DAS! Schlemmer-Restaurant in Altenstadt

The hype is real! We finally ordered takeout today for the first time, and we haven't had such a delicious schnitzel in ages! The sauce and side dish were also very tasty, plus the service staff was super friendly. We'll definitely be back! :)

Positive: Excellent service, quick drink refills, the children received their food first and were warmly welcomed, the side salad was delicious and beautifully presented. The fries, chicken nuggets, and Spätzle were also perfect. Negative: The ambiance is rather unpleasant; you can see they're trying, but the concept isn't quite there yet. The restrooms were a disaster. Dirty, with cobwebs and spiders on the ceilings, all of our fried potatoes were dry, as was the chicken schnitzel, and some of the sauces were too thick and there wasn't enough of them. All in all, the food was acceptable, but not something we'd necessarily recommend. It's okay for a quick lunch. We went because of the many positive reviews, but unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for us.

A truly outstanding restaurant! The food was simply delicious – especially the duck and the schnitzel, which were perfectly prepared, tender, and full of flavor. My meal was okay, but nothing special. My wife sent back over half because she didn't like it at all. We kindly didn't have to pay for that dish. We were then asked not to come back. We weren't planning on coming back anyway. The service seemed lackluster. We had reserved inside and were then escorted to the heated conservatory. We found it noisy and rather uncomfortable there. Reaction to the response: Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We were told on the phone that if we arrived right away, it would still be possible to eat inside. When we arrived, a young waitress said they could accommodate two more people. She was then simply told to take us to the conservatory. I don't want to say anything more.

We've seen lots of posts and videos on Instagram. We finally went to eat at your place. Schnitzel Tower No. 1 with mushroom cream sauce and croquettes, gourmet schnitzel with fries, a grilled platter, and three different dumplings with mushroom cream sauce. All four dishes were delicious. The meat from the grilled platter was tender as butter. The schnitzels were also tender as butter. The dumpling with beetroot was the best.

We wanted to eat there today at 5:30 p.m. and were told there was no table available even though there was nobody there. We would have sat down but the young man said there would be 4 tables. He gave the impression that it would be too much for him. We didn't know that a reservation was required. I work in the catering industry myself and have never experienced anything like this before.

Yesterday we went to the Schlemmer Restaurant and had burgers there – and what can I say: simply wow! As soon as you enter, you notice the cozy atmosphere, which immediately makes you feel inviting. The team was super friendly, attentive, and always there with a smile, without being intrusive. The burgers themselves are an absolute highlight: juicy meat, perfectly grilled, with fresh, homemade ingredients and truly delicious sauces that complete the whole experience. You can immediately taste the attention to detail. The side dish was also top-notch – crispy fries, and everything was served hot and fresh. We particularly liked that it wasn't just a "quick burger" but an all-around enjoyable experience. The quality, taste, and service are simply a perfect match. We highly recommend the Schlemmer Restaurant – whether for a relaxed evening with friends, a date, or simply when you're craving a really good burger.

We stopped by spontaneously and just wanted something to eat. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a seat, and the staff were inflexible about making a table available. So, spontaneous dining is completely out of the question. It's a shame.

We recently visited DAS! Gourmet Restaurant in Altenstadt for the first time because of the great Instagram pictures, and the 80 km drive was well worth it. Very friendly and pleasant service. The food was truly delicious. We had the Schnitzel Tower No. 2 with sour cream sauce and fries, and the Gypsy Schnitzel with Duchess potatoes. A side salad has to be ordered separately. I had forgotten, but it wasn't a big deal. That left room for the legendary cheesecake for dessert, which truly deserves its reputation. We even had to take two slices home because it was so delicious. I can also recommend the gourmet lemonade. It's very refreshing 😋 We'd love to come back. Maybe even in the fall during pumpkin season 👍

