It couldn't be worse. The atmosphere was unpleasant, as the staff behind the counter were loudly discussing personal matters (newly acquired parrots, macaws! Wherever they got them from, I have no idea. They should really stay away from them). The bread was two days old, the portions were far too large, and an extra sauce we ordered was served in a soup tureen that could have fed ten people. We used to enjoy coming here. The server just placed the food there without any care, clearly unmotivated. It's a shame things have deteriorated so much. The fries and calamari were old and bland, like something from the worst chip shop. We'll never eat there again!

We've been coming here for years, not regularly, but every now and then we make the long trip. We always start with pepperoni and tzatziki, followed by a children's portion. This time, we were told there were no more children's portions for adults. I said that with the starter, we wouldn't be able to eat a main course. So we ordered two main courses and pepperoni and tzatziki. We were then told that was quite a generous portion. We said we were only ordering this once, as we wouldn't be coming back. Shortly after, she came back and said the cook wasn't cooking for us. Since we didn't want to come back, he wouldn't cook for us. At the exit, we were rudely intercepted by the cook, who wouldn't let us finish a sentence. He claimed we wouldn't work for two euros an hour. He said quality has its price and his food is the best FOOD. We told him we just didn't want to waste anything, and with the pepperoni, it was simply too much. He was very rude, and when we told him, "Well, this is going to be a review," he said, "Doesn't matter. 100 good reviews, one bad one from us, he doesn't care. They'll never see us again." The reviews here and the empty restaurant explain a lot, because the place used to be packed.

On Sunday, we went to the Greek restaurant in Tostedt for the first time in a while. The quality of the food and service had declined considerably. Only the quantity was still adequate. However, I prefer quality to quantity. So, for now, that was the last time.

Good food, perfectly cooked meat dishes. Good service. Good value for money.

Best gyros ever! I've had gyros at many Greek restaurants, but this was the best. The meat is usually dry, not here. The portions are usually quite large, too. I was the only one at the table who finished my portion. Most people also took doggy bags. The service was very friendly. And even though it was quite busy, we didn't have to wait long.

We were always impressed. The food was delicious. But packing the leftover food yourself...? Rudely placed cardboard boxes on the food and were told to do it... When I asked the waitress about it: The return only came, it's like that. What horrible, bad service. Hence a 5-! Very disappointing. Based on that, actually 0 stars out of 5.

We ordered from outside with the request to be delivered at 7 p.m. It was ready on time and the food was great. The staff were very friendly and would be happy to come again. 👍😁👍👍

A lunch menu is advertised prominently on the website and in the display case. An "Open" sign hangs in the window facing the main street. We're happy to hear it, go in, and are rudely informed: "Kitchen doesn't open until 4 p.m." After previous disappointing experiences, we wanted to give this place another chance after several years of inactivity. We've been going to the Greek restaurant in Tostedt for years and have always been satisfied. It was top-notch. For us, it was the best Greek restaurant. The manager always had a smile on her face and we felt at home. Today we were there again... what can I say? What happened? We didn't like it that much. The food wasn't as usual. The omelet was too dark, the fries looked like they'd been fried a second time. The gyro was very bland in taste. The tzatziki tasted different than usual... Half tomatoes on the side salad Like pickles 🤔 mmm, was it an exception? No question about whether you had any other requests, which is what you were always asked. The waiter with torn trousers mmm No ouzo at the end. Well, a bit of a disappointment, a shame... Is the manager no longer there? Is it only the son who runs it? Well, we hope not. Sorry, but that has nothing to do with the Greek restaurant you know. Sorry, but for us personally, it was one of the best Greek restaurants around. Hope it was an exception. And the boss comes back.

For our vacation in the Lüneburg Heath. We now understand why our vacation apartment in Undeloh recommended eating here! The portions are huge and delicious, it's super comfortable, and the staff are incredibly friendly. If we vacation nearby again, we'll definitely eat here again. ❤️

I've been there twice. The first time on the recommendation of work colleagues. The second time with my wife, who's always a bit more critical than I am. The food was good both times and very plentiful. It was so good that we had the leftovers packed up. The restaurant is a family business, and the owner also serves and is always ready for a quick chat when time permits. We like to come when we're in the area. The prices for the huge portions are more than reasonable.

