Der Biersepp in Aschaffenburg

Good food and a nice portion, but what was missing and what I unfortunately miss in many restaurants lately is a side salad.

Today was our first and last visit to Biersepp. Our "experience" began with an extremely unfriendly reception. Upon entering the restaurant, we were neither greeted nor given a friendly welcome, but were immediately asked if we had a reservation. Of course, we had, and the tone didn't change after that either. The elderly gentleman simply turned around and walked away without telling us where we should sit. After we stood there, somewhat taken aback, looking at each other questioningly, we were finally directed towards the vaulted area. Once there, the vaulted area itself seemed inviting, but there were far too many tables too close together. Furthermore, the tables hadn't been wiped down and were still dirty and sticky from previous guests. The food tasted okay, but there are definitely better alternatives in Aschaffenburg. The portions are an absolute joke for the prices. The cheese spaetzle portion consisted of just a handful of spaetzle and a salad, and that for €15. Strictly speaking, it was more of a side salad with some cheese spaetzle. Even a child wouldn't have been able to fill it up. But the highlight of the evening was paying. It says everywhere that card payments are accepted, so we didn't get any money beforehand. Unfortunately, that's not possible in the vaulted room. So we went upstairs to the dining room to pay. The first thing we were asked there was whether we had even tipped. This question alone is an absolute cheek, given the exorbitant prices, and then assuming we had to tip clearly shows what this unfriendly man at the bar is all about: money. I travel a lot, but sometimes you find the unfriendliest and most rude people right on your doorstep. It's better to take your money to hosts who are genuinely friendly and helpful!

Chicken is only available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and they give you plenty of vegetables. The schnitzel is delicious, but they give you plenty of French fries, so you can have two beers. It's like a neighborhood elders' love room, so they come one by one at lunchtime to have beer and rice and leave.

The staff is friendly and the food and beer are all delicious. I think the grilled chicken is a lunch menu item, and it was spicy and salty and went really well with the beer.

I dined at Der Biersepp in Aschaffenburg, opting for the ½ roasted chicken with fries and salad, accompanied by a Schlappeseppel Pils. The food was very good, with the chicken being crispy and juicy, and the portion size was huge, ensuring I left fully satisfied. The Schlappeseppel Pils complemented the meal perfectly, offering a refreshing balance to the hearty dish. The interior is very old but cozy, featuring rustic wooden decor that, while not particularly pretty, exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. However, being explicitly asked about the tip amount felt awkward, especially since this hadn't occurred in previous German cities I've visited, nor in subsequent restaurants in the area. On the positive side, the prices were fair, especially considering the generous portions and quality of the food.

Walking through the city we found this place. Delicious food. That day the duck was at 50% so we ate delicious and at a very decent price. The chocolate cake was delicious as in many places in Germany and Switzerland.

Hmmm... charging that much money for finished products is very steep. The roast pork with red cabbage and dumplings was disappointing. The meat is dry, the beer sauce is a finished product, heavily thickened, the bread dumplings are too salty and not cooked through. The pepper steak also with a ready-made sauce and fries, which were again not salted enough. Unfortunately, the service was only rudimentary. We had reserved a table and were still simply added to a group.

Typical Franconian inn... really rustic and simply furnished. The dishes were all leggäää 😋 Selection of food and drinks top 👍 Service friendly and quick We'll be back...

Well, came in, somewhat cluttered space. Bad layout. No hello, no please, no thank you. Service complete failure. Menu probably doesn't exist. The question of a small starter and a small meal cannot be answered. I'll leave it at two beers. 2x schappeseppel export costs €9.00 Not recommended.

Was on January 12th. There late afternoon! Service was good, ordering was quick. Local Brauhausstyle Rustic and originally authentic! Unfortunately the chicken / rubber eagle had a character that was worse than in the chip shop! Salads and side dishes were ok! Unfortunately it seems to be known for it.

Had a very good meal there, super friendly staff and would be happy to come back when we are in the corner.

Went to Biersepp for the first time today. First of all, a great ambience and really beautifully rustic furnishings. We really enjoyed the food and the prices were more than fair. The only point of criticism is the service, unfortunately the cutlery was forgotten at the beginning (not a bad thing) and there was no longer any knuckle, duck was offered as an alternative. Unfortunately we weren't told that this was half a duck, which was a bit too much for us. But that can happen sometimes and we will definitely come back! :)

The food was very good in terms of taste and quantity. Could have been a little warmer. Points deducted for table opposite entrance door with draft.

Absolute favorite pub in the center of Aschaffenburg's beautiful old town! When the golden edge of the tasty hops and the homely feel-good atmosphere kiss each other, then you know you're in a beer paradise. The pub is an absolute highlight, always worth a visit and of fantastic quality! The staff and the host couple are indescribably empathetic and incredibly nice. You just have to feel comfortable here! We'll definitely be back!

I'm a fan. Very, very tasty 😋 . The chicken was a dream, the knuckle was a poem, the beer was cold and delicious. Very attentive staff and cozy atmosphere.