TOP-notch food SUPER FRIENDLY service and always ACCEPTING Reservations requested – to me, that means it SPEAKS FOR the restaurant, no matter which one. It also means, to me, that the price/performance ratio is absolutely top-notch! So far, I've only tried the "Flying Buffet" once, and it's absolutely top-notch. As for the schnitzel tower and the cheesecake, I can only say you shouldn't miss them. I'll definitely be back🤩

As a family celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary, we had a wonderful evening. The food was fantastic. The small child at the table was handled commendably. Praise also goes to the kitchen here; the schnitzel was freshly pounded and there were no mushrooms from a can. The chef even came personally to ensure that everyone was okay. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired... We sat at the table from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In the entire time, we were only asked twice whether we wanted anything else or if everything was OK... Even after the first people at the table had paid and we mentioned that we would like another drink, no one came to take our order! When we asked, it took another 15 minutes before we were served. Waiters initially ignored our messages or fobbed us off with "it'll take a moment". Instead of clearing away glasses that had been at the table since the beginning, they served empty tables... At the end, the remaining guests were asked what the guests had already paid two hours earlier... We didn't even get a proper bill. Absurd! Whether we'll be back is still up in the air. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed.

We were turned away with the explanation that today was a flying buffet, and reservations were required. This wasn't clear online, and there was nothing posted on the display outside the store either. We drove the entire way for nothing. How were we supposed to know that you could only eat there with a reservation today? And we weren't even asked if we wanted to take anything with us.

The service was excellent. There were five of us, and almost everyone had a starter and a main course. We ordered a variety of dishes to try out a few things from the menu. Everyone was absolutely thrilled. We will definitely be back and will definitely recommend the restaurant. It's a good idea to reserve a table.

An inconspicuous insider tip! We discovered this restaurant and its countless accolades through social media. Although we're locals, the place remains largely unknown, which turns out to be a mistake. We were greeted very politely, shown directly to our seats, and warmly looked after the entire time – first-class service. The decor and ambiance were very cozy and well-kept. Our food was easy to order, and our requests were taken into account. Our ordered schnitzel towers with chanterelle cream sauce/onion paprika sauce and fried potatoes/fries were on point, perfectly cooked, and seasoned. We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. We were completely surprised and impressed. Highly recommended. Thanks to the fantastic staff and the owner/chef for the wonderful afternoon; we'll definitely be back.

Super delicious food, incredibly friendly staff, both in the kitchen and behind the counter. If you're craving German cuisine, this is the place for you. The portions are generously sized and truly delicious. You can tell a lot of love goes into the cooking and preparation. If you're still not full, I highly recommend the New York Cheesecake! But be careful, it's highly addictive. Insanely delicious, simply amazing!! A little tip: call or email and reserve a table, because it's always busy and usually fully booked days in advance.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Besides the friendly and welcoming service, the chef is just as welcoming!! We drove 98 km to try this gourmet restaurant and were not disappointed! We'll be back. Go there and indulge yourself in a delicious meal in stylish surroundings!! Oh, and I almost forgot: even though they don't offer a schnitzel tower for lunch, I did get one! If it wasn't so far away, we would go and eat there more often!

