After being enthusiastic about the food on other evening visits, we went there for breakfast today and were sadly disappointed. A very limited buffet, run-of-the-mill dishes, thin scrambled eggs, no alternative to dairy milk, and vegans wouldn't have had any choice at all. I don't need to eat out for that. It's a shame, considering the great location.

Overworked staff, sometimes not very well-groomed. Food: The vegetarian schnitzel made with zucchini and eggplant was 95% breading and 5% some barely recognizable vegetables. It's a shame that the fried potatoes were also mushy.

My husband and I were there for breakfast today! The reception was very friendly and accommodating, and we sat on the beautiful terrace in the gorgeous weather! Even when we were besieged by wasps, the nice lady immediately came with smoky coffee powder, which she placed on the table next to us (again, she very kindly asked if the smell bothered us). The buffet left nothing to be desired; whether savory or sweet, there was something for everyone! Various juices and water were also included in the price; we only had to pay extra for the coffee! All in all, it was a lovely morning, with very attentive staff in a wonderful atmosphere!

Light and shadow lie close together. We were there on Saturday with 10 people. Unfortunately, I was one of three who were late. The ambiance is cozy and appealing. The service still has a lot of room for improvement ↗️ It took a long time to get my drink order. Since I also wanted something to eat, I tried to combine it with my drinks order, but it didn't work. A little later, a nice lady came and took my food order. After more than 30 minutes, I politely asked how long it would take for the food to arrive. I was told that if I hadn't been late, I would have had my food by now. Excuse me!!! Sorry, that's not acceptable. As we later found out, it was new staff and they apologized. Nevertheless, that shouldn't happen in service. Big compliments to the lady who did our checkout; she was excellent.

There were eight of us and we had a reservation. Initially, we had to wait 30 minutes for drinks, one of which was out, and another 20 minutes for the alternative. After an hour, we received our appetizers. All cold dishes. The beef tartare was tasteless and visually very questionable. 40 minutes later, the main course came. All without cutlery, which we only received upon request! Tasteless again. The schnitzel was missing the horseradish, which, of course, makes a big difference. The baked potatoes were overcooked and burnt. The service was very poor, with the exception of one gentleman. Why would anyone leave the table empty-handed when the whole table is full of empty glasses or plates? Great view and location, but the kitchen and service desperately need some improvement. A real shame.

A beautifully situated restaurant with a fantastic view and good food. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed on our last visit. Around 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday, the business was sluggish. We had booked our table online and were allowed to sit outside upon request. We were seated directly in view of the counter, and the waiter walked in and out several times. Unfortunately, she ignored us. After half an hour, we were finally able to order—and only after asking, because I actively approached her. All I got back was a tired, annoyed "yes." We skipped ordering menus due to time constraints, as we had already checked the menu on the website. The food was quite good, too. The plates were cleared fairly quickly, but it was a different server (management?). We also immediately noted that we would like to pay. After waiting 15 minutes, we went to the counter ourselves, where a waiter was already standing, who then left. At the manager's request(?), he came to collect the money, which apparently overwhelmed him with cash... We experienced similar situations that evening with other guests who could only order upon request. Conclusion: The food and location have potential, but the service leaves a lot to be desired, and the bill could have been significantly higher that evening.

We were invited to a family celebration with about 50 people. The party began with lunch. The hosts ordered an appetizer, a main course, and dessert. All the dishes were to be distributed among the tables. All the appetizer dishes arrived promptly, and they were delicious. Unfortunately, we had to wait about an hour for the main course to be served. The side dishes came first. Since everyone was hungry, they tucked in. Then came the meat. The side dishes were already cold. We used our cutlery to serve dessert from the individual bowls. The cutlery for serving dessert was provided far too late. The tables were only cleared after we requested it. However, not completely; most of the dishes remained on the tables. Drink orders were not taken at all. Our group had to get their own drinks at the bar, while the day guests were served immediately. Dessert was served around 5:00 p.m. However, we would have had to eat the cake out of our hands if our hosts hadn't provided the plates themselves. Coffee wasn't served, so we had to get it ourselves. The waiters walked around as if all the drinks were available and cleared the tables completely. I've never experienced such poor service to this day. It's a shame for our hosts, who once again put a lot of effort into preparing for this day. Not to mention the money they invested in our hospitality. We cannot recommend the restaurant.