We were there for the umpteenth time today. Always satisfied so far. Today, however, it was very close to disaster. Pork was sold as lamb fillet, empty glasses were ignored (approx. 30-40 minutes). We asked twice if we could get tzatziki and drinks, and neither time did anyone come. The food was mediocre. The kids' pasta dish is spicy and therefore not suitable for children. Yes, it was very busy today, but that's no excuse if you have decent prices but don't provide the service to match.

The food was generally good. Unfortunately, the salad seemed very poorly prepared, and the Metaxa sauce was quite runny. What was odd was that the tzatziki was on the salad plate. However, we were given something new for our meal upon request.

Honestly, it's not super busy, you get cold food, you mention it directly, the new, super-friendly employee apologizes and passes it on immediately, and lets you know someone will be there to clarify the matter. Well, no one came. The end result: cold food. At least there was about a 20% discount. We were there last time.

Here we enjoyed a very warm welcome, a delicious meal and simply relaxing on the spacious covered terrace. No photos taken, but imagine your plate filled with countless colors and smells. Because we are vegetable lovers, we ordered an extra salad which in retrospect was not really necessary, because a delicious salad with bread was served beforehand. Highly recommended!

Habe am Freitag mir die Nmmer 69 bestellt und abgeholt,ca 15 Minuten echt schnell.Essen war heiß,Gyros war lecker,,die Rinderleber schmeckte sehr säuerlich vorsichtshalber liegen gelassen. Die Hacksteaks leider ohne Gewürze.Die Portion war riesig,kann gerne kleiner sein,aber mit mehr Geschmack.Der Salat war ok,Tzaiziki hätte mehr sein können, aber lecker.Schade,waren so oft dort essen,und es war immer gut.

Disastrous service – not even worth one star! We were there on March 22nd. The three of us at the restaurant “Der Grieche” in Tostedt and have rarely experienced such poor service. The store was busy, but that can't be an excuse for the staff being completely overwhelmed. Far too few waiters, an inexperienced operator and a waitress who obviously couldn't handle the situation. Taking the order took forever. Our first starter was only brought along with one of the main courses after several requests - but the other two main courses were completely missing! The rice was cold, the second starter arrived at some point while the rest of the main courses still weren't there. Something like that doesn't work - there were three of us at the table, but no one got their food at the same time! When I complained and wanted to speak to the manager, all he said was: “You don’t have to pay, you can just leave.” We did that too. I have rarely experienced such a disrespectful way of dealing with paying guests. Definitely not recommended – an absolute failure! Not worth a star

We've eaten there again for a while, but unfortunately nothing has improved. The meat was dry and tasted like burnt grill, the rice was unseasoned. Portions are far too large, price/performance doesn't match. That was the last time for us again... What a shame ☹️ Oh yeah, it wasn't crowded at the time, so no stress.

We were there on 03/10/25! The salad was loveless, only after ordering was it said that there was no lamb, the meat was not tasty. You go to the Greek because of the feeling and the atmosphere. There wasn't even an Uzo before or after. When asked, it was just said! The boss got rid of it 🤷‍♀️

Excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service. The portions are more than large enough, I can recommend sharing a starter. If there is too much, the leftovers are quickly packed up.

Preise sind OK, Essen ist OK, kleiner Salat vorweg war eher traurig, Ambiente und Mobiliar eher alt. Bei Gyros und Bifteki war kein Tzaziki dabei. Mini Portion extra hat Eur 4,50 gekostet.

Despite having a reservation, we were initially sent back and forth because no one knew which table was ours. You get a salad as a starter with a tiny dollop of tzatziki on it, which (it was only explained to us when we asked) should be enough for the main course. Then meat was forgotten on my plate (namely the best piece, the lamb). After our food came, we were exhausted and no one came to bring us drinks again. As always, the portions were generous so we were able to pack our own food to take away. Nobody came to pay. In other words, we went to the front so that we could treat ourselves to an ouzo (which is usual) which we then had to pay for ourselves. So conclusion. Food was very tasty but the service wasn't really good that evening. They didn't even manage to clear the tables when guests left. Just stood there looking dingy. Very unfortunate. And now to fire a stupid comment as an "owner" like with other bad reviews is just sad and that's it for me too. Then I'd rather take my well-earned money to another Greek.