Great food at reasonable prices. But first things first... I was treated very nicely when I made the reservation over the phone, even though it sounded like the restaurant was full. We were in the restaurant with friends, and I have to say the ambiance is very appealing and modern. The reception was very friendly, and we were even allowed to choose our own table. We received the menu fairly quickly and were able to order drinks right away. When we looked at the menu, we immediately noticed the relatively reasonable prices (we would normally have expected small portions here). We ordered 3 Schnitzel Towers, 2 No. 1 and 1 No. 2, 1 Jägerschnitzel (the only disappointment was that there was no Jägerschnitzel in it, just mushrooms), and 1 Grilled Plate... And the portions were huge. The sauces were sufficient for us. (Of course, it could always be more... but you can't eat more than that anyway.) Each schnitzel tower came with a side dish (fries, fried potatoes, or croquettes) and a sauce of your choice. A side salad costs extra (if you need it, it's only €3). The grilled platter includes fries and bacon-wrapped beans, as well as two dips. The schnitzels were super delicious, freshly made, and not your run-of-the-mill ready-made schnitzel. The fried potatoes were crispy and not drowned in oil. The meat in the grilled platter was cooked to perfection. (The sausages could have been a bit darker, but they were still very tasty.) I celebrated my birthday in the beer garden of the family-run "Höfling" gourmet restaurant. The room met my expectations for the celebration, as it's very bright and feels like you're sitting outdoors. My guests also felt very comfortable in this ambiance. We had a wonderful celebration with delicious food and great service. The menu, which we selected with the chef and featured regional produce, was very well received by my guests. The starter and dessert were served at the table, and the main course was presented buffet-style, which everyone found very enjoyable. The meat was super tender and juicy, simply delicious, and the fish was beautifully grilled. The various vegetable variations and the wild garlic tagliatelle were particularly well-received by the guests. And with the lemon sauce, which was highly praised and very popular, even the vegetarians were well catered for. The waiters were very attentive, extremely friendly, and kind throughout the evening, right up until the last hour. Regular schnitzel with unfortunately too little sauce. Reordering additional sauce costs extra, and a side salad also has to be ordered separately. The plate could have been nicer with a lettuce leaf or something similar; it looks a bit like a train station canteen. I won't have to go back.

The boss invited us to a NY cheesecake and said that we had never had such a good cheesecake. We can say: True! The NY Cheesecake was an absolute dream. We will definitely come back and if we could we would give 10 stars!

It was our first time at Schlemmer Restaurant and we will definitely come back. I had the Schnitzelturm No. 1 with fries and salad and was totally satisfied. Everything is freshly prepared. Even the fries are handmade (as the owner and chef told us afterwards during his tour from table to table). The two service staff, who served us very friendly and always with a smile on their faces, deserve another plus. At the end I had the New York Cheesecake and that was also a poem. It's nice that there is a restaurant like this near us.

Here you will find very friendly service paired with wonderfully tasty food. The schnitzel tower was amazing and the hunter's sauce with it was fresh!!!!!! Champions made. The duck breast was also fried to perfection. The potato and celery puree was not watery and tasted great. The fried potatoes were the best we have ever eaten. For dessert we had the cheesecake and a chocolate cake with raspberry mousse. Here too, everything was homemade, which you not only saw but also tasted. We can warmly recommend this restaurant. Price performance is absolutely top here, in mine it's almost a bit too cheap. When we're in the area again, this will be our first stop when it comes to food.

Yesterday we went to the Schlemmer restaurant for the first time and tested the flying buffet. The flying buffet is 20 small courses comparable to tapas. The food was very varied and creative. Spices were played with and everything from salmon to beef fillet to game was included. Particularly noteworthy is the quality of the products. Both the Jr. Chef and Sen. Chef took the time to talk to us. We had about an hour's drive, which was worth it in every way. We will come back :)

Yesterday we were with friends at *Das! Gourmet restaurant* and were absolutely thrilled. We became aware of a Tik-Tok post about a flying buffet, which we definitely want to visit next year. The ambience is modern and cozy and fully lives up to the motto on the sign outside. We ate the goulash soup, chestnut soup, garlic prawns, schnitzel tower No. 1 with bacon and beans, fried potatoes and side salad (once with cream sauce and once with pepper cream sauce), deer ranch with pretzel dumplings and red cabbage, duck with potato-celery puree and savoy cabbage. Finally, we had the gingerbread parfait and the warm apple strudel the homemade nougat ice cream. There were also some drinks. Among other things, the homemade baked apple liqueur is highly recommended. The dishes were all very tasty, cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The homemade baked apple liqueur and chocolate liqueur are also available in small bottles to take home, with the proceeds going to the local animal shelter. What can I say, an all-round great evening. We all ate and drank plenty and drinks were under €50 per person. home. There was also a short conversation with the owner/chef and a piece of cheesecake to try. There was hardly any room left in our stomachs, but even that was just amazing. There is a deduction in the ambience because for me the sanitary facilities are always part of the overall picture and unfortunately they form a contrast to the otherwise modern and cozy restaurant.

