The food is very good. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to wait a bit too long for your food. But we highly recommend the restaurant.

We go there every now and then for dinner. It's a nice, good, and clean restaurant. The food is delicious, and the portions are very generous. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat eater, there's something for everyone here. There's something for every taste. We'll be back.

The service staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always there to help without being intrusive. And the food: simply outstanding! We arrived without a reservation and were lucky enough to get a table from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The food arrived quickly and the portions were generous (a small portion is perfectly adequate). Unfortunately, the sauces aren't homemade, but they were still okay. At 6:20 p.m., we ordered an espresso and a glass of wine to finish off the meal. When the espresso arrived, the waitress informed us that the wine was no longer being served due to time constraints. We won't be coming back. Hospitality and customer satisfaction really don't have the best of both worlds. What a shame!

Food top-notch! Service flop! We celebrated our (grand)parents' 60th wedding anniversary here. We made a reservation well in advance. For 8 adults, a child, and a stroller. The table was designed for a maximum of 8 people, and there was barely enough room for the child and stroller. Both the drinks and the food arrived quickly. The food was also really good. The staff, however, seemed totally annoyed by everything and everyone. I never saw any of them laugh. They only spoke the bare minimum. If you had a question, they were immediately annoyed. There is no changing table for babies, nor is there anywhere else available. We then went to the car to change...

We've been to this restaurant several times and have been very satisfied every time. The food is consistently tasty and of good quality. The generous portions are particularly noteworthy, and the price is absolutely fair. The restaurant itself is modern and stylishly decorated, with a particularly beautiful and large beer garden, which is a real highlight, especially in summer. The chef and the entire staff are always friendly and attentive, which makes the visit even more pleasant. Overall, this is a restaurant that we would happily recommend and will certainly return to again.

Six of us were at the restaurant, and each of us ordered a schnitzel. The portions are truly impressive—even the small schnitzels are huge and definitely not to be underestimated. The medium-sized schnitzels fill the entire plate. They were served with delicious fried potatoes, and the sauces were also impressive. The pepper cream schnitzel was particularly excellent. We sat outside in the beautiful garden with a wonderful view of trees, fields, and meadows—very idyllic and cozy. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, and the restrooms were clean and well-maintained. Parking is available right outside, although you might have to search a bit when it's busy. The dessert was also impressive—all in all, a successful visit. It's particularly convenient: you can easily pay by card. We'd love to come back!

There are two dining rooms, and we sat in the smaller one. The noise level was pleasant, which can't be said for the larger dining room. The schnitzels are highly recommended. They also taste like schnitzel and not like pressed meat. They offer small and medium portions, and the small one is perfectly adequate. They don't skimp on side dishes either. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great restaurant. You should definitely make a reservation. The staff are very friendly and fast. The ambiance is chic and cozy. But the most important thing is the food, and it's really, really good. Both in terms of taste and portion size! A small schnitzel is enough for a normal appetite. The medium one is for those with a huge appetite. Whatever you can't finish, they'll happily pack up to go! It's worth a visit!

We've never been greeted with such rudeness and unprofessionalism as we were at your restaurant last week. They even sent us outside at 5:13 p.m., even though it was open from 5 p.m., the restaurant was empty, and we had a reservation for 5:30 p.m. It's a shame. It was actually a good place for us, but we don't want to continue with this approach.

The food was really good, unfortunately the tables in the garden are very close together, so there is a lack of privacy and you can't enjoy the food because you are inhaling the smoke from the other tables.

Everything was fine so far, maybe they should choose a different dressing for the side salads. If you don't like beetroot like me, then you've got a problem... The service wasn't really that attentive; we were given a drink and then they didn't ask anything else.

The ambiance was nice and the schnitzel was okay. The service was terrible! You get an unfriendly welcome and are shown to your table in a grumpy manner. The first drinks came quickly. Three tables that arrived later and had ordered after us received their dishes well before us. Ordering more drinks was difficult; you felt invisible. The bill wasn't correct either.

Today, the two of us stopped in without a reservation and got a table. My husband had a large schnitzel (giant) and I had a small schnitzel (large). The meat was very good and tasty. My second half, reheated at home, was still delicious. It's highly recommended for people with a good appetite (my husband, for example). We both had the Waldeslust with chanterelle mushrooms. The staff are great.

These can be ordered gluten-free, vegetarian, or with poultry, so there's truly something for everyone. It's noticeable that they only serve small or medium portions, not large ones. This should be a warning, as the portions (I had a medium) are truly enormous. Something like that is truly rare these days, and that brings me to the final point: the price. All dishes are within normal limits and, considering the portion size, absolutely fine.