With our youth soccer team and their parents, almost 50 people in total, we were able to spend a wonderful evening in the rustic vaulted cellar of the "Biersepp" - and we were completely thrilled! The organization in advance ran smoothly and extremely professionally. Theo and his team were very committed right from the start and always tried to take all of our wishes and requirements into account. The warm and friendly nature of the entire team gave us a good feeling right from the start. The vaulted cellar itself is a real highlight: rustic, cozy and full of charm – the perfect location for such a large group. The food was excellent, freshly prepared and everyone enjoyed it. The portions were also absolutely sufficient and there was something for everyone. Our players, parents and coaches were completely satisfied - it was an evening we will remember fondly. A big thank you to Theo and his team for the great hospitality! We'll definitely be happy to come back! **5 out of 5 stars – fully recommended!**

Mit unserer Fußball-Jugendmannschaft und deren Eltern, insgesamt fast 50 Personen, durften wir einen wunderbaren Abend im urigen Gewölbekeller des "Biersepp" verbringen – und wir waren rundum begeistert! Schon die Organisation im Vorfeld verlief reibungslos und äußerst professionell. Theo und sein Team waren von Anfang an sehr engagiert und haben sich stets bemüht, all unsere Wünsche und Anforderungen zu berücksichtigen. Die herzliche und freundliche Art des gesamten Teams hat uns von Anfang an ein gutes Gefühl gegeben. Der Gewölbekeller selbst ist ein echtes Highlight: rustikal, gemütlich und mit viel Charme – die perfekte Location für eine so große Gruppe. Das Essen war hervorragend, frisch zubereitet und hat allen super geschmeckt. Auch die Portionen waren absolut ausreichend, und es war für jeden etwas dabei. Unsere Spieler, Eltern und Trainer waren rundum zufrieden – es war ein Abend, an den wir uns gerne erinnern werden. Ein großes Dankeschön an Theo und sein Team für die tolle Gastfreundschaft! Der Gastraum war schon sehr gut besucht und zusätzlich noch eine größere Gesellschaft Gewölbekeller. Trotzdem schickte man uns nicht weg und wies uns ein schönes Plätzchen zu. Wir bekamen sogar unser Essen vor der großen Gruppe und wurden supernett betreut. Essen top und Service mega.

We ate there for the second time today. The first time it was really good, the food was hot, well seasoned and the service was great too. Today we were the first guests at 12 p.m. The food was then put on the counter, but the lady from the service was smoking. Well, one two minutes later we get it. But unfortunately not hot, the knuckle was tough and the dumplings had no taste at all. Schnitzel and liver were good. But a little tip to the service staff. If you want to talk about your ex-boyfriends, don't do it right next to the guests... that was very uncomfortable.

Für Stammtischgäste gibt es immer eine Rundum-Betreuung, leckeres Bier und guten Schnaps. Das Essen der Tageskarte ist stets außergewöhnlich. Der Wirt ist immer gut gelaunt.

I was a guest for the first time with my family. My family enjoyed it very much. The cellar beer is fresh and super tasty. We felt very comfortable in the cozy restaurant.

Unfortunately it was not a good experience. I hope it was an isolated event. The waiter forgot us, so we waited around 40 minutes to order and another 40 minutes for what we ordered to arrive. I didn't think the food was particularly good. And my place was at the door of the warehouse so I constantly had to get up for the staff to take things out.

We had dinner here with a large group. Great restaurant with nice innkeepers who were a bit overwhelmed at first. Unfortunately the food was bad. The schnitzel was tough, the spaetzle was cooked to death and the sauce was tasteless.

Hospitality is not particularly important here! There is no reason for us to recommend this or visit again! Just very rude! We have never been so unfriendly and suddenly stopped being served and actually thrown out! First we were asked if we still needed the cards, then no condition was given! When someone got lost again, we asked for a beer: we were met with a very unfriendly NO. When asked if we wouldn't get a bill, he got up the nerve to come and collect. So this is what Bavarian hospitality looks like! Thank you, you really are better people!!

Wir waren mit unserem Chor mit 20 Personen an einem Samstag zum Mittagessen beim Biersepp im Gewölbekeller. Betreuung was sehr gut, Getränke waren hervorragend und das Essen vorzüglich und reichlich. Jederzeit wieder auch mit einer größeren Gruppe.

We were welcomed and served very friendly. The chicken with fries and salad was very tasty. The meat is very juicy. The knuckle, dumplings and red cabbage were also very good. The knuckle was big and crispy...

Haxe was out at 5 p.m. No places available. Upon request, we were allowed to sit outside, but had to pay immediately and get the food ourselves. So zero service oriented.

A typical German Bierkeller restaurant: rustic, beer and hearty dishes. Service open after 9 p.m., very pleasant waiter and above all very fast with the food. The breaded schnitzel is very good with Spätzle, but not exceptional either. The right dish at the right price. Too bad the deserts are quite expensive (9€) compared to dishes between 10 and 20€.

After a nice walk along the Main, over Pompejanum and the castle, we stop there. Service could have been a little quicker, but it was also busy. So everything is in the green. After ordering, the food came within a reasonable time and was very tasty. Despite the good location, the price-performance ratio was reasonable.

We were at BierSepp with a large group (bus) and the organization was fantastic. The food was super tasty and came really quickly. All guests were satisfied and the service was also perfect.