By far the worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. From salad to main course. On top of that, there is a waiting time of 1.5 hours and then the information that my order had been "misunderstood". It's really a mystery to me how the store can be so full, considering that despite all of this, you have to pay per person You have to plan at least €20.

Das Fleisch war viel zu groß geschnitten, der Salat nicht gewürzt, Tsatziki ohne Geschmack, der Reis, den ich auch nicht bestellt hatte, war sehr pfeffrig. Die Pommes sehr salzig. Vor 1 Jahr war das Essen super und lecker, auf weißem Teller, nett serviert. Heute wurde ich gefragt, wie es geschmeckt hat und ich habe ehrlich geantwortet, worauf der Inhaber am Nebentisch laut sagte, ich könne ja mein Essen selber zu Hause machen, dann schmeckt es vielleicht. So kann man Gäste vergraulen. Ich erwartete keine Vergütung aber ein freundliches Wort des Inhabers. Ich werde nicht weiterempfehlen und auch nicht mehr hier essen. Die Bedienung ist ausgesprochen freundlich, wie die Jahre vorher her. Beim Verlassen wurden wir nicht vom sitzenden Inhaber verabschiedet. Ich empfand seine Aussage, die er getätigt hatte als ausgesprochen frech und kundenunfreundlich.

The atmosphere is always good and it doesn't take long for the food to arrive. You can always hear calm Greek music in the background, which brightens up the atmosphere. The restaurant is a highlight of the city and we visit it again and again. The prices are reasonable and fair for the large portions. The restaurant deserves a full 5 stars!!!

And the best thing: the friendly waitress came by again in all seriousness and asked if we wanted a second helping of gyros. I could only laugh. And was amazed. And she meant it. I say AWESOME three times. There was still room for dessert: Greek yogurt with walnuts and honey. Also highly recommended!

Very hearty Greek dishes. Great selection on the menu. Be careful with the portion size. The beans and cheese croquettes in the photo are supposed to be an appetizer 😄 You will definitely be full. By the way, the cheese croquettes are to die for! The grill plate was solid. All in all, recommended.

I would like more quality rather than quantity when it comes to food and the prices would then be appropriate. It's a shame, we used to enjoy eating there.

In the side salad there was a quarter-sized tomato in one piece, not cut into bite-sized pieces. There are canned vegetables in the rice and canned mushrooms in the other dishes... unfortunately the quality and taste falls by the wayside. There is still a lot of room for improvement. You shouldn't skimp on fresh ingredients!! Unfortunately, I don't really understand the other reviews regarding the taste and quality. We have now tested it once and definitely not again... on a Sunday afternoon the shop was almost empty... when I look at the other restaurants in the area, the place is on fire!!! In the future we will prefer other locations again!

We have been regular customers for over 20 years and still know the restaurant from Heidenau. Now the son has taken over the restaurant. Unfortunately, the warmth and customer orientation has been lost. The food is still good. But you don't have to allow yourself to be insulted and treated condescendingly. And then tips are REQUIRED! It's a shame when your parents' life's work is thrown to the wall like that.

The fries are fried to death. Still water is served on the table in a disposable plastic bottle. Origin not traceable. If you want to order something else, you have to forcefully get the staff's attention, even though there were only a few guests present. After we waited about 15 minutes for our ordered drinks, the pasta straw had already started to soften. The tzatziki is amazing! Nevertheless, not in this form again 🤷‍♀️

Wir sind schon seit über 25 Jahren Stammkunden und kennen den Griechen schon aus der Zeit als er noch in Heidenau war. Nun hat der Sohn das Restaurant übernommen und damit geht die Herzlichkeit und der gastfreundliche Service verloren. Leider jetzt nicht das erste Mal passiert. Das Essen ist nach wie vor gut und reichlich. Doch der Umgang mit Gästen ist arrogant und herablassend. Schade, dass das Lebenswerk der Eltern so an die Wand gefahren wird.
