A beautiful hotel in a quiet location with a great mix of modern style and historic architecture. The rooms are new, ultra-modern, and very comfortable. The Italian food in the restaurant was delicious – highly recommended! Particularly noteworthy: the friendly and helpful staff, who made the stay even more pleasant.

It's like the train station at the front, I can't say anything about the other rooms. The staff are very friendly. The food was a disaster, the loin was so dry that it got stuck in my throat, the asparagus was wooden and the rosemary potatoes weren't seasoned (that's why the prices are peppery), the pizza my companion was unfortunately not cooked through in the middle, almost raw dough. Paid full price. Arrived with high expectations, drove disappointed. Too bad

A little culinary trip to Italy - in the middle of Hesse Today we visited for the first time as a family of three (with a six-year-old child) - and what can I say? We felt completely comfortable from the first to the last minute. It was one of those rare evenings where everything really fell into place. Atmosphere, service, food – simply a hit. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed; the atmosphere was relaxed and familiar. By the way, I found two things particularly nice: Firstly: Our son was not only treated kindly, but also cared for with genuine warmth. This is by no means a given and plays a crucial role in making you feel welcome as a family. Secondly: We were also given a loving and detailed farewell, which is also not usual everywhere. You wouldn't think so ;) but there are supposed to be restaurateurs who, after paying the bill, are no longer quite as committed as before... Not the case here. At Ristorante “Da Giovanni”, you can tell that people really enjoy what they do. Very cool experience! We treated ourselves to a full meal – starter, main course, dessert and coffee. And every single dish was on point. Whether fish, saltimbocca or panna cotta – everything tasted outstanding and was prepared with noticeable attention to detail. I would particularly like to mention the espresso: for me it is always a kind of litmus test for real Italian quality - and it was absolutely perfect here. You immediately notice that someone here knows what they are doing. Everything came to the table hot and fresh and even though there wasn't exactly a lot to do, the waiting time was always just right. We were also impressed by the ambience of the restaurant. The division into several smaller, lovingly designed rooms creates a wonderfully cozy, almost private feeling. You really have the feeling of sitting in a traditional trattoria or osteria - just not somewhere in Tuscany or Trentino, but in the middle of Hesse. This combination of authenticity and locality is something very special. Everything is just right in terms of price. The standard of food is well above average - and yet the pricing remains fair and reasonable. As I was leaving, I thought to myself: It would have easily cost 2-3 euros more per dish without being able to complain. But I firmly assume that the operators know exactly what they are doing and calculate their prices with a sense of proportion. Special praise goes to Alessandro (I hope I picked up your name correctly) - the young restaurateur who acts with so much commitment, kindness and natural talent as if he had never done anything else. His parents can be really proud of him. (And yes, I admit it: I envy your RL bear sweater... on my wish list for years!) Unfortunately, with all the enjoyment, I forgot to take photos... But you wouldn't be able to capture the amazing taste anyway, so all you have to do is go and experience it for yourself. You won't regret it, I promise. Conclusion: If you really want to eat Italian food in the region - really good, with heart and soul - you should definitely stop by here. We'll definitely come back when we're nearby! Please keep it up because it's absolutely perfect.

Food very good, service staff very nice and accommodating. Prices OK. The restaurant apparently has several rooms. We sat in a small room that was very comfortable and not noisy. It was very easy to have a conversation without having to shout at each other.

Unfortunately far too narrow! Every space is used for tables, so the noise level is too loud and unfortunately far too expensive (Tiramisu €9.40!!!!!, Tagesspiegel €9.30!!!) You want to, but you can't. What a shame!!

Very tasty food! Parmesan spaghetti with truffles, lamb's lettuce with scampi, vitello tonnato and mussels in tomato stock, everything was perfect! The restaurant was very busy that evening and yet the service was attentive and friendly! We really enjoy going there and make reservations in good time!

Very loud and very narrow. When it comes to food, the value for money is not right for me. The quality is okay, but nothing more. The prices are definitely too high for that. I had a meat dish in which the loin was portioned very sparingly. Well fried, but the sauce was very tasteless and very little. Vegetables and potatoes were completely unseasoned. The service was very nice and helpful, but we still won't be coming back.

Be sure to reserve. This is an absolute “insider tip”. Located out of the way. A really high quality Italian restaurant. I had venison ham as a starter and veal cheeks as a main course. Of course there is also pizza. And it is phenomenal. But the store is so good that it's almost always full. Be sure to reserve.

