He steps in whenever someone is needed. I think many people would like to have a manager like that. The only thing I really don't like is that you order an aperitif before your meal, and then another drink with your meal. Shortly after the aperitif is served, the second drink arrives, and so does the meal. I don't really want to have an aperitif with my meal. The waiters could pay a little more attention to that. But we'd be happy to come back, but next time we'll skip the aperitif.

Classic german dishes as its best, I can only recommend this restaurant. The environment and the location is great and the dishes are very well made.

Very good, regional offers at fair prices. Rich menu, good beer, friendly service, fast service. We were there with two small children, for whom there were high chairs and a small coloring book with pencils, which was particularly nice. There is also a large playground outside.

We visited the German House in Gruibingen at the weekend and were completely thrilled. The reservation was absolutely hassle-free - absolutely necessary as the restaurant is busy. The service was exceptional: fast, friendly and always attentive. Swabian cuisine impresses with its quality and taste - here the cooking is traditional but at a high level. The atmosphere is very pleasant, so you immediately feel at home. There are also good parking options directly on site. Clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy good Swabian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere!

I only rate the restaurant. - Why no 5*? - Well, food & service are at a high level, very good and fast. The price level is a little higher, but still reasonable. - The disadvantage is the “speed” with which food and guests are rushed through. It seems to be more of a money machine with the aim of achieving high fluctuation. - Coziness was missing, then we would have had dessert, a nightcap/espresso. Unfortunately, the large main room has more of the charm of a train station waiting hall. - We will test outside again in the summer.

Good, quick, decent price-performance ratio. Unfortunately there is no charging station for electric cars. Otherwise we would always have our stomachs full at a car shop.

I've eaten there several times. Service, service and food were always great. There is also a shop with baked goods, meat products, honey, drinks, and much more. There are enough parking spaces and there are a few animals that are interesting for children. The view over the A8 motorway and the distance is beautiful. I'd love to come back.

Great food considering it's very big. The wood-fired takeaway bread there is also incredibly good. The sausages etc were also very tasty. Boss and junior boss always assign guests in the store and personally and always try to find a place. The success is absolutely justified! Update: Consistently top for years!!

I went to the German house for the course and I was thrilled. The staff, the rooms, the food are all full 5 stars. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star from the location because the immediate proximity to Autobahn 8 bothered me a bit. The background noise is very dominant, especially in the evening. However, this is my personal perception and does not diminish the rest of the house. In 3 years I will probably be there again for a refresher course. If I get a room that is not on the side of the motorway, it will most likely be a successful stay. Dear team from Deutsches Haus Weilheim, keep it up, you're great! 😊

We were only there for lunch. The food came very quickly and as always, very tasty, large portions. There were also delicious looking cakes and cakes to go with the coffee. Home-baked bread (spelled and wheat), yeast plaits, sausage specialties, beer, smoked food and so on can also be bought there, all very tasty. Staff very friendly, one employee was in a good mood and sang most of the time. We thought it was great 👍. The view if you have a seat facing the highway/valley is also wonderful. A dream on the terrace in summer, but you can also sit outside in the front, everything is beautifully arranged. Keep it up

My Jägerschnitzel with spaetzle was excellent. There's nothing to complain about. Delicious. The beef fillet was ordered "medium well", but turned out to be "rare" and unfortunately not available to enjoy. The service was super nice and wanted to buy us an espresso, cappuccino or a schnapps 🙏🏼 The €40 for the meat that was left behind still had to be paid, logically so. Unfortunately we got the seat at the entrance/exit, but it was a bit cold there because the door kept opening and closing. But otherwise there's nothing to complain about. Super nice ambience, nice staff, delicious Jägerschnitzel and great portions. 👍🏼

Very good food from our own butcher shop. Game meat from our own hunt. The service is great. Definitely reserve in advance. Especially on weekends. Takeaway also available. Great view. Lots of parking spaces.

The German House is always worth a visit. Food is excellent and of good quality. The service is also top. Have been there many times and have never been disappointed.

Absolutely worth coming here. There are wonderful hiking routes around the German house, both shorter and longer, and also a great view directly in front of the restaurant. The service is super accommodating and quick, the food is impeccably good and the products that you can buy on site (bread, smoked sausages, canned meat/dishes, pickles and jams, pasta, juices, etc.) are also top-priced and high-quality anyway. I really enjoy coming here and can only recommend it.