Sorry, I can't share the good reviews. The person who let us in was unfriendly. I said goodbye as I was leaving, but there was no response. The service was terrible; it wasn't full. We waited a quarter of an hour until someone came and took our drinks (that is, until the staff noticed us). The food came quickly, but it just wasn't that great. We gave up on ordering our second drink; all the staff skillfully ignored us. So, sorry, if a restaurant is supposed to be this good, then I expect a bit of friendliness and attention on a Saturday, and a pleasant entrance. There are better alternatives.

Today was our first time here. We had reserved a table, received a warm welcome, and were escorted to our table. The staff was very pleasant, friendly, and attentive. The food is of very high quality and very tasty. The 400g schnitzel is amazing. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, and we had to wait a long time for someone to attend to us. My wife celebrated her milestone birthday today. We wanted to order ice cream to finish off the meal. But because of the very long wait, we decided against it and left without dessert. What a shame! We've eaten there four times now, but this time the service was a bit slow. But we'd be happy to come back because the food is simply delicious and the price is reasonable. P.S.: I had called two days before and asked if they could decorate the table a bit for my wife's birthday and also arrange a small bouquet of flowers. They arranged this for an additional charge. The schnitzels were good and plentiful. The taste was excellent. The service was polite and attentive. What's absolutely unacceptable in a restaurant like this are the toilets. The toilet seats are much too small. They're also broken, torn, and not properly secured. The water pressure is so low that you can't flush everything away. The toilet doors don't close, and if they do, they only open with force, so the door handles and screws are all loose. A "no go." For us and our guests, this is a reason not to go there again. Dear owner: Please invest a few euros in proper and functional toilets.

Good food, friendly service – but unfortunately not very flexible We visited the Dahlhauser Landhaus for my husband's 30th birthday with five adults and two small children. The staff were consistently friendly, and the food tasted good – however, there were a few aspects that noticeably spoiled the evening. We ordered a Fanta to share for our children (2 and 5 years old) – the menu only serves 0.5 liters. We asked for two glasses to divide the amount in a child-friendly way. Instead, each child was served their own 0.3 liters of Fanta – which is completely inappropriate for a two-year-old. The communication was friendly, but not very well thought out. The children received a small dessert (we ordered a main course for both of us, even for the two-year-old). The waitress specifically asked whether the children should have the Kinder Joy now or whether it would be better to have it secretly, which I highly commend. That was a friendly and very thoughtful gesture. I personally wanted to order only one children's meal, as I had two appetizers planned, so I could have dessert later. Unfortunately, this was strictly rejected – children's meals were reserved exclusively for children. A smaller portion or a so-called "pensioner's plate" was also not offered. A concession (e.g., a regular-sized children's meal at a higher price) would have been appreciated – especially from a sustainability perspective: I'd rather have a smaller portion than an unfinished main course. Wasting food is unacceptable to me, and if I know I won't be able to finish a large portion, I can't order it. When guests communicate this kind of thing, a restaurant should greatly appreciate it in these times of (sustainability debates/meat consumption)! I emphasized several times that it was too much for me and that I couldn't finish the entire main course. Despite talking to the server and calling another person over, no solution was offered, so in the end, I didn't eat anything and canceled my meals. I find this kind of treatment of food unacceptable. The salad was served, but there was no cutlery. The children had already started eating with their hands. When we asked, we were told that the waitress wasn't responsible. Only later, upon second request, did we receive cutlery – after the main courses had already been served. Conclusion: Good food, friendly service – but there's still a lot of room for improvement in terms of flexibility. Next time, I'd rather go to a restaurant that's more accommodating to guests' requests. Offering a smaller portion can't be such a feat. Edit in response to the reaction: I already wrote in my review that one option would have been to offer the children's meal for an adult price – I don't think that would have been difficult to implement. Especially considering that my neighbor and friend regularly visits her restaurant and can no longer eat large amounts after her gastric surgery, and confirmed to me yesterday that she had already been able to get a small plate. This makes the argument of unequal treatment indeed valid, as it clearly already exists. We'd be happy to make a second visit and hope that perhaps a solution can be found for a smaller main course that's still economically acceptable for you, but doesn't require you to take a large quantity with you or have to dispose of it. We would be very pleased to hear your feedback.

On our culinary tour we visited the Dahlhauser Landhaus for the first time. We reserved a table for four people in advance, which went smoothly. We found the ambience pleasant. The noise level in the dining room was a bit loud but not disturbing. The drinks and food were served promptly. We all agreed that we haven't had such good schnitzel dishes in a long time. The staff were attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back and try other dishes. A small note about the menu: It would be nice if the schnitzels were also available in 200g or 400g instead of small or medium. For us, 200g with a starter and side dishes was more than enough. And yes, the parking lot gets very full at peak times. All in all it was a lovely evening.

Pictured here is the duo of medium schnitzels. Medium isn't exactly a big deal, it's closer to huge. And freshly made, with homemade sauces. So far, everything was great. The weak point was, unfortunately, the very soggy fried potatoes. My wife had a pasta dish and was very happy with it. Update: On a recent visit, I opted for fries. And now I can say, everything was perfect. Such delicious schnitzel sauces and the amount of mushrooms on the schnitzels are hard to find at many other restaurants. My wife had the loin in pepper sauce this time, and they were also excellent!

