Wir waren begeistert vom Essen, dem super Service und schönen Ambiente und hatten einen wunderschönen Abend hier. Bester Spiessbraten in Idar-Oberstein Aber auch Vegetarier finden hier tolles Essen

Waren nach dreissig Jahren wieder einmal in diesem Lokal. Immer noch sehr gutes Essen und sehr freundliches Personal.

Ein besonderes Restaurant mit authentischem saarländischem Schwenkgrill. Das Team ist herzlich, freundlich und aufmerksam. Mein Salat mit Spießbraten war ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis – saftiges, perfekt gegrilltes Fleisch und frische Zutaten. Absolut empfehlenswert, gerne wieder!

Das servieren der Speisen hat ca. 40 Minuten gedauert - bei wenig Gästen innen wie außen. Eine Information zum Dauer der Zubereitung beim Bestellen - z.B. Ihr Speisen werden separat zubereitet und es kann bis zu .... Minuten dauern. Es fehlt auch ein entsprechender Hinweis in der Speisekarte.

Super Essen, sehr freundlicher Service, schöne Lage.

Auf Empfehlung von „Dzemeni“ beschlossen wir, dieses Restaurant zu besuchen und die berühmten Steaks zu probieren. Es war wirklich sehr lecker. Die Kellnerin, die unsere Steaks selbst zubereitete, beeindruckte mit ihrer Herzlichkeit. Witze, Tipps, freundliche Unterhaltung – es herrschte eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre.

Das Essen war lecker, aber sehr teuer. Der Service war extrem unfreundlich. Saßen zunächst 15-20 Minuten bis wir überhaupt bedient wurden, als wir dann meinten, wir könnten auch gleich Essen bestellen, kam nur: "Nö". Auch beim Bestellen an sich war der Service sehr unfreundlich. Später haben wir nach Salz gefragt, da kam ein Salzstreuer, bei dem das Salz komplett als ein Klumpen fest war. Nachdem wir fragten, ob wir einen anderen Salzstreuer haben könnten, schüttelte die Bedinung demonstrativ den Salzstreuer, haute ihn auf dem Tisch mehrfach auf, als das nichts brachte und verteilte das Salz komplett über unserer Hose. Auch da bekamen wir wieder unfreundliche Kommentare ab. Generell wurden wir mehr vergessen oder bekamen unfreundliche Kommemtare ab. Das Essen an sich war lecker, leider aber zu teuer und durch die unfreundliche Erfahrung, die alle 11 Leute von uns in dem Ausmaß noch nie erlebt haben, komplett kaputt gemacht.

Eines der besten Grillrestaurants, die ich in Deutschland besucht habe. Der Schweinenacken war außergewöhnlich: perfekt gewürzt, saftig, zart und einfach köstlich bis zum letzten Bissen. Dasselbe gilt für den Rinderbraten – einfach himmlisch. Der Service war für eine Touristengegend überdurchschnittlich gut: freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Essen war viel zu wenig für den Preis. Geschmacklich allerdings sehr gut. Man hat uns auch erstmal 20 Minuten nicht beachtet um uns danach mit einer Frechheit und Dreistigkeit zu bedienen...ein dummer Spruch nach dem anderen. Nicht zu empfehlen!

Wir waren heute im Spießbratenhaus essen und waren rundum begeistert. Das Essen war total lecker, besonders der Spießbraten war hervorragend mariniert und geschmacklich einfach top. Auch die Schnitzel, Pommes und der frische Salat haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Besonders positiv fanden wir die Kinderportionen, die wirklich ideal für Kinder waren. Der Service war einwandfrei: sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und die Getränke kamen sofort. Insgesamt hat einfach alles gepasst – leckeres Essen, guter Service und eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Spiessbraten vom Grill, noch nie so lecker gegessen! Top!!!