We were only there to eat. Good home-style Swabian cuisine at fair prices. As a starter we had a pancake soup, the broth was strong and the surface area was just right. Lentils with spaetzle with strings were excellent. The roast pork Jäger style was very tender, the meat could be separated with a fork. Mushroom sauce tasted very good. There were also spaetzle and croquettes, which were also very good. The side salad also had a bit of everything on the plate. The potato salad was served on an extra platelet. The waiting time for the food was pleasantly short.bI give 5 stars for the food. The service was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately we sat in a corner where we could easily be forgotten. The restaurant was very busy and you should call ahead.

This year we had our Christmas party again in the German House and there were 95 people there. All of our wishes were taken into account. The organization is optimal. The food was fantastic, as was the service. Price performance very good. An unforgettable stay. We'll definitely be back.

Since we live nearby, we haven't been in the rooms yet. So I can't give any stars here but......everything else is an absolute blast 🤩. We often go out for dinner on Sundays around 1:30 p.m. Always get a table, a friendly/funny waiter...the girls are great too...and fantastic food.

On our first visit the food was very good. I would like to highlight the side dish and potato salad. Schnitzel, spaetzle and sauce were delicious. Now we were there for the second time. Käsespätzle only tastes like an extreme cheese, onions are fried and not melted. I wouldn't order again. Maultaschen were more like sausage meat wrapped in dough. In my opinion this has nothing to do with Maultaschen at all. We bought bread to take home that was extremely salty. The service is very courteous and friendly. The waiting time is entertaining.

This used to be our favorite restaurant, but unfortunately recently the prices have risen sharply while the quality has declined. On our last visit on December 1st, 2024, we ordered roast beef with pepper cream sauce and a Bavarian duck, along with two drinks, and paid around €75 for it. The last three visits were rather disappointing, so we will no longer visit the German House.

We were there on Saturday evening with a group of 14 people (birthday)...The service was excellent...very attentive, always nearby, super friendly...The food came at the same time (!!)...large portion , very tasty...what I think is great is that the side dishes come extra and you can order them at any time...The dessert was also very tasty! The highlight is the dessert plate for the birthday child with a sparkler!! Otherwise, the ambience is rustic, with nice eye-catchers... There is a small farm shop integrated into the restaurant where you can buy homemade bread, sausage and jam, etc.

Great hotel in a charming location, very good Swabian cuisine, friendly staff, nice spacious rooms and good organization.

Praise and criticism. Sumptuous good food, friendly service, wishes are fulfilled as far as possible. Overall, salads have a bit too much vinegar. But there are also great salads that taste natural, such as radish salad and carrot salad. Delicious. In my opinion, potato salad should be without flavor enhancers if it is homemade. The range of pork alternatives is poor. Beef steak was too risky for us because we didn't know the restaurant yet, so my husband only had venison goulash to choose from. This was good, but also had a flavor enhancer in the seasoning. The restaurant was very busy and also loud. Our corner made up of chairs and tables in the middle of the restaurant was not suitable for conversation. It is better to choose a seating area on the edge or in a niche. What can be done better? 1. When you come to visit for the first time and ask about a place to wash your hands, the answer from a very young, surprised lady should not be: "in the toilet" but she should remain just as polite and show where the toilet is. 2. The food came in several courses, which unnecessarily lengthened the time spent there. One soup came first, everyone else had to wait. Then there were starter salads, everyone else had to wait. Then there was another 45 minute break before the main course came. We were almost the first guests to arrive and almost the last to leave. Due to the long journey, this was inconvenient for us and not obvious. 3. Avoiding flavor enhancers such as glutamate, yeast extract and the like would be nice. 4. If I ask for an invoice, I expect it to include VAT and not a preliminary receipt that says “no invoice”. Unfortunately I only saw it at home.

Our first visit to this house was very impressive! The waitress was very friendly and always had a smile on her face, even though it was busy! One of the best German cuisines! Unfortunately, this statement is no longer true when we went out to eat today. Unfortunately there hasn't been any improvement over the last few times... Ordered a cordon bleu, my daughter ordered a children's schnitzel, the children's schnitzel was marginally smaller than the cordon bleu, but my meal cost more than twice as much... both breadings were fried in the pan for too long (very brownish and not golden yellow) and on Meat itself tasted the same... Sorry! If you at least bring the taste of your kitchen back to that of 2 - 3 years ago, then I'll be happy to pay the price! But unfortunately without me...

The service and food were outstanding! And the prices are unbeatable. I haven't been able to visit such a first-class restaurant with such more than humane prices for many years. Geheimtipp: Kartoffelsalat! Essen sehr reichhaltig und lecker. Auch Mittagszeit sehr gut ausgebucht. Schwäbische Hausmannskost sehr zu empfehlen. Kleiner Laden mit regionalen Speisen vorhanden.