The service is good. The setting is pleasant, with a great view. But this is my second time there, and again certain foods are missing. Unfortunately, it's a bit too expensive, and the selection isn't good enough due to the aforementioned missing foods. But a third try will bring certainty. No! The schnitzel was way too expensive and came from a pre-packaged product. The Sauerland specialty, Potthucke, was sold out (which is why we were there 😥), and the baked potato was lukewarm and had only a little sour cream. The prices were steep, though!

We were there for the first time on Wednesday (at almost 40°C) and it was absolutely fantastic! The restaurant has a lovely, cozy atmosphere, and the view over Attendorn is truly something special. Our server, Beate, was absolutely amazing! So warm and attentive. She really took care of everything and was super friendly. You immediately feel like you're welcome. For dinner, we opted for the small Caesar salad, the Potthucke (pot-frying pancake), and the beef tartare. We highly recommend all three dishes! For me personally, I had the Potthucke (pot-frying pancake), and it was a real highlight. My late grandmother couldn't have cooked it better. You can simply taste that good ingredients are used here. The prices are also completely reasonable for what you get. It's not the cheapest place, but definitely recommended. The value for money is excellent here. We'll definitely be back! It's best when Beate is back 😄 I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and friendly service!

We had lunch at "Der Gast" today. Making a reservation online was very easy. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to a table, although we had to ask for a table wipe because it had crumbs from the previous diners on it. Our order was taken quickly, and we didn't have to wait too long for the food. My husband's burger was delicious; the fries could have been a bit crispier and less salty. My Caesar salad was delicious, and the large portion was plenty filling. The two waitresses were very friendly and attentive; I'd even give them both 5 stars.

Rarely have I eaten as badly as at "der Gast..." Simply disappointing. Two of four dishes were unavailable. The rump steak that was ordered (medium) came cooked through. The jacket potato was lukewarm. The dish was criticized, the server said it might be medium in the middle and asked for it to be cut in the middle...but it wasn't. For the new dish, there were no jacket potatoes available, and instead they brought fried potatoes that consisted of soft, ready-made potatoes swimming in fat. The substitute steak was tough and riddled with tendons. The schnitzel ordered by another person was paper-thin and very heavily breaded. Unfortunately, not recommended as a meal. Given the atmosphere and view, it might be enough for a drink.

The breakfast itself, however, seems too expensive at around €20 per person without coffee! For example, there was only one type of cheese, a very limited selection of cold cuts, no fish, and no pre-baked rolls. We always love coming here. Last week it was so incredibly busy. There was no room left. The service really went above and beyond to keep the guests happy. I've never waited 1.5 hours for a burger in my life. Sorry, but that's not possible. Even if there's an event in the town hall next door. That could definitely be better organized. And the kitchen could be better stocked. The service was really good. The food was okay. I don't know if I'd come back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at der Gast and it was truly a great experience. The ambience is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The food was freshly prepared and tasted excellent. I was particularly impressed by the Attendorner Krüstchen – perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, so you were really full. A small suggestion for improvement might be the music volume, which could be turned down a bit for my taste to make the conversation even more pleasant. Overall, it was a very successful evening and I can definitely recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back!

We were there on Easter Monday with four adults and four children. It is a very nicely decorated restaurant. Everyone was very, very friendly, the service was great and the food was delicious. When the weather is nice it's definitely great on the terrace. A clear recommendation from us.

We stopped by in the afternoon and had a wonderful spot on the terrace. The operator was very nice. We received the coffee we ordered very quickly. The waffles with powdered sugar that we ordered only came after the coffee had been drunk. Additionally, the waffles were cold, thin and had no taste. For the price we expected something better. Too bad!

We were there with our son, 2 years old. The waitress was very attentive and the child was completely looked after, little fruit face and "busy", generally very polite, friendly and warm. For dessert the child had a little bit of chocolate, after asking if he was allowed. The food was very good: modernly prepared, meat on point and no uniform taste. We had soup, Asian tartare, chicken burger and normal burger, as well as homemade chicken nuggets with fries for the son. No complaints, just a very positive surprise. Only after 20 minutes were we asked for drinks, which came relatively promptly and we ordered the main course. Unfortunately, some dishes could no longer be ordered on Saturday at 7 p.m.!! Then we had to wait a little over an hour for a baked potato and a salad, although the shop really wasn't full. Guests who came after us even received their food before us. The taste of the food was a disaster, the potato was mushy and cold. I didn't like the salad and it was a bit sparse. Lettuce leaves with a little sauce (very economical), grated cheese and some bread. You could also have added tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, onions, radishes... in there. Unfortunately there was no real apology for the bad food and there was unfortunately no discount. So we definitely won't come back again.