The food is great, very tasty, respect!!! The waiters are a bit irritable, though; they literally reprimand you if you arrive too early/late, when a friendly reminder would have been enough. Appetizers could only be ordered with the main course, which meant that the food arrived before we'd even finished the starter. If you want really good food but can live without a great atmosphere, you absolutely have to go and see for yourself.

I can recommend it without reservation. There were six of us there, so we tried a variety of dishes, and everyone was full of praise for the quality and taste!

Incredibly, although it is already extinct in many cities in Germany, it is still on the menu here in the wild. "Finally a restaurant that hasn't yet been overrun by political correctness! Here you can still get the good old gypsy schnitzel - for everyone who doesn't want to sit on the couch and mope around. Cheers to culinary freedom!" And everything is well prepared and delicious. I have been a regular guest at this restaurant for several years. Was always very satisfied with the food and the staff. Table reservations were always made in advance by telephone because the total distance was around 80 km. I have reserved a table for 6 p.m. for 2 people for Easter Sunday 2025. As always, I made the reservation by phone in January 2025. When we arrived on Easter Sunday, we were told that there was no table reserved for me and my companions. Furthermore, people questioned whether we had the “Easter card” with us! According to an employee, this “Easter card” should have been purchased in advance. To do this you would have had to go to Menden again. For me an additional 80 KM! The waiter who arrived repeated the information already discussed by his colleague. However, the gentleman “head waiter” assumed that there would be around 10-12 guests a week and claimed that reservations had been made. An impudence. Here you are put to the lie and it is assumed that you are trying to get a table. The waiter actually always came across as friendly, which was definitely not noticeable on Easter Sunday. Given the route, I asked for a solution. The waiter was in no way interested in a friendly solution. He behaved quite negatively. He didn't do anything to placate an angry guest. A real professional when it comes to dealing with customer complaints. Even the outside terrace, which was completely unoccupied, was out of the question for him to offer to us. Despite a clear comment on my part that I had been a regular guest for several years and traveled a corresponding distance, he wasn't interested in the slightest. Extremely disappointed, I made my way back. The restaurant will be deleted from my contact list.

Service and food are very good. The atmosphere in the large hall is not that nice. Very loud. It is more comfortable to sit in the smaller room next door. Prices on the bill do not match the menu. And I think a 0.4l drink for €5.40 is a bit too much of a good thing.

We can absolutely recommend the Dahlhauser Landhaus. It was our first time there and I was really pleasantly surprised! There was a huge selection of schnitzels (over 50 creations) and many other dishes. Great value for money, because both quantity and quality were absolutely right. The schnitzel (a small one is enough here, the medium selection is an XXL schnitzel) was perfect, the salad was fresh, the side dish (fries) was super crispy! Regarding the ambience, from the outside it seems a bit old, but in my opinion the dining room looks very appealing. All the tables were occupied and you could still have a really good conversation, which speaks for the good acoustics. The only point of improvement is in the service, here you can often ask for drinks, but the restaurant was completely full, the service had their hands full, so you can ignore that! We will definitely come back!!!!

Despite a previous negative experience, we gave the Dahlhauser Landhaus a second chance and were there with friends. Bread with various dips and tomato soup were chosen as starters. The bread was fresh and the dips were tasty and spicy. The tomato soup was really good. Since the restaurant is known for its various schnitzel varieties, three different schnitzels were ordered. A classic Jägerschnitzel with fresh mushrooms and a very fine brown sauce, a mushroom cream schnitzel, and a schnitzel with a Bernaisse sauce. Crispy French fries and a bowl of salad were also served. The schnitzels were "medium" size, which was more than sufficient (previously giant schnitzels, which could be ordered, were rightly omitted). All schnitzel variants tasted very tasty. Whatever is left can easily be packed up and taken with you. A risotto with fried salmon was also ordered. The risotto was nice and "schlitzy", the white wine came out pleasantly and was not dominant. TOP!!! For dessert we ordered two pancakes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. This is also very tasty. Conclusion: We were very satisfied and can recommend this with a clear conscience. The one star we deducted is due to the ambience. The room in which we ate had something of a dining room. We lacked a bit of coziness and we also sat very close to the entrance. It was rather sub-optimal, but the food was great, the staff was friendly, and next time you can request a different table.

Very tasty food! Very friendly service, asking for drinks every now and then would have been nice. I would have expected the ambience to be a little more rustic inside. A small schnitzel with the side dishes was enough for me, the medium schnitzel is really big, but you can take the rest home with you, the staff even specifically asks for it. What was astonishing to me was the difficult parking situation, even though it is not centrally located. But this food is worth the effort to go there!