Das Ambiente ist modern und gemütlich und erfüllt den Leitspruch auf dem Schild draußen voll und ganz. Gegessen haben wir wir die Gulaschsuppe, Maronensuppe, Knoblauchgarnelen, Schnitzel-Turm Nr.1 mit Speck-Bohnen, Bratkartoffeln und Beilagen Salat (einmal mit Rahmsoße und einmal mit Pfeffer Rahmsoße), Hirschranchen mit Brezelknödel und Rotkohl, Ente mit Kartoffel-Sellerie Püree und Wirsing zum Abschluss noch das Lebkuchen Parfait und den warmen Apfelstrudel mit dem hausgemachten Nougat Eis. Dazu kamen noch einige Getränke. Unter anderem der selbstgemachten Bratapfel Likör ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Gerichte waren alle sehr lecker, auf den Punkt gegart und gut abgeschmeckt. Den selbstgemachten Bratapfel Likör und Schoko Likör gibt es auch in kleinen Flaschen zu erwerben für zu Hause, die Einnahmen davon gehen ans örtliche Tierheim. Was soll ich sagen, ein rundum toller Abend. Wir haben alle reichlich gegessen und getrunken und sind mit Getränken unter 50€ p.P. nach Hause. Ein kurzes Gespräch mit dem InhaberKoch war auch noch drin und ein Stück Cheesecake zum probieren gab es noch. Platz war kaum noch in unseren Bäuchen, aber auch der war einfach der Hammer.

We haven't eaten so well in a long time. Only recommended. The schnitzel tower was amazing. Side dishes also well portioned. Pumpkin soup was also very good. We will definitely come back. Price performance absolutely fine.

Actually I don't know, I'm a foreigner, I went to order a special dish that I saw on their menu online and they didn't have it, I went back the next day to order another dish and they said it was only with reservation even though it was for takeout, I actually felt that they didn't want to support me.

We spent a wonderful evening with you! The atmosphere was inviting and we felt very comfortable! The service is simply excellent, super nice and attentive! The food was simply perfect, we were able to enjoy game dishes and the dessert was a real delight! (you can also see it in the pictures) Price performance is also a highlight, and this shows that the owners have remained down to earth despite the regional cuisine and the extremely high quality. Something very rare these days... We'll definitely be back!

Was a guest yesterday. We had a reservation and were warmly welcomed. Drinks came quite quickly. As a starter, three kinds of dumplings with cheese sauce, which unfortunately were all very dry and had already pulled the skin. Main course 300 gr. rump steak medium which never had 300 gr. Almost cooked through, the taste was very good...I was told about the size if it was too small I could get another piece. 2nd dish was pink fried slice of venison with celery mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. There is the following to say about this dish: the slices were well-done and the food was returned and a short time later the plate arrived. It was still the same plate this time without sauce and the meat this time was not new but simply cold. It was cold as well as the side dishes Mashed potatoes sprinkled with fried celery and the Brussels sprouts had seen better days. At least this dish was taken off the bill. All in all, not a nice stay. When asked, the chef didn't come to the table either.

We had to wait over an hour for the food. It was mediocre at best. The fried potatoes mentioned were fried pieces of potato and the cheese spaetze looked more like semolina porridge. The service was very friendly, but neglected to point out the long waiting time

We celebrated our daughter's baptism in the Schlemmer restaurant. In consultation with the owner, we were able to offer our guests an individual menu from the restaurant menu. Our wishes and ideas regarding the food and the decoration were implemented to our complete satisfaction. We had a wonderful celebration with delicious food and great service.