I was at the restaurant today and am very disappointed. It started with Cola zero being served instead of Cola. This wasn't a big deal and we accepted the drink. Then instead of vegetarian curry came the one with chicken. This too could happen, but it shouldn't. The other two meals came about half an hour later, and that wasn't the worst for me either. But when I found a hair in my food, it was finally enough, that can happen too, but the response to my complaint left a lot to be desired. I was told that they couldn't explain it and that they might want to do something about the price. The end of the song was, I wasn't full, no one apologized or offered another meal. When it came to paying, we were told that we couldn't do anything about the price of the food because it would be charged to the cellar, and we could only be forgiven for the 3 colas. 22 euros for a pork loin that I couldn't finish is really disappointing. Sorry, but something like that doesn't work.

A really disappointing visit. We ordered at 7pm, the starter came after 30 minutes, which was still fine. But then we had to wait almost two hours for the main course - completely unacceptable! When the food finally came, my fries were cold and the €22 burger was absolutely not worth the price. No information about the long wait, no apology - and for that price I would have at least expected hot food. Even with a full house, something like this shouldn't happen. Unfortunately not recommended!

We were there on a Saturday evening and the place was full. We waited 2 hours for the food, as did all the tables around us. We reserved the table at 7:15 p.m. and ate at 9:15 p.m. The food was ok (apart from the fried avocado which was almost frozen inside) but not the waiting time. The noise level is enormous. For us the last time in the guest.

We were there for the first time this afternoon. We ordered the beef tartare as a starter and the pork fillet as the main course. Both were freshly made and nicely presented. The portions were more than sufficient and really tasty! The dressing on the side salad was refreshingly fruity. The lady in service was attentive but not intrusive. The view, especially when you sit at the window, has a holiday feeling.

The view is wonderful, breakfast for me too little choice of sausage and cheese, perhaps better quality would be desirable, and last time coffee was available in pots, now only upon special order. Ambience very nice.

Update: Probably due to the lack of staff, they can no longer really get the service under control. My initial enthusiasm is currently limited. I can fully recommend this restaurant. We really enjoyed the great atmosphere, friendly and dedicated service and, last but not least, delicious food. The terrace, which is still under construction, should be a highlight.

Unfortunately it was a total failure - we simply didn't get any food! Reserved a table, ordered food after 15 minutes and then left after another 2 hours 15 minutes because nothing came, no starter (Buratina - put it on the plate, put some decoration on it, done???) no main course, nothing... At least we got a few slices of dry bread after we asked for it - that's a given in restaurants in this price range, and that people like to serve it with some butter or oil or a dip - I'll just ignore that for now! Interestingly, a couple who came at the same time as us got their food, as did a table with significantly more people who came quite a while after us... But we weren't the only ones who didn't get anything to eat...what a shame!

Disaster! We came here on the recommendation of a good friend. Quite a nice atmosphere, but nothing special and friendly staff. Unfortunately that's it for the positive points... Ordered drinks: sweet sparkling wine not available, medium water also not available... Then ordered food: starter and main courses. When drinks were emptied, the staff did not ask questions, but rather the guest had to take action. After 1 1/2 hours!!! Waiting for the food, we asked for at least a few slices of bread, which were actually served a short time later... Dry!! Complaints about the very long waiting time were dismissed with the comment that the kitchen knows about it! After waiting for over two hours without even a starter being served, we decided to leave the restaurant hungry. (So ​​do the guests at the next table!). My conclusion: I will not visit "the guest" again for the time being and will not recommend it to anyone else. The operators should also reconsider the naming!