Als Touristen spät abends angekommen, Hunger!, zwei Mal woanders verständlicherweise wegen bereits geschlossener Küche abgewiesen worden, aber hier wurde direkt unkompliziert Flammkuchen angeboten (obwohl Küche eigentlich ebenfalls schon zu, aber „nen Flammkuchen kann man ja wohl mal machen“), der kam prompt und frisch und sehr lecker, restlicher Service auch sehr flott und nett. Empfehlung!

Wir waren heute Abend das erste mal hier. Wir sind beeindruckt von dem netten Personal, dem Ambiente und dem lecker Essen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. :-)

Tolle Ambiente, das Essen war okay, aber nicht 'außergewöhnlich'. Wir hatten Spießbraten. Das Fleisch war doch Recht fettig.

Wir waren auf der Suche nach einem guten Restaurant in Idar-Oberstein, weil ein Teil meiner Familie dorthin gezogen ist. Durch Empfehlungen sind wir hier gelandet – und es war wirklich ein Volltreffer. Das Fleisch war vom Aroma und von der Zubereitung her einfach perfekt. Man merkt direkt, dass hier Wert auf Qualität gelegt wird. Ein besonderes Lob geht an die nette Frau, die sich um uns gekümmert hat.Mit ihrer offenen Art hat sie den Abend noch angenehmer gemacht. Für uns steht fest: Das Restaurant hat neue Gäste gewonnen, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Solche traditionelle Gastronomie sollte noch lange erhalten bleiben. Regionale Gerichte und Spießbraten vom Holzfeuer und super lecker. Regionales Bier vom Fass.

Auf dem Weg zur Felsenkirche sind wir hier eingekehrt. Ich bin von dem Spießbraten total begeistert. Das war mein Highlight des Tages das Fleisch war butterzart und toll gewürzt. Mann schmeckt direkt dass das Fleisch über offenem Feuer zubereitet wurde. Der Service war Klasse und hat auch direkt darauf hingewiesen dass die Zubereitung vom Fleisch auf dem Feuer eine gewisse Zeit benötigt. Klasse. Klare Empfehlung

Guten Tag , wir haben uns zum anmelden in den Eingangsbereich gestellt und wurden da leider für 10 Minuten stehen gelassen . Eine Kellnerin lief mehrmals kommentarlos an uns vorbei . Eine Art der Kommunikation wäre schön gewesen . Sehr schade um den Spießbraten und unangenehm war es noch dazu .

Wir sind hier nur auf der Durchreise, sitzen gerade am Tisch und ich muss einfach eine Bewertung schreiben. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, die Gerichte sind wunderschön angerichtet und sehr lecker.🥰👍🌟

Schöne Location direkt am Marktplatz in Oberstein mit richtig angenehmer Atmosphäre. Das Essen ist lecker und wie man es von Stefan gewohnt ist, zuverlässig gut und frisch zubereitet. Insgesamt ein sehr stimmiges Gesamtpaket, auch preislich und vom Service her angenehm. Besonders für Touristen ist es ein idealer Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg zur Felsenkirche. Kann ich definitiv empfehlen.

Der Wahnsinn alles auf einem Schwenkgrill und der Mann behält den Überblick Wie

Wir waren hier vor 2 Wochen am Samstag Mittag essen und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wir wussten das es gut ist hier aber so gut . Wow . Große und tolle Portionen , lecker und vor allem trotz Wartezeit ( es war sehr voll 9 nicht vergessen worden . Das Preis Leistungsniveau stimmt vollkommen und die Atmosphäre ist einfach wunderbar. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und arbeitet bis an seine Grenzen. Wir würden auf jeden fall wiederkommen. Es empfiehlt sich aber vor anzurufen und zu reservieren.

Das Fleisch war wirklich super, da brauch man keine Beilagen oder Soßen.

Ein absolutes Muss, wenn Sie in Idar-Oberstain sind! Teuer? Vielleicht. Aber jeden Cent wert? Auf jeden Fall! Perfekt zubereitete Steaks, gegrillt auf einem speziellen Grill, der hauptsächlich in der Umgebung verwendet wird. Sabina, eine wahre Grillmeisterin, sorgt dafür, dass Sie jeden Bissen genießen!