My favorite Italian around the corner

Very nice atmosphere, everything is very, very tight but cozy and not unpleasant. The service was very friendly but not quite up to par in terms of attention. This is/was possibly due to the number of guests? Now about the food. As we all know, this is a matter of taste 😁 Unfortunately I have to agree with many other reviews!! I had a pizza (seafood) and I immediately got the impression of TK Forced pizza! The pizza I chose had a somewhat sour taste that I initially associated with lemon juice. In the end, however, it seemed to me that the seafood was pickled sour!!??? Overall the school grade for the pizza: Very weak 4 with a tendency towards 5. This pizza has nothing to do with Italy and is more reminiscent of the quality of pizza delivery from Anatolia. What a shame!! It's a shame for this nice shop. Next time I'll try pasta and then decide whether I'll come back.

We have a lot of friends and supporters of Pizzaria Da Giovanni in our family and circle of friends, but unfortunately we have to admit that the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. It's not bad by any means, but it's not what it used to be either. The only thing that hasn't gone down is the prices. And I think the price/performance ratio no longer fits. We ordered there again today after a long time. It can happen that you forget one thing when you have 7 dishes... but then the Mariu pizza that is delivered is only lukewarm, the topping is very bland and the base is lamby like a frozen pizza - but at €13.70 it is steep. The included salads weren't particularly appetizing either.

I have been a loyal guest at this wonderful Italian restaurant for over 30 years and it has never disappointed me. The combination of outstanding food, warm hospitality and an authentic atmosphere makes this restaurant a true gem. The menu offers classic Italian dishes prepared with great attention to detail and high quality ingredients. The homemade pasta in particular is an absolute highlight - you can literally taste the tradition and craftsmanship. The pizzas, crispy and thin, take you straight to Naples. The wine selection is also excellent and perfectly balanced. The team that has accompanied me over the years is warm and attentive without seeming intrusive. You are always welcomed with a smile and after all these years it almost feels like a second home. It is this personal touch that makes the restaurant so special. Eating asparagus at an Italian restaurant? Definitely yes! You will be rewarded with a culinary delight: wonderfully tender and slightly al dente, aromatic asparagus meets a delicious Hollandaise sauce and crispy, tender Viennese schnitzel. We took advantage of the good weather and ate in the courtyard area (beer garden...). The service was quick, friendly and competent. The food was very good and served quite quickly. We then looked at the cozy interiors for later visits; It wasn't the last time we were there!

We were here twice within eight days, that speaks for itself. On our first visit we were immediately impressed by the friendly staff and the good, fresh food. My husband had a starter plate as his main course. A delicious pizza bread was also served. Grandpa had medallions with mushrooms, zucchini vegetables and potatoes. I had the regular Wiener Schnitzel with fries and salad. Everything was super tasty. For dessert I had a large scoop of pistachio ice cream, with fresh strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, strawberry sauce, some cream, beautifully presented on a plate. We had to wait a bit that day because food was being served to a small group of people in the large dining room. But the wait was worth it. Everyone here is friendly and nice. Today we were here again, my birthday dinner! My husband had monkfish and Grandpa and I had sole. The fish was fresh and deliciously prepared. The side salads, twice with yoghurt dressing and once with balsamic dressing, were also fresh and delicious. At our request there was also delicious pizza bread. I couldn't miss the pistachio ice cream again. All in all, a super clean place with a friendly atmosphere, we are happy to have found out about this pizzeria through an article in the regional newspaper. We'd love to come back!

Da Giovanni is really exceptionally good. Always first-class cuisine, lots of variety on offer and a top price-performance ratio. The service is always very warm and competent. I can really only recommend it

We ate there and sat outside, which was pleasant. Nice waiter. It's a shame they were closed on Thursday. Otherwise we would have gone there again for my birthday. Delicious salad. And pizza was good too. Parking is a bit difficult. Due to construction work in front of the door. But otherwise you can also park at Edeka.

We were the guests who left last, which was probably because we had a long conversation with the operator. A super nice family business. We'd love to come back.

Went to this lovely restaurant for the first time (as a family) on our way to Marburg. Everything was really right there: quality, service, ambience and the price. Conclusion: We'll be back!

Delicious and incredibly friendly

Today there were six of us and our boss (one and a half years old) for lunch. The food was all great, the service was excellent. The friendliness towards the little boss was almost family-like.

I had only heard good things from friends and was there for the first time. I immediately felt welcome. The staff were super friendly and it gave a very familiar impression. The food was served quickly even though it was busy. It was visually very appealing and tasted very good. The price-performance ratio is right and I will definitely go there again. A very clear recommendation.

Unfortunately everything is very tight and hectic. Pizza was mediocre and nothing special for this price. Waiting time over an hour. All in all, a lot of room for improvement...