The food came relatively quickly for us (approx. 30 minutes), but for the neighboring tables the time window was 1 hour + and for two friends who were there on the same evening, there was still no food on the table after 2 hours. After 2:30 hours the two drove to the next kebab shop. Mayo and herb butter were forgotten, but were quickly added when asked. As I was eating I noticed that the side salad was missing. After two requests, the salad came after I had actually already finished eating. While waiting to pay (30 minutes +), it was easy to see how the only three young waiters/waitresses couldn't really keep up because the shop was far too full for that. The three of them gave it their all, but under the pressure some small mistakes happened, including orders being brought to the wrong tables several times. The food was tasty, but the portions were not worth the price. Then the hunger really starts. That was probably the last visit.

I now feel like I've been a guest at every possible time of day: from breakfast during the week to lunch, a coffee in the afternoon or dinner - and even just for a drink. Great ambience, beautiful view over Attendorn and I always feel comfortable.

We had reserved a table for 5 p.m. because we were attending an event at the town hall after dinner. Things started off great, but then chaos ensued. Food was forgotten, and side dishes like salad and fries arrived when we were finished with the meat. Instead of baked potatoes, we were served fries because they were out of potatoes. The restaurant was full because of the event, but the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. What came to our table was delicious, but we couldn't eat together because not everything was ready in time or was handed over to another table. The service staff was very friendly but completely overwhelmed.

Half an hour later, it was now 6:30 p.m. I had to ask again when our food would arrive. It finally came 5 minutes later. All the dishes that were served were really tasty and beautifully presented. Next to the town hall there is a great restaurant with high-quality food at a moderate price. Service is very friendly and attentive with a boss who exudes a lot of calm when the workload is high and has an "overview hat" on.

A surprisingly good restaurant. Down-to-earth, solid food, but the service was fantastic! I haven't experienced such attentive service in a long time, someone who truly thinks of everything, sees everything, and always discreetly asks if everything is okay.

We ate here on Saturday with four people. The staff, once at the table, are very friendly; the young man is quite quiet and difficult to understand. That's the problem: at first we were shown to our table, but after that no one came by. After about 30 minutes we finally got our attention by waving wildly, so we could finally order. The drinks came pretty quickly. The food took about 30 minutes, which is fine. We enjoyed it, apart from the tarte flambée, which unfortunately arrived cold. It probably sat in the counter for a while before being brought out by the waiter. The ordered starter arrived together with the main course. After the meal, it felt like an eternity before someone came to clear the table. No one even came to ask if we wanted something to drink. We had the impression that the service was completely overwhelmed and disorganized, even though the restaurant wasn't full. That's a shame, as it completely ruins the good impression you get of the ambiance/view and food, etc. I know it's still very hard to find staff these days, but this is ruining your reputation. It's better to let fewer people in and provide good service instead. The terminology on the dessert menu is sometimes wildly confused; they list regular milk ice cream as sorbet, which is completely wrong and misleading - especially for people with allergies/intolerances. Unfortunately, there are a lot of negative points, so we won't be eating here again for a while.

Great food, very friendly service. We were there for our anniversary, but unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we were seated at the same table as another couple (both tables maybe 50 cm apart). This made it a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, the waitress was super nice, but unfortunately, she was assigned to the entire room alone. This led to longer wait times. Otherwise, the food was beautifully presented, plentiful, and very tasty. We'll be back, but hopefully at a different table.

The price-performance ratio for the Christmas Day brunch was terribly bad. The area where you could tap juices and water was constantly wet from the tapped drinks. Glasses were always missing there. The breakfast buffet was inadequately refreshed and restocked. Lunch, meat, vegetables and pasta was already cold at 1 p.m. and perhaps that's why it simply tasted bad. We usually had to clear away the dirty plates ourselves. For a price of 34.50 we would have expected much more.

I wouldn't even give a star for the food or service. We had reserved a table for 6 people. Less than a third of the tables were occupied, but it still took 40 minutes to get the drinks. The meal took almost an hour and a half, 4 times the schnitzel was gratinated, 1 time pork fillet with fried potatoes and salad, and another dish. Everything had to be seasoned, the pork fillet was unfortunately dry, it didn't taste good at all, the champion cream sauce tasted like everything but champions. The schnitzels were so flat and thin, they were more like breaded schnitzels. It also didn't taste good at all. Then you had to wait and wave for someone to come and order drinks - but there was no normal Jägermeister, no Jack Daniels or the cocktail Solero, even though everything was on the clear menu. What worked very well, however, were the staff's smoking breaks; we had all hoped for more, as the atmosphere was very promising. We definitely won't come back.