Waren zu zweit vor Ort. Service und das Essen waren sehr lecker.

Die vermeintliche Käsesahne Torte entpuppte sich als schlechtes Beispiel eines überteuerten Versuch des laienhaften backens. Weder Käse noch Sahne waren hier zu erkennen, Fertigmischung Biskuitboden, außen irgendwas undefinierbares mit weißer Farbe, vollkommen geschmacklos. Garantiert nie mehr wieder.Der Service war freundlich und schnell.

Ich habe den Spießbraten vom Schweinenacken mit Pommes bestellt. Bekommen habe ich für 21,90 € ein normales Nackensteak vom Grill mit labberigen Pommes. Ich finde es eine Ver……schung wenn man etwas anpreist für eine lokale Spezialität und dann dem Gast etwas serviert was zuhause bei jedem grillen gegessen wird.

Landeten heute zufällig in diesem Restaurant. Den Original Idar-Obersteiner Spieß-bzw. Schwenkbraten haben wir zwar nicht genossen, aber auf dem Nachbartisch gesichtet und für sehr gut befunden (weil offensichtlich auf althergebrachte Art zubereitet. Als gebürtige Idar-Obersteinerin glaube ich das beurteilen zu können). Unser Essen war gut. Was uns aber besonders imponierte: Es gab auf der Tageskarte sowohl Gulasch als auch Rouladen, was man heutzutage in Restaurants ja kaum noch antrifft. Bloß leider hatten wir die entsprechende Tafel am Eingang nicht gesehen. Wer lesen kann... Nachtrag: Wir waren jetzt zum dritten Mal hier. Bei jedem Besuch in der alten Heimat kehren wir mittlerweile in der alten Kanzlei ein und fragen uns, warum wir all die Jahr(zehnt)e nie hier waren. Nach allem, was man als Restaurantbesucher/in im allgemeinen so zu erdulden hat, seien es Qualität, aber auch Preise, ist dieses Restaurant eine löbliche Ausnahme. Wir möchten es uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Ach, was sind meine Familie und ich so gerne hier. Oft fahren wir eh gerne ins bezaubernde Idar Oberstein und Umgebung. Dafür kommen wir extra von der Nordeifel her. Leider konnten wir die letzten Jahre nicht kommen da meine Schwester und ich einen schweren Autounfall hatten. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, daß wir bald wieder hier herein schneien können. Dieses Restaurant steht bei unserer beste und gemütliche Gaststuben ganz oben. Meine Familie und besonders ich lieben Holz sowie Fachwerk. Viele meiner Wohnstuben sehen Ihren Lokaleinrichtung sehr ähnlich. Das Essen ist ganz wunderbar. Ich liebe Ihre Pizzen genauso wie die idyllische Atmosphäre. Bis bald hoffentlich.

Wir waren im Spießbratenhaus Alte Kanzlei essen und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Speisekarte bietet klassische, deftige Gerichte. Besonders gut geschmeckt haben uns der Schweinebraten mit Knödeln und Rotkraut sowie der Spießbraten. Auch das Schweinefilet war sehr lecker und gut zubereitet. Zum Abschluss gab es Desserts wie Schokokuchen mit heißen Kirschen und Apfelstrudel mit Vanilleeis und Sahne ein perfekter Abschluss für ein gelungenes Essen.

Familie und Freunde haben unseren Besuch im Restaurant sehr genossen. Die Portionen waren für den Preis angemessen und das Grillfleisch war hervorragend. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und sorgte für ein rundum gelungenes Esserlebnis.