Last Saturday we were able to hold our second big family reunion in the German house. The reservation went smoothly, the food (à la carte!) and the service were great and the guests staying overnight were enthusiastic about the breakfast buffet. Many thanks to everyone, especially the friendly and attentive young lady who was concerned about our well-being all day and Mr. Riexinger for his uncomplicated way of organizing everything. We'll be back next year!

We recently had dinner with a group of 11 people. Price/performance was very decent, great food. We all received our meals at the same time, although almost everyone ordered something different. The food came quite quickly, attentive and very friendly service. We'll be back. All 11 raved about this wonderful final meal of our trip.

Unfortunately our room still has carpet in the basement. Very noisy. From above. Barely audible on the highway when the window is closed. Early in the morning there was a van almost in front of our room. No more sleep possible. Unfortunately, I sleep at night with many interruptions. Always catching mosquitoes. Despite the window. At reception in the morning they dismissed it as being known. You pass it on. The service in the restaurant was very friendly despite the very, very full tables. The food was very tasty, but due to the large number of people, it wasn't enough to spend a cozy evening for two. The Cordon Bleu on my plate. As I said, delicious. But it was very thin. There were two on all the other plates. Which were also thicker. The waitress said how it happened. When it comes to Jägrschnitzel, it would be good to note that it is without breading.

Well-run restaurant in a prime location. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Friendly staff. The inn is quite large, but very busy at lunchtime and evening. Reservations are advisable, but you can often get a table that way. The inn also has a small farm shop and its own butcher's shop. The quality of the dishes is really very good. It tastes great, the portions are generous and the price-performance ratio is really good. Swabian cuisine at its best. The restaurant is barrier-free, as are the toilets.

Guests who came after us got food before us. My 6 year old son got his food half an hour after me. Hardly an apology. Food was good.

Unfortunately the main course was a total failure. The rump steak tasted like a minced steak, the sauce was much too thick. (finished product). Side dish potatoes in the German house means croquettes. The salad should be highlighted positively. This was very tasty. For a price tag of over €30, the price/performance level is utopian. Too bad...

The ambience is incredibly beautiful. But the food is simply amazing... homemade with love and in abundance. The salad was tasty and plenty and the main course was fresh and worth every cent. But the apple fritters for dessert were the highlight. Palate orgasm deluxe

We were in the beer garden of the German House for the first time. The ambience is magical. The drinks are sophisticated, the non-alcoholic beer is a rosy temptation. Yes, it tastes like rose petals, almost like an Ipa. The salad plate was rich and tasty, only when I think of plucked chicken I imagine shredded meat and not fried breast meat. Price performance is ok. By the way, the beer garden is self-service.

Great location! We found the German House by chance, or rather with the help of Google. We were passing through and were looking for somewhere good to eat near the motorway (A8). There is a great restaurant, a beautiful beer garden and delicious food. What I would particularly like to emphasize is the friendliness of everyone, the boss and employees were very accommodating and warmly friendly. You just felt welcome. To make matters worse, we were even allowed to spend the night in our motorhome in the restaurant parking lot. Thank you!!!

Wenn ich ehrlich bin, finde ich den Namen nicht besonders attraktiv, aber das Lokal, das Personal, die Speisen sind absolut attraktiv!!! Es liegt wunderbar ländlich und hat sehr schöne Außen- und Innenbereiche. Das Personal ist unglaublich präsent, höflich, aufmerksam und schnell. Und die Speisen sind schwäbisch und ausgesprochen lecker. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich ohne übertrieben reichhaltig zu sein - ich bin bei zu viel Angebot immer etwa skeptisch - das ist hier absolut nicht der Fall. Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet und schmecken ganz wunderbar. Es gab sogar einen "Gruß" aus der Küche, nämlich einen kleinen Teller frischen schwäbischen Kartoffelsalat. Ich fand die Portionen sehr groß, aber ich bin kein gängiger Maßstab - konnte aber das "Zuviel" mitnehmen. Also auch dafür wird gesorgt. Wenn wir in der Gegend sein werden, werde ich mich gerne an den Landgasthof "Deutsches Haus" erinnern. Im Eingangsbereich gibt es auch einen Verkaufsstand mit frischen Wurstwaren der Metzgerei. Auch diese Speisen sind ausgezeichnet.

A restaurant with a nice menu with lots of specialties. The setting is magnificent, all in wood and typical of the Alps. We ate more than too well. I recommend the Käse Spätzle!