We ordered the crust and every bite was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality, and the presentation of the dishes was almost too beautiful to eat. We were particularly impressed by the homemade sauce. The portion sizes were also perfect – filling but not overwhelming. Value for money: The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality offered. You can tell that a lot of attention is paid to details and craftsmanship. It was worth every penny. Special moment: A special highlight was definitely the view of the city.

Very cozy, but we had to wait a long time for the food. The food was very tasty.

A great restaurant that is run with heart, is very lovingly furnished and has very, very courteous staff. Plus, the food tastes great! I've been there for brunch, coffee and dinner. A place where I really enjoy staying! Only recommended!!

Unfortunately we had to wait 2 hours for the food (it was full but 2 hours is outrageous) and then the "pepper sauce" for the schnitzel is so fatty and runny and more like balsamic dressing. The baked potatoes were extremely small and the Thai curry tasted like the original one from the cardboard boxes at the gas station. The service was great and the beer tasted good in a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately that didn't make up for the negative point of the food. It's a shame for the price level.

We were very satisfied and would like to come back

The atmosphere is really nice, the staff is friendly, but unfortunately the younger ones aren't quite up to speed yet. We still had a lot of bread left after dinner and we couldn't even look as quickly as the half-full dips were taken away from us. Even after a comment that we would have liked to keep the dips for the bread, there was no response. An attentive waitress wouldn't have cleared it away in the first place, asked for it or, in this case, put a new dip right there. About the meal itself: three of us ordered a Caesar salad with topping. The salad was actually just green lettuce with some grated cheese and croutons.. No tomato, no pepper.. Nothing colored! The toppings were almost a joke for an additional €6: half a small fried avocado or 4/5 fried mushrooms for €6 each! I had a goat cheese gratin with salad and fries. That was great!

Unfortunately I can't judge the food because after 1 hour and 40 minutes we still didn't get anything. When asked, they said there were so many Christmas parties with pre-ordered food. However, you could see cards lying on the table almost throughout the Atze Schröder restaurant! Actually we just wanted something to eat before the performance, but nothing came of it! Too bad

Very unfortunate. The store looks really nice but that’s it. We had reserved a table for 6 at 6 p.m. and were shown to the table and everything was fine there. It wasn't until 30 minutes later that we asked for drinks and appetizers, which came relatively quickly and we ordered the main course. However, we then had to wait a great 1.5 hours for the food, although we really didn't feel like we were in the shop. The food was so-so in terms of taste, I expected more from a €32 steak. We also had stomach problems very quickly, so we definitely won't be coming back again.

It was a great evening. The waitresses were very friendly and, above all, very child-friendly.

A wonderful place to eat and relax. Super attentive service and the lunch gets ten stars from me. Children are particularly welcome here. Recommendation 200% ;)

We went there for breakfast with the family and we all really enjoyed it! Service was super quick and very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very cozy.

It was a very good breakfast buffet. Something for everyone! The countries were thought of, there was an extra buffet table with a chocolate fountain. And Santa Claus was there. Highly recommended!

Very nice atmosphere.. nice view. You feel like you're at home. The younger staff don't have too much of a personal relationship with customers. The older lady was a charming, friendly service person. I would definitely like to visit the restaurant there again.

Nice atmosphere, the food was good, but the portions were a bit small. The service was courteous, although a bit slow. Since we were basically the only guests, that wasn't a problem, but if the restaurant was full that would certainly be a problem.

Good cuisine, great service and a fantastic panoramic view!

Yesterday I was there with my father. But there was nothing at all to complain about. My steak with vegetables and truffle fries was how I like it. Tender, juicy and medium. My father's pot chicken was great. The service was excellent. Friendly and super fast even though it was very busy. That was different. But that was due to too few staff. That can happen. But this time 5 stars plus.

We stopped here for dinner. The restaurant is modernly equipped. The food was basic. The fried potatoes were greasy, missing some salt. The schnitzel, clear. The pepper sauce didn't taste good. A bit sour, not really peppery.

Nice restaurant, which was beautifully decorated in the run-up to Christmas. You should reserve in advance because I think it is an insider tip for very good food.