Man spürt sofort, dass hier Menschen arbeiten, die Gastronomie nicht nur können, sondern wirklich leben. Mit Leidenschaft, Herz und einer ehrlichen Freude am Gast. Das Essen? Eine fette 10 von 10! Gerichte, die man so in den meisten deutschen Küchen gar nicht mehr auf der Karte findet, dazu alles frisch und tatsächlich hausgemacht. Wirklich außergewöhnlich lecker und mit so viel Liebe zubereitet. Einfach der Wahnsinn. Ein Ort, den man nicht nur wegen des Essens besucht, sondern wegen des ganzen Gefühls, das man dort erlebt. We were there as a couple with two children. The selection is heavily focused on spit roast, but that's exactly what the name suggests. We wanted it that way. There's even the option of spit roast lamb, if you like. Alternatively, you can choose schnitzel or potato dumplings with a minced meat and leek filling in a cream sauce. We loved it! We had spit roast beef, Wiener schnitzel, and the potato dumpling. We'd love to go again! The waitress is absolutely perfect at her job. She does her work with a lot of humor and the necessary determination. Thank you for that! Next time we're in the region, we'll have to plan a meal here. The kids agree!

Well-crafted, traditional food. Very friendly staff. Moderate pricing. Such unfussy, "normal" inns are becoming increasingly rare. So please visit regularly and appreciate them. I happened to be passing through this time by chance. But I will always plan my route so that I can stop there.

We came here spontaneously last weekend. We called an hour in advance with the request to sit outside, and it was no problem. The service was very friendly, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

They serve delicious spit roasts here. The prices are also perfectly reasonable. Unfortunately, it took a long time for us to receive the food we ordered. It was busy (on a Saturday), but a warning that it would take about an hour would have been helpful with children. The children received two small gems as a welcome gift and were very happy about them. The beef was checked for doneness when ordering, and it was served exactly as it was. Great! 👍 We would definitely come back if we were in the region again.

Unfortunately, service in the restaurant was very slow. Although it was only moderately busy, we weren't served for 15 minutes. During this time, we observed that other guests also had to wait a long time for their food – even a larger group only received their salads every 10 minutes.

I'd love to review the food, but I never got around to it. Someone quickly showed us to our table, but from then on, no one showed up. The waitresses kept walking past us without serving us, let alone asking what we wanted to drink. After 20 minutes, we got up and left.

Good taste and quality (4*) Portion size for an adult man was rather small in relation to the price (3*) The wait time was rather above average with a table occupancy of about 40% (about 50 minutes for three main courses, without an appetizer). Our order didn't include a spit roast, as we were informed when ordering that it would take about 40 minutes to prepare. The majority of the staff is friendly, but some are very matter-of-fact and direct. I pay attention to the tone of voice, recommendations, and acting in the best interests of the guest. So, for example, if a guest orders a pizza for a little girl, I assume it will be served sliced ​​and I don't have to mention it. We had an outdoor table, which was clean. The Spießbratenhaus is located right on a small, cozy square in the pedestrian zone. Overall, I recommend it, but I advise guests to plan for a bit of a wait. I advise restaurant management to pay a little more attention to how the staff interacts with guests and to increase the portion sizes of the side dishes slightly.

We had a spit-roasted salad with fire-roasted potatoes and a spit-roasted entrecote. Both were truly delicious! Highly recommended!

A very nice, rustic restaurant. 3 stars are well-intentioned. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for our food. Two guests who arrived after us finished their meals before our food even arrived at the table. The steak, or rather the spit roast, was supposed to be medium, but was more raw and fatty than well-cooked. It must have been prepared quickly because we were forgotten, and it also got cold too quickly. Therefore, I gave 1/3 of the cold, greasy 3/4 raw spit roast to my dog instead. The food, or rather the taste of the spit roast, is not worth the €90-100. However, the waiter and waitress were excellent and very friendly and attentive.

Friendliness seems to be a low priority here. We understand if a restaurant is fully booked on a Friday night (even though it wasn't apparent from the tables!), but we can't understand why, when you ask a really friendly question, you're treated so rudely, as if you'd just attacked the person!

Delicious, we were satisfied. I later learned during a tour of the Stollen that I should have complained about the 0.5 cm of spit roast on my XL burger. But otherwise, I was actually satisfied at the time of my visit.

The meat was completely dry, and we waited an hour for our food. Considering the restaurant's name is Spiebratenhaus, this one was a disaster. Very dry!

We stopped by this restaurant while looking for somewhere to eat. We immediately loved the rustic atmosphere. Simply divine, and highly recommended! The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine, considering the fresh, authentic cooking and grilling using the best ingredients. The value for money leaves much to be desired. Just any breaded piece of meat isn't a schnitzel. I definitely don't want to go back.

€20 is pretty steep for a Schwenkbraten (they call it a Spießbraten there, even though it's not a rolled roast on a spit). Fries cost another €5 extra. The quality, however, was very good.

Here, spit roast isn't just on the menu; it's a real treat. The best in the region. Service and ambiance take care of the rest. A must-try when visiting Idar-Oberstein.

Very friendly service, quick service, and excellent quality. We didn't need a side dish; the portions are designed for hungry guests 😀 The restaurant is beautifully located below the Felsenkirche church in a very quiet pedestrian zone. We'd love to come back again.

Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended Our visit to the Spießbratenhaus was unfortunately very disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired – we were ignored for a long time, had to ask several times, and ultimately almost begged to be allowed to pay at all. The service seemed uncoordinated and overwhelmed. Particularly annoying: Although the noticeboard said card payments should be accepted, we were suddenly refused this when paying. No comprehensible explanation was given. After waiting over half an hour for the bill, we spoke directly to one of the staff members. Unfortunately, the situation was not handled professionally – instead, we received rude responses. What was particularly irritating was that blanket, inappropriate statements were made about the restaurant's own staff, which we found very inappropriate. It's a shame – we were looking forward to our visit, but we will definitely choose a different restaurant in the future. A restaurant thrives on hospitality – which we unfortunately missed here.

A very unpleasant waitress works here. She's only friendly with older people. She pretends not to notice us so she doesn't serve us. With service like that, it's better to go to another good restaurant.

This is one of the few spit roast restaurants that still serves the original spit roast. I highly recommend it. The service is friendly and attentive. We had the spit roast roast beef and the spit roast roast beef special. The portions are quite manageable without side dishes. Keep in mind that the wait can easily be 30-40 minutes. We found the spit roast with radish salad very good. We would definitely eat here again.

Totally overwhelmed. Several tables free inside, some reserved outside. Unfortunately, a normal answer to our question about whether a table for four people was available wasn't available. None of the three employees we spoke to could provide one. What a shame.

Looking for dinner after arriving around 8pm we found this restaurant. It was very busy but they got us in and served us. The food was very good, we all ordered typical German plates. I saw that they had steaks but did not realize they had an open grill out back until after we ordered. The steaks looked delicious and if I were to go back I would order one! My group all had good meals and were very happy. A little difficult to get our ticket and get out because they were so busy. Definitely give this place a shot, worth the time spent.

I rated highly because each staff were very friendly and smiling! We went there as 5 people with reservation. We dine in. They check on our table often. I ordered chicken breast with lemon and herb butter, rice and salad. It was absolutely delicious. We sat outside, spent time almost three hours. Atmosphere was amazing. The location of the restaurant is so easy!

We were here on Mother's Day and know the restaurant from before. As usual, the food was very tasty, freshly prepared, very nice, friendly and attentive service, nice atmosphere, the prices correspond to the high quality of the dishes. Highly recommended.

The service was very attentive and friendly. I also really liked the atmosphere. And of course the most important thing: the food. I had the spit roast pork neck with fire potatoes and radish salad. I found it incredibly delicious. It was definitely worth the wait. I will definitely come back when I'm in Idar-Oberstein again.

We often come by here with our cycling group. Basically, the meat in particular is of very good quality, which you can't necessarily find everywhere these days. The ingredients such as potatoes, salads, etc. are also fresh and prepared according to good old traditions. You can tell that a lot of effort goes into ensuring that the guest is satisfied. Above all, the prices are absolutely acceptable, which is something you can't say anywhere else. I can therefore absolutely recommend the restaurant.
